Where to stay in Manado
Manado hotels & accommodations

Stayed here for one night, lured by the 'Wipeout' style water park on offer. If you want some physical fun, this water park will put you to the test - worth staying a night just to experience it. The hotel itself is still in the process of being renovated. The completed rooms currently can stay in still need a bit of work but are decent enough value. What the place rea...

If you are looking for a base to explore land options around north Sulawesi, this hotel is a very comfortable base to start. 20 mins from airport and located in the main "hotel" street its location is about as good as any other similar rated hotels. Its not the fanciest but the rooms are very comfortable and clean. ( we got a dulux on 8th floor). Wat sets it apar...

I stayed at Bastianos on Bunaken island with 2 friends and this was a fantastic ending of our 2 weeks trip through Indonesia. We arrived at Bunaken Island in the morning and the staff was very helpful and showed us around and explained us everything. The room was just great with sea view and very cloooooooosssseeee to the beach - like 2 steps. As it was not high season...

Had a great 5 days inbetween fairs in Asia. Many thanks to all the staff - very Friendly and professional. Special thanks also to all the Dive crew & of course Justin & Dolfi for the great underwater experience and showing all the little criters there are around. My best wishes hope to be back in the near future Patrick - Switzerland

My friend and I stayed here one day before our company's outing event held in other hotel in Manado. We're looking for a hotel just for one night, since we were visiting several place of interest surrounding Manado and needed the rest afterwards. We were very pleased to find that the room was so beautiful and neat. The bed was nice and clean. So we have a very good res...

The resort is 30 Minutes away from the international Airport and 2 hours away from MANADO city . graet to disconect from the rat race / we took the best sea facing room and ir was BIG ,clean and comfartable . - not 5 star luxary but every thing worked and had space. there are no restraunts around the resort . but food was good ( the portions were generous)and the rest...

Overall I found the hotel very/overly expensive for fairly standard offering. and I found it odd that the whole stay had to be paid in full 6 weeks prior to arrival. The food (breakfast, evening buffet/bbq) was mediocre. The staff were very nice. We were not lucky with the room where we had no hot water in the room for 75% of our stay despite many efforts by the friend...

i'm a local,i live in manado. this hotel is located near the sea shore, very good view.. sometimes packed with a lot of tourist location is very convenient. you can walk to the enjoy the view, close to the mall and groceries store (10-15min walk) staff is very helpful

the staff, location, cleanliness, aircon are all great... u can just walk to megamass area, manado town square, and hawkers foot around... u can easilly find public transports just outside of the hotel... i didnt try their breakfast so i cant review about the food. the only problem is room size is so small. and when u stay there with chinese tourists group then u can ...

Froggies is set on a lovely island in a beautiful part of the world. The staff are friendly and very helpful. They are overseen by Camille and Claudia, two extremely competent dive instructors, managers and charming hosts, who are also deeply committed to environmental issues, particularly those that impact on the sea, the reefs and the life therein. We passed six very...

Good service in Chacha, everyone is very nice with real smile. The chief is good at Italian food, better than mostly restaurant in China. The food is very healthy and changed everyday. Amazing view in the sea, so many fishes and corals surrounding. Mull, the snorkeling guide, always pull and protect me to preventing the strong flow. Raf, the owner, is very patient an...

Room are bigger then other low cost hotel room. AC is cool. Breakfast is limited choice..you can order food via "go food" if you don't want to it from restaurant. You can walk about 15 minutes to "Pasar 45" that is traditional food and environment, if you want to go to the mall, you can take Angkot/traditional Indonesia transport or taxi. Overall room is nice and wifi ...

Manado is an amazing scuba getaway and Tasik Ria is by far the best of the area resorts. This is a diver's focused place to stay, so if you're not there to scuba you should choose another spot, and probably another city. Don't expect hustle and bustle and nearby nightlife, because it's not there. You'll be in a land of your own, dedicated to your relaxation and easy...

Istanaku Guesthouse was an excellent place to stop over in Manado. We travelled all over North Sulawesi from Manado and it was very easy to get a grab car to and from the airport and to arrange personal pickups to Tangkoko, Tomohon, Bitung and Bunaken. The room is cosy with a modern toilet and TV channels in English and the staff were polite and helpful, seeing to al...

I have been traveling SE Asia for more than 20 years. My experience with budget hotels in this region is they can be dark places, rooms often lack even a single window, the rooms often smell of mildew. They are often such poor options that spending piles of money on an international standard hotel seems like the better choice. A change has been taking place, and now...

They Just Open arround April-May 2018. The room still Good, and the Staff very Kind. The Food is Okay. Very Unique Theme/ Thematic/ Boutieq hotel at Manado, the First hotel with a great Theme in Manado. They Design by Switzerland interior design. They also “go green” hotel, with all straw from aluminium. And we can Refill mineral Water infinitely, because they profide ...

