More about Koh Mak (Trad)

This small island on Eastern Thailand’s Trat province is a quiet and peaceful natural escape for travelers who may have had their fill of the party islands and want to go somewhere quiet to recharge the batteries. There are several speedboats and catamarans that provide daily service into Koh Mak from the major surrounding islands, and it’s possible to arrange transfer services with most of the hotels and guesthouses in Koh Mak.

From Laem Kradun Cape, it’s easy to reach the other, more popular island such as Ko Chang and Ko Kut as there are several catamarans and other speedboats that depart for these islands daily.

Of course, the activity of choice while in Koh Mak is to find the perfect spot and soak up the sun, or go snorkeling or diving to take advantage of the island’s pristine waters. Away from water activities, the island is a great place in which to experience more of Thai culture, and visiting culturally significant sites like the beautiful Koh Mak Temple is a great way to do just that. An island vacation in Thailand is one of the best way to relax and recharge one’s batteries, and of course Koh Mak is no exception to this rule.
