"From my arrival, which happened to be opening day for The Hat, Madrid, through the entire month that I booked, I experienced nothing short of a staff dedicated to ensuring that all guests and friends felt welcomed and happy during their stay. The facilities are absolutely stunning - simple, clean, chic - and the indoor/outdoor atmosphere that has been created is something special. If I had a question about what to eat for the night, it wasn’t rare to have someone from the staff willing to walk me out down the street toward their recommended restaurants. By the way, the location is perfect - between SOL and La Latina metros (about a 4 minute walk each way) you could be anywhere in the city on public transport from door to door within 25 minutes. I will be back in Madrid next summer for another month and plan to book my stay at The Hat for the duration again... I consider myself a seasoned traveler and this is the best hostel I have ever stayed!"

"My family and I stayed here for 4 nights, 5 days. We got a private room for 4 -- it was the best stay ever! I can't stress enough how perfect our stay here was. 1. Location -- close to the metro, right in the heart of madrid near all popular landmarks and more importantly, the train station, and a bike stand if you're into that 2. Room quality -- cleaned daily and very spacious 3. Customer service -- they printed some tickets I booked online, with a smile on their face. Then, with those same tickets, I realized I made a typo, so I called Alsa, the bus company, but the menu and the voice was in Spanish, so I asked the receptionist to make the call for me, and again, all done with a smile on their face, very happy to help me. If I ever have the fortune of going to Madrid again, or anywhere in Spain with one of their branches, I would definitely stay with TOC, without a shadow of a doubt. Absolutely!"

"I would say that Travelodge Torrelaguna is close to the airport. Taxi fares vary. We arrived at noon, and I paid 27 euros from the airport to get there; and 23 euros from here to get to the airport. The receptionists Beatriz and Angel are very nice and helpful. I was allowed an early check in free of charge. I suggest that you contact the hotel directly or through Agoda to confirm if there are changes in their policy. I agree with the others that the mattresses are comfortable. I would say that this is one of the best affordable accommodation that you can find in Madrid. I'm planning to stay here again if I happen to visit Madrid in the future. There is a bus station right outside that takes you to the city center. It can take approximately 20 minutes, but it's all right because, as a tourist, I also love to explore places outside the city center. And I enjoyed the bus trip each time. Besides, it's very hard to find the same accommodation in the city center with the same price. "
