For my opinion- it’s the best hotel in Koh Samui. Staff were very nice. Location super central. The vouchers’s idea was very nice. Liked to chill on the pool-floor. Recommend to ask a room on a high floor because the hotel stands in a shopping mall and the lowest rooms are close to the parking plot. We spent 30 days in Thailand for our honeymoon in varuos 5 star hotels and the breakfast was always the best at Hansar hotels. The rooms were spaciuos with high quality modern design and big bathroom. The service level at all Hansar hotels is exceptional. Good gym facilities and good drinks at the bar with 3 happy hours per day. The hotel is only 100m away from the fishermans viallge ful of many cute restaurants serving Thai and Western food. The only minus for me was Bophut beach as the sand was very rough nad it was very deep in the sea directly which meant that children could swim in the swimming pool only as in December it is very windy in Koh Samui and the waves are very big. I wish Hansar was at Chaweng or Lamai beaches. Highly recomend the stay in any Hansar hotel!

We did not mind this as we had just spent a couple of days on Koh Tao where the bungalow was right on the beach. The water is much nicer (more clear) in Koh Tao so we were fine with spending less money at our hotel in Koh Samui even if it meant we were further from the water. The pools are very nice at this hotel. We spent several hours at the pool overlooking the beach and Gulf. We did swim in the pool but we did not swin in the Gulf. Breakfast was very nice. If you want to go into town where the action is you will need to take a shuttle or taxi. We were happy to stay away from the crowds but if you like to be at the center of things you may want a hotel closer to town. If you like to hang out at a nice pool and look at beautiful scenery without the crowds this is a good hotel. We were happy that we spent two days in Koh Tao and two days in Koh Samui as the vibes are very different (Koh Tao is better if you love nature and don't mind rustic).

Absolute heaven from beginning to end! We had booked to stay in a second floor, balcony jacuzzi room, but were informed upon arrival that we had been upgraded to a top floor ocean view jacuzzi room. The wonderful staff informed us they always try to upgrade where possible. The room was both rustic and luxurious and every need had been considered- the insect repellent and travel adaptors provided in the room were particularly helpful. The 6pm turn down service was especially thoughtful and staff came round with treats made in the Silavadee bakery. The breakfast that is included most room rates was superb and far exceeded any hotel buffet we had before. A wide range of cooked breakfast dishes could be ordered from the menu. The pool areas were fantastic, one of which has a bar to order drinks, and provided stunning views out to the sea from the infinity pools and private beach was wonderfully quiet, a luxury on Koh Samui! We dined several times at the restaurant The Height, and enjoyed of the most delicious Thai food we had during our stay on Koh Samui and found it priced similarly to other restaurants in nearby Chaweng and Lamai, both of which are a very short taxi ride away.(Silavadee also run a regular free shuttle service) Our only complaint would be that the spa facilities are incredibly expensive. Though the aromatherapy massage we booked was probably the best massage we have ever had, we still found the prices eye-watering even for a spa and especially by thai standards. We also agreed that had the prices been lower, we absolutely would have booked more treatments and likely spent considerably more overall were they value for money! The best part of our stay were absolutely the wonderfully welcoming staff who were not only helpful and informative but went out of their way to make sure our stay was as fantastic as possible. We truly can't wait to return and absolutely plan to as soon as possible. 10/10!

Everything about the hotel was so beautiful, the location, decor, the restaurant and the room (we stayed in the beachfront balcony pool suite). The staff were always attentive and polite. You could use the handigo app to chat to staff and request room service which we both found really handy. The breakfast at the Tent restaurant was really nice too with many options and having the option to order from the menu with buffet was a plus. The only problem we faced was that there was only one panini grill which meant people who were vegetarian, or Muslim like my wife and I who only eat halal meat, were unable to use this as it had been used by other guests to grill ham sandwiches. The beachfront location was amazing and the hotel allows guests to go kayaking and paddle boarding for free.

The best part of a hotel in Koh Samui is the facilities to enjoy the beach, to relax and to enjoy the time in the hotel. I love the infinity pool which overlooks the ocean. There is also a poolside bar which I enjoy having a drink while in the pool. It is a first experience for me. The restaurant serve very good and wide variety of Thai food and Western food. Food quality is good. The price is reasonable considering it is a hotel. There is also lots of daily programs in the hotel throughout the week. I can stay in the hotel without stepping out. The hotel also provide a shuttle bus to 2 nearby shopping places at a reasonable price of 50 to 100 baht.

The hotel grounds are stunning, all gardens are manicured, there are 3 large pools (although 1 was closed for renovations, daily activities, a spa and a beach bar and restaurant. The buffet breakfast and definitely the best we experience while travelling around Thailand. The hotel is situated 15 minutes from Chaweng Beach and the hotel provides free daily shuttle services. It was great staying so close to the action, yet far enough away to enjoy the peace and quiet on a much quieter beach. The Fisherman's village is also a 5 minute walk along the beach which has various restaurants, shops and bar. We were unfortunate enough to have our credit card stolen (in another hotel, however Bandara staff were more then helpful during this period whilst trying to sort out finances from the other side of the world. they went above and beyond their duty, especially the Manager Tam. We loved staying here so much we booked an extra night. Also the Deluxe rooms are very spacious and it might be worth while to request a room closer to the beach rather than the road.

