Kagoshima hotels & accommodations

You can never expect large rooms this category of hotels in Japan; but I was really pleased to see how at this establishment they have managed really, really cleverly to make a very comfortable and functional room out of a tiny space. Also - very unusual for this kind of hotel - they have separated the bedroom from the rest of the room by a sliding door, thus offering ...

If I had one gripe with the hotel (and is probably hotels in Japan but I haven't stayed in many) is that they didn't let me go to my room early even if the room was empty and so ready for the guest. That kind of meant the first day hanging around as it wasn't easy to split the luggage into what I needed and what I didn't. But, everything else was pretty amazing. They m...

If you're looking for a convenient place to stay in Kagoshima without spending a ton of money, this is your place. Obviously you can go to a better hotel in Kagoshima. If you're looking for pampering, go to the Shiroyama. However, if you want a cheap place to stay that has everything you need and a few perks, I suggest The Richmond.

Hotel local nearby 2 km away from JR and shopping mall; free parking, i think it is the biggest scale hotel in Kagoshima, lots of facilities including children indoor play room and free hot spring. At least 5 restaurants for choices. Brilliant

Remm Kagoshima is on the main street of Kagoshima City. Shopping areas is just downstairs. Excellent design features right from entrance to the room. There are a lot of user-friendly design inside the room, for example, multi-plug charger, massage chair, washroom is close to the windows while keeping the sleeping area in the inner part of the room, etc. Room size is ...

Went to Kagoshima to do some sightseeing. The location was amazing! You can take the airport bus to Kagoshima Chou Station and the hotel is right next to the bus stop. It is very convenient. Although the room was a bit small (standard size in Japan) it was incredibly comfortable with amazing views! The volcanic side is very beautiful! Didn't have a chance to try the ho...

The hotel is located 20 minutes walk from Kagoshima-Chuo station in a sidelane. In the evening there are a lot of restaurants in the surround. The sights of Kagoshima are easy to reach by tram or just walking. The Blue Wave Inn is a good hotel which a lot of services for the guests, rooms are nice, clean and spacey. Reception is friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay ...

Hotel located in the center of shopping street. Only a couple of minutes away from tram station, few minutes away from gourmet street, so it's very convenience. The room size is Japan standard. The bed is ok. Staffs are helpful with a great deal of service mind. We love their breakfast which is very yummy and differ from other hotels. We'll stay here again if we go to ...

I stayed at this hotel for one night with my wife. We were in town for our kids' swim meet that was taking place at the Kamoike Park Pool. The room was small, but clean, with a double bed. The best thing about the hotel is the location. It is connected to Kagoshima Chuo station, so it was literally a 1 minute walk from exiting the Shinkansen gates to get to the hotel e...

Nice location, which is very near to the Kagoshima JR station. The service is awesome and the staff offered me to have an early check-in at around 1pm. The most satisfying is the breakfast. It is absolutely out of expectation! Highly recommend to others.

I spent 3 nights in Kagoshima, visiting Sakurajima once and focusing the rest of my time on Meiji restoration tourism and Japanese history. The Hotel was a couple tram stops from the JR Kagoshima station, quick enough to reach on foot even with a large rucksack and really close to everything in general. Located on a busy street, there were lots of shops and restaurants...

The hotel is very close to Kagoshimachuo station (5 minute walk); ie the last and southernmost Shinkansen terminal in Japan. We could see the Shinkansen plaform from our room. Note that Kagoshimachuo and Kagoshima stations are two different station in the same city; the latter is far smaller, older and is less important. You'll pass by a Bic Camera store upon exiting t...

When you book online it is difficult to know what you will be getting. Sunflex was one of the best hotels we stayed in while on our trip around Kyushu. Firstly the location in Kagoshima was brilliant, being just walking distance to shops and the waterfront. It was a quiet location too. The room was not as small as some, as it had a small entrance a queen size bed and a...

The Hotel is located very centrally for Kagoshima and has extremly friendly staff, also English speaking. They supported me for re-arranging my reservations in other hotels and transportation as my schedule was mixed up due to the earth-quake. One evening I enjoyed one of the best Kaiseki dinners in Japan - very fresh, full of vaiety: just delicious. Any time again!

Friendly, relaxed hot spring hotel; common areas are elegant and cozy; great rooftop bath with view of Mt. Shiroyama; professional staff. Only drawback is slightly far from the main train station. Also, the western-style single rooms probably leave a bit to be desired compared to the other types, all of which appeared to be much nicer; but I have no complaints as the r...

