The place is too far from Manila- if you are travelling by land. You need to spend at least 2 to 3 nights in the area, to be able to appreciate what the place has to offer.
It is a great place to relax and enjoy nature. I salute the local people in Pagudpud because they really help in preserving the environment and nature.
They do understand that the beautiful place that they live in is a great source of their income. You can't see garbage thrown by tourists because the locals are strict on tourist policies. The tricycle drivers, guides and locals are so friendly that if they are your tour guide they will even take your pictures. I think most of the tour guides do that there. They are so friendly and trustworthy. We even left our luggage with our tour guide/driver and everything is intact after the tour. I adore Pagudpud. I want to go back there and stay longer hehe.
Places to see are saud beach or blue lagoon, patapat viaduct, windmills, rock formation, lighthouse and some waterfalls
For a popular beach destination it is very quiet. Dont expect night life. Might be best if you cook your own food.
Being an Ilocana, the food is average for my taste. A little below my grandmother's cooking. For restaurants, try to ask if they require reservation. We were not able to try any as it was easier to find off the hole carinderias
It was far but your stay will be worthwhille. Good sightseeing, very nice beaches, friendly people and good food.
Pagudpud is still a quiet place - untouched by the modernity. It's rustic and it's best known for it's beaches.
There are also other attractions such as waterfalls and other nature related features but you have to be ready to "rough it" just a bit... There are very few establishments that can process credit cards and ATMs are extremely rare - be sure you have cash on hand...
If you are going to Ilocos, you should definitely go to Pagudpud where the best sights of Ilocos are situated.
Its beauty is raw and unspoiled. Nature at its best.
Pagudpud is a very nice place but it should be budget friendly also if they want to attract tourists.
Most tourists like the scenery but they also like to get a good deal especially for food. Food in the hotel is so expensive and you don't even have a choice.
