"Upon arrival at the hotel, it was not as we had expected. The hotel is in need of some updating with both the decor and gardens (if that's what they could be called) looking tired. We were welcomed in a cordial way and directed to our room. Upon arriving at our room it had an overpowering smell of fresh cigarette smoke, so much so that it could be smelt on the other side of the closed door. I went to the reception and asked for a non-smoking room. The initial response from the receptionist was that I could open a window. His colleague saw my eventual frustration and stepped in to give me the keys to a non-smoking room. This was pleasant but did not feel clean and the pillows and mattress were not comfortable. We were only staying one night so settled in and went away to find some supper. This hotel is in a good location for the Tanjung Gemuk ferry, but I doubt I will book again, even if it does result in an earlier 3am departure from my home in order to catch the early boat."

" Plenty of rooms and accepts last minute bookings. You need to pay deposit of RM50 in cash. They also have hourly stay (3hrs / 6hrs) for people who in transit for the boat ride to Tioman. The place is just after the bridge and easy to find. Beside KFC, mamak restaurant, and a pharmacy. Across the building is a Malay food restaurant that operates early in the morning until late night in case you arrive late. Room is clean and everything functions. You can hear the next room quite loudly though, that's the only negative thing. Recommended for Tioman transit travellers or if you've events in Kuala Rompin, it's just ~20mins away."
