Where to stay in Male City and Airport
Male City and Airport hotels & accommodations

Our first time to Maldives & stay here for one night as transit before our flight back to KL on next day morning. Overall, this is small hotel just right in front of the beach. Transport to & from airport is on scheduled basis every half an hour. The food & drinks here is at reasonable price & they can prepare vegetarian meals here. You can walk from hotel to Ferry...

The standard room is small but we have been upgraded to deluxe room for free. However no view from the room unless u go for seaview room. Room is clean and especially the bathroom which is nice and comfortable. Counter lady speaks good english and helpful as she called our next day resort to check the speedboat pick up time for us. The beach and sea is just across the ...

We had a excellent stay at the Vista Beach Retreat. Arrived at Male airport in late evening and hadn't arranged transport, information centre at the airport called the hotel and they came and picked us up at the airport. Arrived at the hotel and were greeted with juice and cold towel. We ordered room service which was very nice. Breakfast is served down stairs also ver...

Staff were very friendly and good service. Room was spotless and very comfortable. Airport shuttle easily organised by hotel. Good for if late/early flight, but if you have more time I think it would be better and more interesting to stay in Male city than on the airport island, as airport ferry to Male is also fast, cheap & convenient.

It's a clean, simple hotel. We stayed here for the night before our seaplane ride to our resort outside Male. We arrived at about 9PM and left 530AM the following day. The staff were very accommodating to attend to us at night and in the morning. Our reservation includes a car transfer from the airport and back. The hotel is also just 10 minutes away from the airport. ...

This hotel offers free transfer to and from airport. Very convenient for travelers who's landing in Velana Airport in evening time. They gave me free up grade to the sea view room, I greatly appreciate that. I could see the beach from my window, nice! The breakfast served only sausage and bread, don't expect varieties of food. But you always can take a walk around nei...

Summary: Convenience, simple and comfortable Reference for our trip schedule: Arrival: 20:30 in Male airport and around 10-15 driving to Oceangrand First day: breakfast> free cycling from hotel; around 40 minutes to the whole island> Taxi to ferry port around 5-10minutes(25 Maldives dollars)> 11:00 ferry to Male> lunch at Male> Male city visiting >...

We booked the Avenue and Spa for one night after we touched down at Male International Airport. Airport pick up was included, which is very convenient, its a ten-minute ride from the airport. The hotel is very new. Upon check in, we had our dinner at the small cafe area, food and service was good. We were watching soccer at the cafe and the service staff was very accom...

Good hotel with the best location in this price range (by the sea, relatively of space, close to the port, close swimming place and sea promenade). Clean and tidy. Next door is a stadium which might be quite noisy, as well the street (like everywhere at Male). Sandy beach and good swimming place is located at the other end of the island (NB No swimming suits allowed o...

We ware spending one night there before continue to one of the Maldives resorts They picked us up from the airport to the hotel... Room was nice ,clean and very comfortable. In the morning we ware surprise getting breakfast included. I would definitely recommend staying there. Great value for money

Comfortable beds, good shower, very good food especially for breakfast. Downside _ communications were always a problem, the checkin at reception is unbelievably long, no one seams to know what is happening. The roomi initaly beeked , a superior was totally different from that advertised in Agoda. Dingy very small and cramped. I paid extra for a delux and as we were s...

My partner(June) and i(Stanley) wanted to take 2 days in a city of Male and it was our first time coming to the Maldives. Were very unsure of how Male city and Hulhumale would work. But would like to take some time to write a review for Ripple Beach Inn. Upon our arrival, we totally forgot about emailing them about needing an airport transfer which resulted in me send...

We spent a night at the Crystal Beach Inn before taking the seaplane to our resorts at Maldives Island, and were very impressed with the 5 stars service received. First of all, we were received at the airport by the hotel staff (we did not expect this as this was our first visit to Maldives) and sent to the hotel when we arrived at the Male airport at night. The hotel ...

We stayed one night at this hotel prior to our sea plan transfer to the island resort the next morning. This hotel is very clean. Good beach front location and close to both airport and ferry terminal to Male city. The staffs are service oriented and made every effort to successfully deliver an item that we forgot at the hotel. Keep up the good work and would ce...

Booked 2 rooms and Stayed 2 nights at this property. Arrived late at night, and the pick up from airport was Seamlessly arranged by the hotel. Rooms was clean and comfortable. On time pickup from airport free transport with friendly staff member to hotel via male ferry. Rooms clean and modern. Daily Americans style breakfast served but have to little bit improve, city in male and all places can reach easy. Friendly staff all and hope to come back when I will visit Maldives

Was staying at Express in for a 2 day trip to Male. Rooms were clean. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Knew a lot about the island of Hulhumale thanks to them. Location is practically perfect. It's right next to the beach. A restaurant is right in front of it. There's a grocery just down the street, which is no more than a minute walk away. The town center is als...

We stayed in Koamas lodge for 1 night after a week long holiday on one of the islands. We were looking for a place close to the airport as our flight was departing at 7am the following morning. We used 6 In 1 for a transfer night. It is only a couple blocks away from the water taxis to other islands. So easy to walk to the water taxis for other islands. When we left we asked if we would be able to store our bags at the hotel for when we returned to Male 6 days later. They were super kind.

Hubby and I arrived at Male at 10pm and was looking for a hotel near airport so that we can transit for the night. Rivethi Beach Boutique proved to be a really good choice! My previous two hotel stay were not very up to standard and before checking into this hotel I was mentally prepared this place may be same as my other two hotel stay. Once we walked into the room we were so surprise that there were 2 king size beds (for 3 adults and 1 kid) and a big TV corner with a very comfortable couch. It was the last day of my trip and we were wai...

it's a budget hotel so expect budget facilities, but the owner was very nice/friendly and it was a perfectly okay/safe place to stay the night if you can't get a flight in during the day and arrange the transfer out to your island straight away. only real issue was the super hard bed and super soft pillows so neck/back was a bit out of joint the next day. but i lived a...

