Best hotels & accommodations in Madrid

I highly recommend the Principal Madrid Hotel. The location is exceptional. The hotel is in a central location, only a 10-20 minute easy walk to everything! If walking isnt for you, public transportation as well as ride share services are easily accessable. The staff is outstanding. Very available and accomodating. The roof top bar is beautiful as is the lounge/c...

We stayed at this hotel because of the access to public transit, and the free hotel van to downtown Madrid, and the airport. What we did not expect is the architectural features of the hotel It's rather like an art museum, with different themes on different floors. While the rooms themselves are lovely, with wifi an "interesting" bathtub (on the "Star Wars" floor) it i...

We stayed at the Dear Hotel in Madrid during our honeymoon in February. One of the most striking things about the hotel is it's excellent location on the Gran Vie. With the metro station right in front of the gate connectivity is not a problem at all. Moreover the rooms were excellent and they were thoughtful enough to put a little "happy honeymoon" message. The restau...

The hotel is great value for money. A trouble free stay in a well managed hotel. The staff are excellent and very helpful. The room was average in size but ample. The level of cleanliness is top class. Strongly recommend this hotel for a city break in madrid, it's ideal.

our travel agent searched for hours/days for the best hotel in madrid based on our budget and we were very happy with the nh nacional hotel. the location was perfect, a short walk from the rail station and our arrival train into madrid, and the surrounding streets and plazas were crowded with people, shops, rastaurants and bars. the rooms are not large but more than ad...

My family and I stayed here for 4 nights, 5 days. We got a private room for 4 -- it was the best stay ever! I can't stress enough how perfect our stay here was. 1. Location -- close to the metro, right in the heart of madrid near all popular landmarks and more importantly, the train station, and a bike stand if you're into that 2. Room quality -- cleaned daily and ver...

Travelling from Australia to the Canary Islands we decided to overnight in Madrid to see a performance of The Lion King. We therefore needed an hotel close to the Gran Via at a reasonable price and selected the Hotel Quatro Puerta del Sol based on its Agoda reviews. We were not disappointed - the hotel is ideally placed to visit Madrid, is clean and the staff very he...

We stayed in Espahotel Plaza de Espana for two nights which was a very old run down hotel but the room was very spacious with a small kitchen; might be good for family stay. The location was very good which was close to the city centre and Royal Palace of Madrid; only about five minutes’ walk to the Royal Palace of Madrid. There was no free parking provided; you need...

Not sure about other NH collection hotels, but Madrid Palace de Tepa is definitely worth your money. The customer service is amazing and wonderful hotel with excellent location. Walking distance to many shops, eateries and tourist attractions. Really the best hotel we've stayed in Spain.

Location: Great. Note that Gran Via metro station is under renovation. However, Sol metro station (which is just a stop before Gran Via on the blue line from the Atocha train station) is only a 3 to 5 mins’ walk away. Sol metro station is where the Sol Square (Puerta del Sol) is. Hotel is walking distance to most of the tourist attractions. There are many restaurants ...

This is the only hotel I know in Madrid. Whenever I go to Madrid, I stay there. It is very convenient for me because the metro and the train station are there. You can go to the airport by metro and it takes only 30/40 minutes. Also, if you travel to the rest of Spain (Avila, Salamanca), the train is also there, forget the hassle to find a taxi or a bus, or carry your...

i have stay urban hotel for two nights and i am surprised by their excellent service. first of all, it is very close to puerta del sol, plaza de espana, palacio real, catedral de ntra. sra. de la almudena....so many many tourist points which you can go by walk...secondly, their service are simply excellent! very helpful. i have lost my room key at first night outside ...

The hotel is conveniently located in central Madrid, in Huertas, between the Royal Palace and Plaza Mayor in one direction and the Prado Museum in the other. The area immediately around the hotel is a bit run down but a couple of blocks in either direction takes you to the restaurant/bar area of Los Latinas or towards several squares such as Plaza Mayor and Plaza del ...

