"Very impressed with the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. Good location and close to all amenities. Can be noisy at night from cars and chatterings at street level. Breakfast was adequate although the quality of the tea can be improved (too watered down). Nonetheless a value for money hotel and one that i would stay in again on my future visits to honolulu."

"This was one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had anywhere in the world. From the moment we stepped into the hotel we felt excited to be there. The front desk staff was exceptional. They were chatty, involved in our stay, and polite and professional! They never hesitated to come out from behind the desk to help us- whether to show us the ice machine or help us to use the coffee machine. The room was very tidy and nicely furnished. Although on the small side, it was very comfortable and had a nice sized closet for suitcase storage and to hang our clothes. The hotel provides FREE washing as well. Free machines, free detergent, and free dryer sheets. I've never seen that before! The lobby is comfortable and has free coffee all day, which is a godsend for jet lag. The hotel is located just behind the Hyatt hotel, only 2 minutes from the beach. There are convenience stores, supermarkets, bars and restaurants all within 5-10 minute walk. And with the money we saved booking at the Stay, we didn't feel bad about having a few more expensive meals. This is one hotel that is doing everything right. I am a raving fan for life and I will recommend The Stay to everyone I know who goes to Honolulu from now on!"

"This hotel is in a perfect location - right down town Honolulu It is not bad in price but it is definitely an older hotel - evident in their rooms and in the building itself. For me: CONS: - I had requested a king bedroom and received a room with two double beds; - the light in the bathroom flashed on and off all night (yes I could have called down but I had a very early flight and could not stay up waiting for someone to come or for it to be fixed). - It smelled a bit musty - smelled like a very old hotel - The staff is the not the quality you may be used to or expect - questions were answered in an "unsure" manner. PROS: - great location - had a fridge, stove, pots/pan,dishes, toaster, coffee/maker, You are paying for the location - not the hotel itself. "

"Chose this place because of the modern decor, loved the neon vibe, lobby and the neon touches throughout. The water, tea etc. in the lobby was a nice touch. The service was great, willing to help and very informational. Location was perfect being in the busy part of Waikiki & also opposite Ross, behind H&M etc. Loved they did their best with updating with new carpet, paint and furnishings, but the rooms and amenities were still older, we had a large A/C unit that was older and loud throughout the night, the bathroom had older units but they had updated the tiles by painting them, new shower curtains & cool towel holders to refresh it. It is a little misleading that the whole location and venue looks new, but has only been refurbished, that was the only let down."

"For the Agoda price, it's hard to beat! They also add minimal hotel taxes. The staff was awesome and represented the Aloha spirit! I'm a former resident (kama aina) and lived nearby in the Kakaako area. I think this is the best location in Honolulu because of all the walkable options nearby to include: Ala Moana Beach Park; Ala Moana Mall; Walmart; Ross' Dress and a 20 minute stroll to Waikiki. This was an overnight stay as I was enroute to Asia the next day. Not a high end hotel, but I highly recommend it for a short stay and on a budget."

"Good hotel - the price was good the time of booking. Watch out for the hidden Amenity fee, I think almost all hotels in Honolulu has this, had to pay 160USD over 7 nights at the hotel as amenity fee. Does have amazing facilities though. Not a big fan of the air conditioning they have - super cold, weird and loud. It's right next to the bed, so you will get air directly at you. Toilet flushes sounds like a flush on the airplane - super loud. But its a decent place to stay. 10 min walk from the nearest beach. "

"We needed a place to stay while we had our house fumigated. Our Royal Grove room had a full kitchen -- we were able to store a lot of food that we brought with us. And we had space for three of us to do our "work from home" during the COVID-19 quarantine. Royal Grove is not beautiful, because it's old and hasn't been updated in a long time; but it is very functional and clean, and economical. Our only real concern was security, because we worried that our computers could be stolen if we left the room. The doors have the old-style key locks, which could be picked; and anyone can walk into the building and catch the elevator to the rooms. We were very happy with how clean everything was."

"Only con is that hotel is popular that one certains days checkimg out/in has huge, long lines. Very fast elevators, Business center is fair, bring your own laptop very expensive to use computers, my laptop broke down and forced to use hotel computer...about$28 per hour...Better walking over to Kinkos...but that is minor, the friendly, professional staff and location is the best!!!"

While the hotel is not modern, it is very clean, has all the necessary amenities, super strong wifi, and breakfast. Most importantly, it is literally a block away from Waikiki beach and the Honolulu zoo. Great location and price! "
