Riomaggiore hotels & places to stay

Great for two female friends, we had twin beds. Provide cutlery, crockery and unlimited teabags and coffee pods for the coffee machine. Not there very often,because out enjoying the sights of Cinque Terre, but was lovely to come home to. Balcony, washing line and laundromat a few doors away. We had heavy bags and were on the top floor(4th) but Roberto provides a baggage service from the station to your room for 5 euro per bag. Highly recommended.

it definitely worths it when you can enjoy an amazing night in cinque terre and watch the day and night, which most of the one-day-tour American elderlies cant see. This place definitely deserves a higher price to book when you are comparing the apartment at the hill side which asks for almost 100USD a night. I dont see a reason of not paying a little bit more to get a better experience in cinque terre. Great location and easy to access.

The hotel is spread over different alleys of the city of Riomaggiore. So it's quite nice to walk up and down the stairs through the little alleys back to your hotel. It also means that the rooms stay rather cold while the sun is out, as neighboring houses shield your room from the sun. The rooms were small but clean, the bathroom has all the expected facilities and room service comes every day. The staff is very friendly. Everyone at the reception speaks English fluently, the service staff go out of their way to understand what you want and fulfill your wishes. The breakfast was good, the coffee outstanding! The hotel is about seven minutes walk from the train station and thus quite centrally located. It's also on one of the main streets for tourists of Riomaggiore, so there is bars, cafes and restaurant in walking distance. The marina is just down the road, about five minutes walk. Overall, I would recommend the hotel to anyone looking for an affordable stay in the 5Terre, you definitely get your money's worth.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Il Saraceno. Antonella is a delighful and gentle woman who is always ready to help and to give tourist advices. For travellers with a car this hotel is a gem and value for money. The bus stop to reach Manarola is in front of the hotel. Be aware that during summer the last bus from Manarola is around 10:20pm, so if you want to stay longer in Manarola and enjoying the night, you might consider to use the car in the evening and using the small car park it near the city. There's also a fantastic panoramic walk to do from Volastra to Manarola (but brings your hiking shoes). Breakfast was very good. I was absolutely happy of my stay and I'd definetely come back.

We stayed one night in Riomaggiore, and the room we got was super cute. The staff guided us to our room (which is a minute or so to walk from the reception, through some beautiful back alleys), gave us tips as to what we should do, where we should go and where to eat, and carried our baggage (which felt over the top, since it was really heavy, but we can't complain). The room we lived in on the fifth floor was all blue, with a fan, big windows, and a nice view. All in all, we can totally recommend it. It's not your typical hotel, but you will most definetely remember it.

Really satisfied with the hospitality. The owner, Andrea is a helpful person. He recommends every top attractions and also the best restaurants around riomaggiore. There is a restaurant close to sottocoperta named Mammamia. They sell a really good foods esp mix calamari and fish n chips. The room not so big but enough for me. You don't have to climb the hills to go here and the hotel is close to the tunnel and riomaggiore station. My booking was for an apartment but was told upon arrival that there was drainage/ pipe issue and offered a room at their hotel instead, which came with wifi and air con and coffee machine at the lounge area which I can use. There is also daily house keeping (I stayed for 3nights). These facilities are otherwise not available in apartment, though I'm able to cook there apparently, but not in hotel. Owners are nice n friendly, even the cleaner, they were concerned when I had diarrhea and vomiting. Location is fantastic, just right after the main tourist area with restaurants and grocery stores nearby. I only wish it comes with basic breakfast e.g. Bread and cereal.

We enjoyed our stay. The staff were helpful and friendly. The restaurant served very good food. Lovely view from our huge balcony. The hotel is outdated and needs to be modernised. It has so much potential. Free parking and close to town or you can access the bus which stops just outside the hotel. This was the best priced hotel in the area that had a seaview and free parking. A great first visit to Cinq Terre and Hotel Due Gemelli.

We have SMS the hotel when driving thru La Spezia (nearby city), therefore they have deployed one staff to wait us in the village top outside the gates. (Please note that this is a fisherman's village subject to ZTL traffic limitation, therefore the car cannot go in) This gentleman suggest us to park our car for free in this hotel single parking place, which was very nice and also help us carry one luggage to the apartment 300m away. The luggage issue might be the only problem here, as the village located in a high slope area with several staircase steps to deal until the room, therefore if you not staying for long time, better use backpack otherwise you might have a painful experience with luggage. The apartment it's located just in front of the harbor, with an amazing balcony facing the sea, even you can listen the waves all night long. Have simple decoration, with essential electric appliances, but two comfortable rooms and also two working toilets. In case your health allow you to deal easily with staircases, it's totally worth to stay.

