We just came back from spending ten nights at Centara Grand and this place is going to hold a special place in my heart for a very long time. I don't think our time in Thailand would have been as enjoyable if it weren't for staying here. The staff are the sweetest and most genuine people I have ever come across and I was sad to leave because of them. The resort itself is right on a private strip of beach and is in a lovely quiet area with spectacular cliftop views - if you don't mind a small walk. The buffet breakfast was the best I've ever had, with such a selection and changes made each day. The resort holds many free daily activities and honestly, if you were looking for a resort holiday without even having to leave the property - this would be the place to stay. There was so much to see in Phuket but I would happily stay here without seeing any of it because the resort in intself is so wonderful.

first trip to thailand - july 2012. travelled as a group of four - 2 couples in our mid-20s had such a lovely time at graceland! the staff are just beautiful and very helpful! really impressed. the hotel pool was amazing. so many pools around the hotel to swim in. never over crowded or busy. pool bar is the best invention ever! met and hung out with lots of other travellers and loved our daily arvo happy hour sessions in the pool. ate at both restaurants - great food! buffet breakfast each morning was a highlight. kid and adult friendly - recommend both families and group of mates/couples to stay. enrolled in a cooking class at the hotel. group of 10 people in the class. cooked 4 different thai dishes from scratch and got to eat our creations together in our small group. very organised and i highly recommend it to any foodies out there. location of hotel is ideal. it is literally opposite patong beach, only a ten minute walk to all the shops, markets and night life. felt really safe going out at night to and from the hotel. security around the building and in the building. but far away enough from the night life hub to not hear any noise and sleep soundly. before booking our trip to thailand, i spent a fair bit of time checking out a lot of hotels aroud patong. i chose this one based on reviews from people i knew who had stayed here, reviews on the internet and from just looking at the hotel site itself. honestly, it met and exceeded my expectations and i truly think if your planning a trip to phuket/patong this is the hotel to book. would definitely stay here again and no where else.

banyan tree phuket is a super high-end resort that provided us a luxurious, very comfortable and tranquil stay with excellent service. the staff was always very attentive and helpful, providing directions to local conveniences, booking and communicating with the taxi cab drivers. we had a wonderful experience here on our honeymoon and really enjoyed our relaxing stay. the rooms are gorgeous and very comfortable, with a private jacuzzi/hot tub in the backyard. the facilities were very clean, the pool was terrific and the resort itself very scenic, with a private beach. staff cleaned our rooms twice a day and we received a 2 for 1 special at the spa. the spa treatment was much more expensive than most of phuket but by american standards, fairly priced for great service received. breakfast buffet was amazing, with all sorts of local and fresh thai foods, vegetables, fruits and juices. despite being a little far (25-30 minutes from the airport by taxi and 45 minutes from patong), we highly recommend banyan to any honeymooners or couples looking for a romantic get-away, nested away from hectic tourist areas but close enough where you still get that exposure. just note that phuket is twice as pricey as other cities so this will not be the cheap thailand getaway you usually hear about.

Bell boys, receptionists, Rooms Division Director who even met us and welcomed us to the beautiful Hotel, restaurant staff, cleaning ladies. Check-in and check-out easy and personalized. Excellent facilities even for kids, beautiful and spotless room, nice gym and the best breakfast we had in Phuket, we stayed in other 5 star Hotels before Mai House but I really wanted to try this Hotel because of the excellent reviews and I am so glad I did. Next time I go back to Phuket will be just to stay the whole stay at Mai House. Extremely recommended to anyone. Location is on Patong Hill so 5 minutes from the center with beautiful views of the sea. You should try their cocktails at the Mai Sky Bar while enjoying the sunset!

The eat all you can at night was value for money. This place is close to Bangla Rd. which is the centre of attraction when the night comes in Phuket. The Staff were very friendly, they make up your room daily and a beautiful atmosphere around the hotel at night time. I would stay there again if I go back to Phuket, highly recommended and value for money.

I have stayed @ many hotels in Phuket, but I have to say this Hotel is the most newest.Staff are really friendly, nothing is to much trouble for them. I have stayed @ many hotels in Phuket, but I have to say this Hotel is the most newest.Staff are really friendly, nothing is to much trouble for them. Location is great, but as I said Lakeside has no shortcut entry-exit to shopping mall after 10.00pm. Whereas Beachside has easy entry-exit 24 hrs to Jungceylon, which is a nice modern shopping centre, But I had just come from Chiang Mai so I noticed many more promotions in the Robinson's Department store there than Phuket. Many sales of 20% discount in Chiang Mai compared to Phuket. If you're smart you do shopping @ Bangkok, or Chiang Mai. The only thing is every Robinsons doesn't have all the same Brands & styles in all stores. Phuket Town cheaper, but same thing, don't have all same styles. If you have time you should stop off 2 days @ Bangkok & check out what you like and then compare. And on the return flight home ,stop off @ Bangkok to do your shopping. It's probably a 400-500mtr walk to Patong Beach from the Hotel, but I found the pool @ the hotel more than adequate. I would say if you take the children,it's a great hotel, If you want a little more quite ambiance, then don't stay on school holidays. I would'nt say it was really noisy, but if you want a quite time, maybe don't stay in Poolside rooms. I would give this Hotel a 4 star rating.

Just when I was beginning to feel jaded about Phuket, a weekend at The Naka Phuket has changed my perspective. I can only describe The Naka Phuket as simply spectacular. While many hotels in Phuket (or around the world) call themselves luxury and being a 5-star standard (almost 80% failed to live up to the standard!), The Naka Phuket, even though it is still half completed, has lived up, if not exceeded, its reputation being a truly luxury hotel. A hotel that I would ranked alongside the likes of Alila Uluwatu in Bali. Located in a secluded part of Phuket on the west coast, The Naka Phuket has its own private beach (clean, white sand), a large infinite swimming pool, a decent well-equipped gym, a beautifully constructed dining area (food was fantastic even as simple as pizzas)…last but not least - stunning and spacious pool side villas. My villa has all the state-of-the-art equipments, a balcony offering stunning view of the sea, comfortable king-size bed, full access wifi reception, indoor/outdoor shower areas, decent size villa pool. You can only wonder in awe by the architect who designed these villas. Have to mention the extremely helpful and friendly staff at the hotel (especially Komon, Ying and the restaurant staff), they were always eager to help, wearing a big smile while attending to your needs. This is what deepens the memory of a great hotel, the people. I simply cannot wait for the hotel to be completed - the Naka Phuket has simply raised the bar! P.S. there are several hotels with the name "naka" attached to it, make sure it is The Naka Phuket.

We stayed at SALA as part of celebrating our anniversary. Phuket was last destination in our Thailand trip and we had inconvenient timings in terms of check and check out. Guess services were exceptional and they went great length to help us check in early and checkout late. The check-in process literally took 5 min including 2 min walk to the villa :) The villa probably has better privacy than any city apartment, resort design is seems to be mix of simplicity and elegance, yet it has all amenities you may need from a beachfront resort. We experienced exceptional service from every employee such as reception, restaurant etc. We are vegetarians and restaurant staff was prompt to identify that and provided a vegetarian menu. Food was tasteful and my favorite is their breakfast, pan cakes were absolute divine. We booked vehicle from resort to see different places in phuket and our trip came to a beautiful end because of this decision. Although resort may charge little higher price it is well worth to book from them. Firstly you have lot more security of your stuff in the car, our driver was very knowledgeable and they will be more than willing to help you since hotel reputation is at stake. Finally travelling by resort’s vehicles helped us to keep thugs away. Resort is at unexplored beach in phuket so do not expect sports activities or buzzing crowds or shops at this beach. This is best suitable for couples like us who wish to unwind and have peaceful romantic time. Enjoy there!!

