Mukdahan hotels & accommodations
What an unexpected delight it was to walk into the entrance of this opulent hotel in Mukdahan. The decor is authentic middle European very tastefully presented. The property has absolute frontage onto the Mekong River, and every room has uninterrupted views from their balconies. If your visit is a special occasion, the option of a corner suite is highly recommended. W...
This hotel is located on good location, that you can see good view of Thailand, Mekong River and Loas. It's located near Indochina Market, besides in front of the hotel, it has convenience store. If you want to eat dinner, I recommend a good taste and cheap restaurant on the 16th floor, where you can see a perfect view of Mukdahan, Mekong river and Loas, moreover this ...
I lived in Mukdahan for a year in 1969. I was in the U.S. Air Force and there was a radar site in Mukdahan. After waiting 44 years to return choosing this hotel was a great decision. A perfect location at a great price with a wonderful staff. My wife is Thai so an English speaking staff was not a requirement but some of the staff had decent English language skills. The...
Easily to find the hotel I walked from the Mukdahan bus station to the hotel is not too far The hotel is new clean and comfortable stay with reasonable price but I have hardly to find the store and restaurants for my dinner you have to walk back to the bus station there are some restaurants there
We enjoyed our trip ...good for kids has big park for them to run around...free coffee...breakfast’s ok. It’s a little far but we had our own car so no problem about that it small town we can travel to everything.. We enjoyed the river views and quite..hotel no room service but u can order foods (provided by hotel staff ) very cheap and we ordered pizza..we would stay ...
Room was very tidy and good enough to fit 2 persons. Breakfast served both local and intercontinental style. This is a four-story building without elevators...
A real wonderful surprice. Spacy room, nicely decorated. Friendly staff. Bathroom a treat. The Bird Day Hotel is in class, with some of the top hotels in Mukdahan. It will not be the last time I stay at The Bird Day Hotel.
We had 2 spacious adjoining rooms for our family of five which were clean and serviced well during our three day stay. Although on the outskirts of Mukdahan city it is on a main thoroughfare and the downtown area is easily reached by local transport although this motel is more defined to capture through traffic . I would recommend this motel to tourers through Mukdaha...
This hotel offers much for a few money. The rooms are big and it is very clean. The bathroom is clean and practical. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We will go back to this hotel when we're going to Mukdahan.
Why staying in Mukdahan? Because you have just arrived from Laos and on the next day, you take the bus to Bangkok. So where to spend the night? Close to the bus station so that you don't have to carry your heavy luggage, at a place that is valuable for money, comfortable, clean and run by a friendly staff. And so is the Submukda hotel.
My stay was surprisingly good! Surprising because the location is absolutely superb if you wish to cross into Laos from Thailand. After arriving by Mini bus from Udon Ratachani I was dropped directly to the Villa Thiwa Hotel. It was late at night, so I was very happy that the Owner was very pleasant & helpful. The Hotel is set in countryside & a great view in ...
A beautiful manor house overlooking the Mehkong at the bend of the river. Delicious Thai and gourmet western food, one of the best restaurants in all of Thailand and I have lived here for 7 years. Great swimming pool, large free English breakfast included in the low price of the room, one of the best places I have stayed in in Thailand, very helpful and friendly, will ...
Value for money , with huge rooms - just strange that we were the only guests in hotel
Passing through enroute to Laos for visa...was ok for a night... All the basics, with a few good restaurants very near. Good for the price...main attraction for me was proximity to the bus station, as needed to get first bus to Savannakhet (0630)
We booked 2 nights through Agoda and ended up spending 8 nights here while we visited our son who is teaching in Mukdahan. I can't say enough about what a wonderful time we had at this hotel - it was sparkly clean, the bed was comfortable, everyone from the cleaning staff up to the owner/manager made us feel at home and welcome. Sha Sha (the owner/manager) has a gift...
This hotel was nicer than i expected. I was worried because the room was so cheap, but the hotel wasnt that bad. The bed was relatively soft, a lot softer than the bed at the other hotel we stayed at in mukdahan. The hotel is not new, but it is in pretty decent shape. My room had a nice view of the river. Not a four star by any means but would stay here again when...