Housekeeping is flawless and comes twice a day. The breakfast is varied and very good, you can either sit inside with AC or outside in the shade with a sea view. Pool area i also spotless clean with a nice pool bar, the hotel also have plenty sunbeds on the beach with service from the bar They also have a fitness rom and a spa. Didn't try any of them but they seem popular. The staff is very helpfull and most speak good english. Only con must be the prices in the resturant are a bit high, but then again so is the rest of Koh Samui resturants.

i wanted to take my girlfriend on a holiday that would take her breath away. although i did keep the hotel a surprise (and may have even played it down on the way there!) the entire experience upon arrival; the location, hotel grounds, service, private beach/bay, and finally the awe inspiring villa itself ended up bringing her to tears of joy and gratitude - mission accomplished! you'll see why she had this reaction when you get there. value is everything to me. whatever i pay, if it's a little or a lot, i expect to get what i paid for. if it is a little, i expect little and i am happy with anything extra. if i pay more though, my expectations grow. i wanted to avoid all of the "fakes" that pretend to be 5 star, but was at first nervous about paying my way out of the nerves associated with poor quality...my bank account usually doesn't permit me to do so. having been to banyan tree bangkok, and now banyan tree koh samui.... i don't regret a thing. pros: everything. might sound over the top.. but it is everything you see in all of the pictures and more. we were in a villa that was almost at the top of the mountain and had uninterrupted views of the southern coast of koh samui. it was completely private (it was clearly designed to be this way), and very peaceful. every whim had been thought of and provided. the grounds are huge and you can get complimentary buggy rides wherever you need to go (breakfast, private beach, lobby etc). our host (butler?) was very helpful, and all staff speak english very well. hammock, 2 different sets of sun beds on either side of the villa, 3 separate divisions in the villa (lounge area, bedroom, and bathroom). fresh fruit every day. extensive menu for both in room or restaurant dining. "activities" every day!!! yoga at sunrise/sunset, snorkelling, kayaking etc etc... all complimentary!!! the breakfast was typical of banyan tree, completely decadent and wide ranging. everything you could want at an extremely high standard

I was looking for a resort in Koh Samui and was planning on going for a fancy 5 start but couldn’t help but notice the high rating for the Buri Rasa even though it was only a 4 star so decided to book and give it a try. We booked a deluxe garden court with dip pool. The stay was flawless. Comfortable bed, spacious room and the dip pool is pretty decent. The resort is well maintained and on a really good (and clean) part of the beach. It’s a lot smaller than most so you get a much more personalized service. It’s also is in the main part of town so there are plenty of things to see and do (and eat) right outside your doorstep. What really sets this place apart is the staff. They are friendly, helpful and go above and beyond to make your stay memorable. Little things like remembering our anniversary in a casual conversation and surprising us with an anniversary cake! You won’t get that level of service anywhere else. P.S, my wife was a big fan of the champagne at the breakfast buffet! We will be back.

Crystal Bay Yacht Club is located on a beautiful part of the beach in Koh Samui. The bungalows are a great size and clean. The shower is separated from the rest of the bathroom by a divider so you don't have the typical Asian wet bathroom floor. The restaurant is a little pricy for Koh Samui, but really well priced for a resort. Restaurant staff are very friendly, switched on and speak english well. Thai massage is offered on site overlooking the beach for a very reasonable price and the masseuses are very talented. As someone in the fitness industry who has spent a lot of time and money on physiotherapists, myotherapists and masseuses (in both the western world and Asia), Ticha, Dai and Noi know what they are doing. This shows as they are busy all day long! There isn't too much walking distance from the resort but we rented a scooter to get about, and also booked our trip to Koh Phangan via reception. For anyone who needs to work while they are travelling - as we did, the internet at Crystal Bay is reliable and as fast as you will get on the island. It seemed to be a great place for families with younger children, and we could take our parents there and they would be comfortable. Definitely would return. We are a mid-30s couple who work remotely and travel regularly.

We loved here everything, we went to try other hotel (was planned before we arrived to Koh samui) and we loved Casa de mar so much that we came back again and stayed there all vacation in koh samui! It's amazing! The food, the place, the drinks, the team, the happy hours (!!!) qnd the seafood and grill bufet(!!) amazing!! Thank you!

You go outside for a walk and some photos, you come back and the room is already cleaned. I did not realize I got a nail in my tire until a staff called and told me one of my tires lost all the air. I was trying to change the wheel by myself. The security staff saw me and suddenly 3 other staff came over and had my wheel changed in a minute. It was a very enjoyable stay. Highly recommend the Conrad Koh Samui to anyone who wants a great and relaxing vacation.

We loved the beach and the comfortable room, however we were a little put off by the whole Lamai area. It was full of European tourists and cheesy bars which were not our style. We found some good places to eat in town but were generally tired of the whole area. We did love the beach and spent most of our time relaxing in the water and getting cheap massages. We also took a cab to a waterfall and hiked to the top to swim in the cool water. It was a great addition to the beach and I highly recommend going to one of the beautiful waterfalls in Koh Samui. We happily avoided the elephant and wildlife shows and hiked along the waterfall for free, finishing off with a wonderful dip in the cool water. Lamai Wanta Resort was a great hideaway from the craziness of Lamai and I would probably stay there again if ever in Lamai again.

We stayed in the beachfront room and moved to the garden room which it turned out was somewhat smaller but also quieter and more private than the beachfront room. As many of these resorts, checkout involved waiting five minutes for the maid to check to see if you've broken anything. Some hotels, such as this on, handle this better than others. Overall a good value hotel if Lamai beach is your selected location on the island.

The Chaweng Cove is rather far from the main "action" of the Chaweng beach road but worth it as the price & accommodations are a good value for your money. You will find cheaper or much better (I've been in both in Koh Samui) but this is a good choice I would repeat. Pickups will take you along the main road for if you're lazy... The beach is great with chairs, umbrellas & a bar service (sea sports prices are the same along the beach anyway. Pools are 50m from the water line. We didn't eat in the hotel as we wanted as much Thai local food (& Starbucks morning) but other people said it was OK+. Front desk people were friendly, helpful & helped in all requests (tour booking, late check out). I'll be back.

I consider this hotel to be the best hotel in Koh Samui. I had a good value for the money paid and all other services provided were perfect. The breakfast we had was one of the best that we had in Thailand and the bar was very comfortable specially with the beds idea.