Helpful, friendly and took care of our every need from transport from in-resort tuktuk to check out We stayed for 5 days and 4 nights in a Pool Suite. The view was incredible! Best ever. Baba nest has the best view in Phuket period. DO reserve in advance though - was not informed of this by the hotel management until we arrived and they told us that it was fully booked for the entire time we were there (would've been nice if was informed beforehand) Food was also incredible at BABA SOUL FOOD - ate there 3 nights in a row! The chef there is really talented. Avoid Baba Chino though - took expensive and mediocre taste. Good job Sri Panwa team! Best villa experience ever. (We have stayed at The Shore Katathani before and this place beats that place flat) A must stay, worth every freakin baht. Oh and FREE MINIBAR WITH FREE BEER !(never heard of this before) --> amazing

U Zenmaya Phuket Resort is the best place to stay while in Phuket, Thailand. It is located a few kilometers away from Patong Beach, overlooking the Andaman Sea and Patong Bay. And the views are simply breath-taking. Imagine waking up everyday to the picturesque view of the Andaman Sea and Patong Bay is truly amazing. Definitely paradise right from your room. I understand all of the rooms in the hotel take advantage of this magnificent scenery -- even the resort's restaurant, pool area and lounge bar have amazing views as well. This is definitely one of the resort's strongest point. And should you decide to go to Patong Beach to check out the night life or do some shopping, transportation is not a problem. The resort has free shuttle service to Jungceylon Mall in Patong Beach twice a day. Would have been better if there's pick-up service back to the hotel.. but going back to the hotel or getting around the area isn't really a problem as there are a lot of taxis and tuk-tuks plying the area, even at night or even in the wee hours of the morning. We got the Junior Suite Seaview Pool Access which comes with 1 Hour Spa treatment for 2 persons per stay. Truly, great value for money! The resort staff are ever friendly, helpful and speak & understand English very well. Kudos to the resort's F&B Manager Pom who made my friend's birthday extra special by whipping up a surprise creme brulee birthday "cake" during our stay... and to Chef Garfield who make sure everything was ok and checked too see if we have the best stay possible in the resort. Definitely, highly recommended for those who want to get the best of the both what Patong Beach has to offer and the best of a 5-star resort!!!

Unbeatable 5 star resort on Phuket. Booked a 1 bedroom sea view, but upon arrival found out they upgraded us to a 2 bedroom penthouse. 150m2 appartment with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and 60m2 rooftop balcony. State of the art equiped with 3 lcd tv's, and 4 airconditioning units. Swimming pool great and restaurant excellent as well. The restaurant is relatively expensive, but that seems to be the trend for hotel-restaurants everywhere in Thailand. 2 minor points of criticism: - Each bed had 4 pillows, but all are of the same type. Rather hard and thick, while feathered pillows should be the standard. - The sea on this side of Phuket is not really made for swimming. Sand is very coarse and water shallow up to 300 meters from the shore. Keep in mind that these minor downsides are close to neglectable. We spend 1 month in Thailand, and stayed exclusively in 5 star accomodations, of which none came close to the Serenity Resort

One of the best experience you will get in the pool. The staff are awesome, starting from the concierge to the housekeeping staff everyone is friendly. Specially the reception team, they are very helpful and understanding. And not to forget ‘Funnie’(receptionists), she is the star of the hotel. The moment we checked-in we were greeted and welcomed by her in a very professional manner. Very good communication skills and very good spoken English. Helped us in all possible ways she can and also recommended some places for sightseeing. I really would love to see ‘Funnie’ welcoming me in my next trip to The Marina Phuket Hotel. Will surely visit again and recommend this hotel to everyone visiting Phuket.

Staff are friendly and helpful. Location is good as it is right on Patong beach but away from the main hum drum of Patong. Several bars, restaurants are walking distance. Internet is free but of moderate strength. Almost most hotels in Phuket say free wifi, but signal strength and internet speed is not upto the mark.

We were looking for a private villa with the service of a 5 star hotel and we found it at the Anantara Phuket hotel. The villas opening to a private pool are beautiful and everything is made for the guests to have a splendid time, away from everything. We plan to go back there to relive the paradise feel...

The hotel is located on a steep hill but they provide a shuttle service that runs every 5 mins. We never had to wait for a shuttle service. We used the pool several times and it was clean and enjoyable. The pools are a little small but there are three to chose from. We stayed in a ocean view jacuzzi room which was a special internet (AGODA SPECIAL) price. The in room jacuzzi was large enough for a couple and had hot / cold water. The bed was firm but that is typical of all Phuket hotels.

We were welcomed by Viren and the rest of the staff. They made us feel very special and welcoming. The resort is out of this world. It is amazing. When it is finished it will be 7 stars. We were really lucky VIren gave us villa 1103 it's on the the highest point meaning extra privacy. My husband could sunbed nude on our private lounge area next to our private infinity pool. Yes private infinity pool overlooking the clearest water in Thailand. On the other side all you see is a natural tropical forest. It truly is a special place. The food was good, the best part was the breakfast. Simply divine and overlooking the beach what more could you ask for. Staff were always attentive and friendly. The manager of the resort introduced himself to us. And treated m husband to another cocktail because they used the wrong sugar in the first one. We were not omplaining the first cocktail was perfect but the manager wanted it to be right. So they go out of their way to help and make yor stay special . Happy hour was cheap and you can actually taste the ingredients and the alcohol. Another highlight was the spa. They have spa happy hour. Who is not going to take that up. My husband and I booked foot massages during happy hour we got free back massages. I was in heaven my therapist Sao was just wonderful, Andy had Pa or was it Sa, not sure of the name. But they really looked after us. I can not fault it. I would love to return in a couple of years when the deluxe suits are finished. Which leaves me to wonder how amazing they will be because the suits there now are out of this world. Perfect for romance. I miss it there. Forever in my thoughts. Only two cons, the hotel transfer only happens twice a day, that's not good enough. Also it is pricey, cheaper if you take the hotel transfer too. Second thing, Tiny lizards also love the villas. They are harmless and the resort is next to a tropical forest so it is expected I just hate them. My husband on the other hand loved them.

