We stayed here for 3 nights. Firstly, it is a gorgeous place, with a well-done set up to see the most beautiful sunsets and chill with food and beer. Rooms: They provide great value for money with all the basic amenities in place, cleanlinesss, beautiful sea view etc. Service: The service is good for the price you pay. Not exactly proactive but very prompt if you say/mention something. The best part about the resort is the manager- Mr. PK. He is one of the most hospitable guys- with always a friendly smile on his face. He will go out of his way to help you and provide you anything you need. We also liked another guy working there- Toby. He gave us suggestions about where to see shining plankton and also helped us out with kayaks. All in all- one of the best places we have stayed at and most definitely will recommened. Only minor shortfalls can be: No beach- but you can always go for a swim still in the ocean or their infinity pool Situated away from ‘happening’ area in Koh Mak: Migh

We stayed for three nights and we cannot praise green view resort enough, the staff are very friendly and will do anything to help during your stay, they took us a good 10mins drive to hire bicycles then again to hire a moto and then again the return these as well as picking us up from the pier and taking us when we departed. You really need a moto if staying here as it is quite out of the way, the roads are very easy to tide on and very very little traffic. The surroundings of this accommodation is fabulous with a little pier that you can sit on, they have free kayaks for use by residents and the food cooked by mamma is outstanding..... If you like tom yum then you must try it, also the papaya seafood and the pad thai... Good value. The rooms are basic but worth the money. Koh mak is a hidden gem and the beaches are beautiful, if you go to koh mak we highly recommend visiting the banana sunset bar/restaurant (formally known as 'the rock') as they have excellent food, great cocktails all at prices that cannot be beaten on the island, and one of the best sunsets we have ever seen.

We had good time in monkey island with my girlfriend, the place is a bit wearn out, but its a true holiday resort! The host in the reseption is very helpfull and true 5 star boss, he helped us with a toilet problem by giving us another room, for toilet use. So the problem was solved very smoothly, he took good care from us. other restaurant staff doesnt speak very good english and we had a bit trouble because of my girlfriend peanut allergy. But i will recommend this place its one of the best bungalow resorts in koh mak :)

The personnel her is the treasure. We felt here like home beacuse the people run this resort. Resort doesn´t have so sandy beach but it has beautiful coral reef so if you like snorkel you will love it here. It is really peaceful place with nice people that can speek english which is actually rare in Thailand. We miss them already... We had cheap bungalows and it was ok but i recommend you the new bugalows they looked really great. At the night there is houndreds harmless and funny hermid crabs on the beach. :) We were also on Koh Kood and Koh Chang so we can compare and Koh Mak is the best island with the beautiful small islands close like Koh Kham with the best beach we ever saw. Island is clean with no garbage Almost without tourist, polite locals...

We traveled as a group of 4 down to Koh Mak. This was a pretty good place to stay. It is a bit far from the beach, but having a motor bike pretty much solves that problem. The rooms were okay, don't expect an immaculate spread, but for the time spent there, it was more than okay. The resort itself is beautiful, very clean and taken care of and, while the rating I give seems average, it is all made up for by the tremendous service and friendliness we got from Lucca, who with his wife, owns the resort. An amazing person who will help you with anything that you need. His service was excellent and if you are looking for an affordable place to stay on Koh Mak, I do recommend this resort.

having toured 3 weeks in thailand with sightseings and transportation, we looked for a relaxing place for a week. baan koh mak more than delivered on this, and we especially took to our hearts the great staff, kids-friendly, but still keeping a professional distance. the room were nice, small but clean and with a great design. the hammock in front of each house was the icing on the cake. the resort is situated right next to the beach, with a beach bar where the bartender sometimes gets on the beach in the evening and performs a fire-show. the sunset from the beach is a must. koh mak is a relaxing, quiet island, but still with enough choices for other eating places.

I stayed at this hotel for 3 days. If you book the hotel via the hotel itself, then you can purchase a tour package which is a very good deal inc. all meals, snorkeling tour, island tour, kayak, and more. The hotel has its pier, so choose the speed boat wisely from Trad to Koh Mak, since each speed boat will reach at different piers on Koh Mak. The room and facilities are okay. You can hire motorcycle to travel on your own on this small island. Check the map carefully, since it's not that clear and may get lost. Food is okay. Drawback of this hotel is .. it allows group tour to have activities, and the noise is so loud. They can even have an outdoor karaoke even until 10pm .. If you don't mind about the noise, then this is a good choice. For me, I'm happy with my stay, and will be back here again. PS: Bed is very hard, but not the problem for me too.

Our stay was excellent, originally booked for 2 nights ended up staying 7 in total as the location was so good and very relaxing. The bed was very hard, even by Thai standards and bathroom at bit dangerous due to door not opening fully, it caught on the roof and strange uneven floor that got very slippy when wet. But great little balcony sitting out space with room for a hammock. Overall if you want a great little room/shack in a great location at a great price and dont mind not having all mod cons you won't be disapointed. Thanks Koh Mak cottages we had a very chilled lovely time. (PS, Agoda how can you rate someone on food when they dont provide it?)