Not too close to city center, not too much South where the beach is getting rocky and sand rarefies. The nightlife is not too present, not too much noise if you are in the Ocean Building. The hotel in 2019 was in between two vacant spaces so the rooms give direct view on very nice high trees. The swimming pool is comfortable and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. Highlights: Personal was REALLY nice ans smiling all the time, remembering me etc. They have small emergency item and services (lock saw, additional glasses etc). Thanks to the deposit you can eat without paying directly. Downsides: Towels MUST be changed before 7pm. If not, you cannot get a new towel until next morning.... The shower is hot and cold a bit when it wants (It's a bit everywhere in Thailand though) I would recommend !

I loved my stay at the Montien House Hotel. The hours I spent reading hotel reviews online certainly paid off with this choice. We stayed in a one bedroom pool villa which I got for a great price by booking through Agoda. The hotel is in a prime location in the middle of Chaweng beach, close to restaurants, bars, shopping and pretty much anything you could ask for. The beach out front of the hotel is nice enough, but just a 5-10 minute walk south brings you to the clearest and most beautiful part of the beach. The hotel is just far enough away from the neighboring Ark Bar to not be disturbed by the club music that pumps out of there starting at 10 or 11am each day. The service at the hotel was fantastic - some places think good service means being in your face all the time. This place gets it just right - someone is always there when you need something but otherwise you are pretty much left alone. The one downside might be the small size of the main pool (which is often filled with children splashing), but with our own private pool, this wasn't an issue for us. I would highly recommend this hotel for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in Koh Samui.

The location was beach front on a semi-private beach ( we were there during off-season so there were no crowds whatsoever. ) The room we stayed in was extremely comfortable and clean- we stayed in the pool access king room. Slippers, robes, water and fruit was provided upon arrival. AC worked great, TV worked with a couple of English speaking channels and there are DVDs up front at the desk if you need em. We aren't really TV people, but it was nice to have the option while it was raining. We rented a motorbike for 300Baht per day at the resort to get around town. Food was fantastic... Our room included breakfast, which was wonderful in the restaurant overlooking the ocean. The ONLY notable bummer was the wifi only really worked in the front desk area and sometimes on the patio in the room. Not a big deal, but we chose to gamble by going to Koh Samui during Monsoon season and there was a significant storm. So, with a lack of pool days, it would've been a little more relaxing to work from the room rather than having to walk to the front desk to work. Not bad for normal vacations, in which we wouldn't be so dependent on wifi and if it wasn't raining so hard, working from the patio would've been no problem. The weather put a slight damper on our trip, which is in no way the resort's fault. The warm water in the shower was a little temperamental, but whatever. You're going to an island for vacation. These things happen. The spa was expensive ( western, not thai prices) but there are plenty of places a short motorbike ride away. We will definitely return if we stay on Koh Samui again.

The only beach within walking distance is not nice at all, she didn't offer any other options, we rented a scooter but the roads on Koh Samui are crazy, so we checked out early and moved place on a beach. Reviews talked about how great the owners are but they were not around, I'm sure that affected our stay as well. I would check to make sure they are going to be around. Again the rooms are really lovely.

Clean hostel. Good A/C in rooms and excellent showers. Friendly staff. Convenient location 5 mins from beach, near food market and health food shop, but away from party noise. Large chill out area but they could utilise it more to create social space. I would return here.

Amazing, clean, cold aircon, kind of close to samui airport and the main part of town, can rent scooter from hostel normal samui price, taxis charge way more, no taxi meter on samui! Very friendly korean guy when i checked in. He spoke good english and gave me lots of info and booked me a ferry for 300thb to go to ko phangyang for the next day. Definitely stay again, everything seems new and clean and the wifi was fast when i was there. 20baht towel hire but for 130thb a night or whatever its totally worth it. 500thb for key deposit.

I was there unfortunately during the storm and spent the majority of my time held up in my room waiting it out. The cleaning staff speak zero English, just Russian which makes communicating difficult. There's only one fan for the whole dorm bungalow so it doesn't reach everyone. The bed sheets were too small for the bed and kept coming lose all the time. Wi-Fi was ok but spotty at times. Pool was a nice added bonus of you could use it. Lady at the front (owner) was really helpful with advice and things like that.

Nice and clean place where to stay. It's near Samui main road so you can easily travel around island, not so far from beach. Stuff is friendly and helpfull. Bed's are big and comfortable. It's a little difficult to find hostel. It's not on place where map show it is. More on south, on lights left ;)

It was a very friendly hostel. Clean and very comfortable beds. The owners were really nice and helpful. Arranged a scooter and my ticket back to Bangkok for me. The beach is 10 min walking distance and there are many nice places around for dinner. I definitely recommend to go to Janu - great food for little money!

Would fully recommend to anyone looking for a cheap and relaxing stay. Excellent value for money. Amazing location right on the beach. Lovely staff, great food and happy hour everyday from 5:30-7:30! Not much going on in the area in terms of a party scene but if you’re heading to Koh Samui, you probably already know that. Would stay again.

The place is clean and comfortable. However upon checking in, I discovered a bed bug and was pretty freaked out by it. The reception staff managed to changed me to another bed in the next room. Aircon hours unfortunately only start from 7pm. Overall, a good place for backpackers

My first experience of a hostel and I found it quite private and antisocial but I guess that’s to be expected! P168 is very clean, has great WiFi and really nice, private roof terrace. Staff were really welcoming when I arrived. It’s at the quieter end of the strip in Koh Samui so about a 10-15 minute walk to the main bars.

If you are really on a budget, sleep really well, and do not mind traffic noise, this might be the place for you. If not, think again. The rooms are quite close to a stretch of the Ring Road, where the cars, trucks and motorcycles are flying, so consequently it is a very noisy area. The rooms are equipped with shabby quality sliding doors, and in the case of my room, there was a 1/2 crack between where the door was supposed to meet the wall, and where the actual door ended. So, all night long the noise was tremendous. Very hard to sleep, when you combine that with a very poor mattress, which was quite hard and uncomfortable. My sense of this place, was that it suffers from a cheap charlie owner. One unwilling to spend the money to equip it correctly to begin with, and then spend the money to maintain it. So, the place has seen better days. The plastic furniture around the pool is of stunningly inferior quality, and it is falling apart. Poor water pressure in the rooms. Etc, etc.