I can't say enough great things about The Shore at Katathani. It's on the Southern end of Kata Noi and is the top-end of the Katathani Resort. Phuket/Patong is 20 minutes North in a cab. When we arrived, we were taken to the room in a buggy/golf cart which are at your beckoned call whenever you want it. The villa itself was BREATHTAKING. Like literally. When we opened the door and caught sight of the view, it took our breath away. It faced out over all of Kata Noi beach and the giant waves were just rolling in. With one sweep, the entire wall of windows can be retracted and you can just dip your feet into your own personal infinity pool. Perfect! One of the best parts of the resort was its food and beverage prices. They were reasonable especially which was a warm welcome. We stayed at Ritz Carlton in Phulay Bay and felt taken advantage of. We actually spent more at The Shore at Katathani because the prices were good and the food and drinks were great. Every night, the resort gave us a special treat... like a swan towel art. New fresh flowers. Tasty chocolates. One night, they put a special duvet cover on our bed that said Happy Honeymoon. (It was). The pool is one of the highlights. It's this awesomely shaped infiniti pool. Just gorgeous. Great brunch/breakfast in the mornings. There's nothing more you could want... Stay here. You will not be disappointed. It was the best hotel we stayed at in Thailand, beating out Phulay Bay Ritz Carlton and Sofitel in Bangkok. If management is reading this review: The only suggestion I have is for you to talk to your bar/pool waitstaff to be more attentive. They did not ever come around to ask if we'd like more drinks. We always had to come to the bar to ask for another round or flag our hands around to catch their eye. And also, there were times when we saw used/empty glasses just sitting on the tables for an hour or two. Just a small change and you are at perfection!!

I took a mid night flight from Hong Kong to Phuket, and I was going to participate a wedding ceremony held in Angsana Laguna Phuket Hotel on the next day evening. I requested late check in and late check out when I book the room 3 weeks before my arrival to hotel. I even sent request to the hotel through its online chatroom on their website. I receive no reply or any confirmation about the special request even till I check in at hotel. I only found that in my order, there was stated special request as Late Check in & Late check out, but the receptionist couldn't confirm it. The receptionist asked me to confirm it on the next day before the normal check out time. I was there at 03ish, I was so exhausted, I would like to have a rest till the late minutes before check out. I worried about any extra charge for the late check out. After my request of re-confirmation at the reception, finally the staff kindly offer me a late check out at 1400 on the next day. Staff are nice anyway. The hotel is beautiful, i love the poolside restaurant much. I would come again for my vacation later.

Third time to Thailand, second to Phuket, but first time with kids (4 and 6 years old) - Sunwing Bangtao was perfect for us.

My wife & I were on our honeymooon. We first stayed at Royal Paradise in Phuket and then went to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and stayed at another hotel. So we were able to compare the two hotels. By far, Royal Paradise was far superior to that other hotel in KL. The price difference was also rather stark. We paid a very low rate per night for Royal Paradise (a 4 star) and a rather high rate per night for that other hotel in KL ...also a 4 star. But the difference in room features & quality of furnishings was worlds apart. In other words, in case of Royal Paradise we got an excellent deal at a very low price. Hence we started missing our hotel in Phuket while staying in KL at the other hotel. If we make another trip to Phuket, we are quite likely to book with Royal Paradise as it's unlikely we would get such a deal & pleasant experience elsewhere.

hotel has been taken over by swissotel on 1 april - so after our original booking. we were upgraded from a 2 bed appartment to a 3 bed appartment which was enormous. also had a huge wrap around balcony as it was on the top (3rd) floor of the hotel. kitchen is basically a fridge sink and microwave so no cooker. but it's so cheap to eat oiut we didn't or wasnt going to use that anyway. pool is great and the hotel was busy for easter weekend but quieter afterwards. lots of families and extended families on holiday so wouldnt recommend for young couple. beach is literally a 5 min walk away (if that). best part of kamala beach too as it's away from the main drag. beach was beautiful and wonderful for the children. there was a tsunami alert whilst we were there and we had to evacuate - but this was just a walk up the mountain/hill behind the hotel. we were very lucky and nothing happened. however just be mindful that this could happen and think what you'd need in a grab bag - mosquito repellant - wet and dry flannels - towels to sit on - torch and your valuables and passports (not suitcase just small bag. breakfasts were wonderful withy best poached eggs made to order i've ever tasted. children ate too many of the wonderful pastries though! happy hour (2 for 1) is between 4 and 7 and includes all drinks - even childrens milkshakes so worth having one (or 2) before leaving the pool to get ready for a night out. kamala - as most of phuket is serviced by what they call the taxi mafia - just over priced taxis. grab a taxi from the airport & it's baht. try to get their number to use again if possible. if not it's baht return journey from taxis near hotel.

It was my first time to Phuket and I was conscious about where to stay, so I did my homework for 2 months beforehand. Only in the end, I decided to choose to stay in Sleep With Me. I prided myself for doing that because it is really the best hotel to stay in for those who do not want to splurge unnecessarily for luxurious 5-star hotels. The location is right in the middle of all the happenings in Phuket, yet it is very quiet at night, so I had good-night-sleeps for my 5 nights stay. The service is well-done, the breakfast is more than satisfactory and everything you need is close-by...tuk-tuks, taxis, Jungceylon shopping mall, massage and spa centres, Bangla street, 7/11, great food, hundreds of local souvenirs stalls and etc. Stay here! You won't regret!

We enjoyed every minute of our stay in Amata. We had a modern design Grand deluxe room and the view was amazing. Love the swimming pool and the staff are also friendly. The hotel is very close to Jungceylon Shopping Centre and there are many food court/Banzaan food market nearby if you want to save money. Also close to Bangla Road but still far enough from the noise of the club. Should try the "Planet Massage" just right next to the hotel on the main building. You will not miss it, as it is located right next to the swimming pool. They offer a "proper massage" and you can really fell the pressure because the masseur have good experience. The boy at the tour agent on the "RIGHT HAND SIDE" of the Planet Massage also offers the best and cheaper deal for any tour around Phuket (we have tried to look around the area and so far he always offered the best deal). The only bad experience we had in Phuket was during the airport transfer to the hotel. We paid for 130Baht per person for the mini van at the Phuket Airport to be transferred to our hotel and the driver was driving like crazy, every passenger in the van was scared. It seems that he was stress or overwork and just want to go home. but this driver was really really BAD, dangerous & rude. Very shocking..... as they still allow him to drive. The driver also stopped the van for half an hour in their company's office to offer tour package for all the passengers (C'MON....ALL OF US WERE ALREADY TIRED & it was late at 9pm from a long 10 hour flight from Oz & we just want to go straight to our hotel). I would suggest if you don't mind to pay a bit more, you can just pay for 800baht for a taxi from the agency at the airport to the hotel, OR make a booking from Amata Resort for a taxi to pick you up from the airport as the hotel also charge the same 800Baht for a taxi transfer.

One of the best hotels in Phuket. Great contemporary design; perfect alternative to the boring Thai-styled interior in most Phuket hotels. The room is new, spacious, and very clean. The staff are very attentive. It's got one of the best pools in Phuket, if not Thailand. I had a wonderful stay.

They have a lot of activities so you won't get bored staying for a couple days, however it is a little far off the beaten path so it takes a little effort to get to. The hotel makes it easy and it really is worth the trip. Phuket can be overwhelming, but this island paradise is a quiet little cove, with beautiful beaches (beware of day tourists, but that's anywhere in Thailand these days) and surrounding scenary. While everything is amazing and meets all five star expectations, with beautiful clean grounds, rooms and attentive staff, it is a little expensive by Thailand standards (however still very reasonable by international standards).

