Honolulu (HI) hotels & accommodations
I hesitated at first to book this hotel due to the numbers of negative feedback's here. Well, I am so glad I booked this hotel!!! I flew from Singapore to Honolulu and reached the hotel exhausted. I'm surprised on how ground staffs treated their visitors so warmly. Peeps are so generous and very friendly. That immediately made me fall in love with the place & of course...
Great location on the east side of Waikiki which was much quieter and close to Diamond Head. Lots of eateries in the area and easy access to the beach. We had a beautiful view of Diamond Head and could see the sunrise every morning. Pool is slightly small but not many people use it, and choose to lounge around the pool area. Was a great space and the hotel hosted som...
This was our second visit back to The Modern Honolulu. We stayed here during our trip to Hawaii a few years back. This time we only got to spend one night here but the experience was just as enjoyable as our first visit. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the location convenient. We love the modern vibe and it is one of our favorite hotels in Honolulu.
This hotel is good value for money. It's nothing fancy but that's all we need. The bed was Nice and comfy. It's half way between all the shops in waikiki and Honolulu (1-2km walk in each direction). There's a bus stop right outside the hotel going both ways which we caught into Honolulu many times. The pool is nice (4-5 ft deep). Staff were nice. Aircon old and noisy b...
My flight to Honolulu was 6 hours late departing Phoenix. Before I took off I called my Oahu family and said i would not get in before 1 AM and was going to Maui in the morning to visit more family so don't pick me up . Called the hotel directly after reserving on line and explained that I reserved for the night of the 6th but would check in on the 7th in the early A...
I made a reservation for Cityview, but I was assigned a room next to the elevator. He was kind to a request to move the room because he was sensitive. The hotel is old, but the room is good, and the location is the best in Waikiki. However, with the modernization work now, elevator use and noise can be uncomfortable. But I was most satisfied with the Hyatt on this trip...
We stayed in the hotel for 4 nights for the annual Honolulu Marathon event in early December because it’s closer to the start point. Highly recommend the Japanese sushi restaurant in the first floor of Prince Waikiki Hotel. We have dined there twice during our 4 nights stay. The overall service provided by the hotel was superb! Very close to Ala Moana Shopping Center. ...
With impeccable service this place will not disappoint. From the moment you walk in the doors you are greeted with a smile. Be sure to Try the Worlds best mai tai's at the bar and enjoy the breath taking view of Waikiki beach. If your prepared to spend the money don't look any further then the trump.
Great location right in the heart of Honolulu with surrounding shops and restaurants. Views are awesome and there are two swimming pools, one of them is infinity pool overlooking the beach. Wifi is free unlimited.
Although we got off on a rough start due to some facility issues the staff was prompt in alleviating the situation. Jody, the manager, was very understanding, sooo nice and friendly and my daughter and I became somewhat friends. I usually stay at the Wyndham (and I did for part of my stay) but budget was tight and needed to stay at a pocket friendly hotel. There was a ...
We were a family of 7 so we used 2 suites on the 20th floor, 4 in one & 3 in the other. These suites were great value, 2 bedrooms in each & a fully furnished kitchen in one of them. This made it very easy to feed 3 teenage kids. Beautiful vues of the beach from both units & plenty of entertainment units, TVs etc. Services were great & lots of restaurants in the hotel &...
Loved our stay here! You must stay in the Ali'i Tower. Exclusive amenities, and personal check in/out counter, pool, gym and spa, with prime location on beach front real estate - ocean views. The staff were fantastic! Julie Smith at the information centre was not only helpful and curious, she was sweet and very funny. Great insiders tips and started my morning off wit...
It's the first hotel on Waikiki Beach. Very classic in colonial style comparing to other 4-star hotels. The service was great and they have a very high safety protocols for their guests. The hotel is situated right on Waikiki so you can enjoy the beach whenever you want. From the hotel, you can walk to many surrounding shopping malls and restaurants. Highly recommend f...
I had booked in advance back in the end of March. Due to my flight last minute changes (not on my part.Thank you United for the headache) my family and I arrived a day late. I made sure to call ahead to notify the hotel that we would be coming late. Unfortunately, I didn't catch the lady's name whom I spoke to that day. But she assured me that our rooms will still be r...
We stayed at the Garden Inn on our forward journey to America as well as our return journey. We were very happy that we had booked this hotel again as we arrived at 6:30am and presented to the reception desk and to our great relief were given our room then and there! We had a huge travel day to arrive in Honolulu and were very tired so couldnt be happier to go straight...
