Where to stay in Palenque
Palenque hotels & accommodations
The hotel is located at a 5 min walk away from the Bus station. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. The food was excellent. The staff was always attentive and courteous. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone. It has all the comforts and amenities the your average traveler might need and more. The public transportation that takes you to Palenque stops right ...
Great little cabanas with nice jungle setting. Private baths with hot water. Located a bit out of town on the same road to the ruins. The staff was awesome! Rene was incredibly helpful and great to chat witg. Overall great stay. Would possibly consider your own transportation, we rented a scooter in town. Although a taxi ride is quick and cheap.
It was great, I think this would be a better place with a groceries store and with wifi connection, but in the overall is good, great place to be
Nice hotel with a convienant location. Most excursions are out of the main town area, so you either need your own transport or book a tour. The town itself has plenty of typical tourists shops and lots of choices to eat. The hotel was clean, had nice hot water and breakfast included. Wifi was very spotty, bus was strong in the lobby where breakfast was served.
Very good lcoation, on the way to the archeological site while still 5mn by "combi" to Palenque downtown and Las Canadas. Great pool and rooms with a feeling to be right in the middle of the jungle. Recent A/C. Good restaurant and rapid checkin/out. My only remark would be about the level of Englis hofthe staff, sometimes insufficient.
Located right across from ADO. The colllectivos to the ruinas stop by the road close by, just ask the friendly and helpful hotel staff for directions. Bed was comfortable, room size was great. This is a real good value for your money.
This hostel is a perfect place and relax after a long day of exploring the ruins and other sights. it is super clean with large lockers to store your things. the Air conditioner works well. The hostel is located at a 5 minute walk from the main ADO bus station and a 10 minute walk from the centro.
Nice hotel. Reasonably priced. Only downside is it is noisy from other guests and early morning staff (0530) talking loudly. There is also noise from nearby music bars until the early hours. But the hotel itself is fine.
Nice place with a good localisation, the staff are nice. But cold shower with a trickle of water.
We arrived after our visit at the archeological zone, we checked in fast, then the staff gave us a welcome drink. After put our staff in the hotel, we went to the pool, which is sooo big and there are many hammocks around the pool. We visited the parrots, they were so nice... So globally we had a very pleasant stay at Ciudad Real!
just 5 minutes away from ado bus station. when you visit palenque ruins, you will take a small van which locates 2 minutes away from the hotel. be sure to ask the receptionist for where to take the van. the hotel is clean and the staffs are friendly and they granted us early check-in without charging more money. the hotel fee is paid at the front desk in local currency...
The rooms are nice and beautifully situated in pavilions in a beautiful garden area. The pool is big and nicely set surrounded by trees. Palenque ruins are just a short hitchhike away – just hale down one of the minibuses that commute between town and the ruins. The only downside was the restaurant. The food was not great and expensive. Especially the lack of real Mexi...
The beds were comfortable but it was not very clean, we had a serious moth problem. Everyday there would lie literally 30-40 dead moths on our floor, where did they come from? The rooms were pretty expensive for what you got.
Conveniently situated in Palenque, within walking distance of the ADO bus station and collectivo minibuses. Easy to get to the Maya archaeological site by minibus (20 pesos each). The hotel is clean and comfortable and serves an excallent breakfast of fresh fruit, cereals, toast and coffee. Friendly reception and chambermaids. Same day laundry service. Slight problem w...
Your best bet if you want to stay near Palenque. Other options don't even come close.
The hotel is very nice. It's a 5min walk from the ADO bus station...the rooms are spacious..there is hot water..and a nice pool on the grounds. The only thing is that for $25 a night (double room with private bathroom), you can definitely find cheaper in the town. If money is not an issue for you, then I would highly recommend this place!
This hotel is excellent value. It is situated in a lovely, quiet, leafy area, which is just around the corner from the lively town centre. The rooms are very comfortable and clean...with great water pressure in the bathroom! It would be hard to find better value than this in Palenque.
Unfortunately it wasn't the best. We did get food poisoning which wasn't great and made our stay less enjoyable. They didn't serve dinner which wasn't great as was quite remote. Breakfast was nice though. Make sure you close your suitcases as I had a moth lay eggs in mine! However what did I expect being in the Jungle
This place is very basic. Concrete pad was the bed base, which made for an extremely hard bed. They advertised hot water, but it wasn't really. And we had cockroaches. But it was closer to everything.
This was way nicer than expected, one of the cleanest rooms I've stayed in in Mexico. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was large. Would definitely recommend staying here.
The thing that let this place down the most is that on 3 occasions we asked reception for help and were all but ignored, not good enough for the price you are paying!
Helpful staff, clean & spacious room but location can come across as dodgy if you're a solo female traveller since it's off the main roads (less street lights) and a good 15 to 20-minute walk to the main square. The ADO bus stop is easy to reach, though.

Real reviews for hotels
Palenque gets an indifferent write up in Lonely Planet, but it's an authentic little town with a bustling zocalo (town centre square).
Pallenque is a very small and rather unattractiv town. Only the sites outside the city like the cascades, the waterfall and the Maja site is definitely worth seeing!