We had a wonderful time here in Patong thanks to the staff of Burasari. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to visit Patong, Phuket. We actually booked two hotels in Phuket to see the different beaches but between Burasari and Sawasdee Village, Burasari won. The excellent services it provides, the wonderful staff, especially Oil our receptist was extremely accommodating. Burasari is a hotel that is centrally located, right next to Patong beach and very close to Bangla. It is very close to all the actions and yet a quiet oasis rest place to relax The best part of this whole experience is the fact that the staff made us feel very welcoming, they always have a great smile on their face when greeting the guests. Thank you Burasari for such a wonderful wonderful experience. We will definitely come back again. For those who needs a free airport transportation, you have to book it through their site to receive it. It cannot be a Agoda, Booking or any other affiliate sites. It cost 1,100 baht to go to the airport so roughly 35 dollars which is a reasonable price.
Cheapest hotels in Phuket

I have to say the staff and the owner is ridiculously friendly! Nick is a very nice and cool host. He can even give you tour deals that are insanely cheap. The staff are also friendly. I have to say the staff and the owner is ridiculously friendly! Nick is a very nice and cool host. He can even give you tour deals that are insanely cheap. The staff are also friendly. In fact the friendliest among all I have encountered. The room is huge and can accomodate 10 people easily. It's clean and economical for budget travellers and the like. I don't get why people still give them a negative feedback. If you expect posh treatment, there's 5 star hotels all over the place but if you want simple and honest to goodness treatment, this is the place for you. Sa mga kababayan kong nagbabalak magbakasyon ng Phuket, dito na kayo. Ask for Sheena, Pinay po syang employee dun and aalagan kayo nun. Lahat pde nyang ituro sa inyo galing sa murang pagkain to cheap tours. Dont be disappointed about how the facade of the building looks like. Once you see the room, I bet my top dollar you will also react the way I did. It's value at it's best. Good bless and Good luck to you Nick and Sheena! I hope I can make my way back to that lovely place and definitely I will stay there again! Mabuhay!

I don't simply book a place to crash on line I have to see the place before I purchase on line this save me a lot of 'hide and seek' with all the travelling hoohaas to get to that specific address learned from my past AirBnB experience in Yogyakarta Indonesia so i told myself.. hmm not anymore Okay.. let's review this little haven! I have to thank Agoda first for this amazing deal.. the amount I paid for 2 nights is such a steal! Reception: Instantly accepted my booking without any hassle and it was only around 12noon A deposit of Baht 200 is a must before check in. Staffs: Very friendly and accommodating. Unlike others that tell you, the guy ushered me with full of passion showing the bathroomis well maintained, toilet is super clean! I selected the bed myself and it was granted. Thank you!

Cheap scooter hire too. 5 mins walk to where the bus goes to putting! Staff: superb, kind and helpful staff Social area: good social communal area. Great place to meet others Cons: Heat: there was no Aircon in the communal area so it was very hot all the time. The cleaner: although I think there was a language barrier, she was always very agressive and did not respond well to questions Sadly whilst I was there, I got bed bugs (stayed in the DBL room in PO4), they helped me to locate a laundrette to wash all my belongings and even washed some of my stuff prior. The owner (lady with the long hair) went above and beyond to help me with my bed bugs and gave me medicine to soothe my bites. The stay was comfortable and I would revisit if I were to return to Phuket old town.

I hope there will be scooter rental services with best price to the guest who stay in this hostel. It would be nice if it provide more facilities like iron, R.O. water etc. What need to improve more is toilet cleanliness. I'm sure guest will feel more comfortable to stay longer here. 😊

There was a small lamp, mirror, a tiny shelf and an electric plug next to each bed. + You've got an access to the pool even for dorm rooms. There was a reconstruction going on so it wasn't as 'pretty' but you could still swim and lie down at the pool chair. + You can do laundry yourself - 20 Baht for washing and 10 Baht for drying (there are also a drying rack and clothes hangers available). + Stuff was really nice and helpful with good English. - There is no lift and stairs are quite narrow and hurting your bare feet (there is 5 floors).

Has a small pool with 4 sunbeds perfect for early morning or in the evening. Beds comfy and soft - not hard pillows! The hotel is tricky to find but it is on the same road as the Jungcylon (about five minutes walk). Has a seven eleven next door- but no sleezy massage parlour as i see in someones review. Perfect little hotel. one road away from the beach quicker to go left from hotel than past jungcylon. Not noisy perfect not far from bars but far enough not to be noisy. Shakers restuarant around the corner is cheap and sells all kinds of foods and drinks. The rooms are clean and very tidy and you get a safety box in your room.- Free of charge You can also book trips from your hotel. Staff so friendly and always there to help. You can also rent motorbikes and helmets from hotel. Perfect hotel throughly enjoyed my trip. Would defo reccommend and love to come back again.

My girlfriend and I first stayed in the private double room which was great. My girlfriend flew home I then moved into the dorms for 7 nights, which were equally good, especially considering the price. In general, the price is superb for what you get. The WiFi is good and carriers well to all rooms, the beds are three quarters as a opposed to a single which is a welcome surprise in thailand. There is small kitchenette type area and a lovely reception/common area. The whole place is ultra clean and done up in a very chic modern industrial theme. There is free tea, coffee, toast and bananas in the morning. The location is very good. It’s a 5 min walk to old town, the Indy night market, the traditional Thai food and expo market, a big shopping center, plenty of bars and a matter of meters from both the bus station and a 7 eleven.

To be safe I just booked for 1 night of Studio Double Room to see how it goes first. Upon arrival the staff welcomes us with such a positive attitude. Once we got into the room and felt comfortable we immediately extend our stay for another 4 days. The location is just perfect (10-15 mins walking distance to the beach and bangla road) but there is also bike for rent from the hotel. The best part was my last day was supposed to be an Economy Room but with the courtesy from the Hotel Manager and the staff they allowed us to stay in the same room which was Studio Double. The staff by the name of Peach is a charm! Kudos to the team and will definitely return.

Also, there is a lovely acoustic guitar in the common area, free to use. That is awesome, usually if any it's bad. I was so happy ahah :) Also when you get there, you'll try a Butterfly tea... You'll see, that's loooovely. Note: if you are willing to dive, Aussie Divers is the absolute best one. I've been there for 1 week, diving everyday mainly with AD but also with All4Diving one day. NO question: AD is THE best :) THANKS!

Between the free breakfast every morning, the free motorbike rental, and the great staff, I just couldn't leave. Pros: -FANTASTIC Staff: The staff was ready, willing, and able to help me with whatever I needed. Louis even gave me a ride to a pharmacy when I came down with some food/alcohol/sun poisoning. -Free Breakfast. Eggs, spam (I think), toast, juice, yogurt, coffee/tea. If you want more than that, you're just being greedy. -Free Motorbike. It’s the best way to travel in Phuket (assuming you don’t die). -Free Beach Towel. Comes in handy when you forget to pack one (like me). -Good location. You’re not exactly beach or Bangla front, but both are within 20 minutes walking distance, 5 minutes if you have a motorbike and a need for speed. -FANTASTIC Staff. For real. Cons: -The surrounding area can be a bit noisy; so can the other guests. -The wireless internet was a little spotty. I don’t know if Phuket Paradise Hotel is the best hotel I've ever stayed at, but it certainly has the best staff I've ever encountered. Louis and his people run a tight ship over there. The Phuket Paradise Hotel has everything you will need during your stay in Patong Beach. Just be careful on that motorbike. I almost died 3 or 4 times.

