"We had a lovely 2 night stay at Sunborneo. The island is beautiful with rustic and charming chalets overlooking the ocean. The meals are all provided (breakfast, lunch, and dinner!) and water activities are included (kayaking and snorkeling). We really enjoyed the time away from all the crowds and noise of Kota Kinabalu. Be aware that this isn't a luxury resort experience - which was quite enjoyable for us but may not be for everyone. There's no electricity in the room between 7am-6pm (as the generator is only used at night). The roosters and birds will wake you up at 5am, no doubt about it. And the food is all provided, but the meals do get repetitive, so I wouldn't really suggest staying for more than a few days. The ocean and beach is unfortunately quite dirty. There's a lot of trash (plastic bottles and such) that get brought in by the high tide and left behind once the tide recedes. It's unfortunate as this really isn't the fault of the resort, but it does dampen the experience."
