Nice basic Treehouse accommodation in Khao Sok village, a little apart from the main road leading up to the national park entrance. Quite a lot of bugs due to being up a tree in/next to rainforest. It's a beautiful place and next to the river, which I imagine you could paddle in (but we didn't have time). Staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing I didn't appreciate was the hard sell of expensive tours and excursions in and around the national park by the owner as soon as we arrived. This made us feel stressed rather than relaxed.

The setting and location are lovely. Staff is very sweet, but it is hard to get a clear explanation on questions (language barrier), yet this non-info is given with a very positive attitude and a smile and eventually you figure it all out. The day tour to the lake was excellent, not crowded (14 people max) and guide was good. Price is same as everywhere. The rooms are very small. Not a chair to sit inside, nor place to store a bag. Do not pay to upgrade to the honeymoon suite, it is 50% square footage of bathroom and bedroom remains same small size as the standard tree house. Unless you are looking to take a bath in the jungle, then choose this room. Overall we had a nice experience.

i arrived at nung house very early in the early morning since my bus arrived at 4:45 am. shortly thereafter i was shuttled to nung house. i woke up the hotel manager who promptly showed me to my room. now i would like to add that this is thailand, not new york city and there are some things that you have to endure when traveling - bugs, sometimes less than clean accomodations, etc... the room was very nice by thai standards. i must comment that the bed was very comfortable and that has been (lack of comfortable bed) a big complaint of many places i have stayed in thailand. the resort is quiet and peaceul, the staff are friendly and gladly help you book excursions, adding them to your bill so you can pay eerything as you check out. it is only a 5 minute walk to khao sok national park and in between is the town o khao sok for all your ammenities that the hotel doesn't proide. nung house is very affordable compared to many of the other resorts i looked at when booking. and please don't think just because you are paying upward of baht for your resort that it is going to be reflected in the quality of your stay. i walked through many other resort hotels when i was there and all oered littel in the way of improements from what i was getting at nung house. in fact at one of the most expensie resort hotels i happened upon a ery angry australian guy who was yelling at the staff because the water had not been fixed in his room for 2 days. the only thing that i found to not be so great at the hotel was the restaurant, but there is a lovely little restaurant in the town that serves outstanding food and for a very reasonable price. i would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

If you are in this part of Khao Sok National Park and you want a crisp and clean room, with plenty of space, at a very nice price, do yourself a favour and check-in to this hotel. Unlike other hotels at or near the Sok river, this place is mold free and the rooms are bright. Perhaps it is not quite the 'genuine riverside experience' as you might want, but if you wish to retire, after a long trek in the steaming muddy jungle, into a clean location with an excellent shower (and water pressure) and a quite and good airconditioning, then this is the place. They only do the standard american breakfast, and that gets stale after 2 days. But at this price, who cares!

Love, love, love Khaosok Las Orquideas!! This is like walking into a secret, tropical paradise in a great location in Khao Sok, a 3 minute walk to the main restaurants and shops. The rooms are large and tasteful, the grounds are a tropical paradise, including a relaxing pool area. Breakfast is great, the staff is fantastic, and the lake tour that they sell can't be beat....lake cabins with bathrooms, a great guide, AND Las Orquideas even sends you off to the lake with a care package including head-lights, towels, soap, toilet paper and more!! The 7 chalets at the hotel are situated up a slight hillside, but that shouldn't be any problem for anyone under 75. We stayed 1 night before our lake trip and 1 night after, and we were SO glad that we didn't rush away. The staff, including Toy and Aruni, made everything absolutely wonderful for our entire stay.

