Tsim Sha Tsui,Hong Kong - View on map
"Pros: - apathetically pleasing - building itself, lobby and room design - non-smoking property (double thumbs up) - spacious room - unblocked view (if facing Austin Park) - fantastic bathroom design with fantastic water pressure and temperature - functional toiletries and appliances provided in the room - so logical to have a cafe right in the lobby. Serves great latte and reasonably priced too - two choices of supermarket available (one to the left and one across the street to the right) - close distance via taxi from Kowloon Airport Express station - less than HKD50 (based on 1 luggage); Cons: - not for visitors who are first timer to HK as the walking distance to either Jordan MTR station or Tsim Sha Tsui (TST) station is that straightforward - May not be easy to flag down taxi at peak hrs. Slightly stressful when hopping off cab when arr w luggage Verdict-Will stay again for sure even though am more of a Hong Kong islander! Thank you for an awesome stay "

Auberge Discovery Bay Hong Kong
Lantau Island,Hong Kong - View on map
"I was highly impressed by Auberge Hotel. This is a brand new hotel in its "soft" opening phase. Large rooms, very comfortable, spotlessly clean, everything is new. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, great value. Just be aware that you CAN'T catch a taxi to this hotel because Discovery Bay is a car-free zone. The only way to get there is by ferry from Central then bus from DB Pier, or train/bus from Hong Kong Airport, or hotel shuttle bus. You really need to have a plan in place to get to the hotel before you arrive in Hong Kong. This is my new number 1 hotel in Hong Kong. Don't fear the remote location, Disneyland is a short bus/train ride away (but allow up to an hour on the weekend because there is no Sunny Bay connection). Central is 10 minutes by bus to DB Pier, then 20 minutes by fast ferry. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. Simply outstanding and great value for money."

Harbour Plaza North Point Hotel
Quarry Bay,Hong Kong - View on map
"It was our first time in Hong Kong so we decided to get a 4 Star Hotel. After arriving at Hong Kong airport it took us a few minutes to find the Harbour Center Counter, but after we found it, we felt taken care of already. Cost us HKD$140 each for the airport shuttle to the Hotel, it was a fairly large bus, and it only seated a few of us. This is where we learned that the Airport Shuttle caters to other hotels too. Think of it this way, if you have large bags or luggage, a few bucks is worth it when going to and from the airport because you are going to walk a lot. My bag was a large duffle and it was 24 lbs. and I was so grateful I opted for the shuttle going to and from the Airport. Plus, you get to see Hong Kong more from the bus, unlike when you take the train which goes into the subway after the first 5-6 stations. When we arrived at the hotel, check in was a breeze, they just get the impression of my card and thats it, there was someone who helped us get our things from the bus to the check in counter then from the check-in counter to our room. But be sure to give a separate tip to the one who carries your bag from the bus to the hotel, because it will be a different person who will bring your bags up. The room was quite big/clean compared to other Hotels our friends stayed at. Their's were around 21 sq mts, ours was about 28 sq mts. they were complaining that they had traffic going to and from their bathrooms, while we were comfortable in a King sized bed, we had a stocked mini ref and we had cable. Only problem is internet costed around a HK$100/day. We only stayed at the hotel to sleep and bathe mostly, but we would've loved to use the gym and the pool. Both were clean and complete. Maybe because there are monthly tenants staying at the serviced suites of the hotel. They had a sauna but I didn't get to use it. My girlfriend was able to use the pool, her only complaint was that it wasn't heated. We are coming back, soon. "

Acesite Knutsford Hotel
Tsim Sha Tsui,Hong Kong - View on map
"This hotel stay was for an overnight during a long transit between flights. Hotel has a good location in the Tsim Tsui district. It was spotlessly clean, with friendly check in staff, and a small terrace area and lap pool surrounding the check in area. The hotel maximises on the limited amount of space in Hong Kong very cleverly. The rooms are extremely small, with a single bed, large flat screen tv, small fridge and coffee/tea maker leading on to a separate small but well appointed bathroom It the perfect place to use as a base and if you are not going to be in the room a lot and using it as a place to sleep whilst enjoying everything Hong Kong has to offer. You can stay in much larger hotels in Hong Kong and pay a lot more for your room and not gain a much larger room - so the hotels value for money is outstanding Would definitely recommend to people on a short stay or a budget where they don't want to spend all their money on an expensive hotel room. It offers everything you need, location, well equipped rooms and comfort "

Le Prabelle Hotel
Mongkok,Hong Kong - View on map
"We went to Hong Kong in Mar 2017 with 2 young kids. In addition, my extended family were with us and we booked a total of 1 B.O.B suite 2 4-bedded room 1 Twin room Location is within 5 mins to Prince Edward station Convenient to get to eateries nearby This is probably the biggest room i have stayed in Hong Kong, having stayed at hotels in Yau Ma Tei and Jordan. Imagine my kids were playing hide and seek in the BOB suite. Staff were really nice and accommodating. There is an airport shuttle service nearby. But warning, be prepared to drag your luggage across 2 main roads and a minor street before reaching the hotel ground floor. Will definitely stay here again if I visit Hong Kong in the future "

