Kensington Flora Hotel is located very near to Mt. Odae Korea National Park. If you want to consider trekking to the mountain, this hotel would be a perfect choice. The breakfast buffet is quite good, and the French garden is also very quiet and nice place to walk around in the morning. The overall rate is quite good considering the hotel facility and service level (Re...

The hotel is located in the Pyeongchang Ski resort. We have been there a little bit out of season, so it was calm and a very good time to relax. The hotel itself is really clean and in a very good shape. The service very friendly and professional (all speaking a very good english). The room, including the bathroom were also in an excellent shape und very comfortable un...

As the hotel staff speaks very limited English, it took us a lot of time to get the free shuttle bus timetable between Yongpyong resort and Hoenggye bus station (close to AM hotel). The bus departs from Yongpyong resort (Blisshill, 1st Floor, bus parking lot) at 9, 10, 11, 13, 15, 16, 17, 18.20, 19.30, 20.30, 21.40, 22.40, 0.30, 0.50. The bus departs from Hoenggye (a ...

Me & my group (6 pax) took the subway to Dong-Seol station before getting into a express train to Hoeng-gye in Pyeongchang-gun. There we took a taxi to Alpensia Holiday Inn. All in all it took us about 3.5 hours trip. The staff are friendly & speaks english. Me & my wife took a room with village view while the other 2 couples have their rooms with snow mountain view wh...

If you Ski or Ride MTB, this is THE place to stay at! Affordable costs considering this is a high end premium vacation resort area. All your needs are here, and just steps away from the gondolas and facilities. There is also HALAL food for moslems! and that is a HUGE relief for us who find it hard to eat in Korea. LOCATION is the Best!

Staff is very helpful and friendly. We had a one day trip and staff helped to communicate to a driver during our trip as the driver cannot speak English. Room is quite big and it separates restroom area from a bed room. There is small kitchen in the room. You can order some food to your room. Breakfast is better than our expectation. There are a few restaurants near...

From pyeongchang station, we took taxi. It cost 20.000KRW. It was a brand new modern apartment equipped with modern interior and kitchenette. Very cozy and nice. The staffs were very nice amd helpful, but they couldn’t speak English at all so we had to give extra effort to communicate with them. Thanks to google translate. The location was near from phoenix park comple...

I really have to thank Aby, the young guy who speaks OK English and works round the clock. He put us into a quiet room which we requested hence it looked into the rice fields facing the back side of the hotel, first night we had snow and was so pretty. The front of the hotel overlooking the ski slopes and I saw many people placing their ski and board at the balcony. I ...

Very nice spot away from the bustle of Wonju. Spacious and well equipped. The heated floor heats up to a million degrees if you so desire. A little difficult to find so print the map before you head off. No hassle communicating with the delightful owner. Good food within a short car ride. Area seems to be abundant in beef. There's a ski field somewhere nearby but we di...

The property is new and very clean. We get the whole 2 level terrace house with a private garage. This is ideal for those who drive or can make arrangements for pickup. Everything would have been perfect if they have a washing machine as we had a long stay of 6 days. The town is about 10 minutes drive for restaurants and supermarket. The staff speaks English which is a...

We (2 adults & 1 10-yr-old girl) went to YP for skiing & had stayed at G&B Hotel for 6 nights. The hotel is a small one & owned by a couple (Andy & Julie). Both of them can speak Eng, in particular Julie. Breakfast is standard, bread, egg, cereal, coffee, etc. Not so many choices but that's enough for a simple breakfast. You can rent ski or snowboard equipment at the h...

Except the maintenance of the bath room, as I understand this is quite a new hotel, however, I see no proper maintenance of the bathroom & cleaning service is 2/5 marks! Flooring & toilet bowl was not cleaned properly ! I still see hair & stain! Other than the above, hotel staff were helpful although cannot speak fluent English but we still manage to communicate with ...

The hotel is so new that there wasn't a website available when we booked it. Its a wonderful option if you are skiing in Alpensia. Their free shuttle is wonderful (the shuttle was full and the hotel kindly cars to send us to Alpensia anyways). The loft is a great for more bedspace but it would be better if they don't charge us for the extra bedding (33,000KRW per night...

Pro: 1 - manager who can communicate well in English and very helpful to hotel guests. 2 - Location near the Blue Phoniex Ski resort, can go by taxi. 15 minutes of travel. 3 - Can play snow slide at the hotel area 4 - Have a convenient store to stock food and daily necessities. 5 - Can do our private BBQ with hotel packages 6 - Ideal for families / couples to rel...

We didn't rent a car in Korea this time (which I think we should do next time...) hence we took the shuttle bus directly from the Gimpo airport and only manage to arrive Daegwalnyeong at around 7pm (better check the shuttle bus schedule first, we spent 3 hours waiting for the shutttle...The shuttle bus stopped at the Alpensia Resort, and the staff at Holiday Inn helped...

Perfect for skiing, 5 min walking from the bus to go to yongpyong resort. Anyway the owners were so kind, they took us to the yongpyong resort when we needed without any extra charge, also they pick up us the first day from the bus stop to go to the hotel and the last day the same to go to the bus stop...

