Century Riverside Hue Hotel
Perfume River,Hue - View on map
"It is a very centrally located but quiet hotel, with one of the best river views available from hotels in Hue. Its 4* are adequate, as rooms are spacious and confortable, with the usual amenities, even if the bathroom was small. Every costumer services, at the front desk and room service, was perfect. They managed the booking of a private boat and a taxi and charged the official prices. The caffé and the restaurants are good. The Riverside restaurant has exceptional service at a very good price at the best setting. Terrace Restaurant has a good buffet for breakfast and lunch and a menu dinner with option of terrace tables. Beware of the mosquitos while dinning at either restaurant. "

Senna Hue Hotel

"Once we arrived at the hotel we checked in in few minutes and moved to our booked room. Unfortunately it didn’t have the bathtub as shown in our reservation, so we explained that to the staff and they were extremely gentle and upgraded us to the Premier Room for no additional charge. The Manager solved the problem immediately and was very professional in dealing with the issue. The room was fantastic, with stylish brand new furniture and lots of space available. In the afternoon they also sent us fruits and cookies. The shower is huge and water pressure was very strong as we liked. We had 2 TV in the room ( YouTube was not available) but there is plenty of movies in the database. We enjoyed breakfast buffet (served from 6 to 10 AM): the quality is good and there is also good variety of dishes available both for Vietnamese and foreigners (even if foods selection wasn’t very creative and didn’t change much during our stay: but almost any Hotel is the same). The Japanese style garden was wonderful and very well maintained and we enjoyed the swimming pool outside: the design is very modern and well maintained, also thanks to the supervision of the staff. On the last day it was also my birthday and the staff was extremely nice in providing me a gift cake. In general, we will be coming back to this wonderful brand new hotel in Hue! Thanks to the amazing staff! "

Rosaleen Boutique Hotel

"We did just a short 1 night stay in Hue and found this hotel to be one of the best we stayed during our Vietnam trip. The staff were super welcoming giving us some good recommendations for sightseeing. Madame Thu restaurant was excellent to try local delicacies and got gel nails done for only 100k dong in a nearby street. The room was spacious, extremely comfortable beds and super clean. Breakfast was an abundance of choice which lots of vietnamese choices which we loved. "

Lapochine Beach Resort (Formerly Ana Mandara Hue)
Thuan An Beach,Hue - View on map
"We stayed here for 2 nights and were not disappointed. Ana Mandara has extremely friendly staff and the best accommodation we had in Vietnam. The beach and swimming pool are beautiful and the restaurant serves delicious food although it is rather expensive Unfortunately the weather wasn't great but if the sun was out this would have been the perfect place! Another of the few negatives is that it is about 15km from Hue and although there was a shuttle to and from Hue twice a day this fills up pretty quickly, so book in advance. We will definitely go back but next time will spend a bit more time at this scenic gem."

Vedana Lagoon Wellness Resort & Spa
Lang Co,Hue - View on map
"Do not hesitate to stay here if you are looking for privacy in luxurious and peaceful surroundings. We were so rested after our 4 days. There is plenty to do from kayaking, pool, swimming, table tennis, DVDs, trips to Hue or just reading by the pool. Our private pool was lovely and even warm in mid-Nov. You can get around the resort via bikes (free) or the staff-driven electric buggy. The staff are courteous and eager to please. Our host, Thanh, was excellent and helped obtain an ao dai (national dress) on her day off - definitely service beyond the normal call. While the menu is limited, the food is delicious, especially the breakfasts. You can get cheaper drinks elsewhere in Vietnam, but they are still favourable by UK restaurant standards. You can get room service at a very reasonable price; we tried it for breakfast one day, which was a treat well worth having. Our villa (the honeymoon bungalow) was extremely comfortable and the bathroom opulently brilliant, with a large tub for 2 and a superb waterfall shower. The silk robes and slippers top it off perfectly. We went to Hue (the hotel do a daily complementary shuttle 0930-1530) and did the sightseeing thing as well as the market. Lots to see to even justify 2 trips. Taxi to or from Hue airport is around £14 one way. In sum, this is ideal for couples to step outside of the frenetic world of work and recharge batteries in fantastic scenery, extreme comfort and supported by first class staff. We will be returning for certain for a longer stay. "

