Samed Grand View Resort is situated on SaiKaew beach, the largest of the beaches on Koh Samet. Here the water is clean and very nice for swimming. As the largest beach on Koh Samet there is plenty of choice when it comes to dining and other attractions. The hotel is nice, bungalows and hotel blocks in a nice garden setting, just off the beach. The hotel restaurant is ...

i had a great memories at vongdeuan resort hotel after i booking their room, i have sent email to ask them how should we arrive their hotel? they was very prompt reply the letter as below: thank you for making reservation to stay with us, to get to our shuttle boat, please come to our office in ban phe, you can present your voucher and check in from here, our staff w...

The hotel is located in the middle of the town (I mean Koh Samet is small, but you can call this spot middle of the town). Next to the hotel you have the beach, the longest in Koh Samet with great restaurants and entertainment. The breakfast is ok, but needs some attention from the F&B Manager. But the breakfast in the other hotels are far behind this hotels, yes, c...

Close to the beach made it easy to walk up and down to the room between hanging out at the beach and relaxing in the room. Food was good at decent rates, only possible drawback was that the staff sometimes were more busy talking to each other rather then looking after the customers, without it being a huge problem but this was the feeling we had at times. In general th...

Stayed there for 2 nights. We enjoyed our stay especially my son.He loves the pool. It's clean though you cannot avoid bitten by a mosquito during the evening. The hotel gives you a repellent when you want to sit, dine and enjoy the breeze in the evening. Staffs are mostly Cambodians, very nice and patient. We'll be back next time and perhaps stay for 3-4 days. Prao B...

Our first time in Koh Samet. As we booked quite last minute we only managed to book a hillside room which was still lovely. We were right at the top so we actually had a lovely panoramic view of the beach. We had free transportation from the Ban Phe pier straight to the resort which saved us a lot of time and money. Very quite and relaxing area and not overly crowded. ...

It took us 6 weeks to find a place which would suit our expectations on a holiday, full of relaxation, great food, great service and an exclusive location. Paradee Resort in Koh Samet fit the description to the letter. If you want a 5 Star resort holiday then Koh Samet isn't the place for you because they don't exist. If you are flexible and can accept a few annoyances than this is a great place. I really liked this hotel. The rooms were comfortable, the food was fine, the beach was clean, staff were friendly and it's close to Wongduen beach which has many more restaurants and ent...

Good, quiet location on Ao Phai beach in Koh Samet. Would definitely return and recommend this resort to other travellers. The downside of the resort had no signal for certain mobile services and the hotel had wifi issues which was a bit of a let down. Other than that we had a great time.

I stayed in Koh Samet 30 years ago, too many tourists now in the main beach area, luckily I noticed the Samed Cabana a couple of beaches south on Agoda, much cleaner beach and less congested , big bonus was I could book online as I was inspecting the facilities on the resorts WiFi

We've been to Tubtim a number of times (as well as other places on Koh Samet) - starting in the travelling days and staying in their basic fan room and upgrading to now an aircon garden view. There are comparable rooms/huts across Koh Samet for this price if you put the time and effort in to shop around. It's a basic, clean enough hut with a fan and aircon. Curtains ...

The room (family room) was very clean and spacious and close to the beach. Be aware that if you book a standard room it can be located far up the hill, which is quite a walk every time. Hands down the best hotel in Koh Samet. It is brand new and facilities are equal or better to many hotels in Bangkok. Rooms are spacious and neatly designed. Breakfast buffet is good and the restaurant is very good. Cons:- lots of mosquitoes in the room. Staff was not very flexible. We booked five rooms with 9 adults and two kids. Yet the front desk insisted on chargi...

I have stayed on Koh Samet more times that is sensible and I’ve stayed at all different levels of accommodation. The biggest difference between Le Vimarn and all the others is that this place is a real resort. Most of the little bungalows are just that! A bungalow and a small restaurant. Le Vimarn has it all – a spectacular infinity pool, lovely spa, great sun lo...

Stayed with my boyfriend. Bed very big, and very comfortable for Thailand! It had a sheet, a blanket and a nice pillow. Big, clean room with a view of the sea through floor to ceiling windows. Aircon worked powerfully and there was a fan option. There was one chair in front of the cottage. Food at the resort was usually very good, but take my advice and don't o...

We LOVE Summer Day Beach Resort!!! After spending a week whizzing around Thailand, we finally arrived on Koh Samet for 2 days of pure rest and relaxation and Summer Day Beach Resort was the perfect place for this! We chose to hire a speedboat from Ban Phe Pier which cost 2500baht return for 2 people. The journey took about 15 minutes and the boat dropped us on the ...

