This small village is mostly a tourist destination, being the gateway to the incredibly preserved jungles of Khao Sok National Park
Getting to Khao Sok isn’t too hard, especially if traveling from major cities like Bangkok or Phuket as the local carriers all operate domestic flights to the city. There are also several boats and speedboats from surrounding islands, and several minibuses departing to and from Krabi. Although the city is small, it’s a popular enough destination to have attracted many hotels and guesthouses, from which one can choose the right style and size of accommodation while visiting the area.
In addition to the national park and beautiful views of the water and spectacular walking trails, don’t miss a visit to Ratchaprapa Forest Park
for even more exposure to this area’s natural wonders. Most of the trails and forests are fairly easy to tackle by even beginners, but those so inclined can also take advantage of local tour guides to really get to experience the area.
There’s a lot more to see and do in Khao Sok, and the best way to discover what else this city has to offer in terms of attractions, landmarks, and hotels is by exploring the interactive map on this page.
