I love the Lauterbrunnen valley and have now spent three holidays there. If you like the great outdoors and need to access it quickly in Europe, this is the place! Also wonderful for skiing.
it is a warm cosy area where a lot of group travelling there to several mountains for skiing. There is a supermarket, coop nearby the railway station which is convenience to get groceries.
Do visit the valley waterfalls around the area. Do note that you will need to pay 11 franks for the entrance to the trummelbach falls which is worth it.
The other waterfall is free. The water from the fountains are really fresh and is drinkable. Family friendly for hiking and exploring this area.
Lauterbrunnen is a friendly place with many friendly people in the restaurants, cafes, sightseeing destinations, train stations.
It left us with a very good impression. We've met nice tourist in that area. It is also a convenient and easy spot for tourist to catch the connecting trains in between destinations to destinations. Scenery was marvelous! Could literally stay out in the open and gaze at the beautiful sight all day long! I love this place! Would definitely be back!
There's a wispy waterfall where you can climb up. You can also do some activities like paragliding or skydiving.
Very small, quiet place - we only stayed there to be close to transport to all the sightseeing we wanted to do.