I stayed here for my last night in the Khao Sok National Park area, after having stayed at another resort that had fan-only rooms with an open gap between the walls and ceiling. I was so delighted to come to this resort and be greeted by the super nice Miss Sia. The heat is so strong and humid in the area, it can get you really tired if you are exposed to it all day long, even a fan won't do enough for you. This is why I was so happy to be in a room that was properly sealed, made out of concrete, and with air conditioning. After 2 days of lots of activities at the national park, I wanted to get some good rest and this resort was what I exactly what I needed: soft, comfortable beds; air conditioning; great shower; tasty and cheap food; great staff. For all of you who are thinking to book a resort without air conditioning at Khao Sok, let me tell you something: it's worth paying a bit more and sleeping well and feeling good in air conditioning after a full day in the heat! Recommended

We had a realy pleasant stay at this resort. We stood here for 5 nights, mu (the manager) arranged the transfer to the hotel from phuket airport for us. We arrived lately and ontop our bags stuck in Abu Dhabi so we arrived with nothing but the clothes we wear. The busdriver kindly stopped at khao lak to that we could buy some clothes and hygienic stuff. Nevertheless we arrived at 10pm at the resort they offered us some realy delicious food for dinner. The place itself fantastic, you will find nice and clean rooms, nestled right in the trees of this tropical forest. You are surrounded just by the nature. At nighttime, just sit in the terrace in front of your room and listen to the sound of nature. Compared to most of the other places around khao sok, this one is away from the main streets and you are not bothered by the sound of cars and buses. A few hundred meters from the resort, you will find a beautiful place where you can take a swim in the khao sok river. That was a great refreshment and far better than any kind of a swimming pool could be. If you do not know how to get there, the staff will of course help you out ;-) The overall friendliness of the staff was amazing, the quality of the food also. Especially Mu was extremely helpful and realy took care of us and our welfare. We also booked two tours through the resort, we went for the elephant tour and the Cheow Lan Lake Tour, both trips where very nice and we had a lot of fun. We definitely recommend Rock and Treehouse Resort and will come back when we are in Khao Sok next time!

Well, I went there few days ago,wanna say good for relaxing,next to the khao sok river and national khao sok. It's very good for everyone who love adventure in the wild forest and fresh nature. For service of the resort, they are very kind to me. I went there by VIP bus from Bkk to Khao Sok , arrived there 6.30 am then the resort pick us up, by free service, about 10 minutes from bus station. And the resort let us chick in about 7 am. Very kind of you, thank you. Good food, room and not expensive. Then staffs there they are very friendly. PS. If you want them clean the room, you need to tell the reception only.

Very nicelly located just 5 minutes walking from the entrance of the Khao Sok National Park. Some nice restaurants very close by. Room is very large and loks very new and clean. Large bathroom with good warm shower. Daytrips can be booked right in the hotel. Would certainly stay here again. Very nice peacefull atmosphere in this neighborhood. Really liked it here. Great value for money.

Wonderful nature experience, tree houses were clean as they can be as tree houses. Well maintained, spacious with everything you need (we had a family room). Upon arrival we were introduced to jungle rules: don't leave windows or doors open especially with food inside the room. We knew why instantly - monkeys were around all the time, very cool for the kids and us to watch them climb the trees or even sit beside us (which was still a little intimidating), the river is on the premises which was a perfect getaway for a swim, using a gigantic swing, building a dam or go canoeing or bamboo raftin Food was very good, breakfast was simple but made with love. The hosts were very helpful with organizing transportationnor tours (elephant sanctuary - kids loved it!) Only negative point are the mosquitonets, which are to small and not suited for the big beds. But overall a very nice stay in a very nice resort! Thank you, Khao Sok Nature Resort team for 2 great days!

From Suratthani, there are mini-buses which will take you to Khao Sok, every one hour. From Khao Sok minbus to hotel, transportation is provided by the hotel. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the hotel owner and were directly taken to the room. Cottages are clean and bed was covered with good mosquito net ensuring sound sleep during the night. This hotel is run by the family and they provide various tour options at competitive rates. We opted for one day jungle hike tour, guided by Mr. Kittipon (Manager). He has good knowledge of national park and this one day tour exceeds expectation. Each cottage is provided with hammock and two sitting chairs to relax, with a fire place. Wi-Fi is available at hotel lobby, slow but manageable.

