Safe city on the lake very beautiful with plenty to see and do for all ages and easy to get around very step
What a peaceful and lovely town . Dont miss to hop on a quiet cruise through nearly milford sound and you will amazed by the beautiful and stunning scenery.
Lunch on board will be good option as well.
This town is like none other in NZ! The adventure sports capital of the world that can only be compared to Whistler in Canada.
Plethora of things to do, see, eat, drink and enjoy life! Not really a beach town but great for biking, hiking, outdoor and water sports. Great art galleries also and town has a vibe that s hard to top.
We have travelled to Queenstown NZ to ski three times now with our young family and have thoroughly enjoyed our stay each time.
It's a very family-friendly town. The various ski fields are close enough to drive to within 30 minutes to an hour. If the weather is fine, there are other great activities - a really fun and free activity is frisbee golf - an 18-'hole' course is situated in Queenstown's lovely gardens and along the lake. It's a fun way to spend a few hours with the family. Take along a picnic and enjoy lunch in the outdoors.
Very easy to walk the whole town, easy to access tourist events. Lots of choices in food and retail outlets.
Beautiful place to visit, breathtaking views of Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables from the city centre.
Enjoyed sipping Hot Chocolate from Patagonia chocolates while enjoying the view. Not much halal dining options for Muslim travelers.
Have been to visit many time and love it each time we return. Million Dollar cruise on the lake was a standout this trip, brilliant!
Truly amazing place, would move there in a heartbeat, if it wasn't the opposite direction to Europe. The jet boat was great.
Foods amazing. 2 great meals at Captains, highly recommended. Also we had Pedros lamb twice as a takeaway during our trip - thats al they do, but its the best lamb ever. Queenstown we miss you already
Queenstown is surrounded by stunning mountains and landscapes. When the summer kicks in and the days are long, you can head out on an excursion and still come back with plenty of time to explore Queenstown and its offerings.
Everything is a quick road trip away, and each trip on the road is accompanied by stunning landscapes.
There are lots of interesting places and activities that you can do in Queenstown. You can lay by the lake shore enjoying sun bath, take a cruise, take jet boat ride, take the gondola up to Queenstown Hill (where you can bungy jump, ride luge, enjoy lunch at the skyline restaurant, or paraglide from there).
I absolutely love Queenstown for the breathtaking wonderful views of the lake, the mountains, the Skyline/Gondola ride/the Luge, wonderful hotels, the wonderful 1912 Earnslaw trip to Walters Peak, just amazing!
A spectacular destination with lots to do/experience. Good food and beautiful scenery with all types of leisure activities, from extreme sport to relaxing boat trips.
If you want to drive anywhere, everything is within close proximity to Queenstown. A truly memorable visit. Need to be careful on where you stay though as we bottomed out in that category.
This was the highlight of our trip to NZ. There is so much to do in Queenstown. The ONLY drawback is that it is so expensive to do all of the activities offered.
We definitely spent more on activities than we did on flights to get to NZ. Besides that, this was my family's favorite vacation yet.
Very beautiful place that you should visit it once in your life. Here you could try many maximal sports that you can not easily find anywhere else.
What's not to love about a town built in an almost magical location? We didn't have one poor meal in the three days we were there.
Loved the Thai restaurants, the Fergburger, The Find. Yes they may have overdone it with the tourist stuff, but you can ignore it. Do they really need to have a spook house? A 12D(whatever that is?) movie theater? In my opinion, no, but if that's your thing...I would say the most important thing to do is use Queenstown as a homebase and get out and do what you love. The highlight of the area for us was Milford Sound overnight. You can make arrangements in Queenstown and take a bus if you want. We went with the Real Journey's trip and did it as an overnight. That was awesome! The boats are great, especially the rooms. Do it!
It's such a beautiful city. Awesome view and relax. Highly recommend to stay more than 3 nights and sightseeing the places around such as Milford sound and Arrow Town etc.
We stayed only two nights but it wasn't long enough and wished we had booked Four nights, we went on the Earnshaw river boat and visited the farm which was great and we went up in the gondola but there was loads more to do which we didn't have time for.
Beautiful place not to be missed.
The 'Adventure capital of the world' they say, and in every respect that statement is true. Be prepared for a huge range of activities.
There never is enough time to do all you want to do in Queenstown, so return trips are always on the cards. The area offers excitement aswell as relaxation. Caters for all. Adventure. Romance. Kids. Peaceful rest. The full life cycle is available in a mountain paradise!
Queenstown is a picturesque NZ city with activities in winter and summer from tours with a fee to lovely walks.
Queenstown is so beautiful i will recommend those who visit new zealand to spend at least 3 nights. It's relaxing with breath taking scenery, exciting activities and loads of activities and sightseeing spots.
Queenstown is fantastic - no wonder people enjoy coming to this town at the bottom of the world. Skiing is accessible within 20 minutes of the town, with no need to bring any gear (everything is rentable).
In addition there is stunning scenery, nature walks, farm activites, water sports, extreme sports (bungy, sky diving etc). Lots to do and to top it all off, the locals are so welcoming!
This town is too cute! Everything you need condensed within an a jaw dropping ring of mountains..Chilled, even when not chilly Cool
Never miss the Helicopter ride, shotover jet ride, river trekking aboard the safaris jeep. skyline gondola with buffet, Gibbston Valley wine tasting and fine dining, Gantleys 6-course menu, luge ride and a lot more.
The town has both combination of shopping and relaxing type facilities. Queenstown has two small casinos for those who wishes to try their luck, ample of shops for souvenirs.
The lake cruise on the on the steam boat TSS Earnslaw was mind blowing, the town has a number of activities suitable for families, youngsters who seek extreme sports or even couples for a romantic getaway. The town has indescribable picturesque scenaries, mountains, rivers, lakes, snow, sun, all elements you would expect in Europe without the need to travel 20 odd hours.
I was just awed by the magnificent beauty of Queenstown! The mountains and lakes and the little shops, everything was just excellent, I enjoyed my time there, and wish I could stay longer.
Loved the snowboarding experience there!
The Queenstown is the best town in south Island which I can say must visit. Very beautiful Wakatipu lake surrounded Queenstown, tons of outdoor activities available.
Sking is popular during winter time, Coronet Peak is very close to Queenstown. stunning lake view with snow covered the mountains. Nearby recommended to visit are arrowtown & cromwell - old town, Mildford sound, Glenorchy- lord of the ring filming location.
Home of the Ferg Burger - food of the GODS. Awesome place to visit all year round - fantastic scenery with enough activities to keep you busy throughout your whole trip.
AMAZING SCENERY, VIEWS ARE SPECTAULR THERES SO MUCH TO SEE AND DO BETWEEN ADVENTURE SPORTS AND SKIING SNOWBOARDING THIS CITY HAS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE
It was fun - one of the livelier cities on the South Island. Very young vibe to it which is good for younger folk who are looking for more night activities
