"I was traveling in Japan for 18 days, going to various hotels and places. Kyoto is definitely the place I love the most. Lots of places to go and see here. This hotel is definitely way excellent. Staff are very friendly, they help with direction, suggestion to go, one staff even mapped out a nice bike track for me to follow to Harashiyama. The hotel is very new. Room is big and high class... worthy of a 5 star hotel room. The location is very nice, it is at Sanjo where the centre of activities in Kyoto are. I will defn go back to Japan, and Kyoto is defn the place to come back to and this hotel is the place to stay at. "

"This was my first trip to Kyoto and the hotel was definitely the highlight. The lobby (and entire building) smelled amazing! The staff spoke excellent english and the check in/out was smooth. They also offer luggage storage after check out and called us a cab to the station. The hotel also has a private hot spring bath thats a must to try in Japan! All in all I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kyoto! Hint: the location is amazing!!!! 500m from a high rated tea ceremony experience company (read: Maikoya), 100m from a mini market, and is super close to 3 different subway stations!"

The Royal Park Hotel Kyoto Shijo

"This is a great hotel for a traveler who wants a very clean, well-located hotel, without paying for the “frills” that one rarely uses. Staff is very helpful, The rooms are large enough so one is comfortable spending an afternoon lounging about (which we did due to a typhoon sweeping thru Japan), the coffee shop serves a nice variety of food (although I wish that it served Japanese breakfast as is served in the sister hotel on Sanjo-dori), and there are lots of excellent restaurants (everything from a vegetarian buffet to top notch Japanese kaiseki), within 2 blocks. Several bus lines run along the main thoroughfare outside front door, and Kyoto Subway is at the front door, making it very convenient to go anywhere In the City (Kyoto train station 2 stops away ). This is my “go to” hotel in Kyoto! "

Hotel Hokke Club Kyoto

"Pros: Superb location, I came out from Kyoto metro station towards Kyoto tower direction, straightaway saw it on the left hand side of Kyoto tower. Very clean and nicely decorated with quality amenities hotel room. I stayed in the single non smoking room but the room was provided with a queen size bed that can fit two adults (Of course I don’t mean oversized adults). It’s spacious enough to have a small single sofa, small round table and a stool inside the room. Definitely more spacious than most Kyoto hotel room. Nearby there’re numerous nice food stalls or restaurants. Transport wise is definitely a big plus as there are many buses going to tourist attractions. Kyoto metro station is right in front of the hotel. Hotel lobby is at level 2. Level 1 has a nice cafe provided good coffee. Didn’t have chance to eat the breakfast but should be good since the coffee smells good. I will definitely come back again if I come to Kyoto! Cons: no. "

RIHGA Royal Hotel Kyoto
Kyoto,Kyoto - View on map
"RIHGHA Royal Kyoto is a beautiful hotel with the most friendly and attentive staff! My friend and I stayed in the Kyoto Style Superior Twin. I was very satisfied with the size of the room, given that often rooms in Japan are too small. I found the bed and pillow to be comfortable, and I loved the sitting area with the sliding shoji-screens over the windows. (Note: is it very easy to see into the room from outside the hotel.) Our amenities were Laura Ashley, with facial products from Pola. There is a free shuttle bus between Kyoto Station and the hotel every 15 minutes. As it was a short walk and we had little luggage, we did not use this service but it certainly is handy. It is too bad that guests with tattoos are not allowed to use the pool. However, we spent out time site-seeing and eating out, so we did not have time regardless. The best part was the cake I ordered for my friend, delivered at midnight! It made for an excellent birthday surprise. Thank you all, RIHGA Royal Kyoto :)"

"we loved staying at the kyoto brighton hotel. the room we stayed in was a double room and it was very spacious. the bathroom is very big, we enjoyed taking showers there. the rooms are clean and comfortable. the neighborhood is quite which was nice. the concierge was very helpful, they helped us book our restaurants, printed out maps and ordered our meals in advance so we didn't have to struggle reading japanese menus. there is nothing to complain about except that our room had remains of cigarette smell. we stayed at 4 hotels in kyoto. hyatt regency, hoshinoya and hotel granvia kyoto. kyoto brighton is the best value for money! Hotel Resol Kyoto Kawaramachi Sanjo
Kawaramachi,Kyoto - View on map
"Our 2nd time in Kyoto. Glad to have found this hotel. "Living Lobby", a perfect place for a cup of coffee and creative work. Near to 2 different train stations, three 7-11 outlets with postcard printing machine, 4 different bus stops and countless bars, cafes and restaurants. Walking distance to 祇園 Gion and next to 先斗町 Ponto-chō. Baggage storage meanwhile waiting for the check-in and also check-out. The amazing team of staffs are friendly and very helpful. Our little boy has been feeling under the weather on the 4th day, the staff recommended a clinic nearby. Also during check-out, a taxi has been reserved a day earlier by the reception staff and was informed it would cost around ¥1500 to Kyoto Station. Taxi arrived on-time. Really hassle free, saved us a lot of time too and the cost exactly as been told earlier. For visitors, do consider to grab a taxi from/to Kyoto Station. We would surely return again. "

"I knew this was a nice hotel but the service and amenities were above and beyond. You have snacks all time, free wine during happy hour, a beautiful onsen with quality cleansing products. The hotel was super central, minutes away from Nishiki Market (good stop for breakfast) and walkable to Gion. The staff were super friendly. Everything was super clean and everything that was provided was amazing quality. This is now my go-to hotel in Kyoto! "
