Traveling to Mexico? Find Merida hotels

The Hyatt Regency in Merida is a great hotel, just a 20 minute walk from the main town square. The room was clean and spacious, with a large in-room safe. The staff were very friendly. I did not try the in-house restaurants so cannot comment. The pool area was stylish, but the pool would be better if it was heated... the water was very very cold. Otherwise it’s a great place to stay.

my parents and i had a pleasant time in merida largely due to the excellent hospitality provided by alex, the super generous owner, and his super friendly staff members at hotel hacienda merida. not having access to water due to maintenance issues for a while,the owner generously provided us free breakfasts during our entire stay, and even prepared some snacks for our 5am departure. these were all greatly appreciated by us and we would not ever hesitate to recommend this hotel for anyone heading to merida!

Everything about this hotel was amazing. The staff is super friendly and knowledgable, service is perfect, location is the best you can get - walking distance to all of the center plus Paseo de Montejo (about 20min walk). The room and all of the building is beautiful and the pool is amazing and you WILL need to dip in because it’s really hot in Merida. The best part of all is that I missed the first night of my stay due to a cancelled flight and they did not charge me for it at all! Not many hotels would be so kind and understanding. The price is excellent for what you get. It’s a true 4 star hotel with 5 star experience! You also got cold beer as a welcome when you arrive and a log list of restaurants for breakfast lunch and dinner as well as other activities and recommendations. I will recommend this hotel to everyone because despite of my super high standards this hotel did not disappoint in any way. Definitely pick this one!

The strongest asset of the Hotel San Jose is its great location only a few steps from the central city square. Practically all visitor attractions are within convenient walking distance. This is a budget hotel, and its two-star rating is accurate. The property is safe and clean. Amenities are very basic. My standard room did not have a view, but dimensions made for a nice stay. The bed was comfortable, and the air conditioning functioned properly. I had a flat-screen TV with local programming only. For storage, I had sufficient drawers but no closet. My fare included a tasty, though not abundant, breakfast at the restaurant on the ground floor. All staff members were professional and well qualified. For travelers willing to forego luxury in the interest of good location at very competitive cost, this is an interesting option because the reception also books tours. I already made a booking to return to this hotel in seven months.

We love the hotel, the staff and the location. Fifth time staying there in 20 years.. The location is just a long block from the city center where one can find plenty to see and do. We found the best tacos ever across the street from the cathedral, and cheap. Merida is more Spanish than Spain (I have been to Spain) NOTE: take bug spray because the hotel is “open air”, my wife and granddaughter got a few bites at the pool and while eat. I didn’t get bit. IF YOU like quiet don’t get a room with a balcony over the street. It’s a little noisy but we accept the occasional loud truck so we can use the balcony to watch people. We slept just fine.

Beautiful building. 5 mins walk to the cathedral. Our pool facing room was quiet in the evenings. A couple of free drink options available in the lobby. It was nice to chill with a coffee or juice before heading out into the heat of Mérida. Good massage available in the spa for $600 MXN. Off street parking (we had a hire car). Big rooms with good AC. In room safe ($500 deposit for key and lock). A great place to stay in this price range (£50 UK)

When arriving at the El Conquistador, the staff immediately took our luggage and welcomed us into the lobby. It was almost midnight and we were very tired from traveling. Since it was our first day in Mexico, we felt like we didn't have information regarding buses, restaurants, etc. The staff and in particular the bell man was so very helpful. He spoke English well and helped us find everything we needed.

The place has definately got potential. The next hotel housed in the same building (former monastery) is amazing and perhaps Caribe can walk over and have a look. Hotel room very outdated, it was clean, but furnishing is old and design isn't really thoughtout (closet opens onto the bed). There was a pool, but deck chairs are wrecked. You do get a good view of the cathedral though. Its location is a good as you are close to the sights you'll want to see in Merida, close to shops and restaurants too.

Charming spot,a gem, a first class experience at a very reasonable price. Open courtyard,fountain and gardens, comfortable couches and convenient tables. Everything is spotless and staff is warm, friendly & helpful. Owner is on hand, accessible and attentive. Great food in the restaurant.. The shops are the best in Merida. The location is perfect. We truly could not be more pleased.

The only serious issue was that if your booking is through Agoda you will have to pay at the end of the trip and they will try and charge you a different rate entirely. Ours went from $53 a night to $78 dollars a night excluding taxes. Agoda need a good rocket over this issue as not only is it embarrassing to find out you haven't paid but for the rate to raise so much is almost criminal. Doubt I will be using Agoda again. The hotel provide two small bottles of water when you arrive and that is all. Seriously this is Mexico and hot and if you think you can survive on this you are sadly mistaken. If you book one day at a time you will continue to get a free bottle every day. The hotel also has more rules than the Motor Traffic Act of 1909 (as amended). If you are a smoker you have one small area near the pool only if other people are not offended or you have to extinguish the cigarette. The towels provided on some days were the size of a postage stamp.

This description and photos do not do this place justice! As our first visit to Mérida, we had our initial hesitations about wandering off the "typical tourist" path but this hotel (and city) has completely changed our perspective. Once you reach the center of the city, the architecture, streets, and overall environment have an old European Spanish influence and feel. The streets were filled with people and music, amazing food, and historic landmarks. Once we arrived at the hotel, the front desk gentlemen were extremely hospitable, polite, and knowledgable. We were offered complimentary beverages, a tour of the entire grounds, and detailed advice about the area. It was honestly the true "VIP" treatment, and we've certainly had our fair share of 5-star hotels in the past. We were amazed once we entered the lobby - it was like an immaculate oasis in the center of the urban city. Our single room (which had a private porch with poolside hammock) was larger than most 2br apartments in Seattle, with more amenities than many of the larger 5-star hotels in the usual tourist spots, with the hospitality of a small town bed & breakfast. The next morning, we sat out by the pool and had a great conversation with one of the staff. Our breakfast was delicious and served with coffee in a French press. Once we left, the check-out process was quick and easy and we were on our way. We all wished we had several more nights to enjoy this beautiful hotel. Do not pass it up!

Wir sind nach 1h wieder abgereist, da das Zimmer und auch ein zweites ungesund und eklig nach Schimmel rochen. Unhaltbare Bedingungen. Ich kann mir nicht erklären, wie die gute Bewertung zustandekommt. Wir haben von den drei Nächten nur 50% erstattet bekommen. M.E. Ein Unding, da eine solche Unterkunft gar keine Daseinsberechtigung hat. We left the hotel after one hour because of its strong, unhealthy and disgusting mold smell. They showed us a second room, which was bad as well. We got 50% refund from our three nights. I‘d have expected 100% refund. Offering such a accommodation is ridiculous. I can’t understand the good rating. I would have given 0 of 10 Points.

This property is gorgeously curated and the team working here is so attentive. We were always impressed by how they knew when we were arriving back to open the gate and have our key ready. The recommendations we received of where to eat and what to do were fantastic too and took into consideration our preferences and a variety of price points. Breakfast was phenomenal.

Really good stay at the Kook Art 57 Boutique. Unrivalled staff with particular gentleman called Eduardo who really went the extra mile to be helpful. We were two female travellers and were given really helpful advice and great service throughout our stay. Pretty little hotel with charm and fantastic value for money! Highly recommended for a cheap and cheerful quirky hotel.
