"i selected this hotel in the hopes of getting personalized scuba diving without crowds of beginner divers on the coral reefs. i had hoped to dive out of phuket, thailand, but it was the wrong season. i had read no reviews about diving in redang island. as it turned out, the dive operation met my best expectations, but the diving in the marine reserve did not (terrible underwater visibility, fish life sparse and mostly juveniles). bottom line--wonderful place to go to lie in the sun and get a beautiful tan--but not the place to go for world-class diving experience. the dive operation itself was first class and the hard corals predominating the reefs were healthy."

"We were picked up from the jetty and driven to the accommodation for I think RM10 each. The room was clean with a comfortable bed (although the pillow was too large). The bathroom was clean with a warm shower with good water pressure. The rooms are situated on the side of a hill so be prepared to climb some steps! There is a restaurant attached which serves a basic menu as well as drinks (good fruit shakes). There are one or two restaurants nearby and one shop with very basic provisions a 5-10 min walk away. This was the quiet part of Redang with not much going on, however, this means that the beach is almost entirely your own. The guesthouse can arrange for snorkelling tours. There is a resort 5 mins down the road which has it's own beach and serves a variety of food and alcohol drinks (the only place in this part) and is the only place to accept cards. Note that the island does not have any ATMs. The other, busier side of the island, is a half hour walk through the jungle (not a difficult walk) where there are a number of cafes and restaurants. Would recommend staying in this part of Redang."

"we had a really nice stay in this hotel. the staff picked us up at the redang airport and sent us directly to the hotel, very convenient. few guests are there, that's exactly what we expected. after checked-in, we are surprised by the nice design inside the room. despite of the simple equipment, we love the wood-frame of the hotel, especially the wooden floor in the guest room. it is clean and comfortable. i read the comments before arriving, knowing that there're limited activities in the hotel, so we just stayed for 1 night. but we really had a wonderful time there, leading a peaceful life which we are looking for. the next day, we moved to long beach for a different life. in my opinion, if you stay 1 or 2 nights in redang island resort, it must be a good choice if you like quietness, and then you can take a boat to long beach, for a more happening experience."

"Staying at any hotel/chalet is fine at Redang Island since you'll be out and about most of the times anyway. I would recommend this chalet for Muslim families who are not interested in karokea-ing, loud noises or partying. Our room, Ocean front master room is good for a family with up to 4 kids. Our bathroom needs some fixing, but with great customer service, a healthy choice of breakfast and free running water/tea 24 hours a day, who could ask for anything more.. :) "

"It is the last hotel available on my date to Redang. Pro: -friendly staff -cheap & affordable, probably one of the cheapest on Redang island -breakfast, lunch , brunch & dinner included -snorkelling included for every morning & noon. RM20 to rent the snorkelling gear only(1 time payment only) -shuttle service to the nearest beach(Long beach), walking around 15 mins - extra bed request with no charges -the snorkelling trip provided by hotel is great as the hotel guests is lesser. I can see big ferry from 5 stars hotel came to the snorkelling site late and went back early due to hundreds of guest boarding. it is better to have a small speed boat with 20-30 guest compare to the big ferry. longer snorkelling time, less crowd & better flexsibility Con: -hotel is old and not maintained well -room house keeping is bad and room is dirty with dust & hair -toilet cant flushed and door cant be closed properly & very very old -food is acceptable and fruit provided is very limited Overall i am happy to stay at this hotel as Redang is just too much fun. Cost me very less in this super peak Raya season & all meal & snorkelling included so basically the overall family trip is very cheap. Might look for other hotel if i am not going Redang again during public holiday. "

"We went on a 4D3N stay. It was our 1st time in Redang Island and we had the most amazing time there. The room was huge and the toilet was so clean. Our room was facing the beautiful blue sea. The staffs were helpful. However, the only problem was the food. As it was nearing monsoon season, the hotel did not stock up their food supply. It was hard to find food since we were on an island. Overall it was a wonderful stay though."
