We stayed at Ramada Hervey Bay as we wanted to be close to the Marina for a whale watch trip. The location was excellent with less than five minutes walk to the Marina. Front desk staff offered assistance in selecting a whale watch trip. Our suite was generous in size with a most comfortable bed. After a brief hiccup, free wifi was available in our room. We were impre...

Oceans offered some very nice touches. There the rooms were big and the outlook was stunning (we were on the 4th floor with a view over the pier to Fraser Island). There was a pod coffee machine and really nice toiletries. The Japanese style sliding doors to the master bedroom were nice. However there were a number of downsides. The rooms and resort feel dated (this i...

*After a mix up with being given the wrong room the staff were very quick to arrange for us to be transferred to the correct room. *Room was well appointed but starting to show wear and tear. *Bed quite hard but we didn’t mind that. *Bathroom around the shower needed a good scrub with quite a bit of mould stain around the door frame. *Staff were very friendly and a...

This was my first time in Hervey Bay, I was there for a funeral and knowing this, Michelle who served me was an Angel. She took initiative to know what would make things as easy as possible for me without me even asking. Went out of her way to ensure I was taken care of. I was overwhelmed with Gratitude. From the beginning right to printing my boarding pass at the end,...

We noted mixed reviews for Shelly Bay Resort across different booking sites, so we were unsure what to expect. What a wonderful stay! Shelly Bay Resort thoroughly exceeded our expectations- notably, Andrew (Manager) phoning ahead and offering us an early check-in, warmly welcoming us on arrival, and offering a late check-out at no additional cost. Even though we had be...

This was our second stay at the Beach Motel in Hervey Bay. We were warmly welcomed back by very professional and courteous staff. Both check-in and check-out were smooth and very fast. We were able to stay in the same room we had been in last year. The room was just as lovely, the aircon nice and cold, and although we only stayed one night, my son had a relaxing earl...

we were so unlucky that we went there when the big flood hit the whole qld. we end up staying for two more nights because the road is all flooded. john, the manager of best western plus is such a gentlemen. i really thank his kindess, help and support. if i am coming back to hevery bay for holiday, i know i don't have to do my research anymore. this is the one if ...

we flew all the way to Hervey Bay with a bub for 7 nights but were put on ground floor with no views. We would have been happy if we could at least have had a room with some views for a couple of days given bub sleeps 4 hours during the day and over 12 hours overnight, and we were apartment bound for 16 hours a day! The layout of the room is good. Location is good, i...

We only stayed one night, being in town for a friend's party, but it was a great experience. If I were staying in Hervey Bay longer, the Colonial Lodge would be at the top of my list. I particularly liked that there is a full kitchen including a gas range and oven; I prefer to self-cater to keep costs down.

We arrived after office hours and the owner/staff was still willing to entertain us. The amenities of the rooms were good and the bed was comfortable. Although we only stayed for a night, we will most definitely book with them again if we were ever going back to Hervey Bay again.

When I ask for sea views I always ask more questions as I dont call a glimpse of the sea "sea views". Given the room rate was very cheap compared to others we have stayed at we were expecting a pretty average room. We were absolutely blown away with the quality and size of the apartment and have no hesitation in reccomending this complex to others who want a ten star r...

while this would be an excellent location for an overnight stay, you would be cheating yourself out of the best experience you will remember if you like peace and quiet from humans. feeding the birds and turtles from your front verandah, or just sitting looking at the lake and only hearing the occasional aircraft pass overhead, really does take some beating. we had boo...

Pros, very clean, great value, very good layout with plenty of on suite sites and cabins available! Cons, pool times need to be changed for holidays especially in summer! As closing at 6pm in the summer is much too early! No proper camp kitchen facilities only BBQ'S!

I stayed at Urangan Motor Inn for 2 nights in November. It is located on the promenade with each access to beach, quiet, has good sized rooms with comfortable beds and parking in front of motel room. There is an a la carte restaurant in front of the motel and a fish and chips shop next door. Hervey Bay airport is around 15 minute drive away.

We had our best night sleep here on our drive up north. The bed was very comfortable, the room is spacious and clean. We had a small balcony and could listen to the beach at night. We were in walking distance to reatuarants. The owner was very friendly and welcoming and offered activities to do on our short over night stay.

Very clean, people are nice , breakfast is vary... I never saw such a good backpacker hotel like that! The manager Peter is a funny guy, haha... They have different activities everyday. The date I was join is Tuesday, so it’s “Cheese and Wine” day. However I can’t drink wine, Peter was very considerate and provide me some apple juice instead. Thank you guys, I really e...