We got a family room for 2 nights and it was large and spacious with hot water (a rare thing in Indonesian accommodations). The owners were accommodating with our schedules which saw us leaving very early in the day and was able to prepare breakfast for us at about 6am. The double room was dimly lit due to the bed structure blocking the light. Because of the dim ligh...

We booked the cheapest room for one night. When we arrived very late they upgraded us to their best room which was huge with a great view from the private veranda. Everything about this place was awesome and the staff was exceptionally friendly and really helpful, too. We would definitely recommend the Highland Resort if you plan to explore the Tomohon Highlands. Wish ...

I had a amazing stay at Two Fish Divers Bunaken! The place is very beautiful, super clean (the bedsheet smell so fresh) and well maintained. Swimming pool and garden are ultra clean too. The shower has hot water and the room provided with fans (we didnt feel hot). We do not dive but joined the snorkeling tour, it was amazing despite the half rainy/cloudy weather, the v...

This is tne best place for stay in Manado. Hotel is a bit far from downtown, but there is free shuttle from hotel to city and back. The beach is ok and big territory for walking or using bike. Staff is very friendly. Rooms are big and clean. THANK YOU TO MANAGER SANTY TICOALU!!!

Our stay at Leos was amazing. The rooms are clean and have everything you need. However, the best part is the friendliness of the staff. They are always willing to help you with everything you need. Also, we would like to thank Ben once again for the amazing tour to Mt. Lokon and all the tips he gave us. We liked Tomohon more than we thought thanks to all his help. ...

Griya Sintesa is a very inexpensive hotel, but the rooms are decent for the money. The big plus for those who like access to a great pool is that guests at Griya are allowed to use both the pool and fitness center at the hotel next door (yet another Sintesa). The pool is one of the very best in Manado.
Cheap places to stay in Manado

It's self was ok. Clean, welcoming but we were unfortunate with our room. It was SO SMALL!! We got the tankard double room which didn't even have a double bed. A King single which was squishy for two people. Also the size of the room was bad if you have any bags with you! We had to sets of diving gear and that left no floor space to walk. Bathroom was dirty with hairs ...

The accommodation is basic but clean and confortable. The owners Olga and Opa are charming and really helpful, they help us to organice a half day snorkel trip and a boat to come back to the mainland. Olga is also a great cooker, everyday we ate fresh grilled fishes. Unfortunately we only spent 1 day.

We booked Manado Grace Inn on our way to Manado. For the first night they gave us a standard room which are very small, not even space to put your bags (or suitcases) and move around, good for 1night. We however have been upgraded to a bigger room since we needed it for a few nights. The hotel is very close to Immigration by walking distance (very good for visa extensi...

Do not stay here. Novita see's you as a source of money and that's it. I had a terrible experience at Novita's Homestay, and unfortunately left Bunaken with a sour taste in my mouth. Novita becomes rude if you don't dive with the shop she recommends. She will pry you for information on where you are eating and where you are diving so that she can pester them for comm...

Location was easy to find, located in the center of manado. Arround 10min to reach manado boulevard by car. We were welcomed by a staff (guy) that was very friendly and show good respect to guests. Room was spacious, clean and cozy, with creative design filling the wall. Bed was comfy. Bathroom was a bit small but it did their purpose. Hot water and water pressure work...

Hotel is smoking ! Some non smoking on the 3rd floor but you have to walk through lobby and cafeteria of smokers, guests and staff. Smoking in the rooms too. So I just stayed away. The TV had static but had some English stations so a little bit of entertainment was had. No toilet paper. AC remote broke in the night. Phone didn’t work. Would only stay again because of l...

I like the hotel staffs. Very nice and pleasant. The room we booked was good enough for us to stay. For budget wise I believe this is the one. This hotel also offers affordable tours in Manado. And also local food outlet can be found nearby. Nothing to worry. As for transport to town centre or to the airport, taxis always available at the hotel area.

Living Peach House is about 800m from Manado Airport. If you are travelling light, you can actually walked there. As I arrived at night and as I have my dive gear with me, I took a taxi from the airport and was charged Rp50K!!! I stayed there for one night. The next morning the staff was kind enough to book a GRAB taxi for me, and it costs only Rp15K. This is a good p...

As the title suggests, our double room in this hotel was small ( our suit cases occupied much of the available floor space) and the ensuite toilet so small I had to use the WC sitting/standing side ways. The best feature was the dining room/bar which offered value- for- money meal & drink deals. This allowed me to award 3 stars in the Value for Money section. The...

This hotel can be nice if the staff take care about it, but it s not like that. Even i am a backpacker and i am really not picky about room. I think for the price the room have to be better. My room and bath room was not clean. I saw during 3 days arround 50 plate durty on a table outside... Anyway just clean more your hotel and i think can be better

It's one of the best hotel in Manado. Aryaduta has its own strategic place in Manado. next to the hospital, in front of the largest mall in Manado, just a couple hundred meter from the seaside. The Hotel itself was great. it has spacious lobby, friendly staff, clean room, and comfortable. the food was fantastic too. for breakfast they serve Manado traditional food like...