This hostel is really good value for backpackers as it has really nice dorm rooms with single beds. It also has private rooms but i haven't seen these. The hostel is above Rinny Travel so its easy to book trips and bus, train and flight tickets really easily. The hostel is a stones throw away from the big shopping mall and the night life of Chawang but quiet enough not to get disturbed at night. The only noise is the vans driving through the streets advertising boxing etc. Rinny and her staff are all very nice people and will do whatever they can to make your stay a good one. This is my second stay in 2 months and i will definitely be back and would recommend this to anyone.

This is the best experience I have had at a hostel in Thailand. The owner Champu is very helpful and incredibly nice. I rented a scooter and booked a car to drive me to the airport for my flight and both transactions were easy and reasonably priced. Breakfast (not included) was reasonable for the area. I appreciated being a little removed from the main road which seemed like it could be very noisy. The wifi in the dorm was spotty but very strong elsewhere throughout the place. A couple of suggestions- it would be useful to have some clotheslines or coat racks in the dorm to dry towels and hang bathing suits at the end of the day. Also, the dining area could use some citronella candles- the mosquitoes were quite active at times. Thanks for a great stay!

Best hostel I've stayed in so far. Pool was great, rooms were clean and cool (has AC), bathrooms nice, service awesome. The staff was so awesome until I saw a cleaning lady beat a dog. Other than the one Thai janitor's proclivity to abuse animals, I have no complaints about this hostel. Many Thai's hurt animals so I can't blame the hostel in any way. If you go to S...

They arranged everything getting it delivered to us. We took advantage of the motorbike rental service as well as them giving us a map and detailed description of the best places to go. The staff made our stay enjoyable wether it was just lounging by the clean pool or chilling in our comfy room on the super fast wifi not what we was expecting as budget travellers. FULLY RECCOMENDED

I booked one bed in the dorm room for a bit over $10, ended up being the only person in that room! The entire place is CLEAN, modern, and well-maintained. Staff are super friendly!

This is the best hotel I've ever stayed at in Thailand. Location right on the beach but still away from the busy chaweng downtown. Rooms are modern and spotless clean with everything you could possibly need. Good beds, Big balcony, shower and tub, beautiful view and even DVD player for when you need a day out of the sun.

Thank you!

samui buri beach resort exceeded our expectations, especially after reading some "not so great" reviews. i'm not really sure what you could complain about with this resort. the villas were huge and after looking at photos, and reading reviews, we were surprised to find that we had our own private pool for our villa. we had expected it to be shared with other villas, but were pleasantly surprised to find out that we had it all to ourselves. i'm not sure why anyone would complain that the villas were "run down" or needed an update, etc. these villas were very clean, very well maintained, and very very quaint. the staff of the resort were very friendly always saying hello and sawasdee kaa along the way. they were very attentive when we asked for rides into chaweng and bo phut. they were also very helpful any time we had questions about anything. the infinity pool area is amazing and swimming around with a view like that was a complete delight. the beach area was nice, a little smaller than normal, but still quite lovely. a few more beach chairs and umbrellas would be great in that area as i know a lot of the lounge chairs were gone by first thing in the morning. that, if anything, would be my only suggestion. keep up the great work samui buri beach resort, we will definitely recommend this place to others when traveling so koh samui.

The staff is so friendly and accommodating and the rooms are clean and nice. The restaurant serves delicious food and the breakfast has many choices to choose from. We loved it and would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a place in Koh Samui. Saemyi and Morten

Our stay at Dara Samui was excellent! The Resort itself is designed to provide guests with the taste of Thailand. The decor in the ground and in rooms is beautiful and always of extreme cleanliness. The rooms are comfortable, secure and offers everything that a traveller could require! The location of the resort is great, guests are able to walk across the road to great shopping markets, get a massage, experience other restaurants and nightlife of Koh Samui. In all our time in Koh Samui, staying at Dara Samui allowed us to save money on taxis. The pool and beach aspect of the hotel is brilliant and relaxing. The hotel staff and so helpful and always provide a high standard of service. Restaurants within the resort are of high recommendation!! There is no need to leave the resort and eat anywhere else, the food and beverage menu offers variety and value for money, we were very impressed. Even our friends who were staying at another resort would come and dine with us in our restaurants!! We went on a day safari that we were able to easily organise through Dara Samui reception, this was an incredible experience assisted by the helpful reception staff. Overall, I would highly recommend staying at Dara Samui, I have no complaints, the resort meets all needs from families to couples to solo travellers!!

The staffs are friendly, foods are tasty. They do not have own beach but is easily assessible as the beach is just beside. The jacuzzi is nice, it will definitely be better if they can provide more shuttle as the taxi is expensive in samui. Great experience overall

We enjoyed our balcony overlooking the pool. Very convenient shuttles to the Fisherman's Village and reliable van service. Breakfast buffet is excellent! With a variety of Western and Asian options - you cannot go wrong! The fruit was always fresh, coffee delicious, and the omelettes cooked to perfection. I was also surprised at how good the french toast was! Their private beachside was sooo nice! Very quiet and peaceful - you can swim and lay on the beach without being crowded. Staff was very helpful, approachable, and a pleasure to work with. Overall, if we are back in Koh Samui we are staying at Prana! Would highly recommend!!

For example, i didn't mention about my birthday, but the staff come to find me with a birthday cake and sing a lovely birthday song for me. This really touched. And although there is no beach in Baan Haad Ngam, but that place is the best area to swim in Koh Samui because the wave is calm there. Other place during our stay almost can't swim due to the high wave. And it's cheap to rent a motorbike from Baan Haad Ngam, they even let us extend our renting time without charging any extra fee.

