More about Mornington Peninsula

Mornington Peninsula is found to the south of Melbourne with Port Phillip Bay to the east and Western Port Bay and Phillip Island to the south. The destination is excellent during both the summer and winter months with a number of cities offering beaches, wineries, and campgrounds. A train runs from Melbourne to Frankston, and from there, it will take up to a 90-minute bus ride if heading to the most western settlements.

The largest of the towns found here is Mornington and is ideal for those looking to set up base as they explore the surrounding villages and attractions. Inland from the town of Dromana, Arthurs Seat is the popular viewing point with a 305-meter summit. The 26km Two Bays Walking Track runs through Arthurs Seat State Park from Domana to Cape Schank, and Mornington Peninsula National Park also offers several tracks to choose from. Red Hill offers a relaxed destination with rolling hills and wineries, and Portsea is where the expensive holiday homes and iconic Portsea Pub are found. For beaches, Sorrento Beach offers a spectacular destination.
