Where to stay in Napier
Napier hotels & accommodations

If you’re going to stay in the Art Deco city of Napier, there’s no better hotel to stay. I had the single room, which although quite small, had everything I needed. Breakfast was great. I presonally enjoyed the choices on the a la Carter menu over the buffet. Would stay there again if I were to visit Napier again.

The best value for money of any motel have stayed at in New Zealand. Chose a unit without a view since it was cheaper and only staying one night. Were amazed at size and amenities. Large separate lounge with a single bed to the side, kitchenette with microwave and hot plates, separate bathroom with shower, large separate double bedroom with big circular spa. On the wa...

Don't be put off by reviews criticising the parking. Yes, there are limited spaces but the worse that can happen is you pay 5 NZ dollars to park right across the street. We had a very comfortable stay at a reasonable price in this hotel. Super comfy bed, quiet air conditioning and very good wifi signal. The hotel is also attached to Portofino Italian restaurant and is...

The hotel was lovely, we stayed in the old Heritage section of the hotel one night which had the old world charm including chandelier and working gas log fire. We also spent one night in the new section of the hotel. The room was like brand new, very clean with comfortable King bed. The hotel is well placed for restaurants and the boutique 47 seat theatre showing all ...

Hotel was big enough for 4 pax. We have a group of 12 and we booked for 3 rooms. The hotel located at very strategic place which near to boardwalk as well as eateries. We have a pleasant stay at Navigate and will definitely recommend to friends or come back for a stay if dropby Napier in future.

We had a great stay at the beach front motel as the name suggests we were located right at the beach front. Shops cafes and restaurants were only a short walk away. The rooms were excellent comfy beds and clean facilities. Staff were also very friendly and helpful with anything we needed. We would definitely recommend staying here and would stay again if we return to N...

This is the second time we have been to this hotel, on this trip we spent two nights at the Scenic on our way to Auckland. As usual the service was good the room are large and each one has great views across the bay to Cape Kidnappers. There is no other hotel in Napier to match its location and hospitality.

Located along Kennedy Road, which is the major thoroughfare into Napier's CBD and Marine Parade and just a short distance from the Napier - Hastings Expressway entry ramp, the motel is very well located for those who have their own transportation. The décor of the cabins may be dated and in need of renovation, but at the price, one should not complain. The ability ...

Our mid-February stay here coincided with for the start of Napier's 'Art Deco' weekend. The town was immersed in the `30's. Historic cars and their owners dressed in period were everywhere. It was Napier's annual spotlighted weekend. Needless to say when I was trying to book lodging months in advance, there was nary a place to stay. I was lucky to book the last room fa...

The property was exactly as it was described The Location was where we wanted to be The staff were friendly The owner was delightful The only shadow was the Internet was not working which caused one of our team challenges because she needed to be in touch with her family over a hospital appointment Would recommend people to use this property

We enjoyed our stay in Napier, The motel staff were friendly and helpful. However the furniture was rather dated and there was a lot of noise for some time from adjacent rooms. We were some distance from the wonderful Art Deco town centre but parking was not too difficult.

I loved it. It was one of the best I've stayed in and has good facilities. Great atmosphere, it was QUIET and not a backpackers for partygoers (hurray), and very, very clean. The manager Soo was such a dear, really helpful and friendly. The free and fast WiFi made me a very happy and well connected traveller. This hostel has such value for money. I wish I could bring t...

quest napier hotel located right in the middle of the town centre. there are many nice restaurants and cafe just at a stone throw away from the hotel. the rooms were very clean and well decorated. the staffs of the hotel are very friendly and helpful, especially towards making sure that your stay is a good one. i also find that it was nice to have a reading room ri...

We booked a queen studio - disability access room and were pleased to find it actually had a king sized bed not a queen. It was a very hot day in Napier and were appreciative that the staff had turned on the aircon so our room was cool on arrival. Great location with a bar & restaurant on site or a short walk to the Thirsty Whale and GinTrap. Would definitely stay agai...