Camp Hostel has a really nice vibe for good people looking for a laid back time by the beach! The walk is short to both Kata and Karon, and there’s a lot of restaurants in the surrounding area—including a small night market with delicious and cheap eats. Free drinking water refills were great, and it was nice to have the option to bring mats/snorkels to the beach for free as well. We met some really laid back, interesting people, and will definitely cherish our time at Camp Hostel. It’s simple—just what you need as a backpacker looking for a good time socially. Shout out to Achi, Bayu, and Em for all they do to keep travelers happy. You all rock!

Choosing a place to stay from a web page is not always a easy task. This one was like it was describe. On a six level building with an elevator to access your room, this place was more than we expected. The room and public area were so clean that we could walk everywhere barefoot. We had a large room with balcony, comfortable bed, TV & refrigerator with complementary water. Was also included in the renting a full & delicious American breakfast plus a plate of fruit. We highly recommend this place, for the service also. You will see that the owner works hard to give you the best& keep it update, especially internet when the providers around Phuket are not so good. Great choice!

Great location in Kata, Fun decorations (like the Real World), staff keep it very clean and well managed, safe area, night street market is next door has great food, guests were nice & respectful, quiet/good sleep, nice balconies! Staff was a little disorganized/some miscommunication - I had a little difficulty getting ahold of the staff when I arrived at night and they forgot to tell me about the deposits (towel – 300B, key – 200B) and front door code (I got locked out, so make sure to get the code). Overall, it was a nice, clean and well managed. FYI - In Phuket, public transportation is very challenging/unreliable, Taxi/Grab are extremely expensive, and it's not easy to walk from beach to beach... if you want to explore other beaches, etc. I recommend staying here/Kata Beach for a few nights and then stay at another beach/area. If you only want to stay by Kata Beach (it’s a beautiful beach) then you are all set here.

Had such a nice stay at this hostel and would definitely go back there if I return to Phuket Town. The staff was really accommodating, breakfast (coffee, tea, toast, butter, jam and either some eggs, rice dish or vegetables) was good, everything was clean and in a good condition, the pool is small but perfect for a little swim on a hot day in the town and there's also a small common area which is perfect for hanging out at night. You can bring your own stuff and use the kitchen (and a fridge) for free. There's free drinking water the whole day and the lobby is also a kinda common area where people hang out (games and books for free usage) , if you want you can even watch TV. If you want to book a tour there's a booking machine next to the rezeption, the tours are comparatively cheap. You can rent a scooter for 200 baht / day at the hostel as well, I would recommend to do that and drive around the island a bit. In general, Phuket Town is a nice location to stay at.

We had a thoroughly good time at Sunwing Bangtao. Third time to Thailand, second to Phuket, but first time with kids (4 and 6 years old) - Sunwing Bangtao was perfect for us.

One of the best hotel in phuket-patong .. Clean .. Good rooms . Quiet, close to the beach , new hotel , very lovely staff .. Nice views .. Safety I have been here tow times and i will be back as soon as possible to meet the hotel owner cuz they really my family

The beach is a couple of minutes away and the pool is great. Karon is a bit quiet but we liked that, great restaurant come out of the hotel and turn right, up to Karon Circle and stay on the right hand side, the first place on your right. Beautiful Thai food. For cheap roadside food the best one is outside the 7-11 up towards the Wat on the left. Give the market on the beach road a miss. For laundry, tours, motorbike/car rental we used Kanjana tours in the soi just outside the hotel on the right. Some people have commented that the staff were not all that smiley or helpful but I found them ok. In general I found Phuket a bit less smiley all round than other parts of Thailand, maybe it was the low-season blues? Anyway we had a great time and I'd definitely book this hotel again through Agoda. i put a 3 for dining because I had to put something but we never ate at the hotel so I couldn't comment really.

Cleanliness: super clean roam and terrace and the maids did an awesome job with the room cleaning Food: the breakfast was a lavish one with a buffet having so many options. It was the best part of the stay and we enjoyed waking up to a yummy breakfast each day. The pool was so nice and big. They give you welcome chocolates. They provide you with many mini bar items in room including crisps, chocolates, water bottles and soda tins. Mini bar is for free. The location of the hotel is ideal as many restaurants are nearby. You can also rent a bike right in front of the hotel. The spa at the hotel is exceptionally good, me and my wife had a 2 hour massage and we really enjoyed it. ☺ ☺ Overall it is a 10/10 place to stay in Phuket.

Our stay at the ChGR was very comfortable, we liked everything about the hotel. The breakfast was always delicious and there were lot of food to choose from. I have read reviews from this hotel before our trip, that the breakfast was always the same, but you dont have to eat eggs every day so its not true People who have been in Thailand before know that the best food is on the streets so I think its unneccesary to have AllInclusive. Anyway, the rooms were clean, the maids were sometimes in a bad mood but we didnt really care It happend maybe two times that we have a little lizard on the wall but it doesnt bite or anything so you dont have to worry its normal (i have seen and experienced worst things than that ) We have had a beautiful view from to room, so it was very nice to wake up to a view like this I would like to admire one receptionist, i dont know her name but I know she is from Philippines. She cared about the guests all the time, asking if there is any problem with the room or anything. She was very attentive. So the only one thing I didnt like were the stairs. There are lot of stairs in the hotel, but i am a very positive person and after delicious food in my tummy it was just a little excercise. I recommend this hotel to everyone

Great rooftop pool and bar with scenic views of Patong and Patong beach, with good amenities at your doorstep, including a Muay Thai ring, and night market. Breakfast was good too, I would recommend to any group of traveler visiting for the first time!

It was also reasonably cose to the pool area which incorporates a large water slide. Breakfast was from 7am to 11am and the selections were quite good and varied each day. There is no internet in the rooms but free wifi is available in the reception/ dining area. A free shuttle is provided which gives access to other hotels in the Laguna area and to the beach. This runs frequently and until relatively late in the evening. We were in Laguna to play golf and the hotel overlooks the 17th fairway of the Laguna Golf Course which, like all courses in Phuket, is very scenic but it is not as challenging as some of the others, notably Red Mountain. When we were leaving, our flight was an evening departure and we were offered a free late checkout up to 3pm or an additional half day rate for checkout at 6pm which I thought quite reasonable. I would certainly go back to this hotel for any future stays in Phuket.

They also provide shuttle service to Jungceylon Mall. I would come back again to Phuket and will stay at the same hotel. Will recommend it to others.

The only thing is that there was a musty/mildew smell in the room during our stay but maybe this was due to the AC that leaked on our first day. Maintenance guy was very quick to fix this though and also the Housekeeper who replaced our beddings. The hotel is very huge with child friendly pools, my 3 year old daughter enjoyed their slide so much it was so difficult to get her out of the pool. Lot of activities for children and parents when we were there and its free! La Tesca Restaurant offers great food with a very reasonable price especially if you will stick with their Thai Menu, their pineapple seafood fried rice is good- cant say more about their breakfast as we did not avail their breakfast. The hotel is a short walk to Kamala Beach and Fantasea Phuket. There is a mini mart inside the hotel but there are two 7 eleven shops nearby too just take the short cut from the beach behind hotel. Kamala Friday Market is just right opposite of the hotel (this is a small market and quiet compared to the one in Phuket Town). Except for local street food that is so cheap here, please DO NOT shop in Kamala for souvenirs this place is little pricy compared to the shops in Phuket Town or Jungceylon Mall in Patong. If you prefer a peaceful place to stay with your family after your patong adventures are over (like us) then this is an ideal place for you.

