"Not sure if it’s a new owner or just a couple new staff, but this place is amazing! They have redone half of the entire resort so far and the bed’s are the comfiest we’ve had in all of northern Thailand so far. Fresh paint, super clean rooms, and the pool is full and perfect for swimming and lounging by in the sun. Right off the river and only a minute walk into town. Plus it includes free breakfast (which was fresh fruit, salad, and omelettes). As soon as we walked in to check in, we were greeted with bottled water and they even carried our immensely heavy backpacks into our room for us. Will definitely stay here again next time we come through!"

"Excellent staff was extremely helpful with everything we needed. The pool was great for cooling of on a hot day. The bed was comfortable and the A/C worked great. Hot water shower. It was a short walk to great local restaurants on the main road. There is a scooter rental next door that has bikes for 350 Baht. A bit on the high side but they were newer and had plenty of power for 2 people to day trip around the steep mountains to see the hill tribe people. I know I already said it but the English speaking staff there was excellent. "

"It does not have 24 on-site reception (i.e. is more of an apartment than a hotel), but otherwise was fine. Possibly the newest accomodation in Tha Ton. I would suggest maybe screen the bathroom vent as I did notice a mosquito once. "

"I love the peacefulness of the small town, a nice ride up the river near to Myanmar border and scenic view from the mountain. Got a room near the river with nice balcony. Love the room. Staff are friendly. My kid's school was there for two nights activities. Will come back to visit Mae Ai and stay here again definitely. Went north a bit to the long neck and other hill tribe. Stopped to have Lao Ta coffee(hill tribe) along the way. It was great!"

"I really enjoyed my stay here! I'm not even sure why, in terms of putting it into words.... but the moment you arrive the staff come out to greet you. They really make an effort to make you feel welcome and I can't think of anywhere I've stayed recently which can compare in this regard. The rooms are really nice. The view is great. The rest is very, very good. The gardens are beautiful and immaculately kept. What else can I say, except. ...I'll be back. I wondered if I was in the wrong place when I read some previous reviews. .... there were 2 packs of single use slippers. ...new! The room was spotless...everything was great so either they have listened and responded (full marks!) or something has changed. .. but for my stay? Couldn't get much better. "

"We had a confirmed booking through Agoda, called ahead on the day of the booking to let them know what time we were arriving. When we arrived the staff were clearly not expecting us, and didn't speak English. After about 20 minutes of people coming and going we established that they hadn't registered the Agoda booking. We asked if the room was available and were shown to a very sad looking room, less beds than we booked, one bed on a strange base about 1.2m high. Apparently there was a problem with the hot water too. We decided to find alternative accommodation. The location on the river was nice, but the buildings were run down and staff unable to manage. "