Overnighted in Napier on our way to Wellington. The receptionist was lovely and showed us to our small cabin in the back lot. It had everything we needed - king bed, kitchen, large shower with amazing water pressure and sky tv on a good sized tv. The econo lodge has an Asian restaurant and a bistro pub on site. We didn’t try the bistro, but the food looked good when we...

Nice place with good Internet connection but... Don't choose the cheapest dorm with window facing the 'balcony' with bbq. People smoke there so smoke goes inside the room. People talk/drink/party there so don't expect it to be quiet. Beds are also not that comfy. You can feel all the springs. It gets really hot inside as the fan is barely working or not working at...

Stayed two nights. Very close to the function we were attending in Taradale and nice and close to Napier. Very clean and well presented. Online booking was easy and hosts where brilliant. Will definately put this at the top of our list should we need to stay in Tamatea/Taradale/Napier. Cheers

The motel room was very well presented and well equipped for a self service stay. The kitchen facilities were very good and it was a pleasure preparing breakfast and dinner in the room. Laundry facilities are satisfactory and alhotugh the dryer was not working, there was a clothes line on which to dry clothes. Sadly, the manager has a little difficulty appreciating tha...

Room comfortable It may have changed our decision to book if we’d known the 2 motel style rooms were actually part of a backpackers . This caused no problems for our stay but the backpackers appeared tired. But then again maybe they all do. However being a backpackers we did get our washing done - a plus after 7 days on the road. Staff were extremely helpful and our ...

I would like to express a hearty thank you to husband and wife team operating this hotel who had a very 'make yourself at home' approach towards their guests. It was nice to be part of a more homely setting. The room was great as were all the usual amenities including- for the room I booked - the separate bathroom and jacuzzi bath. Breakfast was very generous and cooke...

We stayed here for 2 nights, apart from the 2 cockroaches found in the bathroom and pillows smelling of damp clothing, it was a good stay. Best part is the price per night and location in which the place is situated in and is accessible to most parts of Hawkes Bay.

This motel is situated in the outer suburbs of Napier. The surroundings are very pleasant and contribute to the quiet ambience of the motel. Although a suburban property, it is hot all that far from Napier locales if you have a car. The public transports seems to be a bit wanting in the city so independent transport is necessary. The staff are very friendly and welco...

The hosts at Gardner Court Motel were really nice and welcoming. They recommended very nice places to visit in Napier and also provided great details of places to eat. Staff here are friendly and happy to share recommendations for wineries and restaurants. Rooms are spacious and well maintained with a large bathroom and a well provisioned kitchenette (quality coffee and plunger!). Beds are comfortable with lots of big, soft pillows and crisp sheets. This is by far one of the most magical and beautiful places we have stayed at in New Zealand. Brin and Biddy are lovely hosts and made us feel very welcome. This hotel is clean, comfortable, modern, in an excellent location, as well as having first class staff. I stayed here last week and was looked after very well. Always a friendly face with a "can do" a...

I really enjoyed visiting and staying in Napier, it was nice and sunny with a great vibe. I enjoyed sigh seeing and loved all of the artdeco around the place with lovely gardens :-)
Unfortunately we arrived in very bad weather. Wind and rain. However managed to walk around city to view the art deco buildings.
Unique NZ art deco town, not a copy of the European style but rather a local variant. The steep walk to the look out is a bit of a let down though.
We were on a trip of New Zealand from north of Auckland to Queenstown in the south. Napier was definitely one of the best places of the trip.
Having lived in the city many years ago, I enjoy returning to see how the place has developed in all areas - its a joy to come back to Napier
Well, only reason to stay at NAPIER is mainly because of the vineyard around the vicinity. Other than that nothing much to do
Napier is a charming Art Deco themed city in the Hawkes Bay region of the North Island of New Zealand.
This is a vibrant city and retains a feeling of safe and secure for visitors. The pace in the CBD is slower than elsewhere and that is something special and it encourages one to relax and enjoy.
Visit the vineyards of Napier & surrounding area as the wines are a fruity alternative to some of your usual oaky & crisp whites.