It is one of the best resort in Koh Samet. It is located near the Sai Kaew Beach so you can go to the beach anytime. The price of the resort is really reasonable and acceptable. Besides, there are two floor in the room, the bed is on the second floor so it is really a nice design.I will stay at Lima Bella Resort again when I visit Koh Samet next time.

excellent hotel, Staff are great, the road leading to the hotel needs to be fixed but apart from that no complaints, the best hotel in Koh Samet and i have been going there for many years, this is a new hotel which is very comfortable. If your not wanting the usual Koh Samet standard of room then stay here. A little bit of Luxury. I cant wait to get back and see the St...

Very nice staff, everyone didn´t speak English well but it worked out well anyways. The did their best to understand and helped each other translate. The rooms were very nice. Simple and beautiful design. Clean. We could see the sea even though we had garden view. The Thaifood was excellent in the restaurant. Best food in Koh Samet. Wonderful view of the see in the res...

If you want to make vacations at Koh Samet then don't look at the hotel. You'll be at the beach most of the time. The Vikar Samet Resort is at the corner of the beach, so if you don't want to make a lot of party until the end of the night, it's the perfect place. If they had a place to wash your feet after walking on the sand, everything would be perfect. Yes, the bat...

Mooban Talay Resort Hotel is a great place to stay if you want to have a relaxing stay. Particularly if you have children, the hotel is perfect. It is no cars around the hotel area and no other people than those that stay at the hotel. There where less things to do around the hotel in the evenings, but you could walk or take a taxi to the beach area with bars and resta...

Firstly in terms of cost all hotels on koh samet are more expensive than Thailand so be prepared for that Although I was a solo traveller this place is ideal for couples - so romantic with its private beach that is perfect for snorkelling No breakfast available but only short walk to restaurants Perfect in every way for a time in paradise

Great beach hotel near the middle of the best beach on the island nice gardens surrounding the hotel all rooms made from wood and all very nice nice bar with great views of the beach breakfast ok have stayed here on every time I visit koh samet great beach with plenty of entertainment and many places to eat great for sea food

We had a truly brilliant time in Koh Samet and the staff and setting of the Sunrise Villas were two of the main reasons for this. Koh Samet itself is an extremely affordable island and this extends to the wonderful Sunrise Villas where you can wake up to a breathtaking ocean view for relative peanuts compared to what it may cost you elsewhere on the island (and especia...

The location at the far end of Vondenguan beach is good: not that much noise from the bars, but still you have several dining options in the evening to choose from, unlike if staying on a more quiet beach. For the day we would walk to a more peaceful and less touristy beach nearby (walking distance to several, best was Ao Wai not more than 30min walk), and in the eveni...

We recently stayed on Ko Samed at the Baan Ploy Sea after we where let down by the weather in Koh Samui and we found this little Gem ! We have read many reviews on this Hotel and quite frankly couldn't understand some of the reviews YES the staff don't speak the best best English and understand well BUT do you speak Thai ? The food in the restaurant was amazing and som...

I came to koh samet to avoid the craziness of bkk and came across this hotel. I was traveling with my girlfriend, and found that this place was my best hotel I've stayed in out of the 10 times I've been to the island. Beautiful gardens and 2 minute walk away from a quiet beach. On arrival the owner was so accommodating, showed us to our room (brand new) and told us wh...

We had visited Chilli Hotel before and booked a room for 3 people. I made a big mistake though and got my booking dates wrong, and only realized when arriving at the hotel. The hotel staff were really helpful though and gave us a room even when they shouldn't have, and helped us with an extra bed. The hotel is well located and has a great free breakfast and other serv...

This is the second time I’ve stayed at Runa Runa. The first sharing with one co-worker and the second sharing a “hostel” like room with 5 single beds with four other co-workers. Both stays gave us a great location, right down the road from the national park entrance, and comfort for our price range. Nothing too outstanding about the rooms but for the money the location...

Olly is a great host, very friendly and made sure everyone had enough air con and that the hostel was clean at all times. Made the effort to learn and remember each guests name which was a nice touch. He also provided suggestions on places to go for dinner that did not disappoint. I like how the dorms are laid out with sliding doors, gives that extra layer of privacy a...

We were on Koh Samet for 8 days. The hotel is located a couple of minutes from the beach. The beach strip in the afternoon, when there is no low tide, is wide, and in the evening warm water arrives right under the tables of numerous cafes on the shore. We went to the neighboring bay to swim and sunbathe, there are fewer people and much deeper. Bungalows we ordered a st...

