Discover the neighborhoods of Jinan

When traveling in China, the city of Jinan isn’t one that really jumps off the map. But for those looking for a sweet and simple escape filled with casual exploration, this is the place to be. With more than 700 springs scattered throughout the city, this capital of the Shandong Province is known as the City of Springs. Travelers can arrive via Jinan Yaoqiang International Airport which is set 40km outside the city or via the train which has a station in the city center.

Jinan is well-known for its springs, and there are 72 artesian springs that have gained popularity throughout the city’s history. Baotu Spring is considered the greatest of them all, and it is said that your Jinan tour will be spoiled if you do not drink tea brewed with Baotu Spring water. Black Tiger Spring has three carved tiger heads gurgling spring water, and Five Dragon Pool has a few natural springs, ancient Chinese architecture, and a temple for a Tang Dynasty army general. Daming Lake Park is a top attraction within the city for the scenic Daming Lake. This lake was formed from the many springs and is noted for its constant water level as drought and heavy rains seem to have no effect on it. Thousand-Buddha Mountain rounds out the top three destinations to visit in Jinan with its Buddha statues carved into the rocks, caves, and scenic areas.
