"Great if you want privacy, peace and quiet. The beach front is small but very pretty and good for a bit of paddling around. The hotel is basic but clean and the rooms are large. We walked to Mirissa beach (via beach then road) which took about 30-40 minutes. If you're getting a tuk-tuk, make sure you give the correct address in Thappawthha as there is another hotel with a similar name in the opposite direction. We had fresh fish for dinner both nights and it was delicious - the owner will tell you what he has on offer and you can choose what you like. Breakfast is very generous as well. The wifi is slow and only available in the foyer/dining area. "

"During our vacation through Sri Lanka, we opted for one night in Mirissa and Handagedara Resort, as we stopped in the area to go whale-watching. Our previous hotels were fine, but lacking in some of the finer touches, but when we arrived here, we found ourselves at a first-class establishment, with the details taken care of with a professional touch. Greeted warmly by the hotel owner, we were taken to our awaiting room, which in the hot Sri Lanka climate was cooled for our arrival with the A/C. The room was tastefully decorated and while a bit noisy (due to construction of a swimming pool), it was a welcome respite. The beach is just a three minute walk away and Handagedara employs a standout cook-we had lunch and dinner and all four dishes we tried were among the best we had on our vacation, which is saying a lot in a place where every meal was enjoyable. The last thing to say-Handagedara was a great bargain, the cheapest place we stayed in Sri Lanka while the service, decor, and professionalism combined for the best quality on our trip (and we didn't have any bad experiences with hotels in the country). "We really enjoyed our stay here. Very nice room with cold AC and good WiFi . The staff were very nice and welcoming. Their pool and food is great, and what we found to be very convenient was that the Palm Tree Grove is literally across the street. There is a side street across the road that takes you right to it, like a 1 minute walk. It’s the best spot in Mirissa to take Instagram photos to make your friends jealous 🤣. If you are looking for a place to stay in Mirissa you should come here. "

"Location - Twenty Two is roughly a 30 sec walk from the beach. Bang in the centre of Weligama. Perfect location to visit Mirissa and Galle. Rooms - Amazing ocean facing rooms ! Since tourism has taken a hit, some of the premium rooms were available at lesser prices. We took a chance and had a magnificent room booked. Spacious, balcony, overlooking the pool and the ocean. Service - Par excellence ! As Indians, we were treated with the utmost respect and highest levels of hospitality. Food - In 2 nights, we had 2 breakfasts and 1 dinner. Great sea-food and local cuisines were served. We had an unforgettable experience to say the least ! Tip - The staff had suggested a restaurant by the name of W15 within walking distance from the hotel. It was one of the best restaurants I have been to ( location, ambiance, Bar, Decor, Food, Pool, Garden and on the beach !!) "