Even though we booked last minute and arrived on short notice, we got the best room with a gorgeous private terrace on top of the building, from where we enjoyed a breathtaking view of the town and seaside for hours. The room itself is very very lovely and even equipped with a small kitchen. This is probably the best value for money we've ever received from a booking, so we can absolutely recommend this fantastic place with its splendid view.

This was my first trip to Riomaggiore/Cinque Terre and I stayed two days/two nights as a side trip from Rome via train. I didn't do a lot of research, but if I had, I don't think I would've stayed at Il Borgo, only because it was so far from town! Cons: - Far from the Riomaggiore town center This was my biggest contention. It was convenient that there was a mini bus/shuttle that took me right to the hotel/apt (the Cinque Terre pass applies to this bus), but I was dependent on the bus schedule. The last run of the day from town back to Il Borgo was at 20:00 (or 8 PM), so that really limited my time in town. Also a "con", the bus was really small (seats about 15 people) and not equip to handle large luggage. -100+ steps from lobby to room While there's a luggage elevator, you must notify the staff in advance and it's only available at specific times. Carrying my luggage (about 40 lbs) up and down those stairs was no fun, even being in my 20s, with no physical aliments. Pros: - The restaurant: The pesto ravioli was excellent. I had the pesto at Dau Cila and I liked Il Borgo's better! - View: Beautiful view of the water. - Landscape: The grounds around the apt were really lovely, with abundant lavender and sage growing. - Quiet: I went in September and there were still a lot of tourists when I went from town to town. However, it's much quieter at Il Borgo; you feel away from it all. - Value: Very moderately priced for a clean and somewhat comfortable room and bathroom for a short stay. Overall, Il Borgo is a decent place to stay. It just depends on what you expect or want on your trip.

The location of the room we were in was FANTASTIC! The door opened to the ocean and marina. It was a 4 minute walk to the main street and had a path down to the marina as well. There is a platform to the right with gorgeous views that people were pretty much always at taking picture was it was lovely. The room itself was very tiny and not at all what it was in the photo's (must've been the other apt in pictures i saw, no worries though). It had a small shower/bathroom. The bed is a pull out couch, but that's probably best for the size of the room. Was comfy and bed linen was supplied. There was a mini fridge as well which was handy. There's a mini table and had some extra towels and bed linen in a wardrobe. For Cinque Terre it didn't really matter as you spend most time at restaurants/exploring anyways. Value for money is good. No tv or wifi, but most of Cinque Terre doesn't have that. Bring some good books, and get to wake up to a out standing view! :) I had a lovely time.

This place was very easy to get to from the train station in Riomaggiore. Just go through the tunnel and up the street a bit. No need to drag luggage to the top of the hill! Tons of restaurants around and the waterfront with the beautiful view of the town was just a few minutes' walk away. The owner was very helpful in providing us with information but keep in mind there are very limited check-in hours so we were waiting around a while after our train waiting to check in. The apartment itself is decorated very nicely with the fishing theme and even though it was small, it was clean and practical with a nice kitchen. The bathroom was very cool - exposed wall of rock from the mountain! If you're travelling in a group since it was a small place there wasn't much privacy (bunk bed and double bed next to it) but for the price and convenient location I would recommend this place!

We stayed three nights at this property. The owner, Roberto, and wife were attentive and helpful. There are only 4 rooms at this quaint little proper (it was the family home previously). Every morning we had a wonderful European breakfast with home baked goodies. The rooms were air-conditioned and spacious. Everything was updated including the bathrooms. An added bonus is a 4th floor(roof) patio area that was wonderful in the evening. It has chairs and a table and was a wonderful place for a glass of wine after a full day!!! We will def go back!!!

We stayed 3 nights here, it was a neat little renovated apartment. Nice view, little balcony, coffee machine, wifi. The town of Volastra is small and quiet, I enjoyed staying here rather than the busier towns. Only confusion was taking the bus there with our luggage. Make sure you’re at the right bus stop! They don’t come very often and fill up quickly! But this was the best town to stay, two great restaurants, great walking tracks and amazing views of the coast.