Le Murraya in Koh Samui is a gorgeous hotel, with kind and caring staff who are always there for you. After a hot day on the ferry over from Koh Phangnan we turned up earlier than expected. After giving them my confirmation email, they straight away offered us a free upgrade to the Junior Deluxe Suite from are standard normal room. We was then greeted with nice cold refreshing towels and a nice cold drink. They apologised that the room wasn't ready however we was early for check in and we was in our room within 20 minutes of arriving at the hotel. A lovely young woman then took us all the way to a suite which was waiting us. When we entered we was gob smacked at how beautiful this place was. A huge kitchen, living room and dining area was presented right before us. We then explored and found 2 stunning bathrooms with all amenities included. The bed was extremely comfy and we had a superb sleep! Next was the pool, which is gorgeous! Nice and refreshing cool water, jacuzzi and beautiful surroundings of palm trees and comfy sun loungers. There is enough shade and sun to sit under depending on what you want. The only downside was the breakfast which wasn't to bad however not a wide range of choice. It was abit stale but that could be due to not coming down until 09:45am when it finishes at 10:30am. They did however prepair us some fresh eggs to accompany our breakfast. Overall this hotel is amazing, it's close enough to the beach and centre, the staff are brilliant and we enjoyed are free upgrade to the Junior Deluxe Suite. This hotel has most defiantly set high standards for myself and my friends who stayed here.

I would reccommend the Sarann Hotel to anyone that wants a romantic holiday in Koh Samui. It was an experience I will never forget. A+ I cannot rave about it more. Pool is beautiful.

The walk into town is 5 -10 mins along the beach and enjoyable. My room was comfortable and ok for me but lived on the beach area so no fuss. Breakfast was not bad and not good. The bar area was great and staff were excellent special mention to Jarinya and Rung for looking after me so well thanks. The restaurant food was lovely and excellent quality believe me. just pizza was not the best. reception staff lacked some personality I felt not rude not friendly. Overall this place rocks for families and couples and single ppl alike. If I had 1 thing I did not like was lack of entertainment in bar area In the evening

A little bit far from the action. Mosquitoes are not THAT bad compared to most hotels in Koh Samui (they come in when housekeeping cleans the rooms). The hotel is sleepy and quiet so if you want to party it up a bit, Ark Bar (and hotel) is a few hundred meters up the beach. I might try staying there next time.

The Sea however provided several complimentary services to accommodate us. The location is ideal for quiet time on the beach and there are several local restaurants within easy walking distance (either on the beach or the road outside)if you want to sample other Thai food. For the sights or night life you do need transport as The Sea is quite far from the busy centres and while we hired a car the hotel does provide a shuttle service. The staff are very friendly and spoke good English. I wish to compliment the front desk who were very helpful when my luggage had failed to arrive from Bangkok.

The staff immediately learns your name & goes above & beyond to assure you have a memorable getaway. The pool with swim up bar is lovely & the waterfront setting is breathtaking. There are kayaks & SUP to utilize. The daily breakfast is fresh & delicious & on Wednesdays there is a complimentary happy hour with band that we were lucky enough to join. Rory, the resort owner, joined the festivities & he couldn't have been kinder & more accommodating. I travel a lot & this was far & away one of the best resorts I've ever stayed at-- across the board.

my husband and i and our 2 small children stayed at the samui boat lagoon from april 7-14, 2011 shortly after the news about flooding in koh samui. i am so glad and thankful that we went. we had an amazing time in the 2 bedroom villa with our own private pool. the place was clean and perfect for a family who wanted to enjoy a nice week in the sun (we had great weather by the way eventhough it was forecast rain for the entire week). the beach by the resort is not suitable for children because the water is about 2 meters deep but we had no issues with that since our kids enjoy the pool better. the villa's were very quiet and private and the staff was great at helping us with whatever we needed. there is no restaurant on the resort but there are many places close by to get food and a restaurant that delivers to the resort. with your own kitchenette and a convience store close by we were absolutely happy. there was also free wifi in your own villa which was a big bonus. thank you to everyone at samui for helping us have a great holiday. i will definitely recommend this place and would love to come back one day.

The room actually is cozy, and in fact not much space for your luggage, but come on, you are in Koh Samui and dont spend too much time in the room. Only when it rains a week your might become claustrophic :-)! The outside bathroom was nice, we informed th ehotel in advance to get a room far away and with soft matresses, so they prepared everything well, in addition we got a nice welcome setup for our honeymoon! The food served is very delicious, of course you get it cheaper outside, but if you eat in the resort you might have a better food quality. The Spa is nice (on the beachside), of course again if you go outide you might get it cheaper, but if you use the Happy Hour offers you have a great ambience, so all is up to you. The Saree Samui is a perfect place for people who are looking for a quiet and peaceful place, several dining option close to the resort. We will come back for sure!!!

I stayed in the tent villa (Coconut room). The interior decorations take you away to another time. The outdoor bathroom is a good twist as well. We were lucky enough to have some time to enjoy the pool by ourselves late one afternoon, there was hardly anyone using it, but it was in great condition (I think it's quite new - mid 2017). The staff are extremely professional, including reception, restaurant and concierge. The food at the restaurant is high quality too. Reception can help you with tours and any travel requests around Koh Samui. If you're keen to check out the surrounding area on your own, it's a short walk up the main road to a small strip with restaurants and massage studios. The beach is beautiful with soft white sands. Well worth a stay here.

Massages on the Beach are a special attraction. Language ( English ) is a problem here and everywhere in Koh Samui. Some basic Google interpretation help is necessary. I would recommend this Briza beach resort to all categories of Travellers

There was very few guests when we were there so we more or less had the staff's full attention. The location was excellent with affordable food available just a little ways down along the beach. Only complaint was there were quite a bit of mozzies and they had to shut down the water for some maintenance work which they did at a sensible hour and gave us ample notice. The water took a while to get back to a normal colour but really we didn't mind. I'm really struggling to think of something non-positive to say. Hahaha!

