Kamphaengphet is a provincial capital of Thailand. The city is located in Lower Northern Thailand, flanked to the east by riverine flatlands and to the west by forested mountains. The area has historical significance, serving as a strategic frontline frontier since Sukothai was the kingdom’s capital.

Kamphaengphet is great to visit for the exploration of ancient ruins and an escape into the wilderness. Have a dip in the hot springs of Phra Ruang or trek out to one of the national parks. A must-visit and probably the highlight of the city is Kamphaengphet Historical Park. Now a World Heritage Site, these ruins are just north of the city and can provide a captivating glimpse into the past. The Kamphaengphet National Museum also makes for a great stop. Plenty of dining opportunities can be had in the town center, including at the Night Plaza.