Khao Sok Green Valley Resort was an idyllic place to stay at in Khao Sok. The price is inexpensive ($20 USD) for a budget bungalow room, with a king bed, beautiful Garden View from our patio and spacious bathroom. The Restaurant in the front is a comfortable space to dine any time of the day, or to relax after a day of activities. Staff is very friendly and helpful and can arrange any day trips needed. Communication is also fluid prior to the trip and even after. I would highly recommend this budget resort for your visit to Khao Sok!

Smiley is damn near my favorite hotel on our trip around Thailand. We stayed in the stone bungalows which were excellent! I loved swinging peacefully in the hammock while looking at the mist snake its way around the limestone cliffs. No air condition but it was not needed. Staff was excellent and there is an adorable scruffle dog on site to play with. I would give this hotel 3.5 stars realistically but it is a 4.8 stars in my personal opinion. Love this place and will be booking again when we go back. Oh and eat at Nong Sue's at the bottom of the road on the left. Best in Khao Sok!

All the reviews here are true - Zunny truly is the sweetest, most thoughtful host youll have. Even though I booked my overnight stay at Khao Sok with another company, he still provided me with a dry bag and shoes for the trip. (Tip: book your overnight stay through Zunny!) He also helped me and the other travellers book journeys to wherever we were going - and even provided us with snacks for the journey. The hostel is amazing - one of the most comfortable matresses I’ve had in Thailand, the bathrooms spotless, AC in the room. Since its a small hostel you’ll meet other travellers very quickly and you will probably all hang out in the chill out area of the hostel. If you’re going to Khao Sok, stay at Jungle Hostel!! Can’t recommend highly enough

Beautiful cottage in the middle of the rainforest. Extremely peaceful and a good place to start Khao Sok adventures or just to relax and behold the beauty of nature. The restaurant was good and not too expensive even though it is the only option for those residing there. We took part in the elephant bathing experience of the Khao Sok elephant sanctuary and want to point out that the elephant was well treated and not chained or anything as can often be read in other 'sanctuary' reviews.

Good location, 10 min walking from the khao sok entrance, amazing food definitely reccomend eating here, wifi only worked in some areas, room was clean but there was a lot of bugs but that is expected when you stay at a bungalow near a national park. Host was so nice, extremely helpful in tour and transportation booking and was able to meet all of our needs. Motorbike rentals are available for 300 baht/day

this hotel was excellent value for the money. we stayed in the standard rooms (the upgrade from the chalet rooms), and they were exactly what we were looking for after a long day of travel. the bathrooms are beautiful stone, and the bed was very comfy - we had amazing sleeps. the family that manages the hotel was super friendly, and did such an excellent job assisting us during our stay. we had a super friendly welcome, they did a great job with the food (even making our included breakfast early for us on the morning we departed), and assisted us by arranging our transportation to koh phi phi. they do book all kinds of tours on site as well. the scenery in khao sok is very beautiful, and the resort landscape is very pretty and green. the restaurant was also really pleasant to sit in, and they cooked excellent thai food. would definitely stay here again, very relaxing!

Last year my boyfriend and i where here on holiday. The owner has two accomodations in Khao sok. This one, that has no luxery at all, But you should know that before you book. And one of the most luxeres hotels in this area. The funny thing that i did not know was that my parents went at the same time as me to Khao Sok but stayed in the more luxeres hotel from the same owner. Therefore we booked several trips together. I would recommend this lodge to every backpacker who is young and don't have a lot of money to spend. But you should not be affraid for insects,bats or leeches

I stayed in Khao Sok for 5 days, such a lovely place for a quiet getaway in the jungle. The cabanas are small with fan (no aircon), a simple setup but good value for the money. The hotel is not in the main road, but within a easy walk of it. We walked late at night with no issue. Continental breakfast and bottled water is included. The staff is friendly and helpful. I totally recommend it!