Going to a resort island like Phuket means you have to stay out and enjoy the outdoors. The Bloc is exactly that! A great room with a balcony view, nice shower, cozy bed, abundant supply of drinking water and a good WiFi connection. I brought the rate down to 4 under Facilities because the TV had no other program but local, Asian and news channels (no HBO, Fox, ESPN, NBA/Balls). But I get the idea - Phuket tourists are supposed to be out and enjoying the outdoors not staying in the room and watching TV! The pool, the superb breakfast and the hospitality of the hotel staff is already a plus! If I get a chance to return to Phuket, I will definitely book a room again here!

Sawasdee Hotel is incredible and fully deserves its status within the top 50 hotels in Phuket. Inside the hotel grounds, it's like being in a different area altogether as the decor creates an atmosphere and ambience totally removed from the tourist areas outside. The staff are extremely respectful and courteous, and even cleaners and security will always say, "Good morning." The staff in reception, the restaurant, and the spa, are all very friendly and kind. The restaurant offers a great selection of food and drink at reasonable prices. The spa is also incredible, and you'll feel like a new person after being pummeled for a few hours. The location is good - you just have to walk 10/15 minutes to the beach, which is beautiful and not overly crowded (a pleasant surprise). The area seems dominantly Scandinavian, and there are a lot of different European groups to meet on the beach. The hotel also offers tours, such as the Phuket Island Hopper tour, which are very enjoyable experiences. Definitely recommended, and I'll certainly stay here again.

The Baan Thai resort was a great hotel. The rooms are new and very clean and spacious. We have stayed at other hotels in Phuket and this has been the best so far. It is in a prime location next to many bars, restaurants, and shopping. The Patong beach is just a stone's throw from the hotel. Very nice and overall a great experience.

How I was wrong, very wrong The set up of the hotel architecture and design was lovely, super cool, super current, super fresh. The hotel was clean, the service was great, the pool was lovely, the food was good, the beds in the bedrooms were like fluffy clouds which take you away for a nice sleep and rest. I read previous comments regarding “The hill” as a curvy girl, yes the hill was a little nightmare to walk up but it’s less than 4 mins of energy which is super worth the safe heaven hotel. #Getsomeexercise! Would I stay again? YES! And I have already arrange for my friends to come to Phuket next April and we will book this hotel again.

Staff were professional but friendly. Hotel restaurants were excellent - espcecially the Thai by the pool. Hotel helped with booking our James Bond Island trip, which is a must if first time to Phuket. Hotel also offers a Thai cooking class. I recommend it as a unique and enjoyable way to have a 5 course lunch. All-in-all a great 4 night stay and will be back.

Booked a 1 bedroom sea view, but upon arrival found out they upgraded us to a 2 bedroom penthouse. 150m2 appartment with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and 60m2 rooftop balcony.

We were looking for a private villa with the service of a 5 star hotel and we found it at the Anantara Phuket hotel. Our stay was one of the best in the past 22 years of visiting Phuket. Since we always rent a moped the location was no problem.

Honesty to say that it will be a excellent memory in my mind. The overview of hotel should in the top 10 ranking of Phuket hotels. There some points lay in below: 1. Everybody is smiling and friendly. 2. the efficiency of service is high. they can make good service for you whatever how late it is. 3. ICON(2nd FL restaurant) restaurant is the top class. Food is fresh and good tasty.(items also colorful, eastern and western both can enjoy food there. servicing is the best, they are coming to service for you when you are present here. Especially Inga, She is really professional, smart and friendly. There i am also lay something need improvement: 1. The lake water and edge of lake is not so clean, pls try to clean it monthly. and for the lake water, it cannot be refresh. Dusit D2 Phuket is the best hotel that I stayed before. The room is spacious, very clean, very comfortable and relaxing ambiance, water heater and pressure is working perfectly fine, the aircond is working perfectly fine as well and the wifi is one the fatest. I can watch Manchester United vs CSKA Moscow Champions League game live using my Ipad without any glitch or slow internet connection. From the moment I step into the hotel I am already WOWed by the hotel grand and big front door and also the simple design of their lobby. When proceed to check in and I'm once again WOWed by the lady who manning the front desk. Her service is excellent and we check in to our room seamlessly. She also proactively extend our check out time from 1200 to 1400 upon knowing that our flight back home is at 1900. We never even requested it. I never experience this with all the hotels that I stayed before. From day 1 until I check out the staff always greet us with a big genuine smile. I really love this hotel. I will highly recommend it to my friends and I for sure come back to this hotel if I happen to visit Phuket again and I will for sure put this hotel brand Dusit on my 1st priority everytime I travel.

We heard good feedback from friends about their stay at Indochine Resort and decided to stay when we went for our short vacation in Phuket. Before the trip, we researched on the website about this resort. There were a number of not so good feedback, especially one Japanese guy whom we thought is too highly critical. However, given the very positive feedback by our friends, we are not too concerned about those comments we saw on Agoda website. We stayed at the ocean front room and the view of the patong bay was absolutely spectacular and breathtaking! Think this is the only place in the world where you can have three landscaping views (mountains, sea and sky) all thrown in. The best part is that we get to enjoy all these without the noise if we were to stay somewhere near Patong Beach. Good quality furniture and fittings were used and room was clean as well. Service was excellent too. However, have to be more patient as with most hotels or resorts in Thailand, the staffs take a longer time to understand what we want. We had the breakfast which was part of the deal – the spread was not too bad. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation and it is a pity that we had to go back so soon. This has become one of our favorite places to stay when we visit Phuket and we will highly recommend this to our friends and family who will be visiting Phuket.

This was our last hotel during our three week stay in Thailand. I have to say that this stay was on top of our list of best hotels in Phuket. For the money, our accomdations were excellent and we enjoyed spending time at the hotel. One of the most helpful and amicable staff members was a lady by the name of Alice. She helped us with requests and inquiries promptly and courteously. Also, Chan at the main lobby was excellent in helping us to check out effortlessly. As for the accomodation, the room was very big and full of ammenities that made for a comfortable rest and stay. One thing of note is the hotel's location. It is far from nightlife in Patong(which we really did not mind). We just wish there was at least a convenience store nearby or a few accessible restaurants that serve thai cuisine. Overall, a memorable stay in Phuket that we will not forget!

