Where to stay in Koh Phayam (Ranong)
Koh Phayam (Ranong) hotels & accommodations

Always a pleasure to stay at the Blue sky resort koh phayam. In my opinion it's the best resort on the island if you just looking to chill out and relax. The food is good and not too expensive like some 4 star resorts on the island. We got this villa 20% cheaper booking with Agoda than if we would of booked via the resort website. Highly recommended and will alway...

Koh Phayam is a beautiful island. Buffalo Bay Beach is more quiet than Long Beach. BBVC It is a great resort to relax. The rooms have a very good standard and you get a good value for the money. Make sure you have your ferry or speedboat to the island organized.

Our trip to Koh Phayam was such a dream, made even more special by Katie and her team at Phayamas. I definitely recommend letting Katie organize all your transfers (so easy!) and renting motorbikes, as the resort is a little way from the main road and from Long Beach. That being said, it's not far from BEAUTIFUL buffalo bay and, of course, you have the option of swimmi...

Very good location on the centre of the beach. Very basic accommodations, but it's all you need when in koh phayam. Would be nice if you received 2 bottles of water each day as most places do. Also having to ask for toilet paper everyday was a bit of a pain, but honestly it's a very chill island so no big deal.. All the staff were extremely friendly and the food was g...

The view from the beach biew bungalows is absolutely stunning. The rooms are very nice and clean and the outdoor shower gives you bit of a jungle experience - with high standard facilities. In the rooms they provide you a watertank with glasses - a very nice service wich helps you to avoid unnecessary trash by water bottles. The restaurant is also very good: the fo...

We stayed in a wooden bungalow for one week, which was equipped with a nice soft and big bed roofed by a elegant mosiquito-net. The room is very tidy, clean and we loved the little terrace with the hammock, as we could see lots of beautiful birds and other animals just by sitting outside our bungalow. The host, Lek, and his staff were welcoming, warmhearted and provi...

A local peaceful location with only the sound of birdsong and waves from the ocean.. The food at the restaurant was excellent and reasonably priced. Chooky the waiter was charming and funny! The bungalow was comfortable with a nice veranda and side view of the sea. The beach is clean and lovely and they provide sunloungers. Nice clear water. The only downside was the t...

We had a wonderful time at Ailay. We booked the comfort bungalow directly on the beach and really loved it. There’s nothing like seeing the ocean from your bed and falling asleep hearing the sound of the waves. :) The owners are supernice, very helpful and the best cooks we found on the island! Try the fish in Choo Chee curry - it’a amazing. Everything they offe...

The Frog is one of the most remote accommodations on Koh Phayam, so do not take a taxi when you go there, rent a motorbike right in the village when you arrive, you'll need it for the duration of you stay at the island. The bungalows is not on the beach or beach facing, they are placed in the forrest, where there is no wind. It get's rather hot during the afternoon and...

We stayed here for a couple of nights in November and it was amazing. The loft bungalows were nice and clean and the pool was really nice! The walls opend like windows so it was easy to get fresh air into the bungalow. The best parts of our stay here were our host Jay, he's probably the most wonderful and helpful person we've ever met. (He told us which places on the i...

Lucky resort is such a nice place to chill off season. We just spent 4 days there with my best friend, off season, and we could not dream of a better place to stay. Kluy is such a sweat guy, we had a chance to meet others guys and hang out with them. We felt great for these 4 days and we are absolutely looking forward to coming back to Koh Phayam next year. Emma & Est...

I hired a motorbike at the wharfe and started to drive to Aow Yai beach.I spotted Phayam Sport Bungalow. It looks different and interesting. I really enjoyed my stay. I joined in with the other guests and played various sports. What a great idea. The rooms were clean and I slept well at night. It was a short walk to the beach along a shady path. I loved my morning swim...

the bungalows are new and very nice, you can see the ocean from each one. The resort is almost at the end of the beach but you can reach all the other places by foot. The restaurant had great shakes and nice food and the staff was the nicest we’ve had on our whole trip! Would definitely stay there again.