This is definitely a hotel I would recommend to anyone visiting Madrid. The room may not be huge but it is comfortable, extremely well kept, clean and well equipped. There are sufficient pillows and cushions unlike some other hotels. The service staff is very friendly, helpful and accommodating. I was supposed to check out after three nights' stay but I extende...

An excellent place to stay in Madrid. We stayed here 4 days after 3 days at a hotel in city centre and much preferred this location to the grime and noise of the city centre. Exceptional value - Staff were especially helpful and friendly and spoke very good English - large shopping mall and Carrefour hypermarket (09.00-22.00 7 days a week) within easy walking distance;...

the location of this hotel was perfect. it's across the street from the prado. the room was clean and nice with modern amenities. but what really stood out to us was the staff. our luggage was lost at the airport and javier at the front desk was so extremely helpful making phone calls to help us track down our bag. it eventually was found and delivered to our room ...

I had stayed at this hotel last summer for approximately a week and I was delighted to find out that it has kept the same standards of excellence. The hotel s strategically located in a very quiet neighborhood, away fro the bustling downtown but close enough to all facilities - metro, restaurants, convenience stores, etc. The service was impeccable at all levels, from ...

the hotel is very close to bus stops and the metro. 15 min drive by taxi from the airport. the staff was really proficient in english which helped us a lot as we do not speak spanish at all. the room was beautiful - wooden floors, huge king size bed and the bathroom was really nice - we felt like vip's. the pricing of the restaurant was affordable and the food deliciou...

We stayed at the Hotel Villa Real for three nights in October and we must say it was a very relaxing and wonderful stay. The hotel is very central to all sights but at the same time located in a quieter area of Madrid. It has five star facilities with restaurant, gym, bar (both public and private) as well as a small seating area outside on the Plaza. There is an opt...

Our first ever stay at a Melia hotel was last year in Barcelona. We selected our hotel in Madrid based on that great experience and were not disappointed. Same level of comfort, hospitality, and service. We can't say enough about the enthusiastic staff. Outside room (supreme) was bright, clean, and modern.

The best hotel team ever. They made our stay feel like home. Gunther, who checked us in, was informative, professional, kind and you can tell he cares. The bell team was very eager in helping us. The concierge are truly knowledgable. You can tell that they truly genuinely care. I sincerely applaud Barcelo Torre de Madrid team. Flawless service. Will go back if in Madri...

5-star location : 1. 5-minute walking distance to Metro Ópera (Line 2, 5, Line R) 2. 7-minute walking distance to Metro Tirso de Molina (Line 1, 3 stops to Atocha Renfe) 3. 6-minute walking distance to Metro La Latina (Line 5) 4. 7-minute walking distance to Royal Palace of Madrid 5. 2-minute walking distance to the restaurant Sobrino de Botín 6...

This hotel made my first visit to Madrid very enjoyable. The bed is super comfortable for a good night sleep. The bus stop is just a short walk from the hotel where you can take 2 direct buses to Sol, the Madrid city centre. Very very convenient. I would highly recommend this hotel to first time visitors!

Typical Novotel quality and service. Hotel is relatively new inside and quite spacious. Location is not right in the middle of Madrid, so there's a bit of a commute to get to the sights, but on the other hand it's quiet at night and literally 100m from the first stop of the export express bus. There are several subway stations nearby (try using Goya for quick access to...

I have to admit that from probably over 300 hotels I have been around the world, the Eurostars Madrid Tower Hotel was one of the most impresive Hotel Rooms I have ever been at. Warmed WC floor, Super Dimmer lights, Huge 2,2m x 2,4m Super Kingsize Bed, Enormous Toilet and Fully Loaded with Free In-Room amenities, this is surely for me a returning Hotel whenever I will ...
Cheapest hotels in Madrid

Location is central, near to 3 metro stations: nearest is santo domingo but no escalators/lift, second is callao station which is 2nd nearest with lift, third is plaza de espana. The best is callao station if you are carrying your luggage to and from atocha renfe train station. you can use Santo domingo station for your sightseeing startoff journey. Located very near t...

