Beautiful place kept spotlessly clean throughout with large bandas with sea view and a troupe of Colobus monkeys that mind their own business for added interest. Food was nice, but as both lunch and dinner are buffet, and with similar dishes recurring it all gets a bit repetitive for a long stay. It could really do with theme nights to ring the changes and some completely different light snacks for lunch like fish sandwich or samosas. Curiously no avocados were seen throughout a 2 week stay, and coffee was instant, a travesty for an Italian managed establishment in Kenya. Nice to be able to break off for complimentary afternoon tea though. Attentive and prompt bar waiter service in restaurants and beach. Adequate bed mattresses. We only went scuba diving once as the boat used is a small former game fishing boat that has not much space or shade and no racks for tanks. With 4 divers kitting up on our dive on a cramped space on the deck, seasickness unsurprisingly followed and only 1 diver went down for the 2nd tank dive. Toiletries are unbranded, so if you are particular what you use, best advised to bring your own. Fast wifi everywhere. Hot water relies on diesel generator power, and was off for most of our stay until repairs were completed, but they did apologise, upgrade our room instead and fixed it. A few beach vendors present, but they do not hassle you and stay below the high tide mark away from the beach loungers.

The location is fantastic, rivalling places in Zanzibar at which we have stayed. Two lovely pools! Snorkelling can be done just off the two private white sandy beaches (no problem with beach boys)! A variety of accommodation to suit your needs , including self catering! It is in a remote place so without your own transport it could be a problem if you want to try other restaurants, however taxis can be arranged. The staff are fantastic, friendly and attentive!

My Fiancé and I visited Voyager Beach resort in Mombasa. Our trip was fantastic. All the staff at the hotel was friendly. When we arrive the guard at the gate, blow a horn and said the queen has arrived. I felt very special. When I arrive at the front desk, the staff was kind and helpful. I was exhausted from my long trip, and they made sure I had something to drink and was conformable until my room was ready. The guy that took me to my room give me a lot of information on the resort, someone also called my room during the day to make sure everything was ok. Later on that day and for the rest of our trip we went to the main restaurant where we ate many mouthwatering dishes and I must say my fiancé, and I fell in love with everyone that we meet and everyone that serve us at the restaurant. Pros: beautiful property, friendly staff, delicious food, right on the beach, flexible check in/check out, EXCELLENT service. Cons: we went right before the busy season, so there weren’t many people there. For us, we didn’t mind bc we only wanted to relax, but if you’re looking to party rather than relaxation, maybe this isn’t the place for you. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay here. The staff went out of their way at every level. Since the hotel wasn’t busy, we were upgraded to the Colobus Suite (#19) for free. It was the perfect suite to relax, enjoy the scenery and see all the monkeys jumping around. We got the half board (breakfast & lunch incl) which made sense. The portions are large and you can swap dinner for lunch. Drinks weren’t too expensive. If you’re looking for a relaxing place to stay with top service - this is the place. Diani Beach is beautiful. We will be back for sure.

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Mombasa. While not directly on the beach, it's a quick 10 minute tuk-tuk ride away. The location is between Old Town and the beaches. The staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. The hotel is only four months old so is incredibly clean and well-decorated. There is a brand new gym, a beautiful pool with poolside lounge, and garden dining. I will stay here again when returning to Mombasa. Best part? About a third of the cost of beach-front hotels.

For a person who is part of a five star hotel we usually notice very small mistakes but trust me when never found anything to complain about .From the time I made the bookings to the time I needed the adjustments everything was perfect . As we were traveling a group of 4 and I needed an extra bed which the hotel did not provide I expected a negative respond only to be surprised by the Reservations manager Mercy who responded to my email swiftly to my surprise . Even as I kept calling and asking questions the phone was always answered to my satisfaction. Now came the D- Day and we walked in to this beautiful building with amazing people in it . Whoever trained the staff hats off to you ..There was never a time the staff did not have a smile on their faces and were always helpful .I was quiet surprised that all of them remembered and addressed me by name even the bar man remembered what we were drinking the previous day .. The room was always spotless and perfectly done each and everyday .I have recommended to all my friends relatives and clients for I know they will not be disappointed .I have found a second home at English Point Marina . A special thanks goes out to Receptionist Grace Wamai ,Room stewart Bryson Sangari ,Pool Bar Attendant Eric Ongori and Porter Robinson Onyango and to the Reservation Manager Mercy Mihegwa and not forgetting the Front office Manager ... Overall message - it was a lovely place and I enjoyed my stay here; however (and this may be a danger of all inclusive deals) they were stingy with the waters and internet Pros: Clean rooms, balconies, nice pools, awesome beach deck and beds, good buffets with variety, friendly staff Cons: Crowded (but it is high season), loud until 11PM (which would be a problem if you wanted to sleep earlier), internet is expensive, don't give enough water in the room

