Hua Hin / Cha-am hotels & places to stay

I booked a flight to Thailand as a birthday present for myself. A Thai friend had a female friend that likes to travel, and I made arrangements with her to spend a week, most of which was in Hua Hin. My friend suggested three hotels in Hua Hin (smart on his part as I can not blame him if the hotel is not as good as I think it should be) and I selected the Anantara. I am very happy that I did. The staff greeting with moist towel fresheners and snakes was a perfect way to start the week. We had an ocean front room (#106) and the view and yet privacy was amazing. The room was nicely sized and the shower/tub perfect. Flower petals adorned the king sized bed with "Happy Birthday" and this was a great mood setting nice touch. I had not told them that this trip was a birthday present and I did not inquire who or what had informed them. We tried to eat in all of the restaurants. Two were our favorites. One was on the main level where the entertainment is featured and the other was the waterfront tables. We recommend the "Aussie Steak". It was tender and tasteful and just what I expect from a steak house back home in California, USA. There is not much to do in Hua Hin and our week long visit was a little long for us. But, for a spot to just relax, this is top notch.

The Yana Villas located in Khao Takiab, a place which quite peaceful and quiet that 6km far from the crowded Hua Hin center city. The villa is simple (don't expect it like a 5-star hotel), and located just right beside the beach, you can watch the beautiful sunset (like the display photo) beside the pool. Eating breakfast beside the pool, enjoy the wind blows (beware the strong winds might blow all the tissue papers away). The breakfast is excellent, and huge amount for me. Their staffs are friendly and guided us well. Even they don't speak fluent English, but their smiley faces made you felt warm. The hotel provided their own shower gels, shampoo and conditioner, which is all in lemon grass series. For a lemon grass lover like me, you can really smell that everywhere. The only bathtub i felt, it shall included the anti-slip texture, to avoid any slippery.

family vacation was our regular tradition during summer time. i chose dusit hua hin because i want to try different hotel after i had tried and got impressed with cape nidhra and intercontinental hua hin before. dusit was probably among the oldest hotel/resort in this area (other would be centara hua hin). hotel buildings were built in colonial style with thai style decoration. lobby was awesome, huge with nice interior. staffs were superb at their services. check-in/check-out was fast and flawless. front desk recognized my reserve promptly and direct me to the rooms. i could really not find any hotel in hua hin that can match dusit's service, even several other 5-stars hotels that i previously stayed. the breakfast here was perfect. so many varieties to choose and 'all' were delicious. i can say this hotel had the best breakfast in hua hin by far. few minus i can mention here, room decorations were quite old and dark. the amenities here could not match those of cape nidhra and intercontinental. tv was crt, not lcd/led and remote was difficult to use, sometimes did not respond at all. lighting switches were so complex and not centralized. i also think lighting was not adequate, esp at night. i don't like room to be too dark. however, if you consider services and food to be your priorities, those dusit provided trumped everything, ... hands down.

The location of the hotel is a bit far from the downtown but they provide free shuttle service to downtown and cha am. It's convenient to explore Hua Hin and area around. Highly recommend the garden room which is just a step away from the pool. The staff at the front desk and concierge counter are attentive but the service at the restaurant is just so so. Although we are the only customer in that restaurant, the waitress are serving rush and collected our dish that we haven't finished yet.

If you would like to spend your vacation, I think Hilton Hua Hin Resort and Spa Hua Hin / Cha-am is a good choice to stay; reasonable price, location, service, facilities, swimming pool, ocean view room . . . I could be able to walk around the hotel area where surrounding with Local Shop - Local Restaurant, especially seafood restaurant. If I have a chance to visit Hua Hin / Cha-am once again, I think I will stay at Hilton Hua Hin Resort and Spa Hua Hin / Cha-am. Thank you . . .

from outside the hotel is condominium, but the hotel room building is well decorated separately from the other condo builing. room is very well decorated, cosy space, like other boutique hotels. swimming pool shared with condominium, well maintained with kids pool and adult pool separately, also provide enjoyable slider. my kids enjoyed pooln and slider playing a lot. hotel location is in hua hin center with convenient access to hua hin market, plern wan, phra ratchanives palace, restaurants. breakfast buffet line was valuable, not plenty but enough common choices for everyone even my kids also enjoy their meal. really valuable price for this quality. more luxury means more money to waste. really impressive and will be the best choice for next visit in hua hin.