I travelled with a friend. Our twin room was spacious and very comfortable and the hostel is clean and welcoming and the location is absolutely perfect. The staff is lovely and went out of their way to assist and accommodate us. I would definitely recommend this hostel to everyone, and should I ever visit Madrid again I would stay nowhere else!

I could walk to Puerta del Sol and Gran Via. Easy to reach from/to airport. I stayed in a female dorm with 4 beds and there's an ensuite bathroom and a locker. The room is clean. However, I can hear the noise from the restaurant along the night. Overall, It is a great hostel. I will stay there again if I visit Madrid.

Las Musas is a great place to stay, very near to the centre of Madrid, just a few minutes walking you can find many turistic places. Also, they are very connected with the other hostels of the zone, it has many suppliers who provided tours around there, si the best is that you can mix with travelers from the other Hostels. I took two tours, one at night (pub crawl) and...

I booked first a double room in calle vega de la ventura but when I arribed they told me that they changed my reservation to the other hostel in chueca neighbourhood. They said that they had sent a mail but I didn’t see it because of the trip. I was very angry of the poor organization. But then the nice decoration, the big size of the room and very clean individual b...

- Clean hostel, not too far from metro (opera) by feet, front is nice decorated. It is very close to the Madrid Palace just behind the hostel - Shower and toilet is always keep clean - Big kitchen - Many shower and toilet room which seperately in each floor for your choice (Men/Women are seperatw) - Always has a big groups of tour/people and make some noise but the ...

I was doing in my erasmus in spain. And so i travelled yo madrid a lot. Mad4you is my first choice, nice environemnt, helpful recetion. I forgot my wallet in my bed on my forst stay and they called me right after i left before i realized i lost it! Really appreciate that.

My stay was astounding. By far one of the BEST hostels in Europe! If you stay at U HOSTELS MADRID--expect 5-star treatment, great facilities, CAFE on-site for breakfast, special dishes like PAELLA on weekends, pub crawls every night. Hostel has a common area with Cinema Room/TV, free computers on most levels, including the common area, mini-kitchen with basic ameniti...

Location can just walk to most places, cheap supermarket nearby, good lockers my 45 litre bag fitted plus another bag. No street noise if window/balcony door is shut, rooms cool with air conditioning. Any Southern European hostel breakfast I’ve had has been no good, but depends on your taste.

From my arrival, which happened to be opening day for The Hat, Madrid, through the entire month that I booked, I experienced nothing short of a staff dedicated to ensuring that all guests and friends felt welcomed and happy during their stay. The facilities are absolutely stunning - simple, clean, chic - and the indoor/outdoor atmosphere that has been created is someth...

Hostal dela casa is located in the heart of the Madrid, close to all city's attractions and sights. There are a lot of nightclubs, bars and restaurants in the neighborhood, although you might regret this due to the noise of the trowing bottles in the trash can after night shift and constant smell of the food. Hostal is very cheap, clean and spacious. I recommend it to ...

Hostal Abaaly is located in the city centre, next to the central city square - Plaza Mayor, and walking distance to all tourist attractions: Opera, Palazo Real, Plaza de Sol... Very good (maybe the best) value for money in Madrid. That was my second time in the hostal Abaaly, and I would come back whenever I visit Madrid.

Check in and out was a breeze. Reached about 10am and room was ready. 5 mins walk to sol station, callao, gran via metro. Primark, zara, shopping district is just behind the hotel. Macdonalds , kfc, burger king nearby. Room was spacious but the double bed is abit small. Main door still using manual keys. The toilet door and wardrobe are old, probably time to change ...

Generator Madrid has a great location. It’s beside Gran Via, the shopping district. It’s a 2 minute walk to the metro. And it’s a 10-20 minute walk to the usual tourist spots. The staff were nice and accommodating. The rooms were clean. Maybe I just wasn’t aware but I wish there was a common bath area as I had a hard time freshening up at night without waking up my roo...

