"Issues's checking in but sorted. Be aware that commercial laundry operates out of the car park, a little weird but just take it easy driving in and out. Also there are two buildings, spent some time going round the back building when I was in the front! haha. Rooms are smaller than they appear in the photo's but well appointed. Make sure water is turned on when using the washing machine. Room really needed a good dusting, dust behind the tv, top of the dryer and the louvres were absolutely filthy, not a biggie just not a great look. Good location but if in the front building you maybe encounter some noise as people depart the pub up the road. "

"The room was clean and modern and nice and spacious. I had read other reviews and noted that it was quiet. I did however get the front room so I did hear the street noise and there were some loud groups going down the street at night. I would stay again, but I would ask for a room off the street. Beaumont Street is very busy and bustling, but it was close to the water and restaurants on Honeysuckle Ave and close to the main centre of Newcastle - Hunter street. The only parking is in the surrounding streets, but I didn't have any trouble getting a park close by when I arrived about 5:30pm on a week night. "

However, charging $20 per day for parking is over the top when free on street parking is available from 5pm-9am."

I didn't have a problem with that, but some visitors may struggle. Anyway, it's worth persisting and the Star Hotel next door is great for a nice evening in too!"