I love everything about this accommodation, of course it's not the 5 stars resort but you will feel like a home when you stay at Little Hut. I love the foods there, their chef is excellent, I love every single dish we ordered. Even it's quite far from the pier but riding a motorcycle or take a motorcycle taxi to get here isn't that bad and it's not far from Ao Yai Bay,...

very comfortable and clean bed. The resort is very well maintenanced. really super tasty meal, also good price. Super coffee and cocktail. The bamboo cottages are located in a nice graden, hospitality is grate, very kind and respectfull. if u are looking for nature staying not fare from beaches its right place for you. Wifi is only at restaurant.

This resort offers a very wide range of rooms and prices, and is thus absolutely perfect when traveling with a big group of friends. Everyone can find a room that would match their price range and/or taste. The staff are incredibly helpful. They took great care of us and tried to be as accomodating as possible. Moreover, the restaurant serves good food with freshly bre...

Would like them to clean the mosquitoes net one day before customer check in. Because when I loose the net all the dirty things on top of then fall down over the bed. They also open restaurant but only open on high season. And yes definitely recommend here to stay.

We stayed here for 5 days. This is a very back to basics bungalow with no telly / air con or hot water, however it was amazing value for money and the fan kept the room cool enough. The cold shower was a blessing after a hot day. Koh Phayam has some breathtaking beaches so you won’t be spending much time in the room anyway.

The only 2 things that arguably make this place worth the money are that they have A/C and that you don’t need a mosquito net. Other than that, everything else was a bit uneven. You get a sense that they were trying their best, but lack of professionalism lets down their effort a bit. Breakfast was okay, but minimal and forgettable. We paid for the most expensive bunga...

JJ is a lovely hotel with a beautiful garden--we stayed in a beach front cabin. The owners of the hotel were just so kind and hospitable and helpful--ordering us taxis, phoning places to get information for us, booking boats...they always seemed happy to do whatever they could for us. Another noteworthy mention: the food. Great Thai restaurant for very decent prices an...

pros: -10/10 location! The bungalows are right at the beach, even when you have the most budget one (we did). It is also only a 10 min. walk to the center and pier where the best food and bars are. - 10/10 staff! They are the nicest people we met so far that own a accommedation in Thailand. They booked everything for us wich including a ferry from Ko Phayam, a Bus dow...

High on stilts among the old rubber trees and close to the most amazing beach this is the perfect place to relax and experience Thailand away from the crowds. You can sit in the hammock and watch Hornbills and gliding lizards flying between the trees. A basic room but everything you need. The hosts are super friendly and helpful. An easy walk to the perfect, secluded b...

This is our second visit to Friends in Koh Phayam. As ever, Nicky was welcoming and friendly. The setting is very laid back, nothing is a hassle and they're always quick to respond to anything. When one of us was ill they helpfully returned our scooter. The huts and some of the structure are looking a bit run down (we stayed in bungalow not tents), nothing that would g...

Clean basic bungalow let down a little by the bathroom. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant was good. A little far out from the centre of things but a few other bars/restaurants close by. We were in the cheapest bungalows and about 100m from the beach.

easy to get from ranong. new mit tour is good company bus from bkk. to ranong. 9pm departure.ranong is a nice town.
It is very nice island where is possible to drive only on motorbikes, no car, wide nature beaches, each of them looks different, canoeing in mongroves is possible, the sea is good for small children, good food, relaxing in nature, no crowded island
Only stayed there one night because flight was cancelled so we missed the boat to the island and had to go first thing in the morning.
this island is really good food, nice beach, nice environment, nice sunset. The best thing when you are here, you can relax and charge your energy.
It feels like the island is pretty developed (with it's restaurants, sport activities etc.) but on the other hand Phayam still can be considered as a civilisation' getaway.
The slow boat has only at 9 am and 2 pm, and take almost 2 hours for traveling while speed boat takes only 30 mn.
I only stayed one night in Ranong to catch the morning flight back to bkk, but the impression was great, would stay longer if i return.
Koh Phayam is very quiet and relaxing. It is one of the few Islands in Thailand where you can find quiet beaches.
A very sleepy island with little to do. For beach and sun worshipers it's perfect, but only for 4 months of the year as it is on the Andaman side.
Kwang Pib Bay is a perfect place for Who's in love with Nature (Tropical Forest & Coral Reef). Koa Kwai Bay is a perfect place for Beach Lover, The Most chill out place.