Cant ask for more, hotel facilities & services are real good ... Amazingly convenient ! just walk down the escalator and you will be in a the No 1 shopping street of Waikiki . A few pace away to everything a first timer to Honolulu need Beach is just behind the block across the street . Well done to the Waikiki Beachcomber team.
This was one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had anywhere in the world. From the moment we stepped into the hotel we felt excited to be there. The front desk staff was exceptional. They were chatty, involved in our stay, and polite and professional! They never hesitated to come out from behind the desk to help us- whether to show us the ice machine or help us ...
This was my second holiday in Waikiki. The first time I went with a friend and we stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn and had a wonderful experience, so decided to stay with the Hilton chain again but in a different location. I would highly recommend this hotel. It is in a perfect location, close to the beach and all the happenings of Waikiki, they have a great 24 hour res...
My husband and I were very pleased with our nine night stay and would definitely stay again in the future especially if we were able to secure a package deal. The Hotel is in a perfect location and central to everything we needed during our stay. The Bus stop was less than a block away which is a great and cheap service to get around and even the whole Island. It is on...
I loved my stay at Waikiki Beach Condominiums. I emailed before hand to let them know I was arriving at 8am and could they hold my bags as I knew check-in was in the afternoon. Straight away I got a lovely reply saying dont worry they would look after me. They then followed up with full instructions of where to park and how to check-in as this is an appartment build...
We really enjoyed our stay at the Imperial Hawaii Resort at Waikiki. From check-in to check-out, it was a good experience, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the price was reasonable (we booked a month and a half in advance on Agoda). The location is great - Lewers St is a nice and cool street! It's walking distance to Waikiki beach and to restaurants and bars, a...
The hotel may seem a little aged from the outside, however on the inside it's very well maintained. The pool area is great and has water-sports rental kiosk right there. Dukes and Hula Grill offer amazing food, and drinks. Very much enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!
We enjoyed both our stays at this hotel. The staff were always friendly and helpful, the rooms comfortable and the hotel is close to the beach and lots of good restaurants. We will certainly stay there again if and when we visit Honolulu again.
This hotel is in a perfect location - right down town Honolulu It is not bad in price but it is definitely an older hotel - evident in their rooms and in the building itself. For me: CONS: - I had requested a king bedroom and received a room with two double beds; - the light in the bathroom flashed on and off all night (yes I could have called down but I had a very e...
I have read a lot of bad reviews for this place but at the end of the day, the hotel is affordable yet provides an amazing view of the ocean. We were on level 21 (just making it over the shorter buildings in front of the Tower). You really need to read the fine prints. There is a resort fee, you have to do the check in yourself where they will be sent instructions on t...
Honolulu seemed to me to be an extremely expensive place for a hotel stay. The hotel facilities seemed pretty minimal to me, but the location was good, and the staff were friendly. We stayed here because our traveling companions picked it out, but if I were doing it again with just my wife and myself, I would shop around a bit more.
I book this hotel very long time ago as there is promotion but i really don't know this is a good choice, there are many comment on the internet and what i worry is the bed bud, insert in the room........ when i arrive, the lobby is very nice, bright and clean, no problem of it, staff is nice. when i get into my room, i have a "WOW" feeling, never have that feeling. ...
The hotel is in a central part of Honolulu. Close to beach and shopping. Maleko, the bakery shop downstairs is great for breakfast and pastry.
The Pearl is a older hotel but her location is awesome. She is literally a half block from the International Market, and a block and a half from the beach. A block in the other direction is a food market. The staff were very helpful with planning excursions and local transport. As well, we can to Honolulu 5hrs later than planned ( flight delayed) and they made accomm...
Cheap places to stay in Honolulu (HI)
The photos make it look 100X better than it actually is. The hotel is very...international. It is designed for non Americans. Its cheap its blocks from the beach although there are some very rough places you have to walk through. The AC and power in your room are dependent on you inserting your key in a slot. The beds and toilet are low to the ground. The pool and foot...
We absolutely loved staying at Ewa! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and made our stay in Hawaii! While the hotel is not modern, it is very clean, has all the necessary amenities, super strong wifi, and breakfast. Most importantly, it is literally a block away from Waikiki beach and the Honolulu zoo. Great location and price!

