Innsbruck is both a small city by the size and great by the history and sports/activities available all around.
Whatever it's about shopping or just walking around the city's feeling is relaxing. With most shops closing around 18:00 you might have to hurry to spend your money but afterwise will have plenty of time to relax in the numerous, bars, cafes and restaurants available. Most restaurant have english speaking staff or english menus. The downtown area is small enough to be navigated on foot but several bus lines and trams make it convenient to move to less travelled areas. The tourism office was helpfull as well as the locals. Great place to spend a week-end.
Quite a fair bit of walking so ensure you have a good pair of shoes. We went up to Norkette for trekking.
It is a very beautiful alp especially that day weather is fantastic. Worth the time and effort. We took the cable car up so that saves us energy and time. Small city with a lot of culture and history. Beautiful city.
Amazing scenery, everything is within walking distance. Poor wifi at hotel. Shops close early around 6pm, do stock up water before the shop closes.
Innsbruck is a beautiful city in the heart of the alps. It is surrounded by the mountain. Great for sport as well as night activities.
most beautiful city in Austria; go on the Olympic bob sled run in winter - most awesome experience; mountains are breathtaking; chairlifts operate all year so easy to get up; great for skiing or just for walking; compact city so very easy to walk around & get a feel for place; fantastic food especially the "speck" - cured ham that the area is famous for