The best hostel I,ve ever been in Madrid! And I,ve been so many times. Super clean, excellent location, very quite, super comfortable, nice decoration and very kind and dedicated staff. I booked a double room. There were a small fridge, microwaves, a Kettle with tea and sugar. Air conditioner, TV. The room was spacious with a big covert. The mattress very comfortable. ...

The hostel block is easy to find, literraly 2mins walking distance from the metro stop. But you have to take the lift up to the 7th floor and look for the door that has the sign saying "Muchomadrid" .. We were given a room looking out to Gran Via from this 7th floor so it was terrific. Room was clean and spacious. Couldnt complain about the breakfast. The staff was...

The location was ideal, just a few minutes' walk from Sol but it wasn't noisy. There are many bars and restaurants nearby. The room was warm and comfortable and had all the necessary amenities ( except there was no bath mat and none of the side lights worked). Staff were helpful. Highly recommended if you are looking for somewhere central and inexpensive.

If you want to stay close to the center of Madrid and all of the major sites/attractions, this is the best location and hotel for the money. The hotel looks questionable from the outside but once you are in, the rooms are nice, modern and clean, the windows are double-pane (which really helps since the hotel faces a busy square) and the staff is attentive (although som...

Perfect location. Located in the city centre, La Rambla. 5 min on foot to the Saint Joseph market where much good food there. 15 min on foot to the aerobus in Catalonia plaza. Breakfast is full of jamon and sausage. Breakfast is relatively better than many Spanish bar.

Sick of hostels after a while so decided to go get my own place for a bit of quiet. The place is an old character building, with creaking staircase up 4 floors and old fixtures, perfect for me, I love these old places. Made me feel like I had my own apartment and was living in Madrid for a couple of days. The housekeeper speaks only Spanish but she was very amicable, s...

I have stayed at 5 different places in both Madrid and Barcelona. This is the only hostal I have stayed in as I just want to try it out. To be honest, it is even better than some of the hotels I have stayed! Great rooms with tv and nice bathroom facilities. Comfy beds and strong wifi. Even has computers for u to book your day trips. Little brochures to help u plan your...
4-star hotels in Madrid

Pros 1) perfect location, subway entrance just next to hotel front door; major scenic spots, restaurants and shops are nearby 2) Great, fresh breakfast with 360 wonderful view of Madrid on roof top 3) Fancy designed room with all you needs and comfortable to take rest Cons 1) my room faces construction and redecoration building so I can't open window while the heat is...

I arrived in Madrid at 9:30 PM and had an early morning flight at 7. Because time was 'key' I choose to stay here. I was VERY IMPRESSED! Super easy to walk to on the bottom floor of Terminal 4. Very friendly and helpful staff who gave e me several suggestions for restaurants. The room has a very comfortable queen bed, TV, and very modern bathroom with any excellent sh...

The hotel location is wonderfully situated so it is easily to grab a taxi or walk to everywhere. Even though we are in the middle of Gran Via, nothing could be heard the whole day if we close the windows. I don’t even realised it was raining one night. Staff there greets you with a smile but there should be more staff in the breakfast area. We have to pour coffee on ou...

Always pleasant, i've stayed at a few Rezidor Hotels, Park Plaza Westminster in London, Radisson Blu Gautrain Hotel in Johannesburg, South Africa also at The Radisson Blu Edwardian Berkshire Hotel, London, Park Inn by Radisson Cape Town Foreshore in South Africa and now recently in Madrid and I must say all the hotels in the group i have stayed at are out of this world...

The hotel is next to Atocha Metro and within 10 minutes's walking distance from the Atocha train station, where you can find connections to different cities of Spain. It is also close to several major museums in Madrid. Hotel room is small, but nicely decorated. the staff are fluent in English and helpful. however, the hotel charges clients for internet access.

The staff were helpful and friendly. The whole hotel was very clean. The beds were extremely comfortable and the location is perfect for exploring the centre of Madrid. It was more expensive than I usually pay for staying there but it really was worth the extra money.