This was our 2nd time with Amari. This time, with our parents, so we booked the 2 bedroom Suite. I had built a certain expectation based on our last experience--but some things have changed. Cons - The Suites are now located on a hill, constructed several years ago. They provide a buggy to take you there. These glass condo suites weren't built when we were there last time, so I wasn't expecting to be so distant from the pool and breakfast area. In fact, the location of our suite was further up the hill (several loops) making it way too far to walk down the lobby. This means relying all the time on the buggy. Not a big deal, since you just call and they come after 5 mins, but not the most convenient. Second, our suite was facing another suite's roof. So, all the effort to be high up on a hill, tucked in there, only to face the roof of another suite, after paying 'much more' was a bit frustrating. They did move us to another location the next day. So, that was nice. Pros - they are very attentive in addressing your needs. My husband pulled a muscle and needed a chiropractor on a Sunday, and one of the ladies in the Front desk was extremely accommodating and called several clinics and hospitals until we found one. They did relocate us to another room and provided an Anniversary cake for my parents. They were very generous with replacing the water bottles, fresh fruits, etc. The breakfast was expansive. Huge selection and the location of the breakfast area outdoors really makes you forget everything. It's serene, peaceful and just beautiful. I think it's the best property in Phuket, considering the island isn't really the most beautiful or romantic. It was a great way to end our trip in Thailand here, to relax, enjoy the neighboring islands, etc. My parents loved it, so that's the most important. If this is your 1st time in Phuket, it IS expensive...so bring some goodies from Bangkok. Rent a scooter...because Taxi drivers ask for ridiculous amount for such sh

The gardens are beautiful, stunning location , and the layout and design of the hotel is superb. This is not a new hotel but it has a wonderful relaxed feeling. Great to be away from all the other hotels in Phuket. Great beach, and fantastic local beach restaurants. Local taxis, will take you to Phuket town and Patong if you want shopping and nightlife. Some local shops. I love staying at this hotel , and as another lone traveller said to me "this place is something else".

Love the beanbags by the pool. you get oceanbreeze all day long here. my boyfriend and I have been in many 5 stars hotel..and yet, we love this little boutique hotel. the upsides: - amazing view from room. great pool size overlooking ocean. you wake up to the beach - private beach...meaning nice clean and quiet area - oceanbreeze all around - lovely room...all white walls and glass - lovely local staffs.....nice and genuine and friendly. they will do their best to make it happen for you. if you are expecting 5 stars service like St.Regis...you are in the wrong place. the downsides are: - lightout lasted a few hours.eaning tram was occaaionally...not working. given that this is a new development area. - soft opening..so u see a few WIP here and there. but all major areas like restaurants and pools are all nicely finished. - flies....the concept of the hotel is open area..so expect a few flies. Tip: - get a deplex for better view and space - the hotel is full of stairs. so make sure you can do stairs walk - it is far from Phuket city. so rent a car. - room service (thai food) is pretty good. (judged by me...a Thai)

When we drove up to this resort, I was thinking wow this is an amazing property, wish it's where we are staying. Then I saw the sign and we all got excited. It has some serious curb appeal. We drove up, parked our car and saw a lot of construction still going on. Security called for 2 golf carts to come down and pick up our luggage and the 3 of us. We took a steep and dangerous ride, passengers in the back need to hang on for dear life. The reception desk is located outdoors under some of the architecture. A pool wraps around the front of some of the pool access rooms. It's beautiful, but in an Ikea sort of way. Our room, the sea view room, while somewhat stylish looks great with a wonderful view but that's just the surface. If you stay in the room, you will find that there's only about 2 outlets inside and 1 outlet on the balcony. The wifi signal was a bit weak but I speedtested it and it measured in at 5Mb up and down. The finishes in the room are pretty low quality but I've found that with a lot of Phuket hotels. The restroom facilities are bad as they give you pretty much no privacy. I wouldn't recommend it for a family stay. With only 2 outlets, you have to plug in the hair dryer outside of the restroom area. The doors are glass and frosted in some parts but lend very little privacy. The toilet room is separated from the shower but the door only goes part way up letting every little noise you make out into the living space. Water pressure was low on the rainfall showerhead. The bathroom counter hardly had any usable space, you better learn to live tight. Beds are super firm. There wasn't much consideration with regard to safety so you better watch your kids. The ride up to the property was dangerous as is the property itself. Every doorway has a ledge so the moment you step out, you are falling down and you can really hurt yourself if you're not careful. The pool is amazing, views of 2 beaches and it has a bar area. Some rooms will have pool access at thei

This is the place you stay and never want to go back home. It is totally relaxing with vast manicure lawn, private beach, and quiet location away from Patong area, but only 10 kms from Phuket city center. I went to this hotel for the second time in two months and booked another vacation for next month and believed there would be many more to come. Beautiful hotels are easy to fine in this price range, but the staff make all the difference at The Regent Phuket Cape Panwa. They were attentive but not intrusive. They always tried their best to meet your needs. For example, with the pool villa I booked, I was entitled to a free afternoon tea set each day. On the check-in day, I noticed other guests had a beef burger in their set. I told a waitress right away that I didn't eat beef. I expected that my set would be one piece short of the normal set or they would just give me one more of something else that they already prepared. But, to my amazement, the chef freshly made me a burger with chicken and avacado with creamy sauce which was very yummy! They absolutely had me again. With my two stays at this place, the first time I chose a pavilion which was a house in itself. The bedroom was attached to a balcony with separate bathroom. Inside the bathroom, there were separated shower and toilet. The bath was full-size. This time I booked a pool villa. When the butler opened the door to the room/house, I felt like I was moved into another world, perhaps paradise. The bedroom was similar to the pavilion, but twice the size with separate level for the living room. Two sides of the wall were windows from ceiling to floor. (The blinds could be easily opened and closed from your bed panel.) You can watch the panoramic view from your bed all day long. Or, better yet, sink in the private jacuzzi pool and enjoy the view. Stunning property with amazing service. The best in Phuket!

I don't use to write often a review but this time I wanted to share with you our experience regarding our stay in this facility where I booked initially 2 days to stay but decided to extend to one week despite some negatives aspects described below: Let me start with the positive points: Wonderful hotel, wonderful view, extremely quiet, Incredibly clean, you feel yourself out of the world, the only sound you hear is the wave of the ocean, the sound of water falls everywhere around the hotel and the birds signing.. If you are in honeymoon or in romantic escape then it's the place where you need to be. Check-in is fast, welcome is warm, staff is friendly like everywhere in Thailand. Room are big, well equipped, decoration is ZEN_attitude style which is matching the spirit of the hotel. Mattress are new and comfortable, Nespresso machine with enough complimentary water. Rooms are spread around the facility and not in one building where you will cross all customers in corridors or elevators like in most of hotels or resorts, you feel yourself in pedestrian village within a tropical green and flowers. Most beautiful pool view in Phuket, fantastic Gym facility overlooking the bay… The breakfast is great with all kind of food, fruits and drinks are fresh, it is a lunch itself… We went to many places in Phuket but nothing could equal this Hotel in term of location, environment and services. Negative points: Fare from everywhere which is normal if we are looking for a quiet place. The most inconvenient point is the food, actually they have very limited choice of restaurants, only 2, one is open all day and second (the Italian restaurant) open only at lunch and dinner time and last order at 10h30 so if you are in the city and arrive late then the only choice is to have room service!!! If you stay more than 2 days then the food becomes a challenge as you will be almost eating same thing every day.. For the bar, it's really disappointing as they close at 11pm, incredible when