I stayed there for 7 nights 13th -20th July and i enjoyed every moment. It was sad to leave. I would definately recomend anyone who would like to enjoyed beach holiday or relaxing to visit this hotel. Its great. Just ignore all the travel advissories. Its all rubish. The place is quite peacefull and very secure. Just dond rely on negative publicity of Mombasa otherwise you are missing a chance to experience a holiday of your lifetime. Just book, get on that plane and go enjoy your holiday at the Severin.

This was my first visit to OVC and I would definitely return in the future. The staff were very nice and the food was great. The drinks menu (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) was super. The seating and lounging areas were very comfortable which made for a lovely and relaxing beach experience. The manager personally checked in with us every day which was thoughtful. I think some areas for improvement would be to train staff how to make things that are not common in Kenya (ex. they thought affogato was a coffee and not a dessert, and I'm not sure if they know what Chantilly cream is - it seemed more like a caramel sauce). Also, some additions to the room would be great - lotion, hair conditioner, and small bedside mats to get rid of sand on your feet before getting into bed. Overall, I had a great experience and will return in the future.

Pros are that Diani Reef has good facilities, it is well located and the staff were friendly and helpful The cons were, on arrival, I was allocated a room that wasn't aired - in fact, it was very musty. However, this was quickly rectified and I was allocated another room. However, the major con is the quality of the food. I ordered pizza in the restaurant and it was positively the worst pizza I have ever had in my life. The seafood restaurant served fish that was poor and way over priced. At the breakfast buffet, the food was plentiful but very low quality. At the prices they are charging, the quality of the food is unforgivable. (BTW, I ate in a number of restaurants nearby where the food was of good quality at reasonable prices.) Overall, my impression was of an hotel which wasn't doing the business it once was and, foolishly, decided to cut costs by low quality food. Finally, when I was checking out, it took nearly 40 minutes as only one person can deal with check-outs!!!!

This could have been better. They are located centrally in Nyali, near supermarkets and restaurants, but quite far away from the beach. My apartment consisted in a bedroom, bathroom, and huge living room, but the latter was shared with another apartment (thought the latter happened to be unoccupied during the whole stay). This wasn't so bad, but they should have stated it in the description. There was no aircon in the living room (only in the bedroom) which was a disappointment, and the room was quite dark. I had to fight until they allowed me to use the (equally shared) kitchen, though they claim to have a "kitchenette" in every room. There is a swimming pool on the roof, but it's tiny. I also missed a shaded outside sitting area anywhere on the property.

Showers didn't work, AC didn't work, no working safes in rooms, no tvs, had to change rooms 3 times to at least finally get a working shower and AC at the minimum. One of the room changes was at 3 30am. The manager was apologetic and said he would make it up the next time we stated. But let's be real, I will most likely never come back. Please don't reccomend this hotel to anyone. I would like to ask for a refund for 2 nights as we had no AC and the staff refused to change our room. Unacceptable. I'm an avid traveller and don't like to complain by any means but this experience has left me feeling like I was ripped off and the hotel was misrepresented. I appreciate this is not your fault but I would like to seek partial reimbursement for these failed facilties and lack of advertised amenities.

it was excellent stay! The room was big, clean, with kitchennete , mosquito net and big balcony. the garden way beautiful, the pool was very clean. Wifi was very fast. Breakfast was also good. The hotel was not on the first line, but everything was near-pharmacy, supermarket , very beautiful beach was about 7-10 minutes far. Thank you for the time i spent in your hotel!

I didn't get a refurbished room and my friends did - there is a huge difference so make sure to ask. The beach isn't great as it is very tidal and is swarmed with 'beach boys' hassling you. However the hotel set up our safari and it was phenomenal - as a coastal safari base the place is perfect. It's a 2-3 hour drive from the parks but if you're doing a 3-4 day safari that's fine. As far as standard of hotel, it's not 5 star by any means but it's trying to be, and this or Serena is the best you'll do on the Mombasa north strip. Due to the lack of tourists recently the value was insane. The Kenyan people are incredibly friendly, and almost all speak English. The staff weren't always brilliantly competent, but were always eager to help and lovely people.