Marrakesh Hua Hin Resort & Spa is my number 1 list hotel in hua hin right now. The hotel is totally new with really cool decoration. Good for both honeymoon couple and family. Food is good and their staff are excellent. I love every single detail of this hotel. My family and I had a great time here. Also the atmosphere of the hotel at night is really romantic. And my child enjoy the beach and pool:) I will come back here again soon. Love it :)

There aren't a lot of villa styled hotels in Hua Hin with private pools. Dhevan Dara resort is located about 15 to 20 minutes away from the Hua Hin beach / town, so it is not too far, but yet you will find peace, tranquility and away from the busy city. Very peaceful environment. Staff are extremely friendly and hospitable. Felt really at home. The only thing we wished for is less mosquitoes and insects. Well, the resort is located within the mountain and amidst mother nature, we can't truly get away from insects.

It was our first time to visit Hua Hin, we are grateful to have stayed in G Hua Hin. Their staff are really nice and helpful, helped us to get a daily rental car with driver for our half-day trip, as it is difficult to get a cab in Hua Hin, transportation is an issue, they have free shuttle to night market at 6pm too, which we would have joined if we haven't booked the car. The pool is very nice, even it is a bit close to the street, it is still very relaxing, and love their pool chairs!! They have some soaked nearby the pool edge, so when you get up, your legs are in the water, it feels wonderful if the sun burns you, you could just have your feet in the water for relief We have chosen to stay at the room with Jaccuzi, it is so nice that there is a stair near the Jaccuzi, you could just walk to the pool if you want to swim a bit (It looks like all Pool view jaccuzi is on 1/F). Definitely will recommend it to others!! We enjoyed it so much, and if you are a no-planner, it is good that, it is close to a mall and G Hua Hin is actually a mall by itself

Our family have been to Hua Hin at least twice a year in the last decade. So we have a lot of experience for the difference hotel in Hua Hin. This is the first time we ever come to Hua Hin Marriott Resort and Spa. I have to say that this is exceed our expectation. The hotel is very new with a fantastic swimming pool. I haven't seen the swimming pool this size (and a lot of complex design) inside the hotel before. The room is quite spacious. The breakfast is full of variety of selection from everywhere. And above all, the service is really fantastic from the front desk, security guard (especially the one at the sea gate), and room service. So far, we haven't tried lunch and dinner there yet, but we will definitely be back there to test it for sure.

this hotel is located in cha-am which is quite a distance from hua hin town itself. the hotel is really clean, and beautiful, with top notch facilities (we stayed in the jacuzzi suite, and we used the gym and swimming pool a few times). It is right there on the beach, which I assume is a nicer beach compared to Hua Hin, because it's cleaner and much less crowded. Hotel provides free shuttle to hua hin town, but not that frequently (every 2 hours i think). And the last shuttle back is quite early for a weekend night (9 pm). But you can always take a tuk tuk or a taxi back, which would cost about 200 thb. The buffet breakfast was fantastic, and Basil restaurant has great chefs! the pad thai was delicious! The service is also top notch, as with most Thai hospitality. I would recommend this place to others, but would tell them to treat it as a peaceful, relaxing get away. Not for those who want to go into town very frequently.

Everything was good about Resort De Paskani, very nice staff at the reception, room was great and it was different from most of the hotels that I had stayed before, you get the feel of "Santorini" here. Love the breakfast and coffee, staffs at the restaurant were very nice. Two nights were too short, will come back and stay here in my future visit to Hua Hin. Beautiful place to stay, short walk to the beach and easy to get grab car to go anywhere in Hua Hin. Thank you very much to all the lovely staffs at Resort De Paskani for making my stay a memorable one.

