La Pirogue A Sun Resort
Wolmar,Mauritius Island - View on map
"We stayed in La Pirogue for 9 days and had our wedding ceremony there. The hotel is located on the best beach of the island - Flic en Flac and has very big territory covered with palms. As all rooms are in the separate bungalows all guests are separated by beautiful gardens and has quite a lot of space to enjoy nature. The rooms are very big and you have a lot of space inside - much more than seen on the photos. As bungalow roof is very high and shaped into triangle making room planning asymmetric and feel very special. It is very different from other hotels. Staff is very responsive and helpful, rooms are clean. For the couples that are looking forward to get married on Mauritius we would highly recommend La Pirogue because: * It is located on the west coast so you can have wedding on the sunset * It is located on the most famous and wide beach on the island * The staff in guest relations will help you to organize everything you can imagine for your special day * Royal suits with private garden are just what you'll want for your first night ;) * Scenery for the photo shots is great with hundreds of palms you'll never find anywhere on the island."

Palms Hotel
Quatre Bornes / Ebene,Mauritius Island - View on map
"Please keep in mind, by Oct/19, Mauritius didn't have an organized taxi hailing service, no uber or any other such companies operate in Mauritius. that make it very difficult to move around in Mauritius. the Hotel is located about 16km out of capital city and two km away from cybercity. I had to take busses to both places due to lack of taxi services and those you find also ask exorbitant rates, a Mauritian lady specifically warned me of taxi drivers trying to charge very high amounts from visitors. If you are visiting on business, better to look for a place close to the business venue, In my case it was the issue I had. The Plams hotel itself had some pros and cons. rooms are spacious and clean. however only basic amenities were available. the Breakfast was so basic, I only had two options and fruit served was not even fresh. I wish I can post some pictures here of the breakfast table."

Preskil Island Resort

"A warm and friendly welcome by the staff from bellhop to guest relation officer. Food quality was consistent at breakfast (room service) and lunch (buffet). It is a lovely resort with beautiful views of the sea with some pretty bird life, sharing our breakfast. My husband photographed a big green Mauritius Day gecko. Perfect location for both short or long stay in Mauritius!"

Pearle Beach Resort & Spa
Flic En Flac,Mauritius Island - View on map
"The resort is set in quaint Flic-en-Flac, but the staff are great ambassadors of all the charms Mauritius has to offer. They provide good advice about activities all over the island to make your visit memorable and assist you to explore this idyllic island destination from coast to coast. However, it’s the warmth of their hospitality and the ambience that makes returning to Pearle Beach exceptional. The resort offers good dining and bathing facilities for the days when you just want to bask on the beach to rest from your travels. The view from the luxury rooms over the sea is picturesque and the beach is literally a few steps from your room. The management, having themselves travelled all over the world, make a genuine effort at service excellence. Together with their endearing and respectful staff, they effortlessly excel in making the resort feel like a home away from home. The Pearle hospitality is five star!"

Mauricia Beachcomber Resort & Spa
Grand Baie,Mauritius Island - View on map
"We were 3 generations staying together, some for the first time in Mauritius. We chose a Le Mauricia for its location and the sea view from the rooms. When we checked in our room was at the rear of hotel and the view was limited. I complained about this and I must say the staff were very helpful. There were none of our room type available with the good view so they upgraded us to a 2 bedroom apartment. At this stage it was just us and the grandkids. When the parents arrived 4 nights later, we took one of the original rooms. All this and the staff just helped. The hotel is lively full of people, with great pools and buffet dining that is about right for what we paid. "

Le Cardinal Exclusive Resort
Trou aux Biches,Mauritius Island - View on map
"We enjoyed a lovely three night stay at Le Cardinal. The experience was somewhat marred, however, by alcohol prices that are little short of outrageous. Whilst I understand that Mauritius is an island, and that there are import duties and middlemen, paying as much for single bottle of South African wine as would yield no fewer than ten bottles of the same wine from a retail outlet in South Africa, smacks of profiteering on a grand scale. Even local rums are massively overpriced and detracted from enjoyment of a cocktail on the beach lounger. Also, the practice of only providing complimentary bottled water for the guests on the first night leaves a bad impression. Bottled water of the quality provided (not Perrier or even San Pellegrino)- I think the brand was Crystal, is inexpensive enough to provide to guests on a gratis basis. The goodwill generated will far outweigh the minimal cost. "