Email them to request for them to fetch us at hulhumale jetty but to no avail so we took a cab there for 30mvr... the apartment was spacious but the cooker, the microwave are only for display... and not enough eating utensils for a apartment with kitchen... the mini fridge there's no drinks... however going hm they provide free transportation to the Airport for free....

flew in late at night. Hotel is not far from airport and do not take the ferry across to Mele like we did. We stayed at this hotel just for transit as we arrived male city at night and we left the next morning, not much to say about this hotel, no double bed, cleanliness is ok, quite near to the jetty, around 10min walk. Across the street from the beach and is a great deal for less than 2,000THB before taxes. Maldives is not cheap. It is an easy walk around the area for different shops and a fair price for the taxi service to the airport. Hotel is near the airport. You can just ride a bus from the airport and go down to the terminal. from the terminal you can walk to the hotel, around 5mins. the room was clean when we checked in, the bed is so comfy, I got a really good rest. Breakfast is so-so, simple bread and eggs. but still OK for a budget hotel.

I went to Maldives with my aged mother and wife as a tourist. As I stepped out from the airport Mr Rana from BEEHIVE was there to receive us and to make us comfortable. First-class hotel location, especially beautiful scenery, the hotel along the coast, in the morning, you can see the beauty of the maldives, is the best hotel of the maldives, see the sunrise, hotel room clean and tidy, very big and very comfortable bed, toilet clean, no peculiar smell, bathing water is very big, will not wash hot and cold, and equipped with five-star ...

The hotel location is superb, 15mins only from the airport. We had a good night's sleep before being transferred to our actual resort in Maldives. We had to ask information to call the hotel and it seemed they we...

Great communication regarding pickup. When we met up, they told us there was a double booking and we couldn´t stay at this villa. But they hade arranged a hotelroom for us four instead. And it was great, just by the beach. With extra beds for your 2 kids. So nothing to complain about!

Luxury hotels in Male City and Airport

Recently stayed here on late arrival into Male before transporting to resort the next day. The pick up at the airport was smooth, service was pleasant and attentive, and breakfast was acceptable. Definately consider this hotel as a place to stay first night into the Maldives or night before you leave if that's needed.

Male city is full of crowded people around, small shops are there for small shopping, Male city is small Island almost 2Km's long and 1 Km wide, you can move around and finish all the city even by walk.
Nothing much to do here. I suggest to stay here only if you have an early morning flight to catch the next day.
Male City is crowded but people is very kind as well converse in english. Male Airport is clean and restaurants are sufficient of choices.
Male is the capital of Maldives. This is one of the most religious city I have ever been. If you go for a peaceful travel, Male is the perfect place for you other from the vast scrumptious nature, environment and beaches they have.
Male city you must visit the Fish Market, see for your eyes, the Big Big Tuna fish, and walk around to see the life of maldivians.
Well, the main function of the airport is providing flight relates terminal services, not much i can comment.
Just stop over and have a look to learn more about the local lives by visiting the fruit and vegetable market as well as the fish market.
Male City is a short boat-ride from the airport and definitely worth to visit. Airport is clean, and so the Male City overall.
Male is not why people visit Maldives. It is the expensive resorts. I enjoyed the diving which is easy to access from Male.
There's really nothing in Male and will not recommend staying there if you were to get a "feel" of Male City.
Discover Male City can be completed in 1 Day because nothing much to sightseeing. Airport clean, friendly staff but very stuffy.
Nothing much for activities and food in Male City. It's a city with small lane road and overcrowded with cars and motorbike.
Visit the fish market. There's only 1 fast food joint in Male City, Marry Brown. The fast food at the airport is very expensive.
nice small city in the middle of the ocean, market, shops and some sightseeing all at walking distance
attarction in Male city is the beach & night life, I has peaceful enviorenment & people enjoying. Maldiveins are very freindly.
We stayed near to the airport to catch the morning speed boat ride to our resort. Its only good for a 1 night stay
The airport information desk is very helpful. I once have missed the pickup from hotel. The staff of the information desk helped to contact the hotel and locate the hotel staff for me.
A good historical and a paradise country with great awesome beaches. A gd place for water activties from canoeing to scuba diving.
This is the smallest capital city I know. You can easily go to a public island from this city by taking a ferry.
I would only recommend the area as a transit stop if you have to when getting to islands or extra supplies.
The town is small, you can use 2 hours for your visit. Good taste of Indian & Local food. The price is acceptable (depend which restaurant).
If you are planning to go to the city, you might want to change some Rufiya (Maldivian currency). Otherwise, if you go straight to resort with airport transfer, you wouldnt need to use their currency.
Male city is close to the islands but it is value for your money to go directly to the resort islands.
The airport is small and lack of basic amenities. Only two restaurant and one coffee shop with expensive price! Male city is congested and dirty.
The airport you have to take a ferry to Male. then a cab to the hotel you are staying at the sommerset is great with restaurants around .
It's a very crowd city. Very hard to get taxi, must using phone to call. A lots of motorcycle on the road.
Its a pit stop, nothing more. Prefer to pay 100 usd for a hotel here if you arrive late then full nights for one of the island resorts.
Male city is very small. You can explore the city just in half day. You must go to the resort at the beautiful island for relaxation.
Male city has expensive stuff, if you are wise enough to check other shops for food and souvenirs then you will be lucky.
Male is very religious therefore if you are western it is best that you cover up as much as possible for females.
