One of the best city in states that I ever visited. The city planning is excellent and lots of activities to explore from culture to shopping.
Philadelphia is a secret gem for the traveller. There is a lot to see and do but the pace is more leisurely than New York or even Washington.
Getting around is easy, and it is not as dear as New York.Shopping is good with a great central market which is an experience in itself. If you are into history Philadelphia is the place to go.
When it comes to historical sites, Philadelphia can't be beat. Very informative trips to the Independence Park area and the Rangers that lead the tours are very friendly and knowledgeable.
The line to see the Liberty Bell was way too long (it was a very nice day out that day) so we decided to skip that. To visit the Independence Hall, get your tickets at the Visitor Center a block over. There's a sign up front that tickets aren't required in January and February so I'm assuming not a lot of people visit that time of year. It might be a good idea to try and see the Liberty Bell then. There are a lot of very nice museums in Philly, and plenty of beautiful public art such as sculptures and murals. Food-wise, there's the famous Philly Cheesesteak at Pat's or Gino's. Restaurants and taverns are usually quite good. I had scrapple for the first time- that alone is worth going back to Philly for!
Philadelphia is an historical city with may Irish traditionals. Old and new types of buildings can bee seen.
Huge convention centre can cater for more than 30000 people.
Nice city with so many historical sites of USA. Visit also the campus of University of Pennsylvania.
Philadelphia is first and foremost a city, so if you don't like traffic and crowded places it might not be for you.
It is packed with history from America's early years and lots of sights to see, so it's a great place to plan a recreational visit. There are many institutions of higher learning and a lot happening in the city. Like any city it also has some dirty and not so friendly looking neighborhoods. I enjoyed it and would like to go back and explore some more.
the city has lots of history and character and old classy buildings like the museum of arts built in 1929 and city hall and the liberty bell and building that saw the signing of the declaration of independence and it was the capital of the USA so I guess it is worth the trip for sure
