Marseille hotels & accommodations
Would stay again next time. No need to consider any other hotel. Luxurious atmosphere at night to enjoy the wonderful view of the Cathedral !
Loved the staff there, so friendly and nice. We were there during the World Cup and it was fun watching the game with the guests in the lobby of the hotel! Location very good, could be slightly better but definitely not bad at all! There's a tram stop right outside the hotel where you can get to the centre with literally 2 stops.
I really wanted to prolong my stay. Everything was lovely. The view was really as amazing as it looks in photos. My room was beautiful, spacious, with a nice bath, and great decor. Everything worked nicely, with extra nice touches. The breakfast was great, also with an amazing view. The hotel itself has a pretty nice restaurant/bar. And right along there is a strip of...
Perfect stay in Marseille. Great hotel, great staff, great location.
This hotel is right on the waterfront at Vieux Port, and two very easy Metro stops on Metro Line M1 from Marseille St Charles - Central Railway Station. The entrance is tucked between two restaurants and Reception is on the first floor up a broad set of stairs. Staff were helpful and friendly - and most seemed to be at least bilingual (French and English) at least. ...
Our stay was comfortable but a little bland,we stayed there at the end of a 12 day stint in Southern France and were really in need of a pool and total chill out, however the pool and pool area could have been cleaner, our room which was comfortable had a T.V which had no english channels except the news on a loop and you couldn't get movies on demand, which normally we w...
I think its one of the best hotel in Marseille but over priced just too much disappointed we made decision to go to Marseille didn't feel safe
Staff was nice. Moderate.
Sofitel is well located it's really 5 star facilities, bar restaurant and the view is superb.. Relaxing, Highly recommendable to family, Couples and Friends.
This property is ideally located at the mouth of Marseille´s Old Port. It is adjacent to a subway and within a couple blocks of the tram. At the same time, it is a 15-minute walk from Saint Charles station (main train station in Marseille). Virtually all tourist attractions are within walking distance - or within very easy reach on public transportation. Staff memb...
Quite nice, but be warned that there are 5 floors and no elevator.
We had a 5 day break, we'd asked for an early check - on booking (which you have to pay for by the way) but still not get our rooms until 4pm. On checking in we weren't told where any of the facilities were, including where or when breakfast was, pool, gym etc. I had to keep asking throughout our stay. We also asked for a late check out (again you have to pay) but had ...
No exhaust in bathroom, and no shower curtain, very hard to avoid getting the bathroom floor wet. Provided cute Marseille soap cube, shower gel, shampoo, and creme, took them as souvenirs. Staff was very nice, allowed us to check in early as the room was ready. Gave us good recommendation for Bistro L'Horloge near by and we could have a very good meal. They provide roo...
we only had a one day stay in marseilles, so location was key. this place was just 2 metro stops or a manageable walk from the main train station. it's also walkable from here to the port and many interesting neighborhoods. the room itself was nothing special, but we have no complaints either. we would stay here again for the location and value.
The hotel is very close to the metro, Perier (I think) and was very easy to find. The security at the hotel is very tight, which, for us, is a good thing. The bed is comfortable, and the room is quite spacious. The best thing was the kitchen set-up, it was great to be able to cook simple meals for ourselves. And Carrefour is in the same building, which makes it very co...
Very good experience and we enjoyed it very much~ the reception was very friendly and very nice, they gave us all the instructions of the city and good places to view, and the hotel is very close to the old port of marseille. We like it very much and we will be back when we go to Marseille again.
Perfect for our Group. Just not you need to pull out the sofa bed and put the linen on yourself. It had a kitchen as well if you needed.
This hotel was unobtrusively located in the heart of Marseille, just a few blocks from the Port. The rooms were small but efficient; the breakfast was complete and more than adequate; the staff were great, including speaking English well enough to give us very good help and advice for getting around the city. I can easily recommend the hotel with one qualification: ro...
This neighbourhood isn't the best, but it is near a Carrefour City, near the metro into town and has all the facilities (like kitchen, laundry, etc.) that you would need for a comfortable stay.
We are an elderly couple who required a hotel in Marseille for just one night. The location, near the waterfront was ideal and the beautiful outlook from the bar enabled one to 'people watch' and witness the vibrancy of the port whilst sipping a good wine in air conditioning. The location was ideal and walking to Notre Dame and the old town was not too demanding even f...
This is actually not a hotel it is an appartment building. While you do get a kitchenette and a very new comforatable room at an affordable price they do not make up your room daily or have facilities like a hotel... The room was very clean, however we were a little disturbed to find a condom wrapper under the bed! Staff were helpful and printed off my bus tickets when...
The hotel is within the Saint Charlies Train Station complex. Very convenient to get around Marseille with the public transportation (train, metro, bus) just a few minutes away. The hotel is within walking distance to the harbor. The room was clean and the room was enough space for a budget hotel. There is a paid parking space available. It was a little bit hard ...
Enjoyable and relax..it's my first time here in Marseille, the hotel located in the heart of city so I could access to anywhere quite easily.
Location is excellent in which close to train and bus station, around 20 mins walk to the city center. Stayed for 3 nights and cooked every day, love the kitchen and it's very user friendly. Only picky thing was no hair dryer provided. Will definitely stay here again if I travel to Marseille. Helpful and sweet staff, thanks for making my stay fabulous ;)
It's not the most opulent of hotels but for the price, it's a little gem. Great breakfast too.
The staff. Aproachable and helpful, good security. The whole building is rustic, maybe door ,into the garden, needs replacement However adds to the charm. Small touches would help ,if garden and sunbeds were cleaned every day. Love staying there Marsaille ibis
Good location if you want to watch a late match as the stadium is nearby.
Cheap places to stay in Marseille
The cheapest hostel in Marseille Bathroom is so tiny No hot shower as they said they were fixing The bed is quite shaky No fence for the top bed No air-con so you will have to sleep with the window opened and hear all the voices outside Wifi not really working But the travellers there are nice
Looks like it's by far the most popular hostel in Marseilles, so you'll meet a lot of other travelers there. However, the particular room I was in (B6) had this shower with a tile floor that was falling apart. Worse yet, the toilet is in another room, with no way to wash your hands without going to the bathrooms. Finally, the terrace is right below the neighbor's so yo...
We stayed just two nights at this hotel. We arrived but reception was closed, then we realized we could check in using our booking number on a computer screen that was outside the door to reception. That was very handy I think. The location was hard to find but there was a big supermarket down the road which was handy.