Very impressed with the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. Good location and close to all amenities. Can be noisy at night from cars and chatterings at street level. Breakfast was adequate although the quality of the tea can be improved (too watered down). Nonetheless a value for money hotel and one that i would stay in again on my future visits to honolulu.
As this is not a hotel you will have to rely on the owner who is consistently late, aggressive and rude. We accidentally mixed up the dates and thought we were staying another day. We needed to check out at 11, the time specified on the booking. The owner was infuriated by this and threatened to charge another day to my credit card if we did. He also tried to pressure ...

I didn't realize that the Douglas Waikiki was the Royal Kuhio Hotel now being operated more like an AirBNB type of condo rental. But we had a nice stay and enjoyed using the kitchen to prepare meals.

In an overdeveloped expanse of accommodation in Waikiki Hotel Renew stands out as it is fairly small and "boutique". I stayed at Hotel Renew twice during my stay in Hawaii. The first room was a Beach View room which was lovely and quiet. The second was a city view room (room 601) which was noisy; I was woken up various times during the night by garbage trucks etc so d...

My husband had stayed here before and that was why I decided to pick this hotel for our overnight stay. We stayed for a night after arriving from San Francisco, as we had to catch our flight home the next day, from Honolulu airport. I wish that we had been able to stay longer as I was pleased with the room given to us. It was big, with a big fridge (bigger than the ice...
This hotel is arranged as a condo ownership. So a single unit or few of them could be owned by one individual. We first got to unit No.822 and the looks and furnishings were like from dilapidated third grade motel, just disgusting! After (two days) of my complaining we got to the unit No.1003 which was on top with direct access to the taras overlooking part of Waikiki ...

Fly standby and got stuck in Honolulu...best overnight stay in a pinch! My son wants to stay again, wayyy nicer than a hotel 6. Can't beat the transportation to and from the airport 24 hrs/day. Staff awesome. Even has a fridge and a pool. Really sweet stay especially if you don't need a resort vaca. I plan to return often if my oldest decides to go to school at ...
Looks like a work in progress, inside and out. Kinda’ sad looking overall. Too bad for such a good location. Bed and pillows were super cheap and uncomfortable. Bathroom door is a slider that is falling apart and barely works. However, the towels were okay, better than some other places even. Internet was offered in price, but check in girl failed to tell us the...

Lots of good stuff about this hotel! Great location, decent rooms, lots of amazing free amenities like free towels, beach towels, beach chairs, bikes, Movies, etc. Happy hour three times a week, and free yoga - although the teacher no showed one morning which was disappointing. I can't say enough about the staff, everyone was very friendly and kind and really seemed to...
I stayed in the Equus Hotel, not the tower and was quite pleased. From the outside it looked like a typical older Honolulu apartment house, but the interior was quite nice. The rooms and small lobby were nicely furnished with antique looking furnishing. The wifi was fast enough and the beds were quite comfortable. The hotel sits on the western edge of Waikiki, bu...

It is very nice hotel and the staff is helpful, I arrived Honolulu in early morning and very tired due to time difference, as the check in time is 3:00 pm, I worried what I should do in the hours. The staff helped me and allowed early check in without extra charges. The location is goodm there are many convenience stores (ABC) and easy to get resturants too. Wit...
The hotel is in a central part of Honolulu. Close to beach and shopping. Maleko, the bakery shop downstairs is great for breakfast and pastry.
Honolulu just ridiculously overpriced now, especially with the silly "resort" fees (what next, charge extra for linen and tp???), but if you must stay in Waikiki, this is one of the better value places if you aren't staying at an airbnb. Very clean, convenient and nice staff, near the beach and bus stops, and comfy beds.