Our stay at I-Talay worked out ok. We booked last minute on a Thai holiday weekend so took what was available. It was our first visit to Koh Samet so we didn't know the island layout. Next time we will book ahead of time and stay on one of the other beaches away from the crowds. Liked the hotel staff a lot! Thanks I-Talay for making our stay comfortable.

The host Minnie is really nice, she came at the pier to pick us up and gave us precious tips about the island. The room is in quiet part of the island but just next to the main street; very clean and modern. It has wifi, tv, fridge and everything you may need. It has also a really nice terrace where you can chill out during the night. I highly recommend this place to s...

Chris the owner was greeting me at the first time. Nice cozy little place with everything around. Just a bit hard to find the first time and got lost. Thanks for Chris's dad drive me to go as I look really lost on the street...haha. The housekeeping doing a very good job as I got clean and tidy bed every night. Bed is comfortable and nice with mosquito net is im...

There really isnt much to say about this place, Good: Nice location, a quick 1-2min walk and your down by the beach area I got a very big fridge there was a toilet roll n soap included Not good: Cleaning lacking to say the least looks old, worn down not "expensive", but absolutely not worth the price service non existing Summary: I wanted to go to Koh...

Room was small but clean had a fridge to keep things cool also a TV that kept child amused. Bed was a little on the hard side. Hotel sold a selection of snacks and drinks. Breakfast was include and good in comparison to other places we have stayed on Samet.

Pro: - Very good located to the beach and to cheap restaurents - facilities were good contra: - staff didn't speak English well - during the night it was really noisy because of the dogs outside. Disturbing your sleep every hour. Couldn't sleep for days.

My wife and I spent two nights at "Blue Moon". The room was simple yet very clean and comfortable overall. WiFi was excellent. The manager was very welcoming and helpful. He rented us a brand new motorcycle which proved perfect to discover the whole island / National Park. The location was perfect for our needs, close to everything (esp. main pier, National Park entra...

Pros: refurbished and modern rooms--many other Samet hotels are a bit old or run-down. Decent bathroom. Near the dock yet not noisy. 7/11 nearby and you don't have to hassle with taxis. Good value. Cons: If you want to be on the beach and feel like you are at Samet, then consider something on the beach. I liked the view with lawn-chairs, but do ask them to wipe them o...

I'm still there as I write this... It isn't really a hotel. Just some very nice people decided to rent rooms in their house. Be careful, the walls are thin ;-) No extractor fan in the bathroom. The rain shower isn't hooked up. Brand spanking new. What isn't there to like? You can use the family fridge and microwave. It's smack in the centre, close to everything....

The hotel located in the middle to both beach and ferry jetty. Room very clean but we encountered some mosquitoes at night in the room. The front desk staff not very helpful as she also needs to take care of the cafe. Quite slow response. Wifi ok, air cond ok.

This Hotel is a clean new modern building a few minutes walk from the centre of town, it's quiet, a good size room with a good shower and toilet. There is no food at this hotel so I have had to give it a 3 to be fair. Its not on the beach like a lot of other hotels that couples would stay at but for the single traveller it is ideal, and because its a small island, ever...

Location was good. Easy walking distance to the beach and the pier. The staff weren't always at the front desk, and didn't seem very approachable, but stay was pleasant enough. There were some small antsd in the room, which were also on the bed, which wasn't great. But overall not as bad stay. The cost was expensive for the room for Thailand but cheap for Koh Samet.

Great staff , very helpful, good location, slightly away from loud music but easy walking distance to beach/ music etc , you’ll need a bike anyhow to explore island, and the location of lost resort is ideal , bit expensive compared to other islands we visited, but in general Koh Samet is expensive so you kinda get what you get, would recommend, we booked 4 nights with ...

This hotel is right on the boundary of the national park you enter to get to the main beach in koh samet. Its really clean, modern and new looking inside. The only downside was the noise, as you are on the 'main road' leading to the beach and there are two 24hr seven eleven's on the street below you (directly opposite each other and both busy all day!) apart from that ...