This hotel is quite adequate for short stay over but it is located in a neighborhood that seemingly is almost abandoned. Not really near the train station it is best reached by Metro and then a good walk straight up hill to the hotel. Seemingly there was development planned for this area but virtually all the local businesses, including a big hospital and Carrefour mar...
We only stayed one night - we arrived late and left early - but this was a great hotel. It felt like a small apartment and had the most comfortable bed I have ever experienced. I would not hesitate to stay here again. We cannot really comment on the area, convenience etc.
We only stayed one night. There is road noise but it was not too bad. Restaurant meal was delicious and staff very pleasant and courteous.

Stay was ok. Clean, breakfast reasonable . Hard to get to if you are not used to French driving and not familiar with roads. We booked here for parking but we did not read fine print at the bottom. Our Bo Bo . Parking in street was very hard to come by and during week you have to pay parking meters. Overall ok

Small comfortable boutique hotel of 30 rooms situated close to Le Major cathedral. Great access to the museums, the Vieux port and the Panier districts of Marseille. Cannot emphasis how good the staff were when we were taken ill especially the weekend receptionist who was wonderfully kind.
No warm water. I changed room because i had to wait 1hour for use warm water. How is this happening at the hotel? And the gas stove is too old. It does not work well. Hair dryer is available for rent only but when I went to rent hair dryer in the morning, the staff said another people borrowed the dryer so there was not anymore. I never recommended this hotel. ...

We had a good stay at Citadines. Room was big with the extension of the kitchenette. Toilet was split between the bathroom and toilet which was a good plus point. Very comfortable stay. Do take note that there isn't a daily room cleaning which is not a problem for us. The wifi can be cranky at times. In addition, we arrived at night and drove past the hotel twice as th...