Compared to most Japanese hotels this one is more spacious and I'm happy to have booked it. It is just one kilometer away from Kagoshima station. The members of the staff are very polite and kind. It is in the middle of everything and is just a few meters from the Meiji Restoration Museum. I would definitely book again should I decide to go back to Kagoshima.

This is one of the best hotels we have stayed during our 2 weeks Kyushu trip. Superb service & friendly staff who made us feel so at home & made our trip so memorable. Room is spacious with amazing Sakurajima view. Love the onsen with fantastic view especially after a day of walking. Hotel also provides shuttle service to Kagoshima-chuo Station & Tenmonkan so it is ve...

I booked ace inn Kagoshima hotel and l have not received any information about hotel lexton Kagoshima, l spent a long time on the street looking, why's that? Can someone tell me what is going on with the name of the hotel, even the hotel staff could not tell me the reason

I was impressed when I saw the bathtub in the balcony. The room was modern and clean. The hotel located in Temmonkan, just a few mins walk to the bus station / airport shuttle/ city tram, it is very convenient. Highly recommended to anyone who's going to visit Kagoshima

Location is just next to the ferry from Kagoshima, which makes it accessible. Rooms are huge but had a very grassy smell. Overall clean and comfortable with a great view. Fair warning, there is no shower within the room so you have to do that in the connecting magma onsen which was so-so in maintenance since it is a very touristy attraction on Sakurajima. In a nutshell...

Convenient location, just 2 mins to Tenmonkan Tram station. Airport bus also stops here. Staffers are friendly but many of them can't speak English. Room is small but very clean. Breakfast is simple but fine for me. I would suggest to provide more hangers, 2 hangers are not enough. The very best is the hotel provide a cellphone to guest. You can make free local ...
Cheap places to stay in Kagoshima

Good value. Great location near the ferry terminals and shopping/dining areas (~5mins walk). Dorms and facilities are clean and tidy with air-con (a must in summer!). Relaxed vibe. Kagoshima is covered in a layer of ash though, so expect a bit of grey powder around. The friendly English speaking staff are helpful with maps, etc. There's a few rental bikes out front (...

The location is super central in Kagoshima, easy access to public transportation and sightseeing in the city. The hotel itself is amazingly clean and the bed is comfy and the staffs are super kind and friendly!!! It was my first time staying in capsule hotel , and this is beyond my expectations!!! Great value with great service!!! I would definitely recommend everyone...

We stayed in six different hotels on our most recent travels in Japan and Nanshukan came up tops. The room was a lot larger than all the other places we stayed at. Although a little dated (which is totally OK), it was very clean and comfortable. The Japanese breakfast served was generous, wholesome and absolutely delicious. The one thing that will stick with us, though...

Simple room set-up, yet very convenient. The shower area is a mini-bathtub, and vending machine in the same floor. There are lots of manga in the reception lounge, too. And the location is very good, close to Tenmonkan-Dori Rail station (not for JR Pass). About 35 minutes walk to Kagoshima-Chuo Station for JR Pass (including the Shinkansen).

There is a five minute walk to the tram stop which takes you to Kagoshima Chuo station and five minutes in the other direction is the main shopping district of Tenmondo. The relaxation/health facilities at the hotel are excellent with a Stone Bath experience for women and a sauna/bath for men.

The staff are really friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is very good. The hotel itself is a bit dated but clean. Rooms are of good size. Washing machines and dryers are available for free -- you even get the detergent for free! Conbini is right under the hotel, tram stops in front of the door.

The sea view room of Gracias Guest House gives you a very homey taste of living in Japan. Its balcony grants a spectacular view of the Sakurajima and the sea that greets you brightfully every morning. The convenience store, supermarkets, shopping centre are all within easy reach. You can cook, enjoy a drink at the balcony and be immersed in the everchanging view of the...

From Kagoshima City, you can go to Sakurajima Island easily by ferryboat. Streetcars are handy to ride, comfortable and easy to find the way.
nice and helpful people, delicious food. however the frequency of the bus schedule is not enough. it costs around one hour in between next bus.
Dec is not a good time to go to Kagoshima as it is wet and rainy every afternoon with little to do except to soak in the hot bath!
Kagoshima is on the southern tip of Japan, right on the water. It has excellent museums and a bus that circles the most popular sight seeing spots.