The hotel also provide a shuttle bus to 2 nearby shopping places at a reasonable price of 50 to 100 baht.

i wanted to take my girlfriend on a holiday that would take her breath away. although i did keep the hotel a surprise (and may have even played it down on the way there!) the entire experience upon arrival; the location, hotel grounds, service, private beach/bay, and finally the awe inspiring villa itself ended up bringing her to tears of joy and gratitude - mission accomplished! you'll see why she had this reaction when you get there. value is everything to me. whatever i pay, if it's a little or a lot, i expect to get what i paid for. if it is a little, i expect little and i am happy with anything extra. if i pay more though, my expectations grow. i wanted to avoid all of the "fakes" that pretend to be 5 star, but was at first nervous about paying my way out of the nerves associated with poor quality...my bank account usually doesn't permit me to do so. having been to banyan tree bangkok, and now banyan tree koh samui.... i don't regret a thing. pros: everything. might sound over the top.. but it is everything you see in all of the pictures and more. we were in a villa that was almost at the top of the mountain and had uninterrupted views of the southern coast of koh samui. it was completely private (it was clearly designed to be this way), and very peaceful. every whim had been thought of and provided. the grounds are huge and you can get complimentary buggy rides wherever you need to go (breakfast, private beach, lobby etc). our host (butler?) was very helpful, and all staff speak english very well. hammock, 2 different sets of sun beds on either side of the villa, 3 separate divisions in the villa (lounge area, bedroom, and bathroom). fresh fruit every day. extensive menu for both in room or restaurant dining. "activities" every day!!! yoga at sunrise/sunset, snorkelling, kayaking etc etc... all complimentary!!! the breakfast was typical of banyan tree, completely decadent and wide ranging. everything you could want at an extremely high standard

It was an excellent and a very memorable experience staying in Conrad Koh Samui. The location is quite remote, but the view there and their beach will worth everything.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Samui.

So many choices and you can sit in side or outside. The tour desk has so many great tours avaiable, we did a private tour of the island which is perfect if there are only certain things you want to see, it was extremely cheap too. Hotel staff are really friendly nothing was too much trouble. 24 hour security, not that its probably needed but nice to know its there. Hotel in good location for shopping and eating out and so many relaxed bars around for happy hour! My friend and I are in our late 20's and loved it! Perfect girls holiday. Huge rande of hotel guests, families, singles, honeymooners good variety of people. Overall was a great stay, just eat out as you'll save alot, and the resturants outside (literally across the road) are full of life and an "authentic" thai experience. Would stay here again!

Wonderful Experience! The staff made our 10 year anniversary very special. The Malee Villa was absolutely amazing! Very private! Large plunge infinity pool was a real treat. Outdoor jacuzzi with a view gave it an even better experience. Room service was prompt and the food from Blue Ginger restaurant was simply fantastic. All the staff were great. Always smiling and friendly and willing to make us happy and comfortable. Front desk with Tang, Sew, and R were awesome. They gave us each a free massage for putting up with a little construction noise next to our villa. Very much appreciated. The Sandalwood Spa was also excellent. Ann, Nga, and Da helped us relax during and after our many treatments. The special milk bath in our jacuzzi one evening was a real nice surprise. Kai and staff at the restaurant made dining each day something to look forward to. The pool villas are very amazing and we will definitely book for at least 7-8 nights next time we stay in Koh Samui! What a beautiful view and experience at Sandalwood! We highly recommend vacationing to unwind and relax here.

My husband and i stayed here for our ten year anniversary and it turned out to be everything we wanted in a resort for a relaxing romantic get away. From the rooms, the location, the restaurants, the staff and the resort itself it was perfect. Consider what you want from your time in Koh Samui and if its shopping, bars, night life and your not prepared to travel via taxi or resort transport every where I would suggest stay somewhere else. The location of the Melati in Thongson Bay is perfectly isolated for relaxing, unwinding and enjoying the beautiful views, the bay and the resort. The restaurants are both superb and reasonably priced for a 5 star resort. The staff are friendly and attentive without being overbearing and the resort grounds are well maintained. All round a fantastic resort in an even more fantastic location.

Once they resolved the toilet issue, then it's the bathroom flooding issue... in which the receptionist, Ms Pui, managed to move us to another room at night time and it completely resolved our toilet problems. We enjoyed our stay here and would like to thank Outrigger staffs for making our stay memorable. There was one beach staff who was very helpful when our son fell on the beach rock and his knee was bleeding. He quickly grabbed the first-aid kid and administered it to our son. We are very appreciative for his help as well. Though the location is a bit inwards, for travelers who would like to save a bit of money, you can easily rent bike or car from the outside hotel small store - Power B travel - and it has laundry service as well. We definitely would not hesitate to come back if we happen to visit Koh Samui again.

Walk few steps down to the beach and swimming pool, the beach is very clean and sea is peacful, its only a beach can swim in Koh Samui in raining reason, very good service at the pool side, the staff will serve you a cold water and towel, and the other swimming pool beside the reataurant is face to garden view also really nice, and the bar view is very good to see sunset. The restaurant serve food is very delious and ro,atic enviroment. The hotel is the best I was stay in Koh Samui.

I can't fault Mai Samui and would go back in a heart beat. I guess the only negative would be the fact it isn't amongst the more populated areas in Koh Samui (some would see this as a positive if wanted to just go and relax). I guess the only negative would be the fact it isn't amongst the more populated areas in Koh Samui (some would see this as a positive if wanted to just go and relax). With that said the hotel provides complimentary transfers to Chaweng (the most popular beach in Samui). We went on a few tours and it turned out this hotel was close to the port where we got our boat from so we we're pleased with that. The resort itself was simply stunning. The grounds were gorgeous and well maintained (we saw staff checking ph levels in pools, sweeping the sand and doing other general upkeep tasks on a regular basis). Staff we're amazing, they were so helpful and attentive and made our stay one I will never forget. The three restaurants were great, the buffet breakfast was the best I have ever had and the Thai coffee is a must try!!