Nice Apartment, but missing TV remote
Marseille... a wonderful city especially in the summer time. There were many hotel to choose from and we made our choice with this one because of a really good price. The hotel is very nice, the room is big enough. It is located not in the hart of a historic city and it takes a 10-15 min walk to the nearest metro station. Located in a quiet region near a renovated park...

Right off tram lines stop. Good price. Room size is small but clean and quiet. Staff speaks English well and they’re helpful. Gel disposals for hand wash and shower. There are two towels for 2 persons. Not paying for breakfast (14 euros per person)
This hotel is in an excellent location, only 5 minute walk to the vieux port where there are restaurants, shops everywhere and boats to take you to main attractions as well as buses. The staff spoke good English and were funny too! The room came with a desk and chair, a comfy bed, tv and air conditioning and a surprisingly biggish bathroom. You must leave your key at t...

Hotel was not near the town of Marseilles and is located in a secluded area up a hill. To make things worse, the hotel staff actually accused us of stealing a pillow during our stay there! Who in the right mind will want to stuff a pillow in his or her luggage? Wifi connection was poor
Very nice place and great location. You can either take Metro or bus and both are very convience.
We had a very warm welcome from Chantel at check in. She was very knowledgeable about the area and helpful. She encouraged us to contact the desk if we needed anything at any time. The room is small as many French hotel rooms are. It was light and airy with good quality bedding and a very comfortable bed. The only thing I found off-putting was that there was a soft spo...
Great price with a 4-stars hotel experience. Room is very neat and tidy, spacious enough for a couple, comfortable bed with excellent view facing to the Stade Velodrome. A wonderful place to refresh yourself after the long flight but not...
really nice hotel in a very good location in the city. Service is good and it has a place to park. You can walk to main street and be close of restaurantes and shopping centers as well as transportation.
We had a great time during our week long stay. We ate in the Villa Massalia restaurant onsite our first night (reservations recommended) and our meals were excellent, service and attention were also wonderful. Before dessert came, we realized that we were falling asleep and they were instantly accommodating to take our desserts up to our room for us. On Wednesday, a...
Very good self contained apartment located close to the Port of Marseille. Walking distance to nice restaurants, tourist sights, shopping strip and transport. Overall, extremely satisfied with the Suite Affaire and would stay again. Highly recommended.
This is the Best Hotel in the neighborhood (new business district) with a great restaurant (incl. breakfast). Highly recommended, if you manage to find a room since this hotel is in very high demand.

It is a very relaxing place and people is so nice there. And you should try peach there, it's very juicy and sweet!
Inyteresting port city.Great for walking and sightseeing. Lots of good eating establishments of all types.
The city is very beautiful and the sights are really worth the time. The people are friendly (at least those we've met) and helpful.
good: the sea area, the "Vieux Port" bad: the arriving in the city (by car or by train). Really not welcoming, could be even scary for some
Section 8 were this hotel was located well we drove there it is a typical dirty port city graffiti every were driving was difficult not our cup of tea at all we stayed the night and left the next day So our comment is not totally fair but the city did not impress us at all the other hotel recommended a Chinese restaurant around the corner from the novetel and that was good standard
A vibrant and fascinating city by the mediteranian sea. If you are looking for dipping in the sea or simply basking in the sun mix with gastronomy adventure and some arts, then look no more.
Marseille is very large with many areas to discover. From seaside, beaches to real city life. You can move around with the velo system and the bus and boat systems for longer destinations.
Don't hanging around the train station as a bit dangerous. Local restaurants usually serve a great seafood with reasonable prices.
it is an authentic city that the renovation and opening of new cultural sites such as the MuCEM really changed the scale and the face of the city.
It is better that you have to visit the tourist office before do anything, because there have some tours can join but which is not available everyday.
marseille is one of the best city for shopping, and food attraction also for to see mediteranian sea
Marseille is a very underrated city. The people are just as cultured as any French person but they have such a laid back way of life in Marseille that it is a much needed change from Parisians.
Our time was limited, we found we would have enjoyed more time to explore the interesting history of this port city.
Idl If is a great place even though you never read the book related to that.I never read after all. And it's not so unsafe as others said.