Traveler impressions of Koh Samet
Koh Samet is a really nice place for a family, lovers& tralvelers to spend holidays! There is no too much people ,too much shopping ,just sunshining, beach, and good food.
The water and beaches are very clean with soft white sand. This Island is a quite relaxation Island which is away from the normal loud experiences on the mainland.
Want an enjoyable stay? Stay at resort at Ao Prao for $500 per night or suffer. Don't go if you have a disablility
Nice island near Pattaya, very easy to go there, can take local bus than ferry, inside renting motorbike, nice relaxing.
Koh Samet is blessed by wonderful beaches and not much else. Generally the the accomodation is substandard and there is price gouging for tourists.
Koh samed is really a big island For me, the sea is not very clear, if you want to dive, you have to go far away, other sports is just so so.
I recommend to go to Koh Samet in Low Season(water clean, sand white and clean), and in high season a lot of people and many speed boats / water not so clean and staff so tired, not so friendly like in Low Season.
I think Koh Samet would be best enjoyed in a group of close friends because the population limits their interaction with foreigners to "commercial-transactions only!"
It's a lovely little island around 3 hours from Bangkok, an ideal weekend getaway place for anyone. Lovely, crystal clear blue sea, many beaches to choose from and still nice and small.
becareful , don't go to the agency who people sell ticket and hotel , it's a trap . they rip off you, you can get the island for 30 bath with the big boat and 50 bath with the speed boat, just go and find the man who drive the boat.
this is a retreat for people who wants to have a getaway from the bustling city . you can sit by the beach and drink to content .
apart from beaches, the island is keept very bad, rubbish everywhere, the center has an area very smelly and unsane, there would be the possibility to perform some sport activities, unfortunately the small forest in the center have no access, no walk side intricate trees dont allow any walk, the restaurants, the personnel of hotels, are not friendly as the rest of thailand, never smiles it seems that, they are upsets to have tourist, wonderfull place kept very bad and managed worse
A Island that you should walk around and explore! Friendly people and don't be shy to ask if in doubt!! Water activities like water ski, boat parachute banana bout are fun too! Food are great and fresh!
There's something for almost everyone here, but if you want to mainly relax, then this is the island for you.
Highlights, be prepared to walk to hotel, rent a motorbike or pay 1500 baht for a 1 km ride in the bead of a pickup with no shade.
I find the place safer than I have thought it would be. The beaches are still nice and the people are lovely.
Well, there are many bays in Koh Samet but the most peacful bay is Wai(in my opinion).Wai bay is a national park around with natures.
I first visited Samet in 1996, it was a beautiful untouched island. Today it resembles a rubbish tip, a fly tipper paradise.
Not easy to travel to but worth the trip. Not as touristy as Phuket which is a huge plus point. You get beaches that are nice and not so crowded.
Rent a scooter to get around the island. The best beaches are furthest away, down south or west away from the party areas.
Not very pleasant stay. Trash everywhere. "Public transport" with song keaw pickup truck is a rip-off.
The road network has improved enormously in the last year so the trips between the popular beaches only takes a few mins Although I have visited Koh Samet now 3 times , this was my first shopping visit to the town .
Very busy and lots of jet skies and people selling stuff. Water not the cleanest but OK. Great shame as I stayed here 10 years ago and it was wonderful.
Great hideaway from Bangkok. Suites great just for weekend or for longer vacation. Great beaches with clean water.
This is very nice place to stay and depend on which beach do you want to spend time, we stayed in Ao Wongdrean that very romantic and relax place, no crazy party.
Real relax beach holiday not far away from Bangkok, and couple of beaches for you to stay that match your need, clean and clear sea water and white sand to step on
Koh Samet has a lot to offer almost anyone. If you are looking for a relaxing getaway from bustling Bangkok, you can find that on Koh Samet.
Samet is a tiny little island, just 2hrs South of Bangkok. People go there for the sun, the beach and amazing night life.
Koh Samet is a small island that was only a National Park, but has been developed with many Hotels and Resorts.

We and another couple landed on Sangthian Beach Resort trying to book two rooms on Koh Samet the weekend after Christmas, which proved to be a extremely busy time on the Island. Had a lovely stay. We speak Thai so not sure how the experience would've been on English. The staff are Burmese and very helpful. The hotel was quite new and the cleanliness was highly appreciated. It is located at the center of a very nice but crowded beach. My family spent 4 days at Nimmanoradee in a February long week-end. Living in Bangkok, we wanted to enjoy some days at the beach and looking for an island not too far. This was my first time time to Koh Samet and we chose La Lune based on good reviews and price. The hotel was good and clean, which os surprising considering the sand on everyone's feet. More about Koh Samet
The main point of arrival on Samet is Na Dan Village, where ferries from Ban Phe Pier in Rayong arrive several times a day. Getting to Rayong from Bangkok can be accomplished easily via buses or even metered taxi.
Though Samet has a healthy beach bar scene and hosts regular parties on the sand, there are also plenty of calm spaces for those seeking respite. Samet is generally more skewed towards couples and families, with swimming and sun-bathing two of the more popular pastimes on the island. Snorkeling, diving, and fishing trips are also worthwhile pursuits here and are comparatively cheaper than the same activities further south. For something different, Samet also offers fire-spinning classes out of Na Dan Village.
Be sure to check out the interactive map of Koh Samet for information on hotel locations, attractions, and must-see destinations.
