It's a kind of bay city in south-east sulawesi. The food is dominated with seafood. From here you can go to Wakatobi for snorkling and diving.

Used to be part of South Sulawesi regency during colonialism, Kendari was appointed as the capital of South East Sulawesi in early 80's.
Simple place not much of attractions to visit but it is definitely a good experience to understand a local culture and unlike a mainstream capital city residents.
