i like Bunaken Beach about 45 minutes go to Bunaken. I like with snokling or glass ship . I like about " Bukit doa " ( one of a good place for catholic religious) I think the owner of the place is private person ( appreciate for Mr Ronald (?) ).
a good place.
very nice stay and place for a backpackers to have an experience to see, a lot of budget hotels and restaurants to be found at manado, very friendly and good people living there however please be careful with pickpockets and all.
I enjoyed my stay there and I recommended to other people who like to travel like backpackers please do come manado and experience the place.
City is ok like a big country town. Plenty to do if you look. Not really a touristy town. Worth going to Banarken island for the day or stay on island and diving one of the top places in the world.
I did snorkling and loved it was very cool. Cheap $60 Aus for the whole day own boat . Nothing fancy here but if you like diving its awesome. Some volcanos you can visit also.
Manado is a small city with some traffic congestion along the main strip near the ocean, the most obvious area for visitors to congregate as there is a string of malls along the water.
..though strangely there are few places that offer dining with views towards the ocean and its view of nearby islands. The number and variety of churches scattered throughout the city may be interesting for some; otherwise there was not much of cultural interest on offer. There are several spas but many seem to of a rather 'seedy' variety with few offering saunas or other usual 'spa' facilities.
Bunaken is a very nice place to have a water sport such as snorkling, diving, and boulevard is a nice place to have a seafood while we are seeing sunset, it was really a nice view
Don't stay in Manado too long, maybe one night to just catch a good vibe of the place, but go straight out of town and stay in a nice resort or go and stay on one of the islands!
Small city but quite expensive to go around. Hard to get cap. For sightseeing it is better to go out of city are as there are nothing much to see within the city area.
Seafood by the lake are a must try...
Manado is very an intersting city with many thing we can have fun to be spesific in beach , many good sea food and traditional local food and freindly local people
Manado is crowded with 650.000 people. It has the harbour to the Bunaken. There are very good fish restaurants, like Raje sate, Wisata Bahari restaurant etc.
Lots of shopping possibilities and Manado Shopping Mall.
Manado is providing modern and traditional view of nort side indonesian area. Manado peaple are close to the phillipino, the are good loking woman and man.
always be happy to welcome everyone. you can find many good things in Manado
Manado is a very nice city, with beautiful sexy girls all around the city. The foods are excellent!! You have to try all traditional food in Manado.
The best thing about manado is Bunaken, the national maritime park, you could dive or just snorkel to see the beautiful underwater creature there.
Easy access to public transport, Close to local restaurants, Easy access to the airport, Centrally located, Close to shopping areas, Friendly staff
From Manado can be arranged day trips to dive in Palau Bunaken. The city do not have many things to do, but there are very valuable hotels to stay.
The best attraction in the city is a restaurant called "City Extra" where you can eat very tasty sea food and local dishes for a very reasonable price.
Easy access to public transport, Close to shopping areas, Easy access to the airport, Wide variety of buffet breakfast, Close to local restaurants
Manado is a great city if you want to do some water activity, snorkling, diving etc. It is also nice if you want to see the mountains.
The area north of Manado is very beautiful
Nice town to visit, nice culture, nice food (especially the non-halal ones), and also nice people (especially young & adult girls)
Nice and authentic food such as Ikan Cakalang, Bobara etc, Good View and Nice sport water such as snorkling and diving at Bunaken
Be prepared for a city in dire need of cleaning and repair. The streets, roads and highways are generally in poor condition.
Lots of trash. Street lights are few and far between. City planning and management seem to be generally absent. Hire a driver. Your nerves will thank you.
North Sulawesi is known for its beautiful scenery (mountains, sea and islands), its friendly people and delicious sea food.
However in the past few years, Manado has not improved much to become an "international city" or a "waterfront city". The Manado Bay shoreline has been reclaimed in the early 2000s, and instead of building seaside recreational areas and parks, the city administration built shopping malls, which were neither unique or beautiful, on the reclaimed land. Many of the traditional restaurants along "Manado Boulevard" have disappeared and been replaced by ugly shophouses. The city is still atractive, though, with its delicious seafood cuisine and nice, friendly people. Unless you have things to do in the city, you should not miss the beautiful scenery of North Sulawesi, and enjoy travelling to the mountains, villages, lakes and islands.
Must try Cafe Pelangi. Selling authentic manado food. I like fried nike, Cakalang fried rice, fried banana with sambal.
i love manado food.
We ca,e right on the rainy city but its okay because you can see the freshness of this city. We love going to tomohon
Manado is a special city in Indonesia because of its isolated location, yet as a crossroads for cultural influences.
The tolerant fusion of racial backgrounds, cultures and religions is something special on a world scale. The locals are, therefore, amazingly friendly and relaxed. The geography and geology lend the area great natural beauty, so that it fuses both hills and mountains with picturesque coastlines, with a few km of each other. Amazing.
You can goto Tomohon snd surrounding for mountain activities Can visit Bunaken, Bitung area for sea side and diving.
soo many outdoor activities like mountain trekking to scuba diving. meet the smallest monkey in the world in Manado!
Friendly city with a lot of good food. You can find fresh fish near beach (boulevard) and sea food restaurant.
A lot of thing to see when we visit some villages at Tomohon or Tondano
Since my trip was a business trip, i wish that i could have more time to explore. Overall, Manado is alright.
I usually visit this city for diving and stay nearer to the beach, so not really sure about the city itself.
But, anyway, mostly, I stay Manado area for around 2 weeks each time I go.
a life city with very interesting public transport. how every public transport is like a mobile discoteque.
for me it's a new experience to hop into a taxi with full music, screen for karaoke and a disco ball lighting system behind... a city which offers many nice dive sites. a city where sambal is provided from breakfast to supper and even for snack. Fried banana + sambal + coffee...hmmmm...
Nice city with friendly people, nice diving activities, one of the best in the world, the Bunaken Island.
A small city that is located at a bay. The view is stunning, either facing to Manado Tua or to Mt. Lokon.
The traffic is a bit heavy, though. It's easier for foreigners to hire a car with its personal driver instead of relying on the public transport.