The location is fine, we may walk to the right (the west corner) to enjoy one quiet beach without people. Sleeping inside the room, the big sound of wave may come to your dream. I like the distance from the room to the sea, which is quite near. Although it looked not clean from outside, it was indeed relatively clean inside the room. The tube water flow was quite large, which was good for us to wash clothes. There was also one water plastic tube in front of the house for people to wash their feet when they step back from the sand beach. There is a bit poor smell inside the restroom, probably due to floor drain. Generally, it is fine, and good in busy season.

Sad... very beatiful place and nice staff... good location. But hot water was not working, and water smelled like metal. Found twice scorpions in the shower. Wood in there full of termites and as well some pieces of the terrace. Last day, water pump completely out of order... (was repared during the day) No restaurant at all at that moment of the year (except for the very very nice breakfast we had every morning), no bike rental. (they rent us a motorbike) Sad cause we had expectations about the farm, its shower place that looked so lovely, its restaurant using its products and the bikes with that place and because we paid around 27€/night as in koh kood or koh chang for the same price you have a brand new hotel with aircon, hotwater and breakfast or you can find lower prices on koh mak with hotels by the sea... We finally left before the end...

This property is a bit outside the town and beach areas. You will need a scooter or bike to get around. New owner is really friendly and trying to make needed improvements. He gave us lots of tips on where the best beaches are and helped us book tours, etc. The bamboo huts are cozy but the bed was uncomfortable. Hopefully that will change soon. Loved the pool and there was always a friendly vibe at the bar in the evenings. Breakfast choices could be improved. Overall a great place to stay on the beautiful island of Koh Mak.

A big thank you to the staff at Koh Mak Buri hut. They were extremely helpful and friendly. They were always available with suggestions and recommendations. The grounds were well kept and they have a 3 tiered pool area that was well kept with towels laid out for guests in advance like you would find at fancier resorts. Our visit was in low season so the restaurants and bar were closed. The rooms were clean and well kept. The TVs are very old and with 6 or 7 channels, but we weren't there to watch TV. They have a nice walkway at the front of the resort from the beach to a long pier. We were caught in a traffic jam on our way from Bangkok ( extra 2.5 hours) as well as about 20 other guests so the staff arranged for a speedboat to wait for all of us otherwise we would have all missed the last boat to the island. From the moment we arrived, they helped with dinner reservations, motorcycle rental, and free shuttles to the restaurants nearby. You will be well taken care of.

Most of the resorts on Koh Mak are located at the beach- so is Holiday Beach Resort. Beside that there is not much that could justify the high price. The so called "Deluxe Bungalows" are small, pretty basic rooms without TV. There is a bed (with mosquitonet), a wardrobe and a small fridge. That's it. You will only have wifi in your room if you are in one of the two or three bungalows near the restaurant. Rooms are not cleaned every day but you will get fresh towels on demand. There are many resorts with better comfort for the same price.

This is one of the most beautiful and peaceful spots in Koh Mak with a real feeling of a Thai life. The bungalows are next to an old wooden house, which belongs to the owner of the place. The staff members are very friendly and there is no feeling of moneymaking business. The sea is just few meters away and the view is great. It is easy to recommend Happy Days to the travellers!

I stayed here twice during my stay in Koh Mak as I liked the location, it’s right on the pier so handy if you booked an early boat. The staff were lovely and helpful. Both rooms I had were nice. If you want your room cleaned you just let them know and leave your key at reception. The outside of the apartments could do with some paint to freshen it up. The gardens are kept lovely. The beach could be better but it’s just a short walk down to a nicer part of the beach at sky view resort. The only thing that rally spoiled it for me was the breakfast. Cold eggs aren’t the best but they will make them fresh for you if you ask, although they still don’t seam happy to. The omelettes were nice but again sometimes cold.

Koh Mak is absolutely stunning. For us it had the perfect balance between daytime activities and low-key nightlife without becoming over-developed and spoilt. Goodtime Resort was fantastic and was the highlight of our holiday. We had booked a superior double but I’m pretty sure we were upgraded as we had a massive suite to ourselves with a huge roof terrace, sitting area and lovely teak details right by the pool. The location is great as you can walk to both beaches and a range of restaurants and bars. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Josh –(an American guy working there) and we were made to feel very much at home. If I had to come up with a negative it would be that the shower in our room needed some work, there was no hot water and the pressure was very low but this was a minor issue and I would definitely recommend Goodtime as a great place to stay.

It is a lovely tranquil location set back from the road where most of the restaurants are. There are just 5 bungalows set around a small lake. The rooms are large and comfy and each bungalow has a hammock on the veranda - that we spent many a happy hour relaxing in - as well as having two comfy chairs. It is only 3 or 4 minutes walk to the beach and nearly all the resorts on the beach seem happy for non residents to use their beaches - especially if you are having food or drink or a massage there, so we felt we had the best of both worlds. Before booking we had a slight concern that there might be more mosquitoes there because of the lake, but this wasn't the case, in fact we hardly saw (or felt) any mosquitoes at all. We booked an additional 3 nights while there and would have booked longer if there had been availability. If you like cats, there is a very friendly one called Noodle who will be delighted by any fuss you make of her.

