"This is a world-famous hotel: it is one of the oldest inns in Europe. I maanged to get a special deal for low-season (England is cold in March!). Wonderful historical ambience, all original timbers etc. Wonky and pokey, of course, but that's what you'd expect. Beautifully located in a cobbled street named after it, in a delightful little town. Excellent restaurant: several times I've called ahead and booked a local lobster. If you like history and good food and drink, this place is worth shelling out for."

"We stayed at the Flackley Ash as we were visiting the nearby Chapel Down Winery. The hotel were very helpful and organised a taxi for us. We dined in the restaurant and even though there was a large party taking place, we didn't have to wait too long for our dinner. There was an extensive menu and a very good wine list. We were happy with our dinner and we both enjoyed our breakfast. We had a very large room (2) which was in the main house. The room could do with some TLC but the bed was comfortable and plenty of hot water. We definitelty enjoyed our brief stay."

There is no parking facilities unfortunately so if you have a lot of luggage you may want to consider an alternative hotel however the hotel recomment you park on a public car park, 5 minutes walk away.