I was staying at TRYP Madrid Cibeles Hotel just for one night in order to recover from traveling for 12 hours before getting settled in to Madrid. The Hotel was perfect for my intentions - a comfortable, quiet room in the middle of the city offered me the needed rest. The staff was very friendly and helpful and didn't mind me leaving my luggage there until the afternoo...

The hotel is perfect for transit passengers, like us. The staff on duty at the hotel, when we arrived at the airport in Madrid was very responsive and helpful. The only complaint we have wrt this stay is that I mistakenly first booked for the 28th of July and then realised that we would be on our flight from Santiago, Chile, Agoda did not emphatize with my me and so...

This is our all time favorite hotel in Madrid. The location is outstanding, so too the service of the staff in Anthony, Ana and David whose energy, enthusiasm and passion for customer service will ensure you love every moment. Thank you for room 413, with corner balconies over two streets we were delighted with the views. We will be back😀

We stayed at the Vincci Capitol as we had one day/night in Madrid in transit before heading to London. Was very relieved to find that the hotel was in an easily accessible location near the centre of Madrid. At first glance, you could almost miss the entrance because it was part of a theatre building and the hotel entrance is covered by darkened glass. We were deli...

It is value for money if you could secure promotion room rate at last minutes. It is easily accessible by Metro from airport, and is convenient to the city centre by public transport - the bus stop is right next to the hotel. It is a real 4-star rating hotel. The food in the hotel restaurant is excellent at areasobable price.

The hotel was in a great location and 10 minutes walk a way from the city centre. The room was a good size and very clean. The restuartant also nice and provide reasonable value for money. There is also a few shops and restaurants 2 minutes away from the hotel which is very convienant if you dont want to venture out in to the city. All in all a good hotel and I wou...

In 3 weeks traveling through Spain this was my favorite Hotel. The staff were friendly and informative, fast service and a real sense of generosity about this property. Very quiet rooms even though we were on the main agran Via Road. Free coffee while waiting for check in substantial breakfast served until 2 pm. I would have loved if it had a small gym and pool however...

this was a great choice for someone flying out the next day to another spain destination, so good location to get into the city for the day and get to the airport the next day. the room was lovely and particularly the bathroom is very nice - big and with a bath. the bed was a bit hard because i prefer a softer matress, but the room was quiet and i got a good rest. the ...

We really enjoyed our stay at the Catalonia. With so many hotels in Madrid it was hard to choose. But the biggest selling points for us were the central location and the reasonable price. We were very pleased and would certainly stay there again. It is just a two minute walk to the Gran Via Metro stop, and only a few minutes to Sol, and a few of the other stops as wel...

Great location, clean, friendly staff, lovely building, comfortable and quiet rooms, substantial breakfast selections, next door to underground parking and an absolutely wonderful Italian restaurant which is highly recommended. Our “go to” hotel in Madrid.

I have stayed in a few hotels in Madrid, but this is by far the best. Do not waste your time looking elsewhere. Preciados is located in the center of the city on a relatively quiet pedestrian road so that there is not much noise at night, but you are still only a stone's throw away from all the action.

I have been trying to find the ideal hotel in Madrid for some time. This is not it. While the discounted rate from Agoda for this hotel was attractive, I am afraid that the combination of tiled corridors, wooden floors and inadequate soundproofing just did not allow a good night's sleep, even though there was no outside noise and the room itself was adequate.

this stylish hotel has a days gone by architecture which fits perfectly in the neigghbourhood it is located in. we only needed one night overstay in madrid and choose this one as it is just around the corner of gran via. it allowed us to walk around a see some of central madrid. also the gran plaza is in walking distance and some major musea. buffet breakfast is suff...

The hotel was pleasant, tucked away in a quiet side street in the high-end shopping part of town (Gucci was just round the corner). Very neat and tidy, it provided a very positive experience of Madrid, away from the masses of tourists. Metro was a bit of a hike.

We stayed here for 3 nights with our two sons, was a triple special birthday celebration... Staff were very friendly and helpful and nothing was any trouble for them..especially Macarena and all staff at reception. (this is the only name I can remember). We stayed on a room only basis, the rooms and bathrooms were modern and kept very clean.. Hairdryer was good,I norm...