Excellent! the staff assisted us when we arrived and provide all necessary info as well coming down to the carpark and providing a larger space for my car:-) The weather made the pool a little cold but it was clean and refreshing. Distance from restaurants and shops were good and the beach across the road was adequate for the time of year.

first of all I went to Hervey Bay for fun and I got it all, nice people that run the hotel, the beach is very nice, If I go back there again I would stay there again. It is very closed, to what I want and need, shop, beach, there is courtesy but for all clubs so its all good and fun. thank you

Although it's a little off the beaten path, the Emeraldene Inn & Eco-Lodge, true to its name, is a jewel of a property. Enveloped in lush tropical foliage -- home to a number of exotic birds including chatty parrots -- the motel is an oasis in the midst of a major business district. Given the peaceful surroundings, you would not know that a major highway and hospital ...

These people could not do enough for you. Loved all the special little touches in and outside the rooms. Surroundings are spectacular. Rooms clean and comfortable. Staff amazing and so very helpful. Hotel has a restaurant and gaming area. Food was lovely and breakfast were excellent, price affordable. You don't have to go anywhere, just stay there and enjoy your time in Hervey Bay. Must go out to see whale watching, of course. Woolworths supermarket just 5 minutes walking down the road, the other way will take you down to the bay and enjoy ocean breeze.

We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. As well as being reasonably priced for Hervey Bay, you get a light breakfast free with your stay. Rooms are very spacious and spotless. The staff were accommodating and extremely helpful. The Village was very clean and tidy and there is quite a few things there to keep the children happy. The 4 pools are wonderful and arranged to suit both the avid lap swimmer and a paddling baby. The BBQ areas were squeaky clean and had plenty of room for all our family, plus were conveniently located right next to...

reception was very friendly and helpful. it is in a nice quiet location that is close to shops and not far from all that hevery bay has to offer. parking is right outside the door of your room. basic amenities in your room, though it didn't have a sink. i would use again as a place to stay while visiting hervey bay tourist attractions.

The hotel offers good value basic accommodation in Hervey Bay. Unfortunately, when entering the room, my son shouted out how it smelt like a wet dog - indeed, it did. It took a few hours of open windows and doors along with some air freshener to make the room acceptable. The old fashioned air conditioning was very loud. However, the room does have quieter fans above th...

We were very impressed by the helpful and friendly staff who went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and answer questions that made things so much more enjoyable. If returning to Hervey Bay we would stay there again and recommend to our friends and family

We stayed at Palm Courts for 2 nights. From the moment we arrived the owner was super friendly and helpful. It is located 10-15 minutes walk away from the Torquay main area, where you amongst others find the Greyhound Torquay busstop. Very easy to ...

Traveler impressions of Hervey Bay
if you look to cram lots of stuff into a short stay Hervey Bay will fit the bill but taking it slow & easy is the local tradition, that way your memories & friendships will last a lot longer.
Offered a diversity of cultural, historical and ocean trips to suit all but 'business meetings' types.
Apart from the Whale watching and the ferry over to Fraser Island. I found Hervey Bay to be very quiet.
A string of small beachside villages have all grown into each other along the wide sandy beachfront to make the 'city' of Hervey Bay.
Only called here for lunch on way to River Heads to get ferry across to Fraser Island. Appeared lovely, had a good feel about it.
Hervey Bay is a family holiday resort with opportunities to visit Fraser Island and Whale Watch The beaches are good and there are plenty of reasonably priced restaurants.
Enjoyed the beach area, walked the long peir, golf course was very enjoyable,a very reasonable standard, appeared to be well supported.
Whale watching and Fraiser Island is must-do. I want to go there again someday, especailly Fraiser Island.
Hervey Bay is a pretty coastal town that provides excellent accommodation and sight seeing tours as well as a launch pad to the fantastic Fraser Island beauty and adventure spot, the largest nature sand island in the world with incredible rainforests growing though the sand and beautiful lakes of pristine water to swim in.
It is quiet a relaxed placed. We went to have a romantic break away which we did :) We did find a few of the people around a bit grumpy hence the friendly inhabitants only as a three!! Most people were very friendly anly a few in the service industry were the grumpy ones!!! Whale watching is a great experience, as is travelling to Fraser Island.
Local Heritage Museum. Whale Watching. Fraser Island tours. Fishing from Pier or boat. Beaches Aquatic Park for children.
Hervey Bay is a town with beautiful clean beaches. Whale watching is one of the best eperiences. It is also the hopping off point to Fraser Island which is also beautiful.

More about Hervey Bay
Hervey Bay serves as the gateway to both Fraser Island and the Great Barrier Reef. Fraser Island is the world’s largest sand island and is serviced by ferries from the harbor. Whale watching is a major activity here as this locale is where the majestic creatures stop for a while on their migration. And keeping it in the water, you can take a glass-bottom boat for day or night viewings of the coral. Cycling is also an ideal sport for landlubbers with 18km of foreshore cycleway, and the culture seekers will enjoy a visit to the Hervey Bay Historical Village and Museum. Along the Esplanade, dining and pubs can be easily found and include a range of cuisines.
Be sure to check out the interactive map of Hervey Bay for information on hotel locations, attractions, and must-see destinations.