Although an older hotel it was in an amazing location (literally across the road from the beach) and was as clean as it can be for the age of the building. The housekeeping was amazing and the staff were so friendly - we arrived early in the morning and because our room was ready they were able to check us in early without a fuss...as a family with an infant and child ...
I had a Great Stay at Aqua Skyline at Island Colony, I really love this hotel for being stylish and clean and most of all it is centrally located to shopping, transportation and also walking distance to waikiki beach, the staff is very helpful, the location of the hotel is in a quiet place so you can have a good rest after the tiring day of walking around, shopping and...
Good price with good facility & location. Good value to stay in Honolulu. ^_^
Good location close to Waikiki main road, breakfast is very simple and no choice if you are Asian. also, little seating space only, but overall nice hotel and friendly staff. Clean spacious rooms, small pool and relax area good for a few days in Honolulu.
I was pleasantly surprise of the conditions of the room. I had a superior studio unit which is very spacious and has an excellent view of the mountain. It is right next to the Wakiki beach and all the nearby shopping and night life. What I liked most of this hotel are the indoor parking and internet connection with no additional charges. The small kitchenette allow...

Chose this place because of the modern decor, loved the neon vibe, lobby and the neon touches throughout. The water, tea etc. in the lobby was a nice touch. This was my fourth time that I stayed at the Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach. I will definitely stay with Hyatt Centric next time I go to Honolulu.
I stayed in the HGV lagoon tower with my family - husband & boys -12 & 14. we had an amazing view and the 1 bedroom condo was nice but seemed like it could use a facelift. Our bed in the bedroom was comfortable, but the pull out couch was uncomfortable for the boys. I did love having the laundry room on each floor for the guests - that came in handy. We struggled a l...
Having lived in Honolulu for over 14 years, we were aware of this "hidden" treasure for years. My family has stayed there since we moved from Oahu 20 years ago so we have a very long history. The hotel isn't fancy but the rooms are lovely, with many of the rooms overlooking the ocean and Waikiki. The staff......they have been there for 10-20- 30 years because, accordi...
overall the Double Tree in Honolulu is a first class Hotel with exceptional customer service.
Had booking hassles and was overcharged by hotel but once fixed holiday was great. First room offerred backed on lift so we got a double sized bed not a king like we purchased. Second night that was fixed with a great apt with a sea view. Buffet breakfast is great. Afternoon drinks are great and surf at waikiki was ok in a longboard. All up good times in waikiki
Great property but pricey.

Nice location amenities are great, beach big and beautiful
We loved out stay at the Aqua Lotus Honolulu. The rooms were huge and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed the free wine service! It's located about a five minute walk from Waikiki's main strip but this was a plus for us as we were looking for something a little quieter. Thanks for a great stay!
All travelers really don’t like the way that hotels & resorts in Hawaii (including this Marriott hotel) charge the hotel & resort fee as daily basis for the services they do not use and do not want to use. Hotel & resort fee is the unreasonable cost for travelers in Hawaii. Without hotel & resort fee, this Marriott hotel is excellent.
Absolutely brilliant! We had a great eight days. The location, the staff, the whole experience was lovely! We seldom travel but if the opportunity should arise that we return to Honolulu we WILL stay here again. We highly recommend this place!!

When we got there, we were greeted with friendly staff who checked us in earlier than usual and accommodated my friend's late checkout. However, things started to go downhill from there. We love the Kahala & could not imagine staying anywhere else. Definitely the very best resort for rest & relaxation, located in a private area in Oahu. Yet under 5 miles from downtown Waikiki. The location and facilities of Halekulani Hotel are fantastic, but it is the staff that really make this hotel stand out. Each and every staff was excellent, very friendly and helpful. The hotel will be demolished on 30th June yet everyone was business as usual, no impact to their day to day service.