We were very comfortable during our stay in Hesperia Madrid Hotel. Bed & pillows are very comfortable. Check-in and check out was a breeze. They even let us to check-in early. It's just a bit of a distance from the shopping area (Gran Via). Prepare to spend around EUR 8-10 if taking a cab to the center. There's always someone at the lobby door to help you out if you...

This hotel is new, with a pool, sauna and gym. It is located 5mins walk from Charmatin Renfe station and metro. It is in a quiet peaceful area, we feel safe walking at night. Renfe takes about 10mins to Madrid Atocha for long distance trains to the south of Spain, very convenient for 1.70 euro a ride. Trains to the north of Spain depart from Charmatin itself. Roo...

it was fantastic! it is steps away from high end part of Madrid with lots of restaurants and shops around. the staff is very helpful and friendly, the massage service in the hotel is a must try, not to mention the martini bar! it was just great, would recommned anyone to stay at this hotel when visiting Madrid.

We booked this hotel for our anniversary (premium city view room) and requested a king sized bed. Unfortunately when we arrived, we were put into a room with two individual beds and the view is just of the building across the street as it doesn’t sit on a high enough floor. We were then kindly moved to a room with one bed, but as it was on the 2nd floor so the view was...

check in hotel and got upgrade to suite. my baggages were short shipped by Iberia airline, hotel staffs are really patient to check my baggages and give their best to assist us. they know we feel hunger and tired which they deliver some fruits to our rooms for us . we strongly agreed that they have good customer services. room is nice and clean, the mini bar is so ni...

I had a nice stay at the intercontinental. The staff have good attention detail, and do anything they can to keep you happy. The rooms are luxurious, with elimis products in the bathrooms. It's in the upmarket area of madrid and only a short cab ride away from all the sights.

Apartment was in a great spot, easily accessible to the center of Madrid, but not too touristic or noisy to hamper our stay. On the downside, there was a leak in the bathroom and a broken handle on the bathroom door. Neither of these were fixed either before or during our stay. Apartment also lacks a few things like a chopping board and a sharp knife in the kitchen ...

Not only myself but the rest of my family had a wonderful stay at the apartment. Internally all the facilities were good apart from the main bathroom door handle needing to be replaced, shower door not closing properly where water would escape onto the floor, needing to be moped up and apart from this everything else was lovely. Location was perfect, close to the Royal...

i thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this boutique hotel. the room was delightful with a quirky shape. it was easy to walk to the most popular tourist attractions. the staff was quite helpful, eager to please. for example, i asked many questions regarding sites to see, best times to visit, etc. all were answered clearly and with helpful tidbits. they provided an extre...

We really enjoyed our stay, the location was fantastic, conveniently located next to one of the best parks in Madrid Retiro Park (Parque del Retiro) and within a stones throw of the local metro line. The attached restaurant Senzone was also great, we had a lovely and competitively priced meal, much better than the neighbouring bar/restaurant (Ramses) where the foo...

We were looking for a comfortable spacious hotel for our group vacation and found the Eurostars at Mirasierra to be actually much more beautiful than we expected. The beds were really comfortable and we really enjoyed to have a bath-tub and full mini-bar. One thing was a bit disappointing, as we had specifically looked for a hotel with wellness facilities and realised ...

