Health precautions are essential when traveling to Raja Ampat. Consult your healthcare provider regarding necessary vaccinations and malaria prevention, as some areas may have a higher risk. Carrying a basic first aid kit, including insect repellent and sunscreen, is advisable. Staying hydrated is crucial, especially if you plan to engage in outdoor activities, so consider bringing a reusable water bottle to minimize plastic waste.
Currency exchange can also be a consideration, as not all establishments accept credit cards. It's best to have some local currency on hand for small purchases, especially in remote areas. ATMs may not be readily available, so withdrawing cash in larger towns before heading to the islands is a good idea.