You can look at a hundred pictures of Blue View but nothing will ever prepare you for the experience of seeing it for the first time. This villa is something completely special and the full experience is enhanced by the wonderful Sugar her family and staff. It is impossible to find fault with this villa it is beautiful and so well looked after. The vista of the infinity pool and the outdoor space is one to be remembered. The outdoor entertaining was great fun with the Bose music system. Sugar arranged for the chef to Cook us lunch and the resulting banquet was memorable. I can honestly say that we enjoyed every aspect of Blue View but the best part was Sugar and family they are wonderful hosts and some of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet, they really looked after us well and went out of their way to make our time with them memorable. I would say you do need a 4x4 car with this villa as to get the amazing views the villa is high up a steep hill.

Overall this hotel is located near the beach. The service level of the staff is fantastic. The hotel and room cleaniness is good. The buffet breakfast that we had is fantastic as well. I would recommend people that not are looking for a villa to stay in Koh Samui, Sheraton is a good alternative if you want a 5 star service.

The pool is gorgeous, just like in the pictures and it was wonderful and relaxing to spend the days between bathing in the sea and pool. The hotel has a nice gym and a library that i used to pick 2 books and read during our stay. The breakfast is very good too. The only negative aspect about the hotel was that the prices of restaurant and spa are too high and there is no activities/ animation after 7pm. But these are minor points because in 15min walking we can find very nice restaurants in fisher man village which was my favorite town in the island. There is even a night market at mondays wednesdays and fridays very clean with great cheap food. There are also 2 or 3 places to eat in the beach just next to celes and many spas with great massages with reasonable prices. We loved our stay and realy recommend celes and fishermam village for a great relaxing stay in koh samui.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel! It was a good price for the space we get! We stayed at room 303, Pool Villa (Garden View). I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel! It was a good price for the space we get! We stayed at room 303, Pool Villa (Garden View). It was located on the 3rd floor accessible by stairs, it has 2 rooms with bathroom attached (one of the room was sort of like a dining area and the other one was a bedroom) and a nicely-sized pool. The rooms were in good condition and clean, no broken fixture. The bathroom in the main room had a rain shower and jacuzzi, while the other had an open roof rain shower. The only thing I had to point out was the rust in our jacuzzi bath. First we thought the water was yellowish because of the rust around the metal fixtures. I still don't know if the water in Koh Samui was just naturally yellowish or was there something wrong with the water tanks at this hotel. However, this did not ruined our pleasant stay there. And just like other comments, the service wasn't great. I ordered room service and the dishes were cleared from our rooms but were left outside our villa by the door for more then 2 days despite informing the front desk. They were fast at serving your orders but slow at follow up. The food was good. It was also my bf's birthday and I had emailed them earlier to request for special setting. We found a cake in the fridge when we came back from dinner one night. I don't think they are 5 stars, but a 4 stars is about right. Overall, a good hotel with really spacious pool villa!

Upon check-in we were greeted with great smiles from the staff and obviously they were very prepared for our check-in. We enjoyed our stay... the restaurants Pak Thai was especially good for local food and the in-room dining is beyond imagination. We would love to stay again in this hotel the next time we visit Koh Samui.