Great little apartment within easy walking distance to all major attractions. With 2 supermarkets downstairs, ideal when you want to cook yourself. The bed was good, so was the couchbed. Overall perfect for the price. Anything needs fixing, the agent is quick to respond.
Traveler impressions of Madrid
Madrid is a very architectural city which is rich in history and culture. I Loved the way they kept the city, especially the old and high-tech have been combined to give a feel good scenerio.
It's a small city and can be covered in about 3 days, if like to travel out of the city centre, there are a few good options as well.
Do not underestimate the powerful combo of outstanding museums and cultural events with a super happening night life and gastronomic choices.
I need to go back. We went when a lot of chefs are on vacation, which was a pain as its so well known!
Madriad is at the center of Spain for trains and flights. There are many interesting activities within the city before taking side trips to South Spain and other cities.
Many great restaurants in the city center and adjacent neighborhoods. If you are in the city center, be sure to visit Mercado San Miguel for amazing food -- many food stalls with tapas, wine, bakeries, fresh food.
We took the hop on hop off city bus tour which gave us a fantastic overview of the city. The Prado Museum was incredible, a must see.
The city is beautiful but it's too crowded and there are too many street sellers who are rеally annoying.
People are kind and the atmosphere is very relax as they have a very long day to walk around the city.
Madrid is a nice city with friendly people. I would recommend staying on along weekend versus spending more than 3 days.
Madrid is a very charming city , you can enjoy a plenty of activity here. There is always people walking around never stop city.
I love this city. I lived there for a while in 2004. Nice to visit again, but with a little more money to enjoy the great food!
I cannot be neutral since I am Spanish but don't miss the chance to come and see how wonderful Madrid had developed in last 10 years (amazing capital nowadays)
Very good city. Loved the people and the fact that everyone was constantly happy. Taxi drivers could how ever be a little less agressive to make it even better.
Madrid is amazing. If you havent been there, do visit. It is a must. So much of history, arts, dining, nightlife.
Madrid is a wonderful place with lot of natural scenaries, buzzling crowd, lively streets with people around, restatuarnt on the side of the roads.
It is a thriving city with great architecture and culture. It seems to be developing from a conservative to a more progressive area.
I thought Madrid was beautiful , funky , hip , exciting , historically interesting , architecturally stunning .
It is a charming city with a lot od place to be visited. You can find every type of visit in Madrid so plan your day and determine your own route.
It is a chaminmg city to be visited. You need to be carefull for the pick-pocket when you take a walk.
It is an charmming city , people are friendly . You may need to be carefull about pick pocket when you walk along the street.
Spanish are very enthusiastic and welcome you with heart, so be the same as well. And there are a lot of places you can go in MAdrid, make sure you enjoy all your shopping, dining and drinking time there !!!
The Royal Palace is what a Palace should look like. Imposing and interesting, definitely worth a visit.
It is a really beautiful city. well planned and beyond expectation. It amazing how one designer could make such a change.
I suppose the main cultural attraction is the Prado Museum, including the very old churches around the city center.
Many guidebooks suggest brief stays in Madrid. We were here for a week, and did not tire of the city.
We took the city tour of Madrid and it brought us to many interesting places. The hop on hop off bus city tour was very convenient and cheap.
The attractions in Madrid city are nice, but the number of attractions are not as much as Barcelona. So you should include some famous attractions nearby, such as the Segovia that is 92 km north of Madrid, or Toledo that is 70km south.
Very dirty and unfriendly city, be careful of pick pocket, they are every where, in the buses, streets, busy metro and also stadium, so be careful, will avoid this city.
Madrid has so many old and big buildings. Nice to see this city as different from other European city.
Madrid's best hotels with breakfast

I arrived in Madrid at 9:30 PM and had an early morning flight at 7. Because time was 'key' I choose to stay here. I was VERY IMPRESSED! Super easy to walk to on the bottom floor of Terminal 4. Very friendly and helpful staff who gave e me several suggestions for restaurants. The room has a very comfortable queen bed, TV, and very modern bathroom with any excellent sh...

Great location, clean, friendly staff, lovely building, comfortable and quiet rooms, substantial breakfast selections, next door to underground parking and an absolutely wonderful Italian restaurant which is highly recommended. Our “go to” hotel in Madrid.

The NH Barajas Hotel is located conveniently close to the Madrid airport. The hotel is clean and simple. Internet access needs to be paid in the room but is free in the reception area. If you have a room in the main tower (lower floors) you might still use the free internet of the reception area. No dinner, but there is a nice local restaurant around the corner. Breakf...