Traveler impressions of Phuket
I guess it was a wrong choice to visit Phuket city as there wasn't much to explore within city and considering the fact the places that we wanted to visit were situated far away from our hotel and taxi fares were too expensive.
We visited Tiger Kingdom, Trick Eye Museum, Phi Phi Island, a bit of shopping at City Centre, Thalang, etc. May be next time if I come to visit Phuket, I'd prefer to stay at Patong beach instead.
Truth be known even though both of the hotels I stayed at were clean and comfortable, I doubt I will ever return to Phuket.
The beaches are amazing, but there is garbage everywhere, and with the exeption of a few taxis, Tuk Tuks and restaraunts, the shopping and taxis at the Airport is way over-priced. It is more expensive than just about everywhere else I visited, although the soup I got from the vendor stand across the alley from the family mart (accross the street and to the left from the airport) was some of the best soup I had in Thailand.
Phuket is blessed with many beautiful beaches and islands nearby. It also have good facilities and amenities.
Very attractive to visitors.
Phuket is land of excellent beaches. There are lots of activities to be done like elephant trekking,go-karting,bunjee jumping.
Phuket Town just barely functions....Traffic on the whole island is a nightmare...very crowded place.
..here twice..getting worse..?Won't be back...Think they may be killing the goose that laid the golden egg !!!
Phuket is blessed by serene ambience & sunny beaches. Attractions like Krebi, Phang na Phi Phi etc keep you spell bound!
Beautiful city with lovely and much needed cleaning beaches.Have lovely bars and seafood restaurants.
quite commercialise but that is why is more happening place compare to other stand alone islands. price getting higher compare to smaller town in thailand.
People visit Phuket because of beaches. Not much comment at Phuket city as only spend short period of time there.
We've stayed at 2 hotels in Phuket one is in Patong and the other one is in Laguna. The difference about the two is that Patong would cater more from the young adults to a more mature crowd, who wanted to party and experience the local food.
As for Laguna this would cater to families and business men as this is more laid back and more on the upper class as it's a little bit more expensive than the usual hotels in Patong.
You love it or not. You can go for partying or with your family and enjoy a calm stay with enjoying the Thai kindness.
Phuket has many amusement parks and natural surrounding with a lot of cultural history and backgrounds connected with it.
Phuket, the city for everybody. Beach, Jungle, Town, all in one. You can go for day trip to the beach and sea for snorkling or scuba.
Very nice clear water during high season. U can also see the jungle within, via elephant or atv or flying fox. There's even bungee jumping. The town have lots of shop for shoping and restaurant is on every street. Thailand Food is just to die for! Complete package for a place to go. And the price is also cheap, below average i might say. When u interact with the people here, u dont want togo home. Thai people is the soft type. Enjoy phukett!!~
Phuket is full of fun, Atv, flying hanuman, water park, spas, restaurants, water sports, shopping, beaches.
Place for party oriented people or for people planning to spend time only on the beach. For family vacation, I preferred Ao Nang and Phi Phi.
I did not had the opportunity to visit Ko Lanta but have heard that it is a very peaceful place as well. Again, this is all based on my preference for a quitter vacation place. Phuket is way too commercial for my taste
A great place to stay, excellent food, beautiful beaches and water activities. A bit on the primitive side so this may not be for everyone and could be challenging for young families - although many Europeans were there with their families.
It's a long trip for Americans so not worth it unless you can stay for 1-2 weeks. I hope to come back soon :)
There are many places to visit for shopping, eating and sight seeing. It is best to rent a car so that you can travel to any place you like.
Phuket is expensive for Malaysian as most of the things there are expensive. The food is extremely expensive coz they treat us like we are from UK or US.
So try to reduce food intake but everything else in Phuket is good.
Small and easy to travel around without fear of getting too lost! Worth a visit for a relaxing, short trip (:
Phuket is a nice place with nice beaches. Lots of shopping can be done here and lots of eating places to from.
But it is way too crowded. I prefer Krabi then Phuket.
The food and shopping at Patong Beach area is too pricey. I was surprised to find the price of food is equivalent or more expensive than Singapore.
Rolled ice-cream cost S$4 and is not value for money. The cornetto ice cream I bought from the numerous convenience stores were more tasty and cheaper.
If we talk about Phuket town only i reccomend to stay in town for a few days. Old centre is unic, so narrow and cute streets, many cute restorans with a delicios food and special atmosphere.
Its very far from the beaches. If you want to swim you need take some trips to the islands, but in other places of Phuket you cant see the history
bangla road is interesting but not for young nor older children but makes for a fun night out with friends.
just don't get so inebriated that you forget where you are like everywhere else in the world. one should not go to parks where tigers and elephants (and other wild animals) are exploited. Shopping is good for half a day and the massages are so cheap. Thai people are really lovely and the whole destination is tourism-centric. Phuket airport is a bit un-cordinated but its still a comfortable airport even though it is old
an excellent holiday destination with something for everyone.. by far the biggest drawback on phuket is the extortionate price of taxis and tuk-tuks.
. even grabtaxi is relatively expensive but by far the safest and easiest way to travel around..
it's a great place for a holiday.. don't use taxis without meters or tuk-tuks.. grabtaxi now available- use instead
Staying mainly in the Patong district, would recommend for the nightlife and eating. Transport to the tourist areas ie.
elephant farms, snake show and monkey school requires tuk tuk or taxi hire but the prices are still reasonable after the obligatory haggling. Travelling there in May the conditions were very hot and steamy, temps around 32 - 34 degrees.
Get the wifi sim card at the airport to give you a sense of security when traveling Get a hotel near patong beach, theres where all the best attractions and activities are Those packages that you sign up for to visit the islands, you can bargain for cheaper rates, but as you are there to relax and enjoy the nightlife, don't sign up.
bus leave at 7.30am, lots of waiting time. Too commercialised. Gotta visit bangla road, every night while you are there. Visit No. 6 Restaurant for the best thai food. I had all my meals there. Fast food is expensive over there Massage is damn cheap. Do it everyday
Very commercial. Pleople are not so friendly when you try to bargain to have the price you know you should have - some of them seem to think that you've never lived or travelled before and they are quite condescending and laugh in your face.
Weird for such a touristy place. I couldnt wait to get out of phuket. Hopefully Thailand has much more to offer than that!
A more culturally diverse group is now visiting Phuket, since the Ruble has declined significantly in value.
The taxi drivers seem to be more friendly also. Lots of Burmese now man the market stores, and come across a less friendly than the Thais. There are still not beach chairs for hire on the beaches since the government clamped down on corruption with regard to licensing of operators. Some beach mattresses are available however in some limited areas. good to use Phuket as a base to visit outer islands like Raya, Phi Phi, Bamboo, Koh Phang Nga and Koh Kai.
Great Hospitality, Great Preservation of Culture, Hot bodies at Patong Beach :), Great Foods, Cheaper Stuff, Great Entertainment.

More about Phuket
Phuket's most popular resort area is Patong. Fully redeveloped after the 2004 tsunami, Patong's main roads are lined with restaurants, shops, and countless bars and clubs. The nightlife here is legendary in Asia, and many book a hotel in Patong just to experience its lively after-hours scene.
South of Patong Beach is Karon Beach – a much quieter town with shops, restaurants, and bars that cater specifically to tourists. Kamala also offers a good range of accommodation and infrastructure with resorts becoming progressively more upscale towards Bang Thao, Surin, and Pansea beaches.
On the other side of the Phuket lay the islands of Koh Yao Yai, Koh Yao Noi, and Nakha Yai. Resorts on these islands assure secluded beaches and high levels of service.
Phuket is served by Phuket International Airport, about a 45-minute drive from Patong Beach and Phuket Town.