We arrived in Koh Mak and were picked up by the hotel. They drove us to the other side of the island where the hotel sits on a hill. It´s a bit away from everything and the first thing we noticed was the silence and breeze from the ocean. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. You can see the ocean from every room. The staff did everything they could to make us feel like home. The food is great but a boring siting area. The pool is super nice and clean. If you walk for about 25 minutes you will reach the islands most beautiful beach. If you prefer scooter, they have these to rent for only 300 baht a day. Skip Koh Chang and go to laid back Koh Mak. You won´t regret it. We stayed for 8 nights and this is one of the nicest hotel I ever stayed in. Highly recommended!

Absolutely Wonderful! There were so many things about this hotel that we were unprepared for but every single one of those things made the stay there even better. 1. It's not on Koh Maak. It is on Koh Rayang, and it is the only hotel on this tiny perfect island with white sand beaches, crystal clear water and great snorkeling. 2. There is power from 6pm to midnight. This is surprising at first when you want to get on Facebook and brag to everyone about the beautiful place that you found. . .. but the lack of distraction it makes you enjoy your surroundings all the more. The food here is delicious. The beach is the nicest I visited in Thailand. You can snorkel, kayak, swim and take a boat into Koh Maak if you needed supplies. The accommodations are simple and more like glamping and staying at a resort. It is by far one of the most special places I have stayed anywhere in the world. I loved it and would recommend it to families, honeymooners, or anyone looking to truly get away.

Koh Mak Resort is a hotel on the northern part of the island with a long and very clean private beach. We were picked up by Koh Mak Resort staff at another hotel on Koh Mak island so there was no problem finding it (also they pick up/drop off guests from pier). Hotel staff is very helpful and attitude is very positive. For example, the boat trip back to mainland was arranged without us asking for it. Restaurant (Day Beds) offers wide selection of food. Seafood was delicious (ordered both deep fried snapper and steam snapper). Swimming pool is large and located near the shore. Also noticed Thai Massage sign, although haven't used the service. Kayaking boats were offered free of charge to hotel guests.

My girlfriend and I stayed at Little moon for 2 nights. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We found the resort well decorated and tastefully done with a good attention to details (e.g the smell of lemongrass in the rooms when you arrive). Our favourite part of the hotel though was the kitchen! We are both picky when it comes to eating out, rarely eating at hotels and often scouting for the best restaurants around. It was therefore very pleasant for once to have a hotel with an outstanding restaurant. We ate there 3 or 4 for times during our stay, and I must it was some of best food we have had in Thailand. On the downside, the hotel is bit isolated and doesn’t necessarily have the best beach. But again, for the friendliness of the staff, the great restaurant and the quite surroundings, we would recommend little moon to anyone coming to Koh Mak

Although the resort is brand new, its the best resort on koh mak imo. the service my wife and i received was excellent. the location is the best on koh mak imo as it has its own private beach with a fantastic view of small islands and ocean. Lots of privacy. Kayak in the morning to koh kam (beautiful). felt detached from the outside world. will definitely go back again.

(NOTE: Stay here during slow season) Amazing to have this small modern hotel on a remote island like Koh Mak. Modern room with all the trimmings (hot shower;satellite TV; free wi-fi,infinity pool..) True, it has to have the best view on the island; however,to get to the beach it is a 15 minute walk away from your area. Also (detail here)if I was the architect-designer of the hotel,I would have placed the length of the hotel (rooms) facing the beautiful sea instead side-ways. I would have place the pool in front of the hotel,& the restaurant on top (4th floor). But designers many not understand that people like privacy. From you balcony you can see the sea at an angle and into your neighbor balcony, (poor design). From your balcony you look over the pool, and to the restaurant. Not much privacy, but this is a minor detail for some people. So, no privacy on the balcony, people at the open air restaurant, infinity pool can look up and see you including your neighbors in the next room. I like privacy when I am on the balcony. So I give the architect low marks when designing the layout. It is a small plot of land but the 6 rooms on each floor could have faced the sea instead of sideways. It was slow season but... the restaurant staff should be trained better in how to take care of customer. You do not deliver a plate of rice before you place the eating utensils or placemat. (DUH) You do not sit there and look at your phone making the customer wait to order another dish or beer. The food was excellent when it was delivered, but the restaurant lacked professional training. Sad for such a classy place. --but this is Thailand and most Bangkok owners do not believe in paying good salary for good staff or doing good training. They think staff will learn through osmosis. The manager (Thai woman that spoke good English ) was above the norm-fantastic. I even saw her helping out in the restaurant and mopping the deck after the rain. That is a good manager!!!!!

This is my 2nd time in Koh Mak but our first time in Seavana, we couldn't be more impressed with this resort. Highly recommend if you love nature, peace and good foods. Seavana is located between Koh Mak Cococape and Koh Mak Resort within walking distance, so you may enjoy all fantastic views. You may also take a short beach walk to Koh Mak Resort to get the both to Koh Kham.