My friends and I enjoyed our stay at this pension! The space was very comfortable. It had everything we needed. The owner was also very kind and even picked us up when we could not get a taxi late at night back to the pension. She was an awesome hostess and I would stay again if the opportunity arose.

Pyeongchang-gun is a small lovely town and this town is just 10 minutes away from Yong Pyong ski resort. Transportation is not difficult at all, there are free shuttle bus between the town and the resort every now and then in which direct bus to Incheon airport is available at the resort as well. This hotel is just lovely. The staff are nice although they may not co...

The staff was very helpful and accommodating. You need a vehicle as it is tucked away. However, if your there to go to Pheonix Park Ski Resort, it is only 2.5 miles down the road. There is also an abundance of ski equipment rental places. Overall I was very happy and would gladly stay there again!

Ones views would depend on your type of travel and when.. I as a solo traveler purely to ski did not have transport, relied on publlc transport (free shuttle bus to the ski resort 6km) which is excellent. Hoenggye is just a town and the pension is a rather brisk 10 minute walk to town. This is fine but if having to walk after dark in early February, it is pretty col...

The way to the hotel was so scary. small road with forest left and right (well that's why they said its forest hotel??) When we arrived, it's definitely not a hotel. it's more like cottage. the reception located in one house, we went there for check in and get key and map to our room. The room looks like hut. Not huge but very nice with small kitchen in the room. am...

We had one of the best stays in Korea, at this pension. It is located near Phoenix Ski Resort, loving the exclusivity of the location. The owners are a married couple, who take cares of us like we are their children. They provide pick-up and drop off services for all their guests (best service). Great room, clean and with full kitchenette. We will definitely visit agai...

Cab fare from the nearest bus station is about 12,000won but the ahjumma (manager/owner) told us she can drive us with 5,000won.. the pension is quite far from town so u better bring enough food. I came to visit the Winter Olympics. I tried to turn around on the path, but my car got stuck in the snow. The visitors of the Pension helped me out, but it wasn't until the owner came by and called somebody to help me get my car out. After a few tries, they got my car out and pointed me towards my room. It looks like a tight knit community that comes together to ...

My fiancée and I stayed at Angel Dream Pension for 1 night in May. The pension itself is a little off the beaten track but is set in a beautiful tranquil mountain valley next to a pretty stream/river. The the studio room was nice and spacious and was very clean. We were really happy that there was also a small kitchen with a hob, sink, microwave and fridge freezer as...

Cooking facilities are good. Nice snow view. Very close to the ski park. We had a very good experience in Pension Lei. This is our first White Christmas. I will suggest to rent a car for few days if stay there and prepare foods from super market before arrived.

The owner was also very kind and even picked us up when we could not get a taxi late at night back to the pension. She was an awesome hostess and I would stay again if the opportunity arose.

1. I booked double room for 3 people. First, our room is really large and comfortable for 3 people. The facilities in the room is amazing. You'll find that you can stay there for a week because you have all kitchenware for cooking, free toiletries and towel. We're very pleasant with our cleanliness, cozy, beautiful room. We had good breakfast with reasonable price. T...

Had a really great stay albeit a short one at Santa Guesthouse. The owner has a great sense of humor and the staff are friendly and are always keen to help in every way possible to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Really appreciate all that they've done during our trip =)

Olympia hotel & resort was reasonably priced compared to Yongpyong resort hotels. However it has only very basic offering. Rooms are really standard, no extras.. even cleaning was not done daily. Staff is very friendly and keeps smiling. They also try to help as much as possible. Language barrier makes communication a little difficult, but that is common everywhere in...

Traveler impressions of Pyeongchang-gun
Must go: ski resorts (YongPyong resort is the biggest and got great slopes), Korean BBQ and hotpot shops.
Very nice people. A ski resort. Not exactly catered to english speakers so have to ask around for information.
Close to Yongpyeog Resort. The hotel reception can arrange the cab to go to Yongpyeong Resort. From YongPyeong Resort, you can also ask the resorts hotel reception to call the cab for you to return to Alpensia
you can travel out for trout festival during end dec early Jan where you can try ice fishing. It is a fun experience that we really enjoyed :) can try going to korea website for more information on different festival for different months.
You may try ice fishing in Jinbu (near Jinbu bus terminal), just 20 minutes from Hoenggye bus ternmial)
this place will be hosting winter olympic 2108, so the place is well prepared for the event. so we can have better facilities now.
We do not have enough time to travel to other places during our visit. The service of the public transport to Holiday Inn Suites is good & friendly although we have a bit difficulty in communicate in English.
The owner of the hotel can communicate with simple English. He is very friendly and helpful. He drove us to the skiing resorts.
If you enjoy outdoor activities and getting away from the city, this is a great place to go. Don't expect much city life here though, if that is what you're looking for then don't go.
There is much to be done to promote this resort by improving the facilities and amenities. Good to have a outdoor spa resort around this area.
You have to ride your own vehicle to get there, because of the location quite far from Seoul, about 4 hours driving.
Pyeongchang-gun is rather huge. It depends on which month/weather you visit alpensia.I love coming here during winter esp to ski & to enjoy the weather