Traveler impressions of Koh Samui
Beach is a site focused on nightlife, beautiful beaches and if you have a car there is no problem relax in nature and attractions .
. very happy to be returning to Koh Samui
Tips: daily trips to surrouding islands - especially Angthong Marine National Park, note: temples to be located in the south are not easy to be "detected", very nice beach at Chaveng Noi (south Chaveng); very cheap renting of motorcycles (4-7 EUR per day)
we were 6 people came first time to Samui it was really great experience the Resort was totally on the beach with a very calm and great locations specially ideal for honey mooners, specially the staff were excellent, we also rented bikes from resort on a very cheap rate.
the stay was really unforgettable we will certainly go with our families, the resort was 2km far from the main market but near by every things were available.
great place to vacation, especially during low season, try and stay at least 2-3 weeks because there is so much to do.
Samui is the least desirable of the Thai islands. It has been commercialised and over populated. Locals have got tired of the tourism and view it is a nuisance.
Samui has nice beaches and many tourist attractions. The local food is very good. There are many kind of travel there not only beach.
However, when we went for other island, the quality of sea is not good.No coral to see when snorkel.
Don't get me wrong, I totally love Samui. But for a person who has the luxury to holiday in Thailand several times a year, there are better places to go, depending on what you want.
For one, Samui shopping & hotel variety and prices are definitely not the cheapest in the country. IMHO this iS because Samui sees much less crowds than say BKK or Phuket. The latter two are also much better in terms of food & nightlife besides the hotels & shopping I just mentioned. Also regional flights cost nearly double that of BKK & Phuket. Something to do with airport taxes I gather. There are no direct flights to Samui from outside the region & semi limited/expensive flights from within. This doesn't make it worthwhile for travelers staying less than a week or first time visitors without a gameplan. There are some great neighboring islands to Samui, ie Phangan, Tao & the other dozens that scatter the area. However, unlike Phuket, the travel agents day tours available are slightly lacking in terms of sights and price. Best would be to do your homework and pick a few to stay the night instead. Most hotels can arrange transport for you, else get on the daily ferry for cheap. Finally, the main groups of travelers visible on chaweng & haad rin are the full moon party goers. Think Mardi Gras with possibly less clothing with equal amounts for booze and drugs. This might deter families or elderly groups as brash young noisy inebriated party animals spill out to the streets throughout that 'time of the month'. For those who go in search of this, my advice is stay on chaweng and hop over to Phangan for a couple of days during the full moon. So yeah, great place, great sights but overall in Thailand, Samui will never score higher than places like Phuket & BKK (includes surrounding areas close enough to day trip) in terms of food, fashion, shopping, sights, sports, nightlife, history, hotels and the likes. If you've never been, I suggest you head there first.
Perfect weather all year round with direct flights from Singapore. Not as economical as Phuket or Krabi but the people are nicer.
Samui is a big island, there are a lot of restaurants and dive centres and also small shops shopping.
Spa and massage centres are everywhere.
NICE PLACE TO STAY YOU CAR HIRE CAR AND MOVE AROUND ,AT NGT PARTY IN ARK BAR IN BEACH WILL BE BEST THINGS TO DO AND NIGHT
I was in Samui 3 nights before leaving to Koh Phangan for the Fullmoon party. Unfortunately, the weather was not so nice because it rained but my friends and i still went for a swim in the pool.
We had Thai massage near the beach where we can listen to the waves which for me is very relaxing. When the sun is shining, there are many other outdoor activities like kayaking, stand-up paddling, sunbathing, etc. It is easy to buy stuff (food, sunglasses, drinks, beach balls, more like what you need on the beach) since people who sell these will come up to you. Many great food and fruits here as well, you've got to try the banana-nutella crepe :) We party three nights, which was every night we were there, more like a preparation for the fullmoon party haha. There are also a tour to other islands, Koh tao+ Koh Nangyuan where you can scuba diving or go up to a view point.
My forth visit and keeps getting worse. A very noisy island where you are constanly bombarded by party, thai boxing, shooting range and japanese massage messages played repetitivly and extremly loundly most of the day and night.
The taxis are a complete rip off who refuse to use meters even though legally obliged and everything in general is about 30% more expensive than the mainland. I will not be coming back.
Caters for broad spectrum of traveler - from wealthy to back backers. Be careful where you choose to stay, which also depends on what you want.
If it is mostly nightlife - Chaweng. More quieter secluded relaxing time maybe to the north or NW [Maenam / Bang Po / Thong Phiu] in a resort. Lamai has a big mix. Scooter / car rental good idea to do your own thing. Sporting things included diving, snorkeling, kayaking, jet skiing, parasailing, kick boxing [very popular], Cable Rides etc. All sorts of food outlets from good restaurants to local family eateries. People very friendly, helpful & easy going. Was a bit disappointed at the beaches & getting access to them, if it wasn't part of your resort.
Samui is a melting pot of drinking joints and restaurants with a huge selection from fine dining to street food.
For adventurous individuals, there is the nature reserves, marine parks and the waterfalls to explore. For couples going for their honeymoons or anniversary trips, there is a string of spas to relax and unwind and also the sandy beaches to take a stroll. For individuals whom are on a soul searching journey, there are various religious locations around the island and also places offering yoga lessons.
Samui is an island that become famous now which good but also bad in the same time as it is become too many people when comparing with the past 5-6 years.
As mentioned before on the Hotel review, Samui is victim of mass tourism, not bad but overrated and overpriced , won't be back, better places to see in Thailand .
..
Very small town. Can easily access by foot and motorcycle. easy to find halal food especially for muslim.
Honeymoon couples should try Krabi instead. Its a better place. Koh-Samui is over ratted and over crowded.
having seen the island of Samui 20 years ago the last time, I have to say it has changed a lot (but then the whole world had changed).
Chaweng area is very busy and there can be traffic jams, especially in the afternoons. Bophut and Maenam still has its charme, but it became also more busy. The beach isn't that great, but is is less crowded and cheaper at Lamai Beach.
Samui lost the Thai charm that you still find in Koh Chang. To many tourists and business. Hard to find the Thaismile that you still find at the East Coast.
expected blue clear water with amazing beach and nice urban area, but found something else... still nice place to relax, highly recommend to take the 42 islands tour, the waterfall do not worth the burden
very good beach & place but very poor ferry transport & ferry management. im wait 6 hour for my turn.
There is something for everyone in Koh Samui. Golf, temples, islands for snorkeling, diving and not to mention tonnes of great places to eat.
Samui is a lovely holiday destination and a great place to visit. Chaweng beach has some good hotels right on the beach and excellent cheap places to eat.
You can go out on day trips via boat to visit other islands from here, the snorkelling is great.
Airport or boat, koh samui is easily accessible. Quite a large island, there is a lot to do here. View points, mountains, boat trips, shopping, nightlife, restaurants etc.
.. lovely beaches and friendly locals.
Samui is not as big as Phuket but more natural than Phuket. It is a good place for relaxing yourself especially spa and massage are at a very reasonal prices.
Seafoods in Samui can find in everywhere and they are all very fresh and well cooked.
Don't ever go to Samui, very very expensive, just a rip off. much much cheaper in BKK, Pattaya, Puhket.
I will never return to Samui.
this is a very happening beach. every month got a fullmoon party there . can go and had funs there .
no need to tak taxi beacuse its quiote expensive. can rent a motor and only cost 200bht per day. can go AKH BAr at night time .
very happening bar ,
sun bathing everyday at the beach, riding motorcycle to anywhere, rental for small and cute motorcycle is 150 THB

More about Koh Samui
Chaweng is Samui's most popular beach, and resorts in the area have direct access to the shoreline and the island's exciting night scene.
A 10-minute drive to the south is Lamai beach, which features hotels and resorts that are geared more toward rest and relaxation instead of nightlife. However, those looking for an exciting evening can head to the famous Lamai Walking Street and take in the sights and sounds of Samui nightlife. There is a full range of hotels on Lamai Beach so travelers will find anything from backpacker hostels to luxury villas.
On the northern coast of the island is Bo Phut, which is far less developed than the other beaches and therefore offers a little more seclusion. Ang Thong Marine National Park is also a popular destination among visitors to this island, especially those on a family vacation. Koh Samui is a favorite among vacationers because it offers a great balance between lazy days spent relaxing on the beach and exciting nightlife.
