"Yes, it was labor day weekend. Yes, we were way overcharged for the quality of the room. Yes, we kept our shoes on at all times because the room felt that dirty. Yes, the non-smoking room smelled like a humid musty bar. Yes, we woke up with congestion from our stay. Yes, we felt like sleeping in our car would've been a better option. All in all, unless you are covered in grease, dirt, or sweat and your car is broke down in the Days Inn parking lot, I would keep driving as fast as you can to find somewhere that takes care of their business and has their customers comfort in mind. 2 stars max overall rating . "If you're familiar with the Lake of The Ozarks area, Margaritaville is the resort formerly known as Tan-Tar-A. Under the new ownership the resort has a design and branding facelift. As of summer of 2019, they are about 80% rebranded, once in a while I still saw old Tan-Tar-A signage or some hallways with dated carpet. But lobby, restaurants, and common areas have all been updated. The biggest change is they removed all the bungalows surrounding the main pool and built a tiki bar and lakeshore Landshark restaurant with decks, small beach, and infinity pool bar. Despite the changes it remains VERY family friendly and has a huge indoor water park for the kids and a waterslide near the main pool and tiki bar. I can't speak for the rooms in the lodge itself but the junior suites located in the six unit buildings along the water were updated, clean, comfortable and quiet. Great views of the sunsets. Staff was very responsive and friendly. Easy family getaway from the St Louis Metro."
