Perfect place to be with yourself, hideaway from city life but still having convenience support your stay, you can plan for various activities, adventure in national park, romance with your couple, relax surrounding with forest atmosphere, and chilling with sight seeing and eating!
Sadly, Khao Yai has become an upmarket get away for HiSo Thais. Have been many times but each time I go I find that access to areas has become more difficult because of new developments, motels, golf course etc.
This is still potentially a lovely area to visit, but the powers that be seem to be happy for visitors to do this in the confines of their own vehicles.
KY is a very relaxing place to visit. I recommended Primo Piazza to be visit in the morning , can have tones of photos taken in there, must try visit the grape farms (vineyard) nearby if there's time.
The bloom, PB Valley, Gran Monte Valley, Ribs Mann for food.A very relaxing place compare to the city of Thai. Never had the chance to visit KY national park but will sure go back to KY one day !
Khao Yai is the best place to be if you want some peace & quiet. The scenery is so beautiful & lush that for a moment you forget that you are only a few hours away from busy Bangkok!!
Its in the mountains, surrounding by nature and fresh mountain breeze. there are lots of places that you can visit and take photos, and wild life are to be seen in this area also.
Wanna get out of Bangkok ? Rebound with the nature ? Go to Khao Yai ! A lot of differents outdoor activities, book a Hotel Resort/Spa there and discover another face of Thailand.
Taste a real Steak, visit the Cowboy Town and farm, ride an elephant in the moutain and much more !
Khao Yai is located in Nakhon Ratchasima, the largest province in Thailand. Khao Yai National Park is fairly large (300 km2) and hotels in the surrounding area are spread out.
You'll want a a car to travel between the hotel, the park, and restaurants. There are often 10-20 kilometers between destinations. The area features several vineyards including Grande Monte and PB Valley, both with restaurants and tours. There are also a couple of "fake" Italian Villages like Palio, which appeal to Thai tourists who may never see the real thing. It's Thai "cowboy country" and the area if filled with steakhouses including a popular one at the vast Chokchai Farm, which is a tourist destination unto itself. Khao Yai is a place for families, road bikers, nature lovers and people who want a break from the big city. It is not a party destination.
First of all, there is no City of Khaoyai, nor a town, nor even a village !! It is an area, and a large one at that, adjoining the less up-market Amphur of Pak Chong.
It houses a mass of developments from the superb down to the barely adequate, at prices ranging from 100 million baht down to under 1 million. The area is sometimes called the Alpine region of Thailand due to its higher elevation and pollution free air and ozone levels!
Need a car to come around. Golf and Mountainbike, trekking in the National park. No city life at all, most resorts and restaurants are based on local Thai tourism.
Its a nice place with mountains. People are friendly and helpful. If you want to rent a scooter, it is easily available outside of the entrance of Khao Yai park.
You would definitely need a transportation to explore the places.
2 hour drive from bangkok - if you have a few days come and stay in mti maya - you would not be disappointed - however do not order japanese food at the hotel
Khaoyai has great view. There are many hotels to choose from. They are all locals hotels so, please don't expect a 5 star service hotel in the area.
The weather is very nice, even if it rains, it can give you some spectacular view of the mountains.
KHAO YAI is a very very famous place for a weekend get away! Many Locals love going there! Some go for rest, Some go for Food, Some go for activity.
We when to visit sun flower but we have to paid for ticket , we travel with 3 years old kid and have to pay ticket for kid too it's unfair
Perfect place to rest your body and mind if you want to feel like you are in Toscana or Old English country home or Provance in France.
A place to recommend to friends. Feeling peaceful, natural environment and nice place for photo shooting , side seeing and relaxing.
Beautiful scenery of forests and mountains. Enjoyed the winery and vineyard tour but the quality of the wine was uninspiring.
Golf is always a pleasure due to number of courses and scenic layout. Driving in and around is a bit tricky but not a huge problem with directions from the locals. Will checkout the dam and chockchai farms next trip back.
the city is not very far from Bangkok. There is some artificial attractive place to make you some enjoy and sight-seeing.
This is a good traveling place for native person during new-year season because of good atmosphere which is suit to drinking and sing a song along a bonfire and a camping.
Good for people who wanna stay away from the town for a couple days :) but still got some good food and good facilities
Khaoyai's main attraction is the National park which is a Natural World Heritage Site so this says it all about it.
If you take your own car, be careful on the gasoline. because there is lake of gasoline station around this area
If you like moutain and thinking of 1-2 nights getaway from Bangkok.Khaoyai may be one of your destination.
Winter may be nice to stay due to the cold weather.
It is much quiet as compared to Bangkok. Chance to appreciate nature and move away from electronic gadgets.
Just relax and use the time to look at the flowers and one can certainly re-charge as there is no traffic jam in Khai Yai
Khao Yai is know for its famous national park. The city itself is a distance away from the national park.
It is a small city (Pak Chong) but the road connecting Pak Chong city to Khao Yai national park is full with small restaurants and hotels. The weather is very nice pretty much all year around. It is cool when anywhere else in Thailand is rather hot. Those who like cycling would love khao yai. Also those who like walking in the woods, seeing waterfall and occasionally spotting wild animals would love Khao Yai.
We went to the cave template it was a nice place to visit. All the food at various restaurants were good.
Service was excellent and it was a great trip for relaxation for sure.
Go to National Park, Palio, PB Valley wineyard, some restaurants like Castle Restaurant and Primo Piazza
Love this place, it is better to travel to this area during Thailand Winter time to enjoy the scenario.
During this time it is more packed then usual. So, if you love the peace and quite with less people and cars on the street, come around here on a THailand summer time and avoid the winter time. There are tons of restaurant and sightseeing, just need to do some research and location before heading out.
The "city" is very small and most people go there for the National Park... so there isn't much to do.
.. Nonetheless, I love it as it is very quiet and peaceful!
It is a good place to visit during the winter in Thailand. Cool breeze and fresh air are all around.