I lucked out with a last minute, day-before booking. I was resigned to taking a private boat from Manado port to Bunaken for 350,000 IDR but luckily the guys meeting guests were already in the port waiting for other guests and I just hitched a ride. Frank, the owner, has built an oasis on a hilltop with handsome Minahasa-style cottages with commanding views of the s...

That part about actual beach is important since not many hotels in Manado that actually have it. The location, though, is in a remote village and there's nothing outside the hotel. This is my 2nd visit, this time with my visiting sister and her family. The food quality is still not great, although there's an improvement compared to a few months ago. Also, the pink col...

This resort was fantastic. The accommodation, location and diving amenities were second to none. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and always anticipated your needs. This is simply one of the best staycation i’ve ever had Great atmosphere, great view, friendly staff, great foods. And we came in perfect time when the resort throwed independence day party for all the guests and siladen people. We had a really great time celebrating independence day by the beach. All wraped with a great bbq party at night when all crews sing some son...

Manado is a small city with some traffic congestion along the main strip near the ocean, the most obvious area for visitors to congregate as there is a string of malls along the water.
I usually visit this city for diving and stay nearer to the beach, so not really sure about the city itself.
soo many outdoor activities like mountain trekking to scuba diving. meet the smallest monkey in the world in Manado!
Manado is crowded with 650.000 people. It has the harbour to the Bunaken. There are very good fish restaurants, like Raje sate, Wisata Bahari restaurant etc.
Nice and authentic food such as Ikan Cakalang, Bobara etc, Good View and Nice sport water such as snorkling and diving at Bunaken
Bunaken is a very nice place to have a water sport such as snorkling, diving, and boulevard is a nice place to have a seafood while we are seeing sunset, it was really a nice view
Manado is very an intersting city with many thing we can have fun to be spesific in beach , many good sea food and traditional local food and freindly local people
Be prepared for a city in dire need of cleaning and repair. The streets, roads and highways are generally in poor condition.
Manado is providing modern and traditional view of nort side indonesian area. Manado peaple are close to the phillipino, the are good loking woman and man.
Nice town to visit, nice culture, nice food (especially the non-halal ones), and also nice people (especially young & adult girls)
You can goto Tomohon snd surrounding for mountain activities Can visit Bunaken, Bitung area for sea side and diving.
Small city but quite expensive to go around. Hard to get cap. For sightseeing it is better to go out of city are as there are nothing much to see within the city area.
Friendly city with a lot of good food. You can find fresh fish near beach (boulevard) and sea food restaurant.
Easy access to public transport, Close to shopping areas, Easy access to the airport, Wide variety of buffet breakfast, Close to local restaurants
North Sulawesi is known for its beautiful scenery (mountains, sea and islands), its friendly people and delicious sea food.
Easy access to public transport, Close to local restaurants, Easy access to the airport, Centrally located, Close to shopping areas, Friendly staff
Manado is a special city in Indonesia because of its isolated location, yet as a crossroads for cultural influences.
Don't stay in Manado too long, maybe one night to just catch a good vibe of the place, but go straight out of town and stay in a nice resort or go and stay on one of the islands!
very nice stay and place for a backpackers to have an experience to see, a lot of budget hotels and restaurants to be found at manado, very friendly and good people living there however please be careful with pickpockets and all.
i like Bunaken Beach about 45 minutes go to Bunaken. I like with snokling or glass ship . I like about " Bukit doa " ( one of a good place for catholic religious) I think the owner of the place is private person ( appreciate for Mr Ronald (?) ).
A small city that is located at a bay. The view is stunning, either facing to Manado Tua or to Mt. Lokon.
Nice city with friendly people, nice diving activities, one of the best in the world, the Bunaken Island.
We ca,e right on the rainy city but its okay because you can see the freshness of this city. We love going to tomohon
Must try Cafe Pelangi. Selling authentic manado food. I like fried nike, Cakalang fried rice, fried banana with sambal.
Manado is a great city if you want to do some water activity, snorkling, diving etc. It is also nice if you want to see the mountains.
City is ok like a big country town. Plenty to do if you look. Not really a touristy town. Worth going to Banarken island for the day or stay on island and diving one of the top places in the world.
a life city with very interesting public transport. how every public transport is like a mobile discoteque.
The goverment not management the city very well, they don't build a public transport, manage the bunaken island.
Naik angkot lebih murah, taxi dengan argo juga tersedia, jangan lupa makan Bubur Manado dan ikan Tude segar
I stayed at the end of rainy season but it only rained 1 or 2 times in the morning or late afternoon for a short time, not the kind of monsoon I expected.