This is a late review, but I still remember every detail of my stay at Putahracsa. From the moment you step in the lobby the staff would welcome you with very friendly and genuine smiles. They are not shy to approach their customers to help out and definitely did their best at servicing their customers. Any requests you'd make they did their best to help out. The service was definitely a major factor for me enjoying my stay so much. Secondly, the hotel itself was very nice and relaxing. The environment was quiet and "private" with two beautiful pools. The rooms were comfortable and large. The only thing that bothered me was the fact that the hotel was situated on two sides of the road. So to get to the second pool from my room I had to cross the street to the other side. This is only a minor problem tho as there was always a staff member near the street to help you cross the street. Other nice things about the hotel include the free DVD's they provide which is great for night time as Hua Hin is not a big party/nightlife kind of town. The hotel also has a tuk tuk which you can book to take you from the hotel to anywhere in Hua Hin. Although taxi's in Thailand aren't too expensive anyway, having this service saves you from the hassel of finding a taxi yourself. The hotel's location is also pretty good as it is within walking distance to the night market. (which I would deem as one of the major attractions in Hua Hin)

this hotel was simply lovely, had decent service, and was right on the beach. it's best to know that the hotel is located in cha-am, though the address says hua hin/cha-am. the bus from bangkok went all the way to hua hin, and we were quite far from the hotel. there is another bus station in cha-am, but have them call a taxi for you or arrange for the hotel to pick you up. we were told it wasn't a far walk, and ended up dragging our luggage for an hour up the beach. out of no where this grand hotel appears, amongst food and trinket stalls. a half hour walk will get you to the main, busy road but don't try walking on it- apparently it's perfectly acceptable to drive on the shoulder, and there is no pedestrian walk way. insist that the hotel order you a tuk tuk or taxi- though they need three hours notice! the hotel has a service desk for booking transportation and tours, which is helpful. however, they advertise a lot of tiger temples and animal shows. avoid these and opt for wildlife friends sactuary for animals abused by these tourist traps, instead. the beach was lovely, especially to relax under an umbrella and enjoy a treat from one of the street vendors.

It was fantastic! Left me speechless. The rooms were great, the food was great. This resort is just by the beach front, breakfast with the breeze blowing in your face. The only downside that it's not near town or any shops so you'll have to take a taxi to town but it's only 120baht. Seafood is good and cheap to eat in hua hin! I am the most impressed by their staff's service and security. They'll greet you whenever they see you, super friendly! Especially the security guards. When I came back at night it was a little dark and the security will actually shine their torch lights on the road so that u could see and they'll tell you to be mindful when there are steps ahead. This is amazing, really! When you are walking towards their direction, they would stop whatever they're doing, stand straight, and greet you. Until the minute you leave the resort, when you're in the taxi, the staff and security will bid you goodbye and see u again. Initially when we were at the resort, me and my husband talked about trying out another resort if we ever come back here. But on the day we left, I told him I don't think I'll be able I accept staying at another resort in hua hin... This is how good it is

It was good, however the flies can be irritating at times, breakfast could have some room for improvements nevertheless but for the price its decent and value for money.Wish that they had more trips for the shuttle bus service and longer duration for the evening schedule as 2 hours is not enough to slowly enjoy the night market and metered taxis in Hua Hin is hard to come by so be prepared to bargain when you take a tuk tuk or hop on to a private taxi. Upon arrival we managed to get a transport package deal which took us to our hotel from Soi Hua Hin 57 to Sunshine Hostel (day1), Sunshine Hostel to Santorini Park, Swiss Sheep Farm 2012, Plearnwan Eco Vintage Village and The Sea-Cret Garden Hua Hin (day 2), The Sea-Cret Garden Hua Hin to Sam Phan Nam Hua Hin Floating Market, Hua Hin Train Station and back to Soi Hua Hin 57 to catch the minivan transfer back to Bangkok. All in excluding the trip via Minivans from Bangkok to Hua Hin and back. The cost of the Hua Hin transport package deal cost 2200Baht. Which in our opinion is a good deal considering that I've read others being charged 1000-1600Baht by tuk tuk or taxi from their hotel to Santorini Park, Swiss Sheep Farm 2012 and back to their hotels only.