Hotel reviews are very subjective and difficult because everybody sees things differently. This hotel suits me because of the price, and I can overlook the dirty bathroom and light not working and the thin towels.Staff were responsive after overcoming the language barrier. The true test is- "would I stay there again?" The answer is yes Next time I am in Mukdahan,Iw...
my stay at the baandala hotel was verry good. the rooms are new, a good cleaning personell, always at your service to help. the hotel is not so far from busstation, lothar market and mukdahan center. you can walk the distance of it, i think about 3-4 km.
Nice location away from road and spacious areas and room. Free breakfast was toast and coffee. Hotel construction is wierd with no confinement of noise between rooms and corridors. Can hear next door neighbor brush his teeth.
My wife and I stayed one night during a roadtrip and we really enjoyed our stay. David was a great host. It is a small resort with only 3 bungalows, but they are all well maintained and comfortable. The location is remote, but this is a great option if you are looking to experience a small Thai village setting. David also has extensive knowledge of the area if you are ...
No tuk tuk nobody no informer on phone knew of the place so they took us to a more expensive place. Just been travelling 10hrs did not argue but not impressed
Nothing negative. Great if your travelling by bicycle. Lovely couple who can speak about 50 words of English. Its cheap and you get what you pay. Great if travelling by boat or bike. 1km walk to main rd for restaurant etc.

Mukdaharn is border to Savannakhet Laos. This place is good to stay 1 or 2 night and you also can across the river Khong to visit Laos.
very friendly clean city many good food /shopping places fantastic viewing good hotel guest houses in and around Mukdahan
Mukdahan is a popular city on the Mekhong River facing Laos. Most foreigners use Mukdahan as a border crossing to Savannakhet Laos.
The area is green and can be hot but there are various temples and sight seeing areas of interest in this region.
Mukdahan impressed me with its general cleanliness and the friendly demeanour of the local population.
It is only a quite boder city. It is very cloae to 2nd Lao-Thai Friendship bridge, which connect to Savannakhet in Laos.
A small and quiet city on the banks of the Mekhong River. The riverside market offers goods from neighbouring countries, especially China.
A dreary, soulless town devoid of any culture or attractions to warrant making an effort to stay there.
Very big and diverse night market considering Mukdahan is not that big. This time, when you see a table full of bugs for sale (to eat!) its not just for the tourists to gawk at because there aren't that many westerners here.
Mukdahan is a growing market town on the border with Laos. Situated on the Mekong River it has a key bridge across to Savannakhet in Laos with onward bus connections to Cities in Laos and Vietnam.
Mukdahan has lots of shopping at the Indochinese market and restaurants that serve good local food. A trip to the Mukdahan Tower is interesting.
Is small province which is the gate open to Indochina to connect to Laos,Vietnam and China, not many tourism but might be good for anybody who like to have advandture.
Mukdahan is a great little city to spend a few days just wandering around and getting lost. The Mekong river is never too far away
For mine this is one of the best areas of Thailand. Transport (Air and bus)is good and easily accessible for trips everywhere both internally and to go to other places and regions.
Mukdahan city : Calm, simple,beautiful,convenience,good food,shopping...Mukdahan Taxi Center 042-613 666
Lovely small town on the banks of the Mekong River and well worth visiting for it's famous Indo-Chinese markets which are situated along the river promenade and also a level below the street level! fabulous night food market.
Mukdhahan is big province with a lot of histories. There is a few tourist attractions and our kids have fun, like Mukdhahan Tower.
Used probably mostly as transit to Laos for Visa travelers from Thailand and of course Thai gamblers going to the Casino in Laos.
The town is very provincial, but that makes the people here more friendly and easy going. The language can be difficult sometimes, but with my Thai wife have no issues myself.
nice sightseeing, beautiful green rice fields in june and great to see people harvesting by hand in november, very traditional, also some nice stuppas to visit worth it
The city of Mukdahan is very quite and the people are very friendly. Situtated along the Kok river is a good opportunity to see the rive and the border of Laos.
It is a small Thai Issan city which is near to the Friendship bridge to Laos, it has nothing to demand a visit to the city.
Small town not a really interesting place for casual visitors but the Friendship bridge to Loas is there and it is nice to see the Mekong river when it is in full flow.
