A nice city for relaxation and shopping. There is a large shopping compound in TianYi District, you can find a lot of famous fashion shops there.
And the seafood in this city is quite good and cheap too. Only a few people are walking on the street or local parks during the working hour, quite different from Shanghai, which is an international "crowdy" city. The weather in Ningbo is not very good tho, I stayed at there for 3 days and the sun didn't say hi to me once.
Small city with limited things to do unless you drive. Tianyi square and hotel surroundings are places to walk about for food and minimal shopping.
i can say Ningbo's city development is not too equal, some place in the center is highly developed while the other places is not well developed.
Do survey before you go to Ningbo, so by the time you arrive and spend holiday here, you know exactly where to go. Ningbo also have many nature attraction but it is considered pretty far from the downtown so be well prepared if you are going to nature attraction in Ningbo.
ningbo is industrial city i just go for business so i don't understand about leisure or sightseeing at ningbo :)
Very difficult to get the taxi all around in the city :((( usually need to take more than 10 mins for waiting.
Ningbo is a nice and surprisingly quiet city of around 4 million people in the urban area. Lots of nice and cheap Chinese restaurants as usual.
Hiking trips 30min-2h outside of the city are amazing!
a bit disappointed about this historic city. the old city almost gone. you can find some old compounds around the Zhongshan Park.
the Ningbo bund is over-renovated. very cluttered.
Ningbo - and Sofitel Wanda Hotel - is a great way to end our 18 day China trip. The city offers a more relaxed and casual atmosphere without compromising on the vibrancy and energy of shopping and the nightlife.
The people are calmer and more relaxed. I also love the fact that there is no trace of traffic jam during our stay.
Nice city all round , book transportation in advance - especially train travel have travel cheque or cash (RMB or US$ ) as local shops & restaurants no accept overseas credit cards
As I stay in Suzhou, Jiangsu. Ningbo is like a new city with fast level of development, many transportation facilities may not so good.
People are not so polite and I rarely see foreigners, foreigners may be strangers to local people. Rich Ningbo inhabitants are fashionable and good-looking. Apart from shopping, seafood is the thing visitors can enjoy Ningbo is close to many historical sites, residence of famous people in the past, etc.
An industrial city that has grown a lot. Hotels near the airport are no good. You have to stay downtown