The Perkin Hotel
Tsim Sha Tsui,Hong Kong - View on map
"I felt a bit iffy when I was making the book since the price of this place was a fair bit lower than the surrounding big brand hotels. Alas, we decided to give it a try and boy, aren't we glad we did. The hotel itself sits on Knutsford Terrace (elevated walkway with excellent bars and restaurants); it's only about 5-10 mins away from the nearest MTR exit--very convenient. We came in on an early evening with typhoon signal 8 in effect, and a lot of eateries were closed. The hotel staff was extremely resourceful in helping us locate some cafes that 'never close'. The room was spacious and clean and quiet! We slept like a log. This place is now one of my top favorite hotels in Hong Kong--will definitely come back again."

Brighton Hotel Hong Kong
Wanchai,Hong Kong - View on map
"OK This hotel will not be for everybody. Remember hotel rooms in Hong Kong are expensive and small as space is at a premium. The room was fine but small. Had all the required facilities, fast internet etc. Was fine for me I was on my own. 2 people and cases would be a squeeze. Location, Right next to Wanchai metro and bang smack in the middle of the Wanchai bar area/ entertainment area. Dont dispair turn left out of the hotel and within a few hundred yards is the White Stag bar. Ladies plying their wares are banned. Run by a British cycling fanatic. Was looked after very well by him and all his staff. The other great asset of this hotel is that it is walking distance to the exhibition centre. Having found this hotel would not stay anywhere else when visiting Hong Kong"

HK Cosco Inn(Former Cosco Hotel)
Hong Kong Island West,Hong Kong - View on map
"Booked the no window, twin bed room, the room was nice and the bathroom was big for a typical hong kong bathroom. It's a nice room especially if you would not stay in the hotel in a long period of time, due to it not having windows it feels a little bit stuffy. The bathroom has its own shower, separate from the toilet, with complete toiletries. The shower temperature was tricky, It was cold at first, as the mixer in the shower doesn't work at all, the trick is, you have to open the shower and let it run, eventually it would turn warm. The check-in was fast, there was also a 200HKD deposit which was not indicated which is not a big surprise, pretty cheap deposit compared to other hotel. The staff was also accommodating even if we checked in late (around 10pm-11pm). The check out was also fast, don't lose the deposit receipt so you could claim your deposit back. Location was fantastic, it was a 2-3min walk away from the HKU station. There are a few restaurants nearby to eat breakfast and the area is clean and safe. Overall , will book again if I come back to Hong Kong"

Sydney Hostel
Tsim Sha Tsui,Hong Kong - View on map
"1.) Location and staff The location of this hostel is excellent, steps away from the MTR and few hundred meters away from the ferry to Central. The staff are nice and hospitable enough to show us the room. 2.) Comfort First of all, understand that this is Hong Kong:- floor area is a scarcity and very expensive in this country. The room that i experienced was very small (6' x 12' = 72 sq ft). This includes the bathroom and toilet as well. Sheets was stained slightly with unknown brown substance with the visible hair on pillow case. The pictures are deceiving. If you are looking for a big and luxurious room then get ready with a bigger hotel budget because this is HONG KONG and nothing is cheap especially real estate! This is a budget hostel for the ones who are just looking for a space to sleep. 3.) Chungking Mansion Google this place where the hostel is located and you will find out that it consists of 5 blocks (Block A to Block E). The name sounds glamorous but as mentioned in other reviews, there are a lot of people on the Ground floor trying to sell you things. Although saying that, they are harmless and just doing their job. So if you are expecting a grand reception area with a bell boy and a concierge, you are better off to be looking somewhere else. 4.) Food/Dining Indian/Pakistani food available on the Ground Level. Visit Hong Kong to experience Indian and Pakistani food, why not eyh? A little adventure on the palate. 5.) Value for money Only stay here if you are on your own, on a tight budget or backpacking. Definitely not a place to impress your family/girlfriend/boyfriend/fiance/in-laws/VIP/etc."

More about Hong Kong

Hong Kong is one of Asia's most relevant cities where an influx of business travelers and tourists continue to come in increasing numbers. Most visitors arrive via Hong Kong International Airport. From here, business travelers can connect to sophisticated airport hotels while tourists transfer to hotels in Hong Kong’s city center.

A proper tour begins on the main island, where the British first established a colony at what has become Central District. Hong Kong South is a hotspot for modern building projects while Hong Kong Island West, Mongkok, and Yau Ma Tei are laid out in traditional Chinese neighborhoods. East of Central, Wanchai holds a booming selection of Hong Kong business hotels as well as a healthy night scene.

From North Point, it's a short jaunt across Causeway Bay to Kowloon City, the city's commercial heart. At the top of the peninsula, Tsim Sha Tsui district hosts ultra-modern shopping malls like Harbour City. This is also where the best selection of accommodation in Hong Kong comes together in a smash of upscale giants, backpacker haunts and classic historic venues.
