"nice clean hotel with frienly staff but the lift is way too far behind from the lobby. corridor via restaurant is a bit narrow so if you're with big bag, take the left corridor (via surau). one lighting power switch that control lighting switch and power plug switch in a room. so if you switch off this lighting switch at night the plug then your tv is off too!!! as for food, fast food outlet (cfc) is infront of hotel and a 'padang food shop' nearby. within a walking distant (600m) is a shoping paradise where everything is sold here. with hundred of shops.... just choose what you want but then price is bit expensive compare to bukitinggi. angkutan is just outside if you're tired after shopping. overall i recomended this hotel if shopping is on your list."

"Good budget hotel in Padang. Room is very good. It is spacious enough for a budget hotel, and quite comfortable. Swimming pool is quite small, and location is quite outside the hotel, but it is one of few place that got a pool on the hotel. Breakfast is not complete and not very good. Staff is quite friendly, but does not show exceptional service level. It is still good though. Location is good."

"Stayed for 2 nights at Padang for business meetings. This was my first time go to Padang, quite disappointed with the "tourist hunter" at the airport that offers you to transport from the airport to the city (took around 45mins trip from airport to city) they're totally annoying and giving unpleasant glare. Then I made a call to Mercure hotel for pick-up, in less than 10 mins, their stand-by driver at the airport pick me up for transport to hotel, the driver is very kind and friendly. For fellow travelers who are have never visit padang before or got no one to pick you up, I really recommend Mercure Padang, fast check-in and check-up. Mercure makes you feel secure and less worried about being scammed by those "tourist hunters" at the airport. They have convinience store near the lobby, so it was easy to buy snacks, beers, or drinks. Oh yeah, they always have BlueBird Taxi ready for transports (One of the best and reliable taxi company in Indonesia). I will surely stay at Mercure for my upcoming business meetings in Padang. 4 thumbs up! "

"We tried several hotels in Padang as well as in Bukittinnggi. After experiencing these hotels, we came to the conclusion that Grand Inna Muara is the best hotel in Padang. These are the reasons - surprisingly it offered the lowest price inclusive of breakfast than its competitors; friendly receptions, concierge available to help you with the luggage, very spacious lobby, really big dining hall, nice and acceptable room condition, location is perfect just cross the road you will see the 2009 Earthquake Monument dedicated to those who had perished, next to it is a vast area of Padang Minangkabau Heritage Palace. You can walk to the Muara and see the many boats and cruise ships and the many priceless Dutch heritage residentials left unattended. Plenty of places to eat. Parking is easy. There is a good feeling of space and not feel congested. We enjoyed it very much and we have made a decision should we comes back to Padang, it will be the hotel we are going to stay."

"Pros : Comfortable bed, working AC, lots of clear tv channel, walking distance to nearby eateries. Cons : No trash bin provided in room, the towels wasn’t ready in the room, poor hygiene as you can see some dirts on bedsheet & in toilet, no body wash provided except for body lotion & toothbrush set which is for one person only in a double room, inconsistent rooms as we got one deluxe double room & normal double room when we act booked normal double room. The ambience of the hotel is quite scary at night as the lights are quite dimmed. It’s a decent place to crash for a short one night stay but not for 2 nights or more. "

"This is a new hotel, one of the main reasons I'm giving it a try against the recommendation of a local. The room is ok and new (of course), but a number of things are not to my liking. 1) The flooring within the room and outside at the aisle on each floor. As it is tiled with no carpet, it is the worse combination when patrons wear its provided in-house slippers. Every now and then, you can here the dragging sounds of slippers when there's someone walking outside. 2) There's no electronic doorbell but a kind of a pendulum hanging at the door. This cause it to knock and sound every time the door is open/close. Also, the closing of the door is very loud, especially a nuisance at night. 3) There's no shower curtain. While showering itself was good, the consequence is a partly wet restroom overflowing to the toilet bowl area. 4) The lobby is a little messy especially during the breakfast as the lounge is right beside the check in/out counter. And the direction of the hotel facing close to east means that if you are waiting for pickup at the lobby in the morning, you are faced with frontal sunlight directly since the lobby is glass protected ... again without curtains. 5) I asked for laundry bag, but was told it is "sold off". Didn't know we need to actually purchase a laundry bag?? 6) Breakfast variety not much, there's only about 5 or 6 food trays/bins for main course, and this includes one for rice and another for mee/noodles. 7) Hotel aisles are not air-conditioned, and it becomes stuffy in the afternoon. Now, these are not so much of a complaint, but in general a feedback. I rated the hotel fairly well. However, why do I have so much feedback? Simply because I had tried another hotel at Padang right before I checked in to Amaris Padang. Perhaps, Amaris would be better run over the months since they are still in its infancy just after opening for a month or so."