Angsana Lang Co
Lang Co,Hue - View on map
"We had a last minute stay of 3 nights here due to a typhoon-fueled cancellation of a Halong Bay trip. The whole stay was very relaxing and effortless from start to finish. It began with a pleasant complimentary airport transfer and ended with one of the (very friendly) hotel staff personally delivering my necklace I had left behind in Angsana to our next hotel in Hue. She even insisted that the new hotel have us call her on her mobile so she could be sure the necklace had reached us safely, very impressive service. It being low seson the hotel was very quiet which just contributed to the relaxing atmosphere. We found the food to be expensive relative to prices elsewhere in Vietnam but this is to be expected with such a quality resort. That being said, it certainly wasn't any more expensive than prices we would happily pay in the UK. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming. They were happy to share insights on local places to visit and the Vietnamese langauge which made for interesting breakfast/ dinner conversation. The breakfast was so substantial we found we only needed 2 meals a day - there were extensive western and Vietnamese options. We also really enjoyed the fresh fruit provided in the room every day, just one of a series of much appreciated small touches. The beach was very clean and the sea inviting, although for most of our stay it was too rough to swim (due to the tail end of the typhoon in the north of the country). The pool complex was very large with small channels leading to 'hidden' pools round the back of the hotel, jacuzzi and river rapids. There seemed to be some development going on round the pool so I would imagine a pool side bar type facility come high season. There seemed to be a wealth of activities on offer, many complimentary. We booked a tandem bike to explore the resort- this isn't too large but includes some beautiful views. Thank you Angasana Langco! "

Saigon Morin Hotel
Perfume River,Hue - View on map
"like from another review, we nearly missed out on visiting hue, but we're glad that we didn't. and the saigon morin hotel made it our best hotel stay in vietnam.. it's a peaceful haven and great for relaxing from vietnam's city life. while you are here, don't miss on the indulging foot or body massage which costs half of the price you pay in the major cities. my hubby had a facial and he was very happy with it. it's located near to the hue imperial city and dongba market, both of which you shouldn't miss.. hire a guide for a one to two day tour of the imperial city, the thien mu pagoda and the imperial tombs. there is a wonderful local restaurant just 10 mins drive away that has serves hue delicacies at inexpensive prices. all in all, the saigon morin is a great hotel with a great location, with excellent service from the english-speaking hotel staff."

The Scarlett Boutique Hotel Hue
Hue City,Hue - View on map
"Good sleeping conditions, no outside noise in this smallish hotel, and the wifi was really good. While by this criteria the Scarlet is excellent hostelry -- like many in Vietnam in this category/price range -- we would by no means make claim that it is The Best hotel in Hue. Located down an alley set back from the street meant minimal views from the window/balcony -- and minimal motobike noise. Breakfast and coffee was a little disappointing, but not inedible for this three-day stay. Really nothing to complain about here, although if you prefer a bit more infrastructuure in your hotel or are planning a longer stay in Hue, a larger hotel might be more suitable. The Scarlet clientele appeared to be more westerners, and couples without children. And no PRC tour groups in evidence."

Traveler impressions of Hue

More about Hue

There was a time when Hue was the imperial capital of Vietnam. This historical place has given the city a very special charm as it houses former government buildings and very ornate structures that once belonged to royalty.

The city is centrally located in the middle of Vietnam, making it easily accessible from the bigger cities either by air or ground transportation. There are daily flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City into Hue’s Phu Bai International Airport, although the flight schedules change according to the weather. Additionally, there are options for taking taxis or public ground transportation from surrounding cities, depending on budget and scheduling needs. Hotels near Phu Bai Airport are conveniently located in the city center, convenient for those traveling or sticking around in the city.

Perfume River is one of Hue’s most famous attractions, upon which can be found the Tombs of the Emperors. While the tombs are accessible by bike, the best way to see them is by a river boat tour which gives the best experience of the landmarks. Some of the tombs, such as the Tomb of Tu Duc, are very well maintained, while some have fallen into disrepair. These tombs were built and very ornately designed by former emperors of Vietnam, and definitely worth a visit for their cultural and historic significance.

There’s much more to see and do around Hue, and the interactive map on this page is a great way to find out where the hotels, attractions, and must-see destinations can be found.