We were looking for a nice quiet location to recover from a very busy holiday period - and we found the perfect place with the Novotel Hua Hin Cha-Am Resort & Spa. First off, the property is located on the much quieter Cha-Am section. Next, all rooms face the Gulf so beautiful views of sunrise and moonrises. Next, the staff is very friendly and helpful. There's a very large pool and deck area that allows you to either be close to the pool "action" or a bit further away - including a sandy "beach" area overlooking the Gulf (there is, though, really no beach here - but that did not detract fron the property at all). Just a short walk outside the property are a number of small restaurants, bars, and shops that are very typical for Thailand. There are four restaurants on property (and a wonderful little wine bar on the roof - fantastic views). The only down side is that the beach side restaurant has a very limited menu that leaves just a little bit to be desired for that truly romantic dinner - that and a number of mosquitoes that joined us for dinner. The only other down side item (and this is being a bit picky) were the towels - a bit worn and frayed. Other than those two items, we highly recommend this property and WILL be heading back when we once again need a break from the rat race here in the city.

After our 3hrs ride from BKK to Hua Hin, finally reach the destination. Some of the hotel staff's knew how to speak Mandarin and well spoken English. We received welcome drink when we check-in. While waiting for the room ready, we had our lunch at the poolside. Super love the view and our deluxe room with sea view. We had alot of photo taking around the hotel area. The breakfast is nice. It simply just grab and you can visit the night market.

I came back to this hotel after a couple of years, as I remembered this is one quality hotel in Hua Hin and it still delivers exceptional service as the same. I stayed during the week to avoid too many people, which is work because it was so calm (last time I booked it was a bit busy as in high season). My room get upgrade to pool view on 4th floor which is great, thank you to the staff, the building facing the sea but I couldn't see as the floor is too low. The hotel has good facility which is well maintained, and amenities in room are all comfortable, I wanted to extend my stay but I might need to check out and wait for check in time, so I pull back the idea. Breakfast are nice, I'm still impress with various choice and presentation of buffet line. Staff are also very attentive, from the entrance to the lobby and all area in the hotel. The down side would be the distance from town and away from beach, I drive so there's no problem. I definitely will come back again.

my husband and i spent 2 night at this wonderful new boutique hotel in hua hin, we now wish we had booked a longer stay. the hotel is only a couple of streets walk from the night market, shopping and plenty of restaurants to choose from. it only took us 5 minutes to walk to the beach, so the location is perfect. when we arrived we were promptly checked in and taken to our room, all the rooms have a different theme and have all been done in a very tasteful manner. next time we visit hua hin which we will we would definately book to stay at this hotel again.

I have stayed at multiple hotels in Hua Hin over the years, as well as hotels elsewhere in Thailand and around the world. REST DETAIL IS AT THE TOP OF THE GAME! WHY ... 1) Staff - absolutely outstanding, proactive, kind & efficient 2) Attention to detail - staff anticipates needs/wants ... terrific attention to detail 3) Beautiful rooms - comfortable and clean with great balconies 4) Grounds - two great swimming pools 5) Scenery - right next to the ocean 6) Dining - first rate restaurant 7) Location - short 10 minute taxi ride to downtown Hua Hin 8) Peaceful - no traffic or big city noises, not a huge hotel so not crammed full of guests 9) Facilities - complimentary wireless internet service 10) Price - less expensive than other hotels in the area that are comparable

This is one of the best hotels in Hua Hin that we recommend. The room is very nice and clean, with extra large bathroom. Staffs are so friendly. Buffet line for breakfast is second to none. Situated in the perfect location, right in the center of Hua Hin town. But only one disappointment, the private pool is too small compared to other pools of other hotels in the same range. However, we will definitely come back again for our next trip to Hua Hin.

