Railay Bay Resort & Spa (SHA Extra Plus)
Railay,Krabi - View on map
"We booked the hotel with - including a free upgrade to a privacy cottage. I wouldnt recommend paying extra for a beach facing villa because you are facing the pool then the beach so you dont get any privacy in your room - privacy cottages are set back a little, we were in room 9004 which was on West Railay as the numbers get higher you are heading to East Railay which isnt as nice. If you read any comments about the staff then i would ignore them - i would say that the island has mixed cultures from the surrounding countries. The thai people are lovely and yes some of the other staff that work their are little abrupt but i would ignore it We got to the hotel via traveling from Krabi airport to ao nang via taxi (500bhart) and then longtail boat to west Railay - be aware of low tide and having to wade out in the sea with bags - it cost 100 bhart each and goes when 8 or more people were ready. Recommend only looking at hotels on West Railay if you want the beautiful scenery - hence why East railay is cheaper and to be honest smells with sewage. The tide goes at lunch leaving a muddy shore behind. I think this part of the island is the trade entrance for the hotels. Boat ride from Railay to Krabi 45mins longtail boat - nothing really worth visiting in the town - would suggest Ao Nang for shopping and if you need western shops this is your place. Hired a longtail boat for half a day 1600 bhart - island hoping around chicken island and Pra Nang Beach worth exploring - Ko Phi Phi is at least 2.30hrs away via longtail boat. Rayavadee Hotel is a must for dinner for at least 1 night - it is one of the top 100 places to stay in the world and whilst it is expensive to sleep their the restaurant is good value - you pay about £30 for wine compared to about £10 back home but to be honest we were sick of Singha beer towards the end of our tip. I would say that the Railay Bay resort which is next door to Rayavadee is the second best hotel on the Island es"

Sea Seeker Krabi Resort (SHA Extra Plus)

"I enjoyed our stay at Sea Seeker hotel in Krabi. The staff was very accommodating when we asked to switch our room to something quieter, they were able to find one on a higher floor away from the pool (and kids screaming). Breakfast was included and had pretty good options to choose from (american/asian foods) tea, coffee, juice. However, it was always very crowded in the restaurant area. The hotel is pretty far from the beach, you'd have to walk about 15-20 mins passing a street with markets and stores where the locals are trying to sell you stuff (lots of amazing Thai massage places for under $10 though - must try!). Overall, very pleasant stay! :)"

"We were greet by the staffs at the entrance of the hotels and they brought us to the lobby to enjoy welcome drink and some snacks while they complete the check in for us. Everything was smooth and the staffs were well trained and Super friendly and attentive. The hotel is new and everything in the room is new. Even the scary kettle in most of the hotel looks clean and good in this hotel. Breakfast selection ranges from western, Chinese to Thai, taste very good. However, We stayed there for 5 days and the menu remains unchanged( probably only one or two dishes that changed like fish porridge to chicken porridge?) location is good, in the middle of the shops, tourist center and restaurants. This is probably not the most luxury hotel in krabi but it gives very warm feeling everytime I step in. Highly recommended!!"

Bhu Nga Thani Resort & Spa (SHA Plus+)
Railay,Krabi - View on map
"We ended up here after a lot of bouncing around Southern Thailand for a wedding. It's a beautiful, comfortably place in a quiet, young outpost of Krabi. It's about a 10 minute walk to the beach on West Raliay and 5 to the best beach in the area via a short paved trail on the south west. You can't swim on this side of the island, but there's a lot more going on, and the pool and rooms are so incredibly comfortable, it's worth it. Definitely stay here if you have a chance, a short jump from Krabi or Ao Nang and so much nicer. "

"We decided to spend songkran down at a beach location, and I had never been to Krabi before. When deciding on a Krabi hotel, I wanted a decent sized resort in a central location, that was right on the beach. Krabi Resort ticked all those boxes. When I arrived, I quickly determined that I had picked the optimal resort for the area as Krabi resort was the most centrally located, and one of only a very few that had direct access to the beach. The reason is the resort is one of the originals for the area, but the over the years it has expanded a lot, meaning you can choose between a lot of accommodation options, eg hotel style rooms, or semi detached rooms, to fully detached villas with their own private pool. The resort itself is large and they drive you to your room after you check in. Facilities include two pool areas (one done like a pirate ship), a fantastic gym, large scale chess board with pieces set up, multiple restaurants, mini golf, bicycles for rent, beach, massage etc."

"This was our first trip to Thailand and we stayed at this resort for 5 nights. We were easily able to get a public mini bus from Krabi airport to the hotel and this cost 150 baht per person. On arrival at the hotel (and throughout our stay) the staff were so friendly and welcoming. We stayed in a tree top bungalow which was stunningly beautiful, huge room. I’m not sure I’ll have a bath with a view that good again! The rooms are up a steep hill but there was always a buggy with a friendly driver ready to take us up to our room. Because there’s only about 80 rooms the resort never felt busy and around the pool was always quiet and relaxing. We ate food from the restraunt twice & although the food was pleasant we mainly ate our in ao nang. Best places we found to eat outside of the hotel; jungle kitchen & Kodak kitchen. They do not sell alcohol at the hotel however there is a tesco next door and they were happy for us to bring drinks by the pool and in our room. Memories we will treasure."

Krabi Heritage Hotel (SHA Extra Plus)
Ao Nang,Krabi - View on map
"I stayed in three hotels in Krabi over the course of a week to try out different areas. This was definitely the best. The location is superb. It's 5 minutes' walk to the beach and the main strip of shops and restaurants is only about 50 meters away. The room was bright and spacious and the view from the balcony was breathtaking. The deluxe rooms face the ocean and I think it's well worth paying a bit extra. The buffet breakfast wasn't that great, but with literally dozens of cheap alternatives nearby, it's hardly important. There is a fantastic seafood restaurant called "Bamboo" located not far from Krabi Heritage. To get there, turn right on the main street when you exit reception. My wife and I tried loads of restaurants in the week we were in Krabi; this was the only one we went back to. Also, there is a really good bar nearby with nightly live music called "The Irish Rover". Even though there is a lot of nightlife nearby, the hotel itself is quiet and peaceful once you're inside. Would definitely stay at the Krabi Heritage again. Nice enough hotel and it was great being in the middle of everything and not needing transport. Recommended."

Beyond Resort Krabi
Klong Muang,Krabi - View on map
"We only stayed at the Beyond Resort for one night in February 2017, but we liked our stay there. PROS: The infinity pool overlooking the private beach is the biggest draw. Unlike other resorts along Klong Muang beach, the beyond resort krabi has its own private beach right in front of the hotel, that is accessible without crossing the road (unlike at the sofitel). The spread at the breakfast buffet is also great, with an omelette bar and both western and eastern-style cuisine. There was a nice evening cocktail HH where drinks were buy 1 get 1 free. At sunset, we were able to walk along the beach past the next hotel to watch the gorgeous sunset. There were also several villas available, some of which had their own private pool, which looked amazing! CONS: Katagroup bills this hotel as a "luxury resort" but after having stayed at several truly luxurious hotels in Thailand, including the Sofitel Krabi Phokeethra down the road, this is not a luxury hotel. The building is built strangely, with eerily quiet, closed-off hallways. The location is stunning but the building itself, although only three years old, is showing some signs of wear and tear. I booked a deluxe seaview room and was initially placed in a room on the side of the hotel, and had to request a room that actually had a view of the sea. While there may be more luxurious hotels in the area, in terms of a price-to-quality ratio, the Beyond Resort Krabi is an excellent choice, particularly for young couples and families."
