Where to stay in Linz
Linz hotels & accommodations

The second time I have stayed here. I come for conferences in Archaeology which are held in the city centre so it is good to be able to walk from the hotel to the venues. So all I need is a room and breakfast, and for that it is fine. This time I came by car - some problems getting to the hotel as there was a crowd, a coach and police, but found out it was the Ivory...

Room and ensuite were very modern even though the building itself is very old. Unfortunately due to it being such an old building there were lots of stairs to negotiate in order to get to the room which could be difficult for someone with limited mobility. We also thought it unusual not to have any tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Breakfast, which is included ...

The reception is only open until 7pm and I arrived at 8:30pm, so I had to call the owner's handphone (number written on the entrance) to get the code to enter the hotel. The hotel has no lift. Luckily I travelled light. There is a wash-basin in my room, and a shared toilet on every floor. (I think I only saw 1 shower room in the whole building.) The hotel is a 5 to 10...

It's not walking distance from main station but just take bus #45 or #46 no need to transfer, also bus stop is in front of the hotel!! Breakfast is much better than I expected. It's not only cold buffet but also hot buffet!! Most of staff was so nice except 1 who checked in me.

Great for a stopover, a more traditional hotel than the bigger chains. Breakfast was good & the rooms basic but clean. Two major selling points. One, the wonderfully welcoming dog. Aka the Black Sherriff! Two, the just as wonderfully welcoming man on reception/breakfast. You will be hard pressed to find a friendlier person in any hotel you ever visit. The embodiment of...

Although the other ibis was closer to the centre, the 15 minutes tram journey (€4 day ticket - €13,20 weekticket) gets you to down town Linz in no time. Going out gives you a little rest, the noise of traffic isn't too bad and sounds more like a sea breeze but with a nice outside view you feel a bit out of town once you go back into the hotel. It has modern facilities ...