Nice hotel, well placed, just far enough away to make it a bit of an adventure to reach the city center. Great themes and decor, 80's-90's retro arcade games were a brilliant throw back. Good vibe, great bar, amazing breakfast, rooms were nicely styled to give a boutique feel. Would defo recommend and if in Madrid, would certainly stay again. Thank you NYX & staff...

We had a good weekend visit at this hotel. All went well: the bed was comfortable, shower was good, room space and furnishings are adequate. We had a few minor problems. First, our room smelled of cigarette smoke that had been partially cleaned, but some residue persisted. Second, the hotel is located in a safe, but rather boring part of Madrid, not much to see wi...

my husband and i stayed here for two nights in november 2012. while it was a bit small, we were very happy with the cleanliness of the room, and we had everything we needed. best of all was the location at santo domingo plaza. we literally walked everywhere in old madrid during our stay and didn't need any other transport except to and from the airport. perfect for bud...

The hotel is great value for money. A trouble free stay in a well managed hotel. The staff are excellent and very helpful. The room was average in size but ample. The level of cleanliness is top class. Strongly recommend this hotel for a city break in madrid, it's ideal.

I needed a good hotel close to the Madrid airport so I could easily catch an early flight. This place was perfect. The shuttle service was excellent. Facilities clean and professionally run. Room was quiet, clean, comfortable. Staff were very helpful. The bed was excellent. Breakfast (10 euros) was very good and convenient. All together, and excellent stopover. On...

2 nights spent at the hotel for a week-end to discover Madrid. The location of the hotel is perfect, you can go anywhere in town center by walk, everything is within 10min walk ! The staff was very friendly, they spoke several languages very well at the front desk (at least English and French), and nicely provided map and advices. They easily changed my bookin...

We were deli...

this stylish hotel has a days gone by architecture which fits perfectly in the neigghbourhood it is located in. we only needed one night overstay in madrid and choose this one as it is just around the corner of gran via. it allowed us to walk around a see some of central madrid. also the gran plaza is in walking distance and some major musea. buffet breakfast is suff...

I would say that Travelodge Torrelaguna is close to the airport. Taxi fares vary. We arrived at noon, and I paid 27 euros from the airport to get there; and 23 euros from here to get to the airport. The receptionists Beatriz and Angel are very nice and helpful. I was allowed an early check in free of charge. I suggest that you contact the hotel directly or through Ag...

I was traveling with my sister, when we arrived our rooms were not ready, which was fine as it was early. The issue was they had also messed up the reservation, I had booked two rooms with patios but they only had a reservation for 1 room periods. Luckily the rooms were pre-paid so they could clearly see what I had purchased. The staff was accommodating and was able...

This hotel provided a good level of service and comfort in a nice quiet location. There is a metro station at the end of the street for easy access to any madrid location. Refrigerator and safe in room with toiletries also provided. Room could have been soundproofed better as you can hear every person walking by room door or the cleaners in the hallway. View of interna...

we were on our 16 days trip to all over spain and spent our last 3 nights at this hotel. we booked a standard room but somehow was given a suite which is a nice surprise. the room was superclean and the room service was great. there is a local train just across the street. parking is available on site for free. there is also a supermarket just few meters from the hotel...

Very comfortable hotel. Starting with friendly personel behind the desk, cleaning room was perfect every day, we experienced this hotel as very pleasant. We had no breakfast included, but, comming from inside the hotel, just going to the left you'll find the cheaper possibilities for a fast breakfast. Or, downstaires in the hotel , just walk through the glass doors t...

The location creates easy access to all suburban and outlying areas East, North and South of Madrid. The hotel is 1 block from jor Metro line that takes you into Madrid proper. The modern design of the rooms is refreshing - not your cookie-cutter hotels. The hardwood floors are a nice feature but increase the noise level significantly from the rooms above and on eit...

our travel agent searched for hours/days for the best hotel in madrid based on our budget and we were very happy with the nh nacional hotel. the location was perfect, a short walk from the rail station and our arrival train into madrid, and the surrounding streets and plazas were crowded with people, shops, rastaurants and bars. the rooms are not large but more than ad...