The hotel located between Cha-am and Hua Hin so you can either enjoy at Cha-am or Hua Hin. Big room and Good Seaview with fully room amenities & services. Not too far from the beach you can walk or take the hotel shuttle to beach and to Hua Hin Market. The room are clean, new, comfort. Breakfast are fresh & good. All staff are very friendly and helpful. Some room can access direct to the swimming pool.

As titled this is a brand new hotel, there isn't a sign from the main street to this hotel. Basically its next to Hua Hin Hospital coming down from Hua Hin Town towards Cha-Am. There's no sign on Phetkasem Rd (note to manager of hotel), you only see it once you turn in to soi 10. Hotel is not on the beach or tourist area, its basically in the middle of the main road between Cha-Am - Hua Hin. So if you want to get to anywhere you better have a rental or other means of transportation. There were only 5-6 rooms occupied when I checked in. So its very nice and quite. You seem to own the whole hotel complex. For The room, the finishing is OK and not really a 4-star. For me its more 3 stars, and as other reviewers the AC is really LOUD and also cannot get up to speed in terms of cooling. So better leave the key on when leaving the room unless you want to come back to a sauna. Swimming pool is small so I did not even bother, but do book a room with the jacuzzi on the terrace. Very nice for a quick dip. Breakfast was not a buffet style, understandable due to the number of guests they are still just opened recently. But with that the cook your own plate of A.B.F which is aplenty and very nice and fresh, the cooking lady even came out to greet us and ask about the food, which to me is a very nice gesture. Recommend this hotel if you are on transit or short stay in Hua Hin and plan to look around town/beach thus not staying much in-room. Not recommended if you want to stay and enjoy hotel facilities and all.

We stayed here during the long weekend (Mother's Day in Thailand). We are lucky to get a very good deal from Agoda because hotels in Hua Hin is quite expensive. We booked since 17Jul13 and check in on 10Aug13. Recommend everyone to stay here because this hotel is clean, safe, staffs are friendly and there are swimming pools right next to the beach. Also Cecada Market is in walking distance (5 minutes walk only). We will go back there again if we go to Hua Hin.

We stayed at The Lapa for 3 nights. We were impressed by their commitment to guest satisfaction. First, the staff came immediately to help me take the luggage once we showed up in the road. Second, they were having construction and they made it up for offering daily snack and fruits in the restaurant in the afternoon.Mostly the hotel would ask you to "understand" but The Lapa went one step further. There was barely any noise. Third, at one night, the door lock failed. They quickly attended to the porblem. On the last day, we asked them to help find a shuttle to Sheraton in Cha-am. Surprisingly, the receptionist asked the management & offered us free shuttle as they wanted to apologize for the door failure. Actually, we were not even bothered by this incident but they did try to make it up. This is really a BIG plus. Fourth, we were offered upgrade! Buffet breakfast were offered daily, even on weekday. For a boutique hotel, I would say their selection was pretty good. I liked the pool which was big and comfortable. The pool had shallow section. So kids would be safe to play as well. For the room, the bathtub was really big. With the high ceiling and large area of the bathroom, it was very relaxing to soak into it. Daily the room was cleaned perfectly. There was free shuttle to Cicada (only fri-sun), clocktower (daily to the night market) and the Khao Takiab (daily). We stayed in Sheraton later on. Dull faces and the staff even didn't know how to escort us to take the elevator (no signage) when checking out with heavy luggages. With that comparison, the service I experienced in The Lapa was already truly exceptional and from their heart. With all these pluses, we love this hotel and will 100% stay there again whenever we come to Hua Hin again.
